Decent hotel, rooms were of a reasonable size so you’re not living out of your suitcase like in most hotels in Osaka & Tokyo. Can get a quiet night sleep. Walking distance to supermarket and amenities store. Train station 10 mins walk and has its own shuttle bus to train station. Staff spoke good English

We loved our stay at Osaka Garden Palace! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Shin-Osaka station is walkable, however, after a long day it can be tiresome to walk; but no fear, they offer a free shuttle from the station to the hotel. It runs about every 15 mins to and from the station which is super convenient to guests! We loved the shuttle service - having small kids, it was very helpful. Will definitely stay again in future visits! : )

It was ok, needing a place to stay overnight before we travel to Kyoto. Very small room. A good breakfast buffet and free shuttle service to the train/subway station makes the hotel stay better.

Solo in Osaka

This is an awesome location with free shuttle to and from the hotel. It's about 15 minutes walk if you don't want to wait. But the service is fast if you missed the shuttle.
There are many restaurants and shops at the train station and restaurant at the hotel with food /drinks vending machines on the floors. The hotel staff is very friendly and room is very clean. You get bottled water in the room but you can drink the tap water. There's a water kettle to make tea or coffee. I would come back again!

The room was quite spacious (compared to other hotels I've been in in Japan). The room was very comfortable. I checked in late and the people in Reception were extremely helpful.
The only downside was that the window looked onto some internal metal structure. However, I only stayed one night and it didn't bother me.

The staff was great!! The hotel was in a great location easy access to all points of interest in Osaka. Out of all this the only draw back I had are the beds. Way to hard. Only exhaustion from the sight seeing help me sleep. Only thing keeping this hotel from perfection.

Old hotel but still looks really nice (for the price you pay). Single bed was a bit uncomfortable but still managed to sleep very well. The room I had had a bit of scratches and marks on the walls but they were minor. Great free shuttle service to Shin-Osaka Station.

Close to station and reasonable price

I booked this hotel because of it's proximity to Shin-osaka station and found that it was an easy flat walk with luggage - about 12 minutes. The hotel does provide a free shuttle bus which runs every 15 minutes but I couldn't work out where to catch it at the station.

Clean room with all amenities, typical size for Japan, and reasonably priced. Not much around the hotel in the way of eateries.

This hotel has a very convenient location, less than 1 km from the Shin-Osaka station. Conveniently, a shuttle bus is available to the station (not sure about the other way) every 15 minutes at no extra charge. The staff is really courteous and helpful.

The rooms are simple and clean and supplied with wifi. Standard toiletries sets (along with body wash, shampoo and conditioner) are provided. Breakfast is available at a charge of around 1,100 yen, there are restaurants on the main floor.

I was very satisfied with my stay - really, I looked for a clean, conveniently-located place to spend the night and was very pleased.

I had a long day, on numerous train rides, to the lower vicinity of Osaka.
I was going to work my way up from there into Den Den Town & Dotonbori districts, but with all the time I spent on the train getting to where I needed to go, I just wanted to get to my hotel in Shin-Osaka.
Takes a bit trying to get out of Shin-Osaka station. Very large & busy train terminal & trying to find the right exit was a challenge. (not the hotels fault by any means there)
It's about a ten minute walk from the station to the hotel.
When I got there I was greeted by the parking staff, even before I got to enter the hotel. Was really nice after a long day.
When I entered, I went straight to the desk & said my name & handed them my passport.
Their knowledge of the English language was in my opinion, pretty good.
Got my room key, they gave me the information I needed for the wifi, & when I asked if there where any places to eat around (because I was starving), then person at the desk pulled out a map for me to take & it had numerous places on the map, within the vicinity of the hotel as where to eat. (WOW)
FYI, when you open the door upon entering your room, put the round disk of your key tag into the slot & the lights and everything will come on.
I had a nice spacious room, with a queens size bed and just as roomy bathroom, with all the amenities you'll need.
razors, comb, tooth paste & brush, soaps, shampoos, body wash, & even q-tips. The room was spotless as well.

Good value cost effective hotel without frills

The staff were polite, welcoming and helpful. The hotel was a 12 min walk from the station but once I discovered the shuttle bus that problem went away. When I checked out the hotel happily kept my luggage in storage.

This hotel has a bit of old glamour to it. I was surprised how spacious the room was (for a Japanese hotel). The shuttle bus service is a great benefit, although I arrived late so I took a taxi (short distance=1000 yen). It seemed far, but it was about a 15 min walk back to the station the next day. The taxi stand is just on the other side of the station. There doesn't seem to be much in the area, so I would recommend eating at Shin-Osaka Station where there is a good selection of restaurants. There is a restaurant at the hotel, but breakfast was 7-9 am, and I was out the door a bit later than that.

Well located, but run down

We chose to stay here because it was next to Shin Osaka station and ran a shuttle every 15 minutes. It was definitely convenient for this reason.

The downside, though, is that this used to be a really nice hotel that the management has allowed to run down. The ENTIRE FIFTH FLOOR smelled of pickled vegatables. Spending the night there overnight meant that all of our laundry smelled like pickles. There was a leak in the ceiling near the elevator that was just dripping water onto the ground. There was dust and mold everywhere in the building.

I would NOT recommend it until the place undergoes a major renovation.

This was the 2nd time I've stayed at this hotel. It is a good hotel; HOWEVER, when we checked in this time, the younger staff member tried to tell us the buffet breakfast we paid for was only for 2 adults and NOT for my friends 15 year old daughter.
I felt VERY embarrassed. This was NOT stated when I made my reservation.
I still do NOT 100% understand if this was my mistake or hotels mistake?? Or hotel.com mistake???
I reminded them I was 2nd time customer and showed them my reservation which said breakfast for EVERYONE. They agreed to give breakfast to my friends daughter. Be careful when booking here and make sure your children are included in breakfast buffet if you make a booking with breakfast. It was very embarrassing experience for me. One older staff member was very kind and took care of it for us; thank you.
I WILL come back again, but I will check in future to make SURE if I am travelling with children.
It is convenient location and easy shuttle access for using Osaka as a central point to access surrounding cities via shinkansen. Also the rooms are much bigger and more comfortable than some hotels I experienced.

Definitely worth to stay again

Free shuttle bus to/from Shin Osaka Station. The hotel's neighbourhood was quiet compared to other parts of Osaka. I passed by a Captain Tsubasa Stadium and there were soccer players training at night (interesting spot for the manga's fans).

I was able to enjoy a great lunch with delicious food and nice garden view at the hotel's Japanese style / Washoku restaurant. Overall it was a relaxing place to stay.

Nothing around the neighborhood. Had to walk 4 blocks for a convenience store and 5 blocks for a good and very low priced noodle shop. The noodle shop was in a blue collar neighborhood and prices were super low. How about a hot pot with udon, pork, and 3 kinds of veggies served with miso soup, a bowl of rice and pickles for 580 yen. I think this was the highest priced item on the menu.

Huge Entrance/Lobby but the room & bed were Small

The hotel is dated but still reasonable for the price they charged. The Shin-Osaka station is 10-15 minutes walk away but the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle bus there and back; which is great as we had many pieces of luggage. The air conditioning cannot be adjusted and basically only blows air, so we had to open the window to leave a gap and have fresh cold air in order to have a reasonable sleep.
Room size is small like any normal business hotel compared to the huge entrance & lobby area which is quite misleading.
The male English speaking staff was not particularly friendly or helpful.

Convenient location with a decent view

Convenient location with a free shuttle to and from Shin-Osaka station (5 minutes ride). The shuttle can be hard to find if you are coming from Shinkansan. Our room had a view of the shinkansan and the floating garden. Nothing much around the hotel or the station. But you can easily get to any touristy spots once you hop on the train. There's a convenient store across from the subway exit where you can pick up stuff for breakfast.

The lobby is really big with a nice classy feel. Room is tidy & very clean. Coin laundry service (300 yen for 30 mins wash [detergent & fabric softener included] & 100 yen for 30 mins dryer) & microwave located at 12th floor. Free Wifi in all rooms but its strength is quite bad especially at night. Can't find any convenience store nearby. Receptionist is very helpful and can understand moderate English. The reason why I choose this hotel because of free shuttle bus from Shin-Osaka station (I travelled by Shinkansen with lots of heavy luggage). Buffet breakfast was excellent!!

Very nice hotel, clean, tidy and modern. Very friendly and helpful staff of whom spoke English, very well. Fridge in rooms and warm loo seats. Location, a 15 minute walk to the closest subway station, but Ok if you like a walk. Right opposite the Palace, but you can only visit with a tour group so don't do what we did and rock up expecting to buy tickets at the gate. We tried to visit the Castle which is a 20min walk away, but closed on Tuesdays so beware, lost that as well. Was very wet when we went in July so that wasn't great. Would totally recommend.

One of the best in Japan

The hotel has the best service in the area. It provides regular shuttle to Osaka JR Station and the luggage storage service. The front desk can speak fluent English. The room is more western style, more spacious than other hotels we stayed in Japan. The trade-off is the bed is a bit smaller. But this is trivial and the quality of service can compensate this totally.

If you want to stay near Shin-Osaka this is a great place. Shuttle bus to the railway station is great. Took us a few days to work out where the station pickup point was. Hotel itself excellent. Most of the Osaka action however is over the river - a mere subway ride away.

Great Hotel. Well kept. Beautiful lobby. Nice rooms. Yes, smaller than those in Australia; but this is Japan. Compared to other rooms I've stayed in japan, its a good size and VERY comfortable bed.
NEIGHBOURHOOD is very quiet. However, the hotel is only about 3 minutes drive from the Station... so you arent' out in the boonies. There's nothing within walking distance really. But it suited our purpose very well. Shuttle bus is just 3 minute ride to Shin Osaka Station. Little difficult to find (once following the station exit directions, turn left and keep walking. Bus stop is under the bridge before the taxi ranks, by the bicycle parking lot).
A Taxi is only about Y650.
SERVICE: Wonderful. I requested an extra towel to wash my hair. Lovely gentleman from front desk delivered an armful of various towels. Then returned 5 minutes later with a larger hair dryer to replace the 2 we already had in the room. He also offered to supply the same to our companion in neighbouring room.
BREAKFAST: Terrific. Caters to both western & Japanese tastes. It had both hot and cold buffet. I'm accustomed to Japanese food. It was first time in japan for my companions and they were VERY satisfied... and rather impressed at the food on offer.
BANG FOR BUCK: the location might not suit some... however... you get a really night hotel, a great sleep, a marvellous breakfast & great service, for a very decent price.

Free Shuttle service to Shin Osaka is very helpful

Rooms are very small but may be this is the norm in Japan. Air condition does not function and the rooms are very hot. Staff only advices to open the small window which is the only one that could be opened. there is no Bell-boy at anytime to help with luggage. That is very very annoying to carry bags when you come tired after long flight. But the staff do their best to help, so the management should take note to improve the facilities. The shuttle bus that operates every 15 minutes is very helpful to get to Shin Osaka station.

Good choice if you want this location. Not luxury but very nice especially for the price we paid at about $100. Free shuttle to station runs every 15 minutes or you can walk easily, probably less than a half mile and easy. Very good breakfast buffet with a lot of choice including western or western-like foods. Sufficient English instructions in room and, although front desk staff are not proficient, they are friendly and helpful.

One of the best thing about this hotel is the shuttle service from shin-osaka station to the hotel and vice versa, this is really helpful when you need to use station a lot. Hotel has impressive front entrance and lobby, however, I'm not very impressed with the room condition. There was a leak underneath the toilet and I can hear the water dripping all the time unless I close the bathroom door, but even after I closed I can still hear just a bit, everything seems to be very crammed, but I'm surprise the semi double bed actually fit two people just fine(6'4\" and 5'4\" about 300 lbs all together), room temperature wasn't very comfortable, it was cold outside but the room was very hot, I had to open both the door and window to aleviate this problem(if you only open the window it won't really help), breakfast was decent and very good value if you purchase it with your room, but not worth it if you purchase it at the counter(I think roughly $10)

Great Hotel With Easy Access to Shin-Osaka Station

Wedding Hotel but don't be put off.

My girlfriend and I stayed her as hotels in Kyoto where booked up.

If you have a Japan Rail pass this hotel is a great base for visiting Osaka and Kyoto.

Rooms are standard Japanese size, small but comfy. Good strong wifi in rooms.
We got breakfast and was very pleased we had.

The hotel is very close to Shin-Osaka station (not to be confused with Osaka station). From Shin-Osaka you can get to down town Osaka in 20mins (Subway) and Kyoto in 20mins (Bullet train).

If you want to party then maybe a hotel closer to central Osaka is best. The surrounding area is pretty dead in the evening. Although we jumped on the train, hit some bars and made the last train home around midnight. So location was fine for us.

The hotel also has a very handy shuttle service which was great for our luggage.

Nice hotel, in odd location

We stayed for 2 nights, nice hotel, good breakfast, there's a shuttle that runs between shin osaka jr station and the hotel, but you really need to get a cab to the hotel the first time. We couldn't find where the shuttle bus stop was at the station and you save yourself a lot of time and effort just getting a taxi and then working out where the shuttle leaves from.

Great place to stay!

I originally just wanted a place that's relatively near to Shinosaka station, but it turned out to be a great hotel to stay in! Relatively speaking, the hotel room is big compared to similar prices in Tokyo, which I've become accustomed to. The provided shuttle bus service brings you to the Shinosaka station and back with high frequency, every 15 minutes in fact. So, any thoughts of inconvenience disappeared with the availability of the shuttle service. This hotel helped make my stay in Osaka more memorable!

Good and cheap

Fine, cheap place to stay...slightly difficult to find the shuttle bus and somewhat small rooms, but great value and clean-nothing much around the area but a few restaurants if you need to eat but close to the train station

Amazing for the price

I loved that they had a shuttle from Shin Osaka station. The hotel isn't not in Osaka hub but still very close so you can pop in and out of Osaka as you needed to. The bed was bigger than the average Japanese hotel bed. So it was quite comfortable.

Free Shuttle Bus Service

I booked this hotel as my final stay in Japan . I like this hotel because they provide a free shuttle bus from Shin Osaka Station to the hotel. It is very convenient if you want to transfer to the airport. They provide quite a good breakfast too.

Nice on the outside, lame on the inside.

Osaka Garden Palace was a really up-kept and swanky place. I assumed it was used a lot for wedding receptions b/c there was always bouquets and an actual bridal shop in the hotel lobby. This was fine, but it gave all the staff a little bit of an turned-up attitude. I wasn't there for a wedding, and I was a single traveler visiting many cities during my stay in the country so I wasn't dressed up at all and they gave me looks like, \"why is she staying here\"? Overall though, the room was clean and didn't smell like cigarettes. Fine bed, nice TV and fridge. It was a little rough to find from Shin Osaka by foot. I suggest just biting the bullet and taking a taxi as it's pretty cheap and will save you a lot of time. The wifi was horrible though. It could be used in the room, but was very slow and patchy. I wouldn't stay again, but I was happy with my choice for the time being.

Nice hotel close to Osaka-Chin Station.

A 6 minutes walk from Osaka-Chin, great if you are coming from Tokyo or Fukuoka. It's a wedding hotel, so not much is going on... At all... But is very clean and nice.
