Although we only stayed for 1 night we were greeted with politeness at reception who were so very helpful. The room itself was small but stunningly decorated (we knew the size before). There was a lovely handwritten welcome note which just summed up the hotel. This hotel was personal and we would defiantly recommend it and also stay there again. Thankyou for our stay!

I enjoyed the staff and how friendly and helpful they were. Yamine, helped me weight my luggage to ensure that it was below the 23 kg while it was very late at night. He also gave me tips about where to visit during my next trip to Paris. Despite it being very late at night/early in the morning he had a great attitude and ensured my stay and departure was smooth.

Welcoming and helpful staff, beautifully decorated in a traditional/charming fashion, really lovely quality toiletries and shower. The bed was very comfortable too. The location is great because it is away from the super busy areas, but still very easy to travel to the main site seeing attractions.

I was very surprised upon check in to be charged €150 by the staff as a “security fee” when this wasn’t listed on the Expedia check in information. I challenged this at check in and was told it was a requirement of getting the room, even though I had paid in full I advance. The €150 was taken directly from my card (not a holding fee). Upon check out I was informed this was a mistake and the amount should have only been held. This impacted my stay as I had less funds available during the holiday which was only a two day stay. There was works going on in the hotel too, the Galway directly outside my bedroom was being painted but there were no signs or warnings from staff. Room itself was fine and comfortable, if a bit small. Shower was great and room was cleaned well. Lighting was very dark so struggled to do makeup - bring a torch! However the location was fab and we didn’t spend much time in the room.

This hotel tucked away on a smaller block was a pleasure to stay at. It's a beautiful, small place much like a bed and breakfast in the US. The breakfast was wonderful, and had it delivered to our room. It came on a beautiful silver tray and it made us feel like royalty. It is super convenient to many Metro lines, and there are great restaurants just steips away.

Best part though, was the wonderful and gracious staff. Amelie was particularly friendly and pleasant. Amelie and her colleagues always had a smile on their faces even after a very long day. Staying at this hotel was a real treat.

we had the biggest room and it was still rather small, especially the bathroom. The most annoying thing is they controlled A/C access during the hot times. During one night we woke up sweating because they shut off our AC and restricted our access access likely to save money. I had to storm downstairs at 3am and demand access to our A/C. That was absurd!!!

I love it

I love this place and go back there when I can. Small boutique hotel, adorable and very efficient staff, nice and cosy breakfast room. Original decoration. Easy to reach from Roissybus if you fly to Paris, unbeatable to get to any place in the city with many subways, REF and buses around. Very nice restaurants in the vicinity. I love it!

This little hotel is full of charm and character. The dark and moody interior is perfect for a romantic getaway.
It is perfectly located where you feel that you are part of a neighborhood.
The rooms are compact and quiet dressed in rich hues.

There were two incidents that someone broke into our room. First time was shortly after we checked in, someone opened our door without knocking the door and closed immediately when she noticed we were in the room. The next morning, the receptionist blamed us washing clothes in the room while we were having breakfast. The fact was we NEVER did that. I didn’t know why she made such allegations to us without any proof and shouted at us impolitely in front of other guests in the breakfast room. The last day was the WORST, I just bathed in the morning and wrapped myself in towel only. Someone opened the door without knocking the door AGAIN. This was totally unacceptable and this was the worst experience hotel staying I have ever had.

Nice hotel for short time stay in Paris.

Excellent location near Opera. Good breakfast. Clean room. Friendly stuff. What else can you expect for the money you pay ($250 including taxes)?
Why for short stay? The room is so large that it fits a bed and 2 medium suitcases. And the receptionist said that we got an upgraded room. I cannot imagine what size non-upgraded is.
But I repeat: this is Paris, Opera, reasonable price. So giving it 5 stars.

Private hotel in the heart of the city

Great location. Can walk to many sights but the hotel feels tucked away and private. Quiet rooms, comfortable beds and linens. Small rooms but expected to be. Deep tub, great for soaking after hours of walking.
Only negative is that we did not know that we had to ask to have the AC turned on in our room. It could be controlled in the room after it was turned on at the front desk. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Parisian Pearl at the Opera

If you’re looking for a romantic boutique hotel in the Opera district Maison Athenee is a must stay. The rooms are beautiful and elegant with luxurious bedding. The lobby bar stocks premium drinks and wonderful food and the ambience is Parisian romance at its best. Pierre, Alex and all the staff are true gentlemen and make the guests feel special. Intimate stay with real plush beddings

The stay was lovely! Service staff were all very helpful from front desk to concierge. Making our 1-night stay really pleasant.
The room maybe small but it is quite standard in boutique and hotels in the city area. Did I mention the bed? It was one of the softest yet firm bed and pillows I have had slept on throughout my 2 weeks stay in Europe(including one of the best hotels in the world).

Areas of improvements: The hotel could do with brighter lights. Also because my eyesight is failing...i can't quite find stuff under the orangey-glow of the mood lights. It will also be great if the doors that would closed without having to shove hard against the floor because od misalignment.

Guests - BEWARE!!! Hide all your belongings, especially your jewelry. Housekeeping person STOLE from my wife's cosmetic bag diamond ring, pearl earrings and diamond bracelet.

We discovered that just after leaving the hotel. Tried to contact hotel - received response from (Thibaut Estanguet / Assistant Manager) : After checking, nothing was found in the room 401.

Most likely they hire there staff without criminal record check. You do not know who comes to clean your room - you and your belongings are in danger!!!

Me and my wife stayed at Deluxe Room, which supposed to be the biggest.
However it's very, very small and dark room. Needs lots of upgrades.

Very short on staff, same person works at a front desk and at the same time serves breakfast in the morning.
There is almost nothing to eat for a breakfast, you have to wait for 10 - 15 minutes even to get a cup of coffee. Not mention time to get some food.

The only plus side - hotel's small hallway, which adds nice touch to the decor. Very well done.

Hotel is centrally located, close to everything.

Fantastic location as you're not too far from the sights and surrounded by great restaurants and shops. For our first time in Paris this was ideal scouting position to get to all the main sites. We walked to the Eiffel tower which was about 45 mins with a few picture stops.

The hotel is quite Gothic/romantic styled which was different to most commercial chains. The rooms are small but apparently the norm in this glorious city. The bathrooms are stunning and the shower is one of the best I've ever used in a hotel. Lifts are small. We were on the 5th floor and as it was the loft the ceiling were slopes in to the bedroom space. The hotel was very clean and staff were very good. We got to the hotel from the airport using 'roisybus' which is direct and stops about 5 mins walk from the hotel

Faulty basin, bath plug mechanism broken, door lock to outside area stiff and unable to close properly so cold air comes in room. No lock on bathroom door.I pointed out on leaving hotel and told that I should have spoken about it before , I did the first time waited 13 minutes while the guy on reception chatted about riots with a guest , I left ,2 nd time he was on the phone I was asked to wait a minute I waited 10 minutes and left , I gave up we were only there 2 days .

I would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers. While centrally located, it is on a side street, so it is relatively quiet. The room was nice, the beds were comfortable, and we had a sizable bathroom. The staff is very friendly and always accessible. The location was great—restaurants and shopping all around, very convenient to the metro, walking distance to the Louvre. And if you are looking for an economical way to CDG airport, there is an airport bus (RoissyBus) that goes directly there; the stop is less than a five minute walk from the hotel, and it costs 12€. I would definitely stay at the Maison Athenee again.

The only good thing about this hotel is the staff especially Hugo. He was wonderful.
Rooms are small, bathroom small & old.
One light in bathroom was out, no light in closet.
Overall room is very dark.
Old can of Pringle chips left in closet.
Garbage in room not thrown out one day. Will not be returning. Breakfast is not worth the money, plenty of places near hotel to eat. Noisy street garbage trucks on the morning. We travel alit this is the worst hotel.
Thank goodness for Hugo!!!

Hotel room was very comfortable. I loved the bed, just right, not to soft or hard, slept well. Good sized bathroom too.

Had very little interaction with hotel staff but overall what I did have I'd say they were good.

Main lobby area is quite dark no matter what time of day and they burn their signature scented candle all day every day and it was hard for me to take as someone who is sensitive to scent.

Good location in relation to popular tourist attractions. There’s is the back entrance to The Olympia theatre where music fans hang out until late night in the streets and it can get loud.

The staff is very professional and friendly, the superior room is small (no place to put your luggage if there is two people staying in the room except in the middle of floor).

The decor of the hotel is opera themed and decorated in deep reds and golds, it has a classic Parisian feel.

The walls are kind of thin and you can hear housekeeping banging around in adjacent rooms and people going up down steps.

Excellent hotel, great welcome from staff and great service, room was small but well equipped, had everything you needed and was very well thought out, the bed was comfortable, if being picky I would suggest improving the type of mattress to something of a higher standard. I would definitely recommend this hotel, a small boutique hotel where you receive a much more personal service, the location was perfect for exploring the city and the decor has obviously been well thought out, very Parisan, Cosy and inviting.

This is an amazing boutique hotel. We came to Paris to see a concert at the Olympia, and that is right around the corner! The Roissy Bus stops at the Opera, which is a 5-minute walk. The Boulevard de Capucines with all its gorgeous cafes is right there. This location cannot be beat. The room was smallish (think any big city hotel), but enough for two. The free Wi-Fi was excellent. The staff was very friendly and courteous, and kindly put up with my accented French. I would definitely stay here again!

Frequent Flyer at This Hotel

Have earned my wings so to speak at this hotel and have written several reviews. The hotel has become like a second home. The staff is consistent, familiar, and a big reason why I keep coming back. Thibault, Pierre, Sam and the others are the soul of this hotel. One night, I came in from the rain, too exhausted to grab dinner. The hotel does not really have a restaurant or meal facilities outside of breakfast. Pierre threw together a nice cheese plate for me just to get me through. It was an amazing gesture and the reason I won't stay anywhere else.

Rooms are small as the hotel is small but plenty comfortable and cozy. The beds are extremely comfortable.

A Fine Boutique Hotel

Maison Athenee is the definition of a fine boutique hotel. When we first walked in, we knew we made the right choice. The decor and fresh smell of perfume was delightful. The elevator is tiny, probably can fit max three people, but generally two. The rooms were wonderful and beds were comfy. We chose an upgraded room. One downside was the internet is extremely slow depending on where you are in the hotel. The best part of the hotel is the staff, they are attentive, thoughtful and do everything in their power to make your stay pleasurable. I haven't seen staff this good for a four star hotel. The location is great as well, close to shopping and Musee Du Louvre. All within walking distance (5-10 minutes).

the hotel is so beautiful, and perfectly located for the Paris opera! Unfortunately, like most Paris hotel rooms the rooms are really small, you can hardly put your case down! Little hanging rail, and no where to put anything... very cramped which spoilt our stay a little. The lighting is also very dim, although very atmospheric and beautiful, but when you need to apply your make-up it's tricky! The mini bar was extortionate, we asked for some water for the room (thought it was included) but was told no that's just the first night! 9 euro for 75cl of still water! 7 euro for a small can of Orangina, 10 euro for a small can of beer. Luckily the air-conditioning was good as it was so hot, and the beds and amazing pillows were the most comfortable I have ever had, beautiful decor... pleasant staff...

Small but comfortable stay near the Palais Garnier

Rooms are very small and have an odd smell, presumably associated with the cigar lounge on the basement. The cigar lounge itself is a tiny cramped space with no windows, hardly adequate for enjoying a good Cuban. Especially when you can have your cigar outdoors, on any of the nice brasseries on the neighborhood. Still, service was attentive and room was clean. Good water pressure on the shower, excellent towels and nice amenities. Plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, including for breakfast, so I skipped the one offered by the hotel for an additional price. Overall, a good base for exploring the rive droite.

the room space was alittle small, but had all the comforts one needs including ample closet and storage. Would prefer the toilet be separate from the tub and sink. However, the service and staff are utterly fantastic, friendly and constantly wanting to please. They felt like family after five delightful days. We are looking forward to our return.

I have been going to Paris for ten years and stayed at many hotels. I prefer Parisian ambiance to typical American style but have stayed in both in Paris. The maison athenee is not only beautiful and very Parisian but the staff was outstanding..From the moment I stepped into the lobby staff made me feel so welcomed. The manager Ti beau.was so delightful..i was even given a room with a terrace!!!..I received a lovely note
from the general manager sylviane..again making me feel welcomed..All the staff were wonderful to me..merci Ti. beau. Pierre.and I think his name was jillian..and not only hospitable but all such handsome men!!!Stay at this hotel !!! I will be back soon and recommend this hotel.to everyone!

This hotel is beyond amazing. The staff was friendly and Helpful. They made my trip even better, I Actually felt sad leaving them (staff). The location cannot be beat! Close to everything! Love everything about the stay!

Its the definition of “Boutique Hotel”.

Its the definition of “Boutique Hotel”.

This is a very small hotel hidden away in a quiet street closet o Palais Gabriel Opera House. It is so well located. We where going to stay only 3 days and ended up extending our trip a full week.

Rooms are small and unique, there is no gym, no proper restaurant or swiming pool. But hey! You are in Paris. Location and cost benefit makes this place the perfect boutique hotel. Specially if you want your Paris Experience to be unique and romantic.

The staff is great. The best I have encountered in a boutique hotel.

I would also recomend the restaurant next door! Fantastic.

Awesome little gem of a hotel in a great location

We were impressed by the swift check-in, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Although the room is small, it is perfectly thought out, with all the necessary amenities and equipment. And the terrace is so enjoyable, even in winter! We will definitely consider coming back and recommend to our friends!

Bed and linens were amazing. Service was really amazing. Room very small but beautifully done and hotel very clean and classy. Close to restaurants and shopping. Early night area which is good for noise levels.

Great location. Small rooms.

Check-in was smooth and hotel staff were courteous. The bed was comfortable but the rooms were small – it was a struggle trying to have two large suitcases open at one time. The location of the hotel is great though, it's literally a stone's throw away from Printemps and Galeries Lafayette!

Amazing Hotel! Would definitely come again.

The hotel was great, stayed one night had an early flight and concierge ordered a taxi for us. Also breakfast was at 7am we left at 5am the concierge made us coffee and brought it to our room. Wow what service!! Too notice cares about the guest.

Very Parisian and delightful service staff
