The room was substandard especially considering the cost of about $500 per night (plus $50 parking). Beware the ‘partial sea view’ category - it required walking to a high window to see the sea. The name is Hotel Corallo Sorrento but it is not located in Sorrento! The choice to get to the shopping area in town was either wait for a shuttle-bus or walk for half an hour (without a view of the sea). Our bathroom was outdated when compared to our stays at 5 other hotels on this trip. There was not even a mirror in the main room. During a storm something(s) loose on the roof made a loud banging noise - all night. On the positive side, meals and service in the dining areas were excellent!

Great location spectacular views, walking distance to main town, but also convenient shuttle. Lobby, pool and dining areas for food or just cocktails have amazing views. Rooms are clean, comfortable beds, good shower and good air conditioning and plenty of shelves and storage in bathroom. Will definitely stay here again.

Beds are double which I wish were a queen. They have a shuttle service to the bus terminal which is great but would like a few more time options during the later part of the evening as we had to walk back one evening and it was 30 mins

I totally loved this hotel
The staff was amazing
Francesco,Luca and Antonio were so professional and made my wife and I feel at home.
The breakfast was eggs bacon and seasoned vegetables was also delicious

The view of the sea from my balcony was breathtaking
I cant say enough about the staff the shuttle bus driver Don Ignacio was always on time at pickup and drop off.
Sorento is about 10 minutes from hotel in shuttle bus.
You cant go wrong with this hotel

What an absolutely beautiful hotel. The entire staff was amazing and so kind. We lover our breakfast daily and the sunset dinner and pool was incredible. The views are spectacular. It was also perfectly located to get around Sorrento and hop over the Positano and Capri for day and evening adventures.

Am awful hotel with a beautiful view

From the moment I arrived there were problems and no one on the staff seemed to care. They put me in the wrong room, told me I was wrong when I told them it was the wrong room, then knocked on the door 5 minutes later & said I was right, then proceeded to downgrade me to a room that had a great view but nothing else. If you are over 250 lbs, prepare to not fit in the shower. The toilet also stopped working within the 1st hour, causing my wife and I to be late to our honeymoon dinner. They also claim they have room service, yet when we called for it they simply told us no even though it said it was open. It seems as if the hotel wants to price gouge it's customers for everything. I asked for an iron and they told me I'd have to use their laundry services just to press a shirt. And because it's the day of, they would have to charge an emergency ironing fee. What hotel doesn't provide an iron. A Hampton inn provides an iron but a 4* doesn't? Also, we chose this hotel over another because of the pool pics. Well the pool is about a 3rd of as big as it looks in the pics. Also, we are in beautiful Sorrento and they close the pool at 7pm in the summer, even though it doesn't get dark until 9pm, causing us unable to go in. On top of this, I expressed these concerns within the first two hours of being there & basically got told sorry not sorry. The staff doesn't seem to care. This was my honeymoon and I paid a ridiculous price for it to be ruined at a sub par hotel with a nice view.

View was great. Room was a little dirty, especially the floor. Shampoo and soap containers were empty when we arrived, next day still weren’t filled so we had to ask for it as well as ask for more toilet paper as they didn’t give enough for 4 people and didn’t replenish on their own. Asked for ice and hours later still no ice so we cancelled order and went to bed. Waited over an hour for a couple sandwiches at lunch while people seated after us got served. I expected better service for the price and 4 star hotel. Too far from Sorrento. Shuttle service was not convenient because there was a big time gap in middle of day and also gap in the evening.

Beware of misleading photos and reviews for this hotel. I have no idea how this property is considered a 4 star hotel considering how run down and unclean it is. We arrived at this hotel full of excitement for our first trip to the amalfi coast. The room was nothing like the photos shown on the site. Room was tiny and cramped, only one person could walk through at a time. Bed sheets had stains and holes in them. Bath towels had holes in them and the shower would fill up in standing water when you showered. The complimentary breakfast buffet consisted of watery powdered eggs, some breakfast meat, a few slices of fruit (that would run out after each guest took some), some pastries, and some plain stale bread. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to sorrento and gives you a time schedule for pickup and drop off. We used the shuttle to go to town for dinner since the food from the hotel was barely edible. One evening we decided to take the last shuttle back after dinner. The driver left before the scheduled time and we were offered no assistance from the hotel other than excuses and were forced to walk back to the hotel as there were no available taxis. I recommend looking into other hotels before booking this place. By far the most disappointing property we stayed at on our entire Italy trip.

The exterior areas of the hotel are lovely, but inside the hotel looks very dated, and I was disappointed in our room, which was a deluxe double. It was very basic, and in need of a refresh, although it seemed more updated then the room our friends had. The view was great, but our patio was far from ideal with 3 other rooms connected right to it, separated by a few planters, but very uncomfortable if other people were outside. Our room was also extremally noisy. All of the noise from the restaurant, came up the stairway right to our room, as well as the elevator, and hallway in general. There were also 2 weddings held at the hotel while we were there, and our room was right above where they were being held. There is no soundproofing at all. The staff were excellent, and the view was fantastic, but I would choose a different hotel if I were back in the area.

This was an amazing place near Sorrento. We got a hotel room with an ocean view and a balcony and the view was amazing we always had a beautiful sunset out our balcony. The staff was very kind, gave us a welcome lemon slush drink and even showed us to our room and the amenities of the hotel and our room. They were always there for anything we needed assistance with and were very kind and helpful. Only downside was the wifi wasn’t super reliable in the room. They also had a free shuttle to bring you to Sorrento city center which was very convenient! Next time we come to Sorrento we are definitely staying here! Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Corallo. We were welcomed with an aperitif on the terrace overlooking the Gulf of Naples. We paid for a room with sea-view with balcony and were not disappointed. The daily breakfast included in the room rate was excellent. Parking is available for 15 euro/day. There is a shuttle to downtown Sorrento or you can walk (about 20-25 minutes).

She recommend my daughters and I take a cooking class at Villa Pane. One of the best things we did on our vacation. The views from everywhere in the hotel are spectacular. The walk from the hotel to the center of town is short and like everything in Sorrento, beautiful.

Beautiful, newly-renovated property which is in a great location outside of the main center of Sorrento. The staff were very polite, friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The hotel has great amenities (infinity pool, bar, breakfast buffet, etc.) and incredible views of the sea. The 20 minute walk into Sorrento city center is nice, quiet, and very safe. There is no parking on-site, but valet parking is available and is relatively inexpensive.

Only stayed for one night before moving across the street due to a flight change. Room was small but adequate. Service was great until checkout. We only stayed one night but spent 450 euros at the hotel on meals and drinks (in addition to the room rate). When it came to checkout at 11:00AM we asked if we could hang out by the pool for a couple of hrs, drink and eat lunch (spend more money at the hotel). We were told we would have to pay an additional 30 euros per person in order to have pool privilege after our 11:00 AM checkout. After we told them no chance well just go across the street and hang out by that pool while we wait for our room, the receptionist flagged us down because we forgot to pay for a bag of potatoes chips (3 euros). I understand the hotel needs to make money and things need to be paid for but common sense would probably dictate otherwise. Spending 450 euros on food and drinks in one night, you would think someone would figure out that we're probably the type of guests that you would want to keep happy (and have them return). It's a shame that one employee / hotel policy ruined an entire stay - almost comical. I guess the moral of the story is that 5 star customers shouldn't be staying at 4 star hotels after all. Definitely won't be returning.

Amazing location but that's all. Cleaning the room means only making the bad and empting the trash. Our ashtray was not emptied for 3 days. The dust could be seen in many places in the room. There are events (weddings) organised there, just under our balcony, with live music and a lot of noise and nobody told us about that or asked if it would bother us. The stuff, with very few exceptions, was very unfriendly. Altough, the location and the view are amazing.

Good hotel and good location for us as we liked walking into Sorrento but there was also a free bus if not walking. Very helpful staff, good facilities but the pool is much smaller than it looked. It was also very cold as we went in October and it wasn't heated. Lovely rooms but could do with a kettle to make drinks in the rooms!

Very clean and well decorated hotel wih fabulous views of the Bay of Naples. Staff were great. The only negatives were that the room we had, a Classic with partial ocean view, was way too small, with only 18 sq metres. The next size up, wth 22 sq m and a private balcony, would be better, but was unavailable for our 6 night stay. The only other complaint is that the shuttle to downtown had many large gaps in its schedule, which made it very inconvient at times.

The view of hotel overlooking the water was beautiful. That's it. The downside to this hotel was that it was a little far from the restaurants and shops, the rooms were tiny and are not sound proof, most rooms are close to the elevators which made it hard to sleep because of all the noise, they had a no iron policy so most of my clothes were wrinkled and I could not wear unless I pay for their service which would be ready in a day or two.

Beautiful hotel, stunning location, friendly staff

The superior room was set on the sea view with amazing scenery across Naples Bay. You can see Naples, Vesuvius and the meditteranean.
The hotel staff were lovely and couldn't be more helpful. They even helped celebrate fathers day and brought along prosecco and fruit to the balcony.
The location has so much to offer for visitors and the local food is absolutely delicious.

This hotel is beautiful and we enjoyed our short stay. The breakfast on the terrace was very enjoyable and overlooked the Adriatic. The infinity pool was perfect for my grand daughter and her parents to swim in. However, the beach that is available to use for an extra cost was not what we expected. The sand is black muddy and full of rocks. The swimming area of the beach is small and not very appealing.

We had a few hiccups on the air conditioning but the management resolved the issue quickly. The manager Asante was very helpful and listened to his guests. The hotel is beautiful. You must see the sunset as it is absolutely amazing. The hotel shuttle bus was brilliant and only 5min from main square Sorrento. The train station Sant Agnello was only a 10min walk which we took to see Mount Vesuvius.

High expectations not met

The views were the only spectacular thing at the Hotel Corallo. The staff was friendly upon check-in, but when we found insects in our TINY room, they said they would come in to spray. When there were still insects after they were treated, we were told that's just how it is there. They did not offer to change our room or do anything else to remedy the problem. The staff was also very strict with the pool area, not letting you have more than 1 towel per guest, and threatening an exorbitant fee if we were to lose a towel. NO guests who aren't hotel guests are allowed at the pool, even if you have family visiting for the day staying for a few hours, they will make them leave the pool (speaking from experience).

The wifi was reliable, the shuttle to town was a plus, and the breakfast was good. But considering how high the room rates are, I expected a much friendlier experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Corallo. We had a sea view room which was amazing. Whilst the hotel does appear to have frequent weddings this did not cause us any inconvenience. There was a handy free shuttle bus to and from the town centre, however this could have been more useful if it ran more regularly. We walked into town several times which was an easy 20 minute walk.

The pool area was great, with spectacular views.

Would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Sorrento.

Beautiful hotel

This is the second time we have been to Hotel Corallo, the first being 3 years ago. They have freshened the place up a bit and there is now a pool. It's not really big enough to swim in but lovely to sit in the cool water overlooking the Bay of Naples.

Everyone at the hotel is really friendly and helpful, and the place is just too beautiful to be true.

Travel is really easy. Sorrento is a 25 minute walk or the main train line is 10 minutes and from there you have Pompeii, Vesuvius, Herculaneum, and roman villas within a 45 minute journey.

About an hour in the opposite direction is the Amalfi Drive. Not as thrilling as expected because of the traffic. Tight corners at a snails pace isn't very exciting. But Positano, Amalfi & Ravello are worth a day trip. The cathedral at Amalfi is well worth the 3 euro charge.

Really nice hotel with a beautiful location. Not too much of a walk to town (10mins), or there is a shuttle bus facility. Rooms are nice as was the food.

Pool could be a little bigger, especially if there are any children staying, but overall we were happy with our stay.

We had a wonderful stay! The staff was friendly and helpful. The adjoining beach/Marina is a must for a restful afternoon. We had a four person suite we shared with our teenage kids. Their beds were a little too firm, but the hotel was happy to accommodate with some extra padding.

The Good and Bad -- Hotel Corallo

Hotel Corallo had some real positives and negatives.

The hotel view from the pool and dining areas is just unbelievable. The hotel is on a cliff that looks back towards Pompeii and Naples.

The room... was barely bigger than the mattress. Had to turn just to walk around it.

The waiters, pool staff, etc were all just fantastic.

The front desk team always seemed hassled, and were hard to find many times.

The hotel is not quite walking distance to sorrento if you're wearing something other than tennis shoes.

Lastly, the trip is tough if you plan to take the train from Napoli Central.

In summary, the pictures will be beautiful. But the memories will be how difficult of an experience it was.

Avoid at all costs

We arrived late on Saturday night, was welcomed by the night porter, received a complimentary drink and taken to our room. Then it all went downhill. Our room had major issues with the air con to such an extent that the racket it was making prevented us from sleeping. We complained to the porter and were moved temporarily to an upgraded room for the first night. As we booked standard and not for an upgraded room, we were placed in another standard room, truth be told was no different to the upgraded room. During the transit some of our items went missing. After threatening to call the police and discussions with the manager the missing items miraculously appeared and were apparently in the lost and found box all along. No idea why this wasn't checked first! We had packed up and were ready to go home at this point. We were told for our inconvenience that we would be placed in an upgraded room for the rest of the stay. The upgraded room was no different in size to the first room with the aircon slightly better but we still could not sleep with the knowledge that items could go missing and the aircon being very noisy. The reason we stayed at this hotel was for convenience as the bride and groom and number of wedding guests had booked in to the same hotel. To top this off the manager did not seem fazed and was very arrogant and when we asked to waive the bill at the end of the stay he wasnt interested. He told us we paid for a standard room and this is what we got. Never again

Great view of Sorrento, Great hotel

The location may seem a little far from the Sorrento center, however, it can be easily be accessed from a nearby bus. The hotel gives a great view of the city. The pool and outdoor spaces are great and the hotel is done extremely nice, especially for an Italian hotel. Would strongly advise staying here as opposed to directly in the center of the city, where other hotel's that are on the water are ridiculously expensive.

Beautiful hotel with stunning views. Staff are very professional & extremely friendly. Gennaro who tends the bar is a fantastic member of staff & a real credit to the establishment. The reason my wife & I like the hotel so much is how peaceful the setting is I feel if you stayed in the middle of Sorrento there would be far more noise due to all the hustle & bustle of every day life. Looking forward to returning to our second home. I would like to congratulate all those involved with the Corallo.

Idyllic views spoilt by constantnoise disturbances

Despite the friendly staff and fantastic views, this hotel has some drawbacks. The room walls are so thin that people next door feel like they are in the room with you. The perpetual wedding ceremonies [one each afternoon / evening] may be over by the time one goes to bed but are really disturbing if your planning a siesta. The cleaners facilities were right outside our door with shouting and chattering constantly in the mornings - so in reality we didn't relax very well even though the environment is idyllic.

Luxury hotel with beautiful ocean view

Stayed here on our trip to Sorrento. It is approximately 1.5 miles to sorrento from San't agnello. Very quiet area. Hotel provides a shuttle into sorrento several times a day eliminating the need for a rental car or excessive walking. People were very friendly. Held our luggage while on an excursion after checking out. Nice bar in lobby. Pool was beautiful. Great Stay. wish it had been longer

There is a shuttle bus that leaves at specific times from the hotel that takes you to the main square. About a 20 minute walk to the main center if the shuttle is not available.

A 3 Star Hotel beautifully disguised as 4

This hotel is beautiful at every corner from the view of the Mediterranean to the black and white marble floors that line the hallways and and the terraces etc. however once you start to utilize the hotel, you notice issues with the services and amenities and you wish you splurged for an extra $125/ night elsewhere. The breakfast is terrible, especially considering the part of Italy you are in which is known for the fresh fruits and obsession with sweets and baked goods which are major parts of an Italian breakfast. The beach is somewhat dirty (plastic bags in the water etc) and costs $10 per person per day! There are other hotels in the area with free beach access, I have stayed at them so I know. I knew something was wrong when the manager of the hotel didn't know what time the elevator to the sea closed. Of course, because it was privately owned by someone else and you had to pay for that also! $2 per person robbery. The staff is also very disconnected and distant, and to be honest they are kind of zombie-like. The most human person there was the head maid, but of course she came with flaws. Every day I would have to wake up with her screaming and complaining about something as she cleaned the room next door, or took a phone call in the hall from reception which would then be followed by huffing and moaning. the restaurant also closes at 9. Others in the area close much later. Basically, as a rule of thumb, they do the same thing as everyone else, except a lot of people

Perfect hotel with breathtaking views...

This was our first stay at the Corallo & it definitely won't be our last. We received a warm welcome on arrival & even the restaurant manager came to introduce himself to us which I thought was nice.
We were lucky enough to have the superior room on the 5th floor which had a large terrace. The room was very spacious & spotlessly clean. We had a side room where we could chill & relax. The views from the terrace were nothing short of breathtaking. All the staff were incredibly friendly & professional they really did make you feel like you had been going there for years. My wife & I can't wait to go back in the near future.

Amazing hotel - would highly recommend

We loved Hotel Corallo. It is a bit outside of Sorrento ( one mile walk or 5 minute hotel free shuttle). The staff and hotel manager were exceptional. We were upgraded from a standard room as the air conditioning was not working - at no cost. (Most of the rooms have been renovated except the one that we were assigned- but it is also planned to be renovated). The patios and balconies are outstanding with beautiful sea views. The hotel breakfast was great. We also had an amazing dinner at the hotel restaurant. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel Corallo .....more 5 Star than 4 Star

We spent 4 days there last week and really enjoyed every minute of our stay, the new pool was a great addition and was a god send as the temperature was mid 30's..Beautiful location and great service from all the staff. Thanks to Hotel Corallo reception who organised a very prompt and well driven car back to the airport for 100 euros..

We traveled around Italy for our honeymoon and stayed at Hotel Corallo for three nights. Hotel Corallo is around a 20 minute walk away from the main area of Sorrento. They provide a shuttle service that is quite infrequent and it stops at a lot that is a 5 minute walk away from the centre of Sorrento.

The best part of the hotel is it's view, it's right by the cliff and the lobby has a stunning view overlooking the water. We had issues with the cleanliness of the room and our safe was not working.

Excellent Hotel in Sorrento

Almost everything was excellent about this hotel. We experienced the best (exemplary) customer service of all our stays in Italy. The front desk people do their jobs exceptionally well.

The hotel is beautiful, well-kept and situated with great views of the sea from almost any room. Breakfast was wonderful. Access to the beach included a lift down the cliff (nice option versus the steep climb—although that is good too), but the beach space actually belongs to another hotel, so you pay a small fee for the lift service and for the use of the private side of the beach—which is well appointed.

They were installing a nice looking pool when we were there, but I believe it was completed the day we left, unfortunately.

The hotel is located just outside of Sorrento, but it's an easy (flat) walk into town. We did this multiple times. The hotel also offers a shuttle service (which we also used) at various times during the day.

Two small complaints about the hotel:
1) The wifi service in the room was not great. It was better in most of the other hotels we used in other cities.
2) As in other hotels, the electricity shuts off when you leave the room (it's activated by your hotel card key), which is fine, but the power outlets also shut off. This means we couldn't leave anything charging in the room while we were out. Just a minor inconvenience in an otherwise wonderful hotel!

It was a beautiful hotel and the room was also perfect. The staff was helpful and kept our luggage while we took a tour to Pompeii. I enjoyed the weddings and the live music that were held the both nights we were there but I could see if you were a light sleeper or needed to go to bed before 11PM it could be annoying, if so bring earplugs.

Fabulous!

We had a wonderful stay! Good breakfast. Walking into Sorrento is quite a distance but they have a shuttle van in the morning and evening. Can walk easily into Sant' Angello. Pool wasn't done yet, but for a fee you can access the beach area at the hotel next door. Gracious and helpful staff!!!

Great views and service

We stayed 2 nights while visiting Sorrento for a friends wedding. The service at reception was friendly and nice, breakfast was superb with views over the bay from the terrace, the shuttle to the centre of Sorrento was quick and the driver friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and the bathroom spacious. We plan on returning to Sorrento for a further longer visit and will definitely be staying at the Hotel Corallo again.

This hotel was in a perfect location for us as we spent time on the Amalfi Coast and the Island of Capri. The room was comfortable but a little small. The bathroom had everything we needed including great water pressure. The breakfast buffet and dining room was wonderful. The views are spectacular. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Good hotel with some slight problems

The hotel is situated on a cliff overlooking the sea. You eat breakfast on the hotel balcony, which is very scenic. Room is comfortable, and hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast itself is also good enough. A few less great points: there is really no free parking around the hotel, so you practically have to buy the parking from the hotel, and they charge you. Their parking lot is also 3 minutes walk from the hotel, and not so convenient to get in and out (you need to stop traffic while you wait for the gate to open). The walls in the hotel are probably very thin, because every time someone anywhere in the hotel slams a door, drags a chair, etc. you hear it all over, so do not plan to sleep after 7:30am. In addition, the hotel is about 2km away from the center of Sorrento, where all the restaurants are and the pier to Capri. We stayed for 3 days, and all three days we had to walk these 2km back and forth (the hotel actually had a shuttle to Sorrento, but it was not that frequent). Altogether, although some rough points, it was a good stay in a picturesque place.

Beautiful Stay

We had a beautiful stay at Hotel Corallo. The pictures on the website are accurate, this is a very beautiful hotel set on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean. Staff were wonderful and extremely helpful - especially Francesca, Fabiana, Enza and Luigi - even packing us a breakfast when we departed early on our last day. Hotel is very clean and modern and is about a 20-30 minute walk from Sorrento in a quiet neighborhood of San Angello. There is also a shuttle to Sorrento city center that runs about 10 times a day which is very helpful. Views are extraordinary from so many different terraces at the hotel. Definitely get a sea view if you can manage. Our room had an amazing view, decent beds, air conditioning, very nice private bathroom, hair dryer, safe and stocked mini-fridge. The breakfast was great each morning and served in a very beautiful room with views of the sea. We could not have asked for more and really loved the hotel and staff!

Great stay at gorgeous hotel

Had an excellent stay. Staff was attentive and very responsive to our needs. They really provided excellent service. We stayed at a large room on the first floor with a balcony and a seaview and it was breathtaking. Very enjoyable just to sit, have a tea and stare out into the ocean. There are also many comfortable public areas near the lobby with excellent views you can chill at and have a drink. The rooms were very clean, well decorated, and were very comfortable. I really liked their design. Breakfast was excellent with good selection of cooked foods. If I ever came back to the area I wouldMy hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Great for romantic getaway.

Spectacular Views

The hotel is perched on a cliff overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and from the moment you enter the lobby you are completely enchanted by the spectacular view and the lovely, elegant and bright decor of the sunroom. We were upgraded into a deluxe room with a walkout patio to enjoy the amazing views! The room was spacious and clean with coral (consistent) themed decor. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast spread was delicious everything from eggs, bacon, sausages to salads, olives, cakes, croissants (and other fresh pastries) fresh fruit, cereal and yogurt. The servers were very attentive and friendly. There are many terraces and patios with lounge chairs to take in the gorgeous views and the sunroom is a wonderfully cosy place to curl up on a sofa and read a book or enjoy the stormy weather. Overall , this was a wonderful experience. There were only two things that could use improvement the first one is the Wifi speed. It's quite slow at times, which wouldn't have been a problem if we weren't trying to get a big project finished while we were staying here. We highly recommend you leave your work at home.:)

The second small mention would be the noise level. With beautiful marble and hard tile surfaces, sound carries throughout the hotel and can get rather disruptive to a guest hoping for a quiet room to read, work or relax. Simple solutions like putting felt on the feet of wooden chairs in the rooms so they don't make loud screeches and thuds when slid across the tile floors in neighboring rooms, and those sticky little rubber bumpers inside closets and drawers would help immensely.

Worth the money

aside from a couple foreign hairs in the bathroom on arrival, my stay was perfect. The staff goes above and beyond. If you ask them a question or to perform a task, each staff member takes care of you him or herself. Even if it's not their job. Total customer service. The hotel rooms are lovely. The views are awesome. I had lobster stuffed ravioli in the restaurant and it was tied for my favorite meal in Italy. I would love to stay here again.

Staff extremely friendly and offer a comprehensive guidance & recommendation. Same like for all Sorrento people. Corallo just need to fine tune the BMS setting of the A/C, its a bit noisy fan and occasionally stops functionning by night until clicked again.
