It was a nightmare staying there
The check in was late
At first we received a room with a terrible smell. As if a dog slept there and it was super stinky
The crew members we’re mad at us for not letting them know at the first moment of this odor
We advised them a couple of hours later after the smell wake me up
They moved us to another room
Then the next day to another room
Then there was no hot water
Everything was a nightmare

There is a health club in the basement and the running causes vibrations in the whole hotel from 6AM to 9PM. There are noisy people in the street every night after midnight from the four bars nearby. It is a narrow street so the sound echos. Stay away!

We landed in Paris at 7 am. When we went to the hotel, it was obviously too early to check in and we were told by 3pm the room would be ready. We left our bags in a designated room they had and spent the morning and early afternoon in the city. Around 2pm, we called the hotel in hopes the room might be ready as we flew 7 hours from the U.S on no sleep and walked a large amount of the city from the time we landed until 2pm. They said it was not ready so we waited and then arrived at the hotel around 2:30, at this point only half an hour to spare. The room was still not ready, so we sat in the lobby where the receptionist had seen us and knew we were waiting. By 3 pm we were still sitting in the lobby in front of the receptionist so we asked at this point if the room was ready and he said “oh i thought you were waiting for someone it’s been ready.” My family and I were frustrated as we had been waiting all day and it was clear we had been waiting. Other than this occurrence, we loved the room, the staff and the location of our hotel!

Great location but Tiny Space

Hotel Daunou Opera is in an excellent location. Its very close to the Metro and about a 10-15min walk to the Louvre. Rooms in Paris are all very small and we chose a room with 3 Twin beds (2 Twins + Twin sofa bed) to fit our family of 3 but there was no room outside of the beds and suit cases. Beyond the size of the room we did have a very noisy group above us which made it a bit hard to sleep at night. Overall, the room worked out well for us.

Great location, great staff! Only thing that i didnt like is that there is gymn next to it and you will hear very loud noise/bang from 6am onwoards. Make sure you stay on 5th Floor! 1st to 3rd floor should be never.

What I have liked is mentioned above.All was well except for the size of the room and the size of the beds.I guess that as a single person it would have been ok,but as I asked for a twin bedded room,they have split the room emphasising its very small size,I was very disappointed having stayed there previously on my own and being given a very large room.Had the person I was meeting not arrived before me and unpack,I would have requested a larger room.

There is a gym next door, if you have trouble sleeping this is not for you. Make sure you aren’t on the side of the hotel that is combined with it. As with any other typical French establishment people are very rude. The hotel certainly what I expected but it was clean and I was only there to sleep and that’s it. The medicine ball workout the fitness gurus were doing sounded fun and intense. I have no trouble sleeping through it but that’s my disclaimer above. Breakfast is not breakfast so don’t pay the 25 euros per person. There are many places close to have 4-5 star dining. The pizza across the street is the best pizza my family has ever had

Great area of the City. Rooms are clean, and kept up. The website signals a different class of service/offering, than is the reality, however. This is absolutely a 3 star hotel, and the pictures on the website make it appear to be more higher end than it actually is. We booked a suite, and were quite disappointed to find it was a duplex with a super-steep spiral staircase, and bathroom facilities only on the upper floor (which meant our young children had to climb dangerous steps each time they want to go to the bathroom or wash their hands, etc). Some indication of that from the staff at check-in or before would have been appreciated, as we would have stayed elsewhere.

This matter should be addressed or at least do not take rooms at first floor who h is close and beside the Gym

We stayed at the Hotel Daunou Opera for 2 nights in November 2024. The hotel is located just a couple of blocks from the Opera House, the Opera Metro station and a few minutes' walk to other metro stations. A short 13-15 min walk to the Louvre and you can easily keep going to other areas near the river, which is very nice.
We requested a room with 2 twin beds. It was somewhat small but livable. It seems to have been recently remodeled, everything was modern, clean and very nice. We had a small balcony overlooking the street, the bathroom was very clean and also modern in all that was in it. One complaint I read before booking was the shower, which has the half glass instead of a curtain or door, and it makes it so the floor outside inevitably gets wet when you shower. It's inconvenient but it was not a huge deal, we just used an extra towel to put down on the floor. The elevator was being serviced when we arrived so we had to go up to the 4th floor via the stairs, but the guy who checked us in (can't recall his name) was extremely helpful about it and insisted on carrying our two heavier suitcases, which made it much easier for two tired travelers. Elevator was fixed by the time we came back down about a hour later.
The only negative thing I can say is that there is a good amount of noise from a pub across the narrow street from the hotel. People talking loudly while smoking outside of the pub up until 2am could be heard from our room. Beware if you're a light sleeper.

Absolutely loved this hotel. The location is great for walkable sightseeing and has metro stations really close by. We only really booked it as somewhere to sleep while we visited for the Olympics but it was so lovely. The decor and styling were excellent. It was very clean with excellent house-keeping. The breakfast was delicious and reasonable (my child ate for free) and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely return and recommend.

Great location and very easy to get around. The only downside is they are right next to two clubs and both stay open until 2 am or later. We were in room 102 which faces the street, so it was very loud. We had other family in rooms away from the street and they had no issues. Rooms are a bit small, but overall a good experience.

The hotel was very central with both metro, other transport and dining options close to hand. It was not far to the Louvre and shopping areas like Galeries Lafayette. Location was ideal and conveniently located to everything we wanted to see in Paris. Easy access to the tram nearby. Every imaginable restaurant within minutes because the opera is right there. Super clean. Unfortunately there were several very loud bars on the street below that go until nearly 5:00am on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights. Ask for an interior view to avoid the noise if that isn't something you're used to. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast options.

Good location. We were on a walking city break and the hotel was well placed to serve our needs for sight seeing, shopping and walks by the river as well as local attractions.

Further afield the area had a buzz from the approaching Paris Olympic games over the Summer 2024. Local amenities were good with a wide range of shops.

Our room was high up and to the rear and very quiet, so we managed to get quality rest in, the hotel had upgraded it free of charge. Excellent facilities, carpet needed a wash in the near future and toilet could be upgraded to include a wash basin although there was one nearby in the washroom opposite so we managed ok.

Continental breakfast was good and staff were pleasant and the place was well managed.

Many interesting places are located close within walking distance. For example: Opera Garnier, Galeries Lafayette, Place Vendome, Place Madeleine, Place Concorde, Tuileries Garden, Louvre, Palas-Royal…
As for breakfast, I can’t say anything because I and my wife wanted to try food in different places.
I want to say a special thank you to Emma. We received a lot of useful advices from her.
And one more thing about transportation. Very convenient network of metro lines.

We really enjoyed this hotel. Our room was small, but the bathroom was very spacious for Europe and everything was very clean and modern. We were promised a coffee machine in our room and did not have one. The mini fridge is very small and packed full of items that they charge you for if you remove them. Would have preferred a larger empty fridge to store our own drinks and such that we bought. Breakfast was good, but there was no access to coffee and tea in this room outside of breakfast hours. We were also charged for two days of breakfast that we were not able to use due to our our tours that day. We asked for a refund and were told that we would not be able to get one. For the most part the reception was very helpful, but not all spoke English very well. The day we left we asked for help finding the Roissy bus station since there was a marathon that day and the reception sent us entirely in the wrong direction and when we finally found the bus stop it never came. We ended up calling an Uber. More knowledgeable staff would have been helpful in order for us to plan our day and trip to the airport better.

We booked a lunch cruise on the Seine River, however the hotel never notified us that there would be a demonstration the next day (which we were later advised by one of the employees, that we should have been notified) and no uber or taxi could pick us up and we missed the cruise and lost $175. To date we have been unable to get our money back - no fault of our own!!

It may have been a language barrier situation. We would have liked a top sheet for our bed but we didn’t request one. It seems to be an American thing to have a top sheet.

This boutique hotel is lovely! The staff are very helpful, the rooms are modern, clean and very quiet if not facing the street. Close to the M14 metro for the train station and the Opera bus stop for airport transfer. Totally walkable between the Eifel tower to Notre Dame. We didn’t have the breakfast as many options close by. Would definitely stay again.

Great stay! Spacious rooms and bathrooms, we had a room that faced inwards towards other windows so it was quiet at night for us. If you have a window facing towards the street it may be noisy bc there are bars on this street that people are at until 2-3 am. Perfect walking distance to the Main Street with restaurants, and very close to the Palais Garnier and Galleries Lafayette. Close to the metro as well!

Location to Metro, restaurants and shopping was great. Quiet, great air conditioning, Nespresso machine, small refrigerator, plenty of towels and bathroom tissue. Stayed in a suite (room 604) with a lovely patio (with flowers). The room was a 2 story with a spiral staircase (one stair was a little loose), pull out sofa with two twin mattresses for our teens, and a king bed upstairs. Shower/sink at one end of room's second floor and a toilet/sink at the other end. Safe wasn't big enough for iPad. Reception area is small but staff greeted us everytime we left and returned. Would recommend. Reliable elevator/lift fit the 4 of us comfortably.
