Fun location to stay at, very unique. A lot of history to explore. VERY convenient if you are getting on a cruise ship from here. It's literally a walk across the parking lot. The only reason for complaint was our experience in the restaurant for breakfast. The waiter kept bringing us the bill to charge to our room and we kept saying we wanted to charge it to our card. The third time he came back it was because we flagged him down and then he couldn't find our card, had to search through is apron pocket. It took us almost 1/2 an hour to pay our bill. We ALWAYS tip, but for the first time in our lives we didn't. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay here.

Well apparently we didnt read reviews prior... There is no heat in the rooms. This should be posted in big red letters on all booking sights. We had no hot water in bathroom and you can only shower if you're 4 ft tall. Shower head was at my shoulders. Dark and musty, yes I understand its 100 yrs old. But I personally need a few more amenities on my vacations.

This was a very interesting place to visit, we were cruising and thought why not see the history of the Queen Mary a must stay, they had a bar lounge with live music ,breakfast was either buffet or order they had tours as well
And the staff was friendly and helpful best part you could walk right up to the port

Makes the night before and day of boarding the cruise easy. Just roll off the ship to the other ship. Worth the extra $ for the convenience and I recommend to any cruisers. We were a group of 6 and not having to lug our luggage around and load into Ubers was so worth it. The room was clean. They are updating and I have to say I am disappointed they are going so modern. The remodel does not match the ship and would be better to keep the old wood. Or wallpaper that matches time period of the ship. Whoever’s idea it was to do the poor remodel choices should be fired. Food choices are limited at the hotel but you can uber to shops and restaurants nearby for about fifteen . The staff was nice and helpful. The room was ok. We have stayed before and the room was old beautiful wood and it made the stay amazing. To see the history of the ship in the room itself.

We stayed here for one night before our cruise. It was an amazing experience to wander around the ship and soak in all of the history!
We had lunch when we arrived at the promenade cafe. I was very disappointed that there is little choices for gluten free and No choices for Dairy Free! Dinner at Chelsea’s Chowder was great and they offered a few Gluten Free and Dairy Free options, however Breakfast could only be found at the Promenade Cafe, they had a large buffet breakfast with no gluten free or dairy free options. They do offer a menu however after sitting. 10 minutes and then requesting service so that we could discuss options we were never approached for water/ drink options or to offer to take an order. We inquired at Jubilee if they had any laxtose free yogurt but the guy was very rude and said no yogurt is sold there. Since there were no other options and no close by stores we opted to wait till we were on the ship to eat and skipped breakfast. With the amount of visitors they receive each day I had hoped that they would be better prepared to accommodate dietary restrictions.
Our room was neat and comfortable however at night it was very hot and I would suggest since staff is aware some rooms are warmer than others that you have small pedestal fans in those rooms.

You first need to embrace that you are staying on a historical artifact. It will not be your 5 star hotel experience. But cabins are comfortable and clean. The Art Deco lounge is very special.

I booked there for the experience, to learn the history of the past,after celebrating my 68th birthday at Chumash casino resort . Parking is $39 , fridge was $15 if you requested it in your room. No coffee maker for hot water in the room . Only two outlets available for the fridge, phone , small tv and bathroom . There were beach chairs in my cabinets to hang my pant and sweater . The port holes x 2 facing the city view were dirty . Paintings were peeling. I will not come back to stay but only for events . Not worth it .

The Queen Mary is a floating museum. Staying on this ship is more than staying at any hotel. Everywhere you walk, you see the past. Beautiful pictures of her history are impossible to miss. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Ensure you walk to every exhibit. Great experience/

The property is an old build so please keep that in mind when booking. It is a bit rustic and has some wear. While clean there were some spots I was surprised to see some of the areas overlooked. Staff was great and unique atmosphere but the energy felt a bit off. Cool bar setting and shops inside the property and out. Easy shuttle from Long Beach. Was an interesting visit. Would recommend at least once and convenient if you’re going on a cruise the next morning.

I think the Queen Mary is a true treasure, so my overall stay is great. One particular staff member, I didn’t catch his name, he worked on the bridge deck, and then in the museum side the next day, he was spectacular with his knowledge and willingness to share. (He used to work with the USS New Jersey).

Room was dirty. Poor lighting. Charging stations near bed did not work. No towel rack near sink to hang hand towel.
Soda machine out of order. Food was good in cafe but way too expensive.
We were told that we were all paid up front for everything but took my cc for “incidentals.”
AFTER we checked out and checked our bill we were charged $23 for Historical Preservation fee which we were NEVER told about.
This hotel was a dump. We would have been better off at a chain hotel with free breakfast.

Pros: 1) room was a nice size, and 2) historical interest.

Cons: This place is decrepit! Carpets in hallway threadbare and dirty. Plastic flowers in the planters and poor lighting. Nothing fresh about it. The ship is isolated so you can’t really walk to other places to eat, and the restaurants are tired and overpriced. Gym is small and not well equipped. Walls are paper thin so you can hear everything going on in the adjoining rooms. Room was very cold. This ship needs someone to come in with a major interior refurbishment and add some energy!

The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. The room was as clean as possible, especially considering how old the ship is. The ship itself was fascinating to explore, and we spent about five hours walking around. My son absolutely loved the experience.

Our only regrets were a couple of unexpected things. First, we were standing near the horn when it went off. Do not stand near it when it sounds. They do post the times, but I had no idea just how loud it would be. It startled all of us and hurt our ears. I wish there had been a clearer warning about how loud it would be.

Second, we ate at the Promenade Cafe. The prices were high, which would have been fine if the food quality matched the cost. Unfortunately, the food was very plain and lacked flavor. In addition, our waiter did not appear clean or well groomed, which made us feel uncomfortable about the overall cleanliness and food handling. It made the dining experience much less enjoyable.

Aside from those two issues, we really did enjoy exploring the ship. It was a fun and memorable experience, and we are glad we did it. However, it is probably a one time visit for us.

We had the family suite and it didn’t disappoint! It was roomy, clean, warm enough and cozy! As the friendly front desk staff will warn you - the walls are very thin so you will hear everything from the hallway and the adjacent rooms. The experience is one of a kind! Very pleasant and filled with history! If you are visiting on a Sunday plan ahead and reserve the Royal Sunday Brunch - it’s worth it! Our 5 year old was excited to sleep with the ghosts but no one visited us :)

What a wonderful experience to stay in a 91-year-old treasure. From the front desk staff, ticketing staff, volunteer workers, and the serving staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. For those who rate this a bad experience you have to remember it's old ship and that's what gives it it's charm. If you're looking for a 5-star hotel with new amities, then pay more and stay someone where else. It's a most stay for those taking a cruise.

What an awesome experience staying on such a historic ship! We loved being able to explore the ship on our own at our leisure at all hours — it felt like having the whole ship to ourselves. 10/10 for such a unique and historic experience! (The rooms do get COLD though so bring warm pajamas and ask for an extra blanket and then you'll sleep very comfortably.)

Was not happy they charge for early check in. My son had to run upstairs to grab something I forgot and I was charged a $15 parking fee and I never leaves the card. When you call in for question the phone staff is very rude and not helpful. The place is very outdated but that was expected.
