This is a very typical three star European hotel (that is really more of a two star by North American standards). My room was suitable but very tired and dated. The carpets were very worn, the shower was broken (you had to hold the showerhead because the mount was damaged) and tiny. The location is absolutely perfect though and the staff were very kind. This did the trick for my first night in Paris but it’s pretty overpriced for the condition it’s in.

Room was really small which was fine because O was travelling alone but I can’t imagine two people trying to move around that small of a space. Appreciated that it had AC. Had a mini fridge which was a plus but I feel like it could have been way colder.

Great location & hotel EXCEPT poor guest support. Unfortunately I became quite ill the day I arrived. I am an older woman traveling alone. I knew I needed some food by late afternoon. However, the desk receptionist refused to help me. She said I needed to walk nearby myself for food. They did not have any delivery services to offer.

I will say the morning reception guy was super. He gave me my room early when I arrived the day before. He also was not happy with the afternoon receptionist. He said they know many restaurant owners nearby that would have gladly made me what I could food I wanted. She should have ordered for me whatever I wanted and delivered my food to me, paying them back for what it cost. Instead, she said because it was after 3pm, she could not leave the office.

So I recommend this hotel but I hope if you ever need assistance, you get the morning guy!

This is a great location for a great little hotel. We were gone sightseeing, naturally, so can't comment on the breakfast or how quiet it is during the day. But it is nicely decorated and maintained. The rooms are small, of course, but more than adequate for two people. We looked out to the small courtyard below (behind the building) but never spoked any people. The night clerk doesn't speak much English, but since we don't speak much French -- anyway, it was fine.

Overall this was a great place to stay. Room was clean and it was average size. I was happy there was a fridge and A/C. Staff were really nice and helpful. The only thing I didn’t like was that there is a bar right next to the hotel and there would be smokers outside which caused the main floor of the hotel to smell of cigarettes.

Only one night. I chose this hotel because out of those with a single or a double at single price this had the best breakfast reviews. They weren't wrong. Breakfast was great, the room had a really comfortable double bed, sitcom that worked very quickly and a great shower. The only slight niggle was that I was told there would be tea bags in the room but there were only fruit teas. I didn't bother going back down to the desk because I had one with me (I'm sure they would have produced one if I'd asked because they had them at breakfast). There was a kettle and milk pods which is more than you get in many European hotels. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and I could drop my bag off when I arrived even though my room wasn't ready and leave it to collect later after checking out. All perfect for my short stay.

I very nice stay in Paris. I had stayed at this hotel a few months previously. Again, it was an excellent stay. My room was compact but very nice with good air conditioning and nice shower. The hotel is ideally situated for exploring central Paris and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Stayed there multiple times. Like location Always been a little loud but these last 2 stays were very difficult/horrible waking up 6am by neighborhood properties construction morning of my stay.
Hotel did not do anything about it. Windows are not sound proof and street noise are constant.

The staff in the hotels are all very friendly and nice!
Interior of the room is quite old, and I would say that have maintained it very well. The hair dryer holder gets too a little too hot to hold after a while. No bedroom slippers, toothbrush and hair conditioner. No house keeping done on one of the day when we are staying there. Good thing about this hotel, is that their room is warm enough with heater for winter season. There is a tiny lift in this hotel. It's walking distance to train station and shopping malls. Very nice Japanese food beside the hotel and authentic Korean restaurant within a short walking distance. Thank you!

We stayed two nights here. We arrived late on the Sunday evening but received a very warm welcome. Everyone we met across the three days was so friendly and helpful.
The room was warm and comfortable, the sliding bathroom door left a little gap, but that wasn't such a problem for a long married couple!😆
The only thing missing was a couple of black tea bags for the English!
The hotel is very well situated, close to numerous metro lines, and walking distance to lots of places of interest.
We would be very happy to stay here again.

This is not a fancy hotel with many amenities.
Also the stairs are tight and the elevator small (2 people and luggage), not unusual for an urban hotel in Europe.

Nice little hotel in perfect location. I didn't spend much time in the hotel, just a single night whilst attending a business event near the Palais Royal, which was walking distance.

Good little Paris hotel

For Paris, it was a decent sized room, the bed was comfy and the room was quiet. Perfect location for me needing to get to Concorde which I walked to and back from at night and felt totally safe. The hotel is tucked down a side street meaning that even though I was looking on to the street, I didnt get disturbed by noise below. Breakfast was worth the money - not a huge choice but perfectly plentiful. Perfect for a one night business trip and would stay again.

This hotel is in a very good location, restaurants and cafes all within walking distance. Great bakery in the corner awesome croissants and good coffee. Very clean, front desk very friendly and helpful. Very good air conditioning and hot water. We have no complaints. I just wonder about the bath tub being so high hardly could step into it.

Shuttle Transport ripped us off

The hotel itself was very comfortable--although the bed can a be a bit softer.

CONS:
1. Internet connection in our room (3rd floor) was veryyy slow. It took me a while to send an email with a regular attachment.
2. The hotel's shuttle airport transport was terrible! Despite speaking with the driver about our correct terminal (2F), he insisted that all Air France flights were at 2A and left us there--which turned out to be a 25-minute walk to our actual terminal! Terrible service and I hope the hotel STOPS using this shuttle transport company.

Very close to Opera, metro, RER and the Roissy bus station, and the staffs are kind. Room is relatively small, but the condition(including bathroom) is great. Overall it is satisfying

A Gem of a Boutique Paris Hotel

We were very pleased with our stay at the Hotel Volney Opera. Great location, super clean, very friendly and helpful staff. Great value for the money! The rooms are small (as they are in most inner city hotels) but very well appointed and laid out. We enjoyed the convenience of the onsite breakfast room which was available for a reasonable fee. It was nice to be able to grab breakfast and get started on our day. There are two Metro stops - Opera and Madeleine - within a very short walking distance making it super easy to get wherever we wanted to go. The location is walking distance from the Louvre, Jardin Tuilieres, Place Vendome, all the amazing stores on Rue St. Honore and the Champs Elysee just to name a few. Would absolutely recommend this hotel and would stay there again!

Lovely stay! Great location and wonderful staff!

Stayed there two nights with my young daughter. I was worried when I booked about being on the ground floor facing the street, but there was no noise at all. The staff were extremely helpful. They even sent a survey prior to our stay to help us prepare. Their directions to the hotel from Gare du Nord were great and even gave recommendations for restaurants in the area. They helped us book a shuttle to the airport. While the room was smaller than some hotels in other places, I believe many in Paris would be like this. It was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay again!

Good hotel near Opera

Cozy hotel on quiet side street close to Opera and shopping area. Easy walk to many restaurants, cafes, river and museums of the right bank. Room and bathroom was quite spacious compared to most European hotels and kept very clean during our stay. Helpful front desk staff. Would stay here again.
