I have no idea what all of the nasty reviews were about, especially those about rudeness or racism, especially since one of the reception staff members is of color. I stayed for 4 nights and saw none of those things. The front desk staff was nothing more than exceptional.

The hotel is an absolutely gorgeous hotel. It’s small, boutique and obviously well cared for. The fact that it was a Relais and Château property was a plus for me.

There was a hiccup with a pick up at the train station. that was supposed to be arranged but we got beyond that.

The only odd experience was regarding breakfast. The room service menu offers a range of hot breakfasts on demand. Oddly, the restaurant does not. I went to the restaurant expecting to order a hot breakfast only to be greeted by a lady who offered me a hot drink, left, and never came back. There was a continental buffet available, but no mention about whether to serve myself or whether a hot breakfast was possible. I sat there for 30 minutes with my cup of coffee. There was no 2nd cup of coffee offered. She simply never came back. Hopefully, the hotel management will fix these little things.

Beyond the above, I would definitely stay here again. The accommodations were excellent, the entire property was pristine and very clean, quiet and very well located close to shopping and restaurants while still on a quiet street. The front desk staff was excellent and could not have been nicer and more accommodating. Top notch.

Not a 5-star hotel - Terrible service

Though Marquis Faubourg Saint Honoré - Relais & Châteaux advertises as a 5-star hotel, it has no amenities or services that warrant 5-stars. At best the hotel is an over priced 2 star hotel.

The property is clean, conveniently located. However, the interior of the rooms are outdated and dangerous. The rooms have metallic curtain rods with sharp edges and sofas with sharp metallic leg covers. On the first day, just after check in, the curtain rod hit/pierced our head resulting in injury and profusive bleeding. We also had water from the bathroom of the room above us dripping into our bathroom. When these issues were brought up with the management, they did nothing about it - not even an apology.

In addition, though they advertise room service on hotels.com and their own website, this property has NO room service or 5-star facilities. They told us they dont have staff for kitchen and room service anymore. The onsite gym is a joke.

We were also disappointed with the breakfast served at the hotel. They served spoiled milk and some bread for breakfast two days in a row. Once is a mistake, twice is not - especially at a “5-Star” hotel and charge an exhorbitant amount for room and breakfast. When we asked if they could make us some eggs on the second day we were told that the cook is on vacation for a week and they cant.

In short, this hotel is not worth the exhorbitant price and DEFINITELY NOT 5-star. i wonder how they received 5-star rating in the first place.

Boutique townhouse hotel in best shopping area

Small boutique hotel-townhouse right in the heart of Rue de Saint Honore - the perfect high end shopping street. Our room was one of the only 2 with a patio but it was too cold to enjoy it outside in December. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated - not huge but also not small. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Did not try the food as breakfast options seemed better outside the hotel. Would definitely stay again and ask for the same room.

It’s a great hotel with that boutique feel. We went with our two children and were very pleased with the size of the suites.

Only issue we had was that the lady at the front desk most of the days didn’t understand or speak any English so getting any kind of info or help was difficult

On my second visit to Marquis Faubourg Saint Honoré - Relais & Château, this boutique hotel cemented its place as my preferred Parisian retreat. Nestled in the city's heart, it combines cleanliness and elegance with a prime, yet tranquil, location. The staff's warmth and hospitality significantly enhance the experience, making each guest feel uniquely welcomed.

A standout feature is the hotel's interior design, which is both stunning and thoughtfully executed, turning each room into a cozy haven reminiscent of home. The meticulous attention to detail in the decor invites guests to linger and appreciate the craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal that define this property.

While my affection for the hotel runs deep, I noticed room for improvement in the bathroom facilities. The towel heating rack did not function as expected, and the shower drainage was somewhat slow, suggesting minor maintenance issues that, if addressed, would perfect the overall experience.

In summary, Marquis Faubourg Saint Honoré remains a jewel in Paris for me, blending impeccable style with a welcoming atmosphere. I look forward to future stays, confident that this beloved hotel will continue to evolve and refine its luxurious offerings.

The photos provided are from the common areas only. The rooms are not quite as luxuriously appointed. We had a top floor room, previously the attic. The room was simple, but relatively spacious. There was not really a seating area. The bathroom was beautiful and had heated marble floors. There was street noise in the morning from garbage trucks, but otherwise it seemed to be a quiet street.

This was absolutely the worst 5 star hotel we have ever been at.
The room was old and dirty. Old and outdated is one thing, but dirty and full of dust is just unacceptable. We had major issues with the shower drain, water came all the way up till the room and into the carpet. We notified them multiple times, and nothing was done. We had to understand they were a small boutique hotel and getting somebody to fix it was not that easy for them they said. Nothing was done to make up for the horror we had with every single shower moment, except for ‘we are sorry’ but words don’t mean anything if you spent up to $600 a night!!!!!!! Ohhh and when I asked for a few extra milk cup (what is offered for free in the room) they informed me with check out that because of all the hassle he didn’t charge me for it. Insanity!! They are for free to begin with!!!
And then again when I tried to vent all the issues with check out, (after I started that conversation, since they never asked how the stay was) the person talking to, did not let me speak, constantly talking through me and being as rude as he could be.
What an awful hotel this was. The only good thing was that the location is great. But that is really really it. If you are willing to spent $600 a night, do yourself a favor and look for a hotel down the street. But by all means avoid this one.

No one to fix problems, why would a 5 star hotel have maintenance team?????
Because it’s a 2 star hotel !

The property is beautiful and well located. The suite was beautiful with plenty of room. Only issue is this is a tiny hotel and really does not have the amenities of a full service five star hotel. They try their best, but there is not a well seasoned concierge with knowledge of securing desirable restaurant reservations, tickets, etc. No lounge/bar on property. Front desk guys brings you requested items like ice or extra towels. No nightly turndown service.

I send my shirt for pressing and they told me it will be done within 4 hours. But until i checked out I didn’t recive it!
And i asked them to send it to my friend so he can take it but they refused! My shirt took 3 days in laundry just for pressing and they dont want to send it to my friend.

It's a wonderful boutique hotel on a quiet street just off Rue Faubourg St. Honoré which is one of our fave shopping streets in Paris. It has a warm, cozy atmosphere with spacious Suites that can accommodate families of up to four. Since it's a small hotel, staff are limited but they are friendly and helpful. They serve buffet breakfast in the morning but choices are limited so that's one area they can improve on. Overall, it's a great stay. We have actually been here at least thrice already and we will definitely be back!

We stayed in a superior suite on Christmas eve. The only ‘staff’ visible through-out our entire stay was just 1 attendant at the front desk at any given time. We interacted with 3 different male attendants during different shifts. The first 2 were fine, but the 3rd attendant the morning we checked out was disappointing. He did not greet us or offered to help with our luggage. My BF dealt with 3 big suitcases and the attendant didn’t even attempt to open the door for him. He did not ask about our stay or greet us when we came down to check-out. He also reeked of cigarettes and since the space was extremely small, I could smell it in the lobby area, which is very disconcerting for an alleged 5-star luxury property.

Now the room was the MOST disappointing part of our stay. Expedia advertised a fireplace in a 430 sq ft room. The only reason I booked this property was for the fireplace on Christmas eve. The fireplace was not functional because apparently, per the 1st attendant, Paris does not allow fireplaces. That’s fine, but do NOT falsely advertise! Also, the room could not have been more than 250 sq ft. I am familiar with Paris standards in terms of size, but again, falsely advertised! The ‘king’ bed consisted of 2 twins shoved together and was very uncomfortable. The bedding not luxurious and on par with what I would expect from a 5-star property. I am a discerning traveler who is very accustomed to 5-star amenities. Beyond disappointing! Beware, 3 stars at best!

Delightful Parisian Boutique Hotel

We stayed at this great boutique hotel for a birthday weekend. In the lead up to our stay the front desk were extremely helpful in arranging birthday surprises and offering suggestions.

On arrival we were checked in Junior Suite 43 - a fantastic size room, with a great bathroom and brilliant free standing bathtub. Definitely one of the largest rooms we’ve stayed in when in Paris.

Location is brilliant, very central and walking distance to the best shopping and great restaurants Paris has to offer.

The only slight disappointment was the breakfast - being part of Relais & Chateaux we were expecting an amazing breakfast. It was good and great to be served in room, but I would recommend either sticking with the continental breakfast or going out to a nearby restaurant/cafe if you want an American breakfast.

Overall a great hotel and we will definitely be back.

This hotel is not what I was expecting for a 5 star hotel and was not worth the price.

The service is definitely lacking, as There is only one person working at the hotel at any time. When we arrived, there was no one to help us with our bags and no one at the front desk to check us in. When we left, the person working did not offer to help take our bags outside to the taxi.

We booked a room with a king bed but when we got to our room, it had a double bed. The hotel told us our room type did not come with a king bed and they couldn’t move us to a different room. The room also looked nothing like the pictures on orbitz. It was advertised as a suite, but looked like a regular room.

The breakfast was overpriced and had very limited options. We basically paid 29 euros for a croissant and coffee. At breakfast we were asked if we wanted water, we said yes. At checkout we learned that we were charged 8 euro for the small bottle of water that we had assumed was included in the breakfast.

We’ve stayed at other Relais & Chateau properties and have had great experiences. This hotel fell far flat of our expectations and would not stay here again.

I booked The junior suite that showed pictures on Expedia that were not reflective of the room they gave us. It also was not a king bed, but a queen. I was very disappointed with how they handled this, because they simply said it was Expedia’s fault. Since I had prepaid non refundable I had no choice but to accept my situation. It is unfortunate that they bore no blame or responsibility or tried to make it up to us by upgrading us or throwing in a free breakfast. They simply did nothing. It is without question a beautiful property and an amazing location, but they have no customer service.

Excellent Stay in a Beautiful Hotel

I had originally booked a king bed, junior suite but when I arrived they only had a queen bed available. The hotel made it right and offered to move me to another room with a king bed the next day and for the rest of the trip. I'm happy the hotel made an effort to correct the mistake and make my stay a pleasant one. The hotel and rooms are very, very clean, beautiful decor and in an excellent location. Perfect area of shopping and close to museums. I come to Paris often and will definitely stay at the hotel again.

A Gem in the Heart of Paris

We were vacationing in Paris before and after a river cruiser on the Seine. This boutique hotel is fantastic. It was the former home of the Marquis de Lafayette and thus also has historical interest. The room and bath were amazing. There were both an Nespresso coffee machine and a kettle in the room. The minibar was extra and be careful about the breakfast. It was no included in our reservation and was expensive. I would stay here again, both for the ambiance of the hotel and the excellent location with easy access to the Metro, restaurants, and shopping. I highly recommended this hotel for a couple visiting Paris.

Rooms are amazing and one was ready early! We had two suites and they were set up differently. But both cozy, quiet, good AC, great location. It felt like our own apartment in Paris. The elevator, staircase, small gym in the basement, extra bathrooms in the basement, small outdoor space, comfortable lobby, all work well. Great Nespresso coffee & hot tea in the room.

With this small hotel front staff has great impact. Oleg and Thomas are excellent (management should pay to keep them) Others never introduced themselves and were very poor. Example: we ordered a taxi in person w/ front staff person who forgot or claims one was not available but did not tell us. So we arrived in the lobby all 6 of us just in time to make our private tour of the Louvre only to discover there was "no taxi available". We UBER-ed there and only made the connection with our guide by a minute. Another did not speak enough English, so I tried to talk to him in French but that didn't work either. Another man seems to be in training and that's fine, but he should introduce himself. If these folks are shy/have tricky names, then wear a nametag with flags for languages they speak.

The hotel delivered soda to us that was 9 months expired. The breakfast is crazy expensive without a rate for kids. They should offer an express breakfast for 10 Euro which is a croissant, coffee and juice.

Hotel history should be more prominent. General Laffayette is very famous and loved in USA.

Beautiful well appointed rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Great location if you want to do a spot of shopping in the high-end designer stores or walking to all the main sites. My only gripe would be the cost of the breakfast which, even if set in a lovely room, at €39 for continental and €49 for American was very steep for the quality.

Wonder boutique hotel

Spent 5 nights there and booked it without knowing much about the hotel. We were blown away. Great suites, beautiful bathroom and bedding was very comfortable. Be advised it's small and does not have the luxuries of a large hotel. No bar was our only disappointment but next to Buddha Bar Hotel so was not a real issue. Staff is minimal but were very friendly and accommodating. Will stay there again. Beautiful hotel.

A gem of a little hotel in a period property. Small - like staying in someone's house. Rooms and bathrooms decorated to a high standard. Some problems with the internet made using it and viewing TV in the room a little difficult but hotel was trying to sort it out.

A truly luxurious, boutique hotel in Paris!

I travel frequently to Paris (4-5 X per year) and always stay at the Prince de Galles or the Saint James Paris (both great hotels). Both hotels were not available for the nights I was travelling for this business trip and I found the Marquis Faubourg Saint-Honoreon hotels.com and I decided to try it.

After spending two nights at the hotel, I know I have found my new #1 hotel in Paris; the Marquis Faubourg Saint-Honore!

The hotel is wonderful in every way including beautifully decorated, spacious rooms as well as chic lounges to relax in. The staff were pleasant and accommodating and the location could not be better. We spent much time on the terrace and with the suite's bedroom windows open and the surroundings both during the day and in the evening were extremely quiet and peaceful.

Amazing Stay

We stayed at the hotel for three nights in Nov 2014. Two kids and two adults. The rooms look just like on the website. Amazing. Well appointed, maybe best hotel i have stayed at.

Staff were great, met every ask and was very prompt.

Beautiful boutique hotel

Our family, 2 adults and 2 children (4 and 11), had wonderful time at this hotel! Our suite was spacious and very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. This summer our family travelled to 4 different cities. My boys said that the sofa bed in this hotel is the best! We definitely will go back again.

Do I have to check out? Can I move in??

This hotel was a splurge, but it was well worth it! I found the hotel in January while walking down the street and decided to try it out in July if I could afford it. Thanks to hotels.com I could!

Beautiful rooms, great location, and very intimate tiny Boutique hotel. If you want a big lobby and bar then you won't like the Marquis. Otherwise, it's a great find. I hope to be able to stay again next January.

This is a beautiful hotel in a superb location.

Our suite was spacious and very comfortably furnished. Lighting in each room was generous, with overhead and well-placed reading lamps. The in-room expresso maker and other beverages were a nice touch. No review of this hote would be complete without complimenting the excellent concierge staff, who were extremely helpful and professional.

Great Luxury Boutique

This hotel is situated just off one of the most fashionable streets in Paris and is really beautiful. Rates move around so strike your best deal. We had 2 suites next to each other - 1 for my daughter and I for my wife and I that were superb. The hotel is immaculate and the staff is really friendly and helpful.

Perfect luxury boutique hotel

A great experience--The hotel is a gorgeous converted 18th-century mansion tucked into a relatively quiet neighborhood filled with high-end boutiques. The staff is polite and professional, and speaks English as well. Tons of modern amenities, but the vibe is still classically French. A few minutes' walk to the Champs-Elysees and the Place de La Concorde. Convenient to Metro stations and easy to find taxis as well. If your budget can accommodate the Marquis, then look no further!

The MOST amazing stay in a hotel so far!

We have stayed in some very expensive and very nice resorts so we were truly concerned about hotels in Paris. This was my first time here and my husband and I wanted it to be special. This hotel made it so. It was very spacious, with two sinks in the bathroom and separate area for the toilet and shower, lots of mirrored drawers in the bathroom; in fact, all done in wood, white marble and mirrors. Gorgeous and immaculately clean. The staff was so helpful and sweet; we have not experienced any "French attitude" at all and just not could have made a better choice. This is a bit pricier than some of the other choices, but one of those times where you definitely get for what you paid. Our room had beautiful draperies and a balcony even to sit outside! We were told that breakfast in these hotels is not very nice, however, not true here. We had a very ample breakfast with eggs, mushrooms, cheese, chocolate croissants, apple pastries, hot chocolate and orange juice. The wait staff could not have been more attentive. I loved the umbrella stand that offered large umbrellas for the taking, as we forgot ours. Plus, there was champagne is a bucket waiting in the lobby for our return! Every possible luxury was considered. There are books to read in the lounge to just relax and have a coffee. The closet was HUGE & there was even a small closet with a kettle and toaster and small fridge! Near the Lafayette Galleries, it is located very centrally in the 8 arrondissement. Just loved our stay!
