I typically love the Melia’s I’ve been to two in Spain that were so luxurious in terms of location and property this one is definitely a bit outdated and due for a renovation the location is AMAZINGGG which is why I am giving the 4-star rating. The rooms were a bit dusty I found some stains in the shower and there was a bug in the provided toiletries we also asked for additional waters over the phone and the staff were a bit weird about it lol. The rooms were also extremely small and a bit tight but I guess this is normal for Paris but I’d say for the price point and location the stay was 7/10.

Great location, but the overall experience was disappointing. Communication with the staff was difficult, and basic items like shower slippers and enough towels for a family room were only provided after asking. They couldn’t understand a simple request for a UK–EU plug adapter. There was constant noise from above us — as if someone was walking or some kind of work was happening — at all hours, making it hard to rest. When we asked for directions to a pharmacy, they sent us to an address where no pharmacy existed. On our last night, the fire alarm went off for no reason and everyone had to gather in the lobby.

Although the location is excellent, I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending this hotel.

Room wasn’t cleaned despite sending a reminder to the front desk before leaving the hotel for the day. When informed the staff, they tried to blame me indicating that I must have left the Do Not Disturb sign (that wasn’t the case and I had, in fact, left the Clean My Room sign). Also, weekend breakfast ends at 11:00 am and the wait staff very rudely asked us to leave the restaurant at 10.55 am. I can understand that they would want to clear the food but to ask people who are still eating to leave is bizarre and the rudeness on top of it was unnecessary. Feels more like a 2* hotel - the only 4* aspect of this hotel is its location.

The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Check-in was timely and our room was spacious and ready for us. As well the hotel was conveniently located in a lovely area of the city.
A few little things that could improve. Cleanliness of carpets in hallways, availability of washcloths for bathing. (Cannot reach dispenser if you are sitting in the tub?!)
And we were unable to get additional tissues in our room for the duration of our stay. It is always the little things that make a place excellent and the Melia could be that with attention to some details.

Would I say go again…?

Check in was great until we went to the bar. Drinks were tasteless and weak for 18 euro a piece. Question whether the ingredients were correct unlikely measured. Bathroom is tired. Heating extremely high and a major issue. Bearing in mind we visited just before Christmas and all windows needed to be opened to breathe and sleep. Asked for a quiet room, received a room next to the elevator. Felt like you were in the midst of Charing Cross station including all hours at night. Tea is the room was limited to green, peppermint and camomile. Apparently they don’t have black or earl grey. The location is excellent. One evening all bar and lounge access was not permitted for guests who did not belong to an event. Guests were told to go elsewhere. At check out, I asked for a taxi to be called. Told to download the uber app! Eventually one taxi was procured after a complaint. Obviously a case of, you are leaving so why should I bother!

Visited during the Olympic Games. Location was great, room was clean, water pressure was good. It is in the neighborhood where all the brands like Chanel and hotels like Ritz are situated. At first glance the breakfast buffet was just like any other buffet, but when you taste it, the food quality is better. The service was excellent. Everyone was nice. Sincere type of nice, not the obligated type of nice. Special thanks to Michel A, Alban and Emilio who make my trip to Paris a special one.

El hotel tiene una localizacion increible, cerca de muchas atracciones como el Museo del Louvre, La Opera, La Torre Eiffel, etc. Lo que no me gusto es que estaba la calefaccion puesta, no podia regularla, y habia un calor insoportable. A few February days in Paris

I was attending a professional development day in Paris.

The venue was located on Place Vendôme, so I initially looked for some nearby hotels and came across Melia Paris Vendôme.

The hotel has a multilingual staff, with many guests and staff speaking both French (of course) and Spanish.

The room I had was comfortable, with no street view, so it was quiet. The in room facilities were good - reasonable coffee offering and good wi-fi. There was a very large bathroom - with both a bath and separate shower unit and two sinks. The negative to this was that the wc was a separate area at the other end of the room which was very small and had no sink in it.

Hotel had a good breakfast offering, although they seemed to be unable to have onions available for an omelette. There is bar food available from 1100 to 2400.

It was a pleasant experience and the hotel was located very close to many of the usual tourist attractions of Paris.

This property is nothing like what is displayed on the website. The bathrooms are extremely small and hard to maneuver around. The beds are also super tiny. The heat wasn’t working so at night it was very cold . The hotel was extremely different from what was advertised. Besides the nice location and friendly staff, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Room not ready on check-in - literally turned away from reception despite the fact that it was after 3pm and 38 degrees outside.
2 out of our 3 nights there were no towels available so we had to go out for the evening without showers - in a heatwave!
We mentioned this to staff who were pleasant but did not address the problem.

The room on 5th floor was old and dated, worn carpet, weird toilet which is separate from the main shower and vanity. The pandemic should have been perfect timing to refresh the hotel. With average $350/day, a 4 star hotel room must be presentable.

Reception was not as inviting, acts like it was a chore answering questions from guests. They always don’t have any change for big bills for room service.

Location is superb, along Rue Cambon & walkable to Lourve.

Melia Vendome has an excellent location in Paris, close to the Lourve, restaurants, gardens and most especially luxury shopping. Chanel and Dior and literally steps away. Rooms were great we booked a junior suite for 3 of us and it had 2 bathrooms which was a nice surprise and quite useful. Rooms are cleaned well daily. My cons are they are stingy with providing water bottles to make coffee in room. Only one comp bottle for the whole stay of 6 nights. I find that a bit ridiculous. Also, no restaurant or bar in hotel. Cafe next door Floetts is good and always busy.

The stand in our closet fell apart and collapsed under the weight of their safe (strong box) and our two pieces of luggage. The guy who fixed it smelt so awful we had to air out the room for the rest of the day. Worst of all they had the nerve to tell us we should not have put more than 10kg of luggage on the luggage rack! It was junk, made of cheap particle board. Substandard.

- Location, location, location.
- Super friendly and helpful staff, seriously great job.

Cons:
- Old property, the rooms aren’t in great conditions, it really needs refurbishing.
- Hard bed and bad pillows.
- AC is not available year round. Late April has hot days and since its not considered summer you can’t turn on the AC. Something to take into consideration since its noisy outside for open windows.

Can’t blame COVID any longer

I have often stayed at this hotel and I am afraid this will be the last time. The service was shocking. Seems like the hotel has run out of money. We asked numerous times for supplies - towels, tissues, shower cap, milk, coffee - got none of it, only after begging. The housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired. The reception staff are friendly enough and the breakfast is good. The towels in the bathroom are frayed. No slippers, no turndown, nothing that the premium room we paid for was given. I understand COVID has affected the hotel business but it has definitely not affected prices charged.
We complained a few times and I really did not want to out a negative review on this site but I am afraid the only thing I can say that is positive is the location.

The Staff at the Melia were wonderful. This felt like home away from home on our Christmas Week visit to Paris. It was beautifully decorated for the holiday, but most importantly the staff greeted us every time we came in the door....helped us understand how to do things and were generally very friendly.

Additionally, the location was absolutely awesome, just two block from Concorde Plaza and a few block from the Louvre, Le Madeline Church and fabulous shopping.

I would stay here again in a flash.
