Talk about over delivering! My original thought process was to snag an inexpensive place to rest my head and snag a quick shower while traveling through. What happened was a spark of nostalgia that I have never experienced before. I was brought back to traveling with my family in the 1980s. Not only was this place extremely clean, the customer service and communication was off the charts. I felt like I was experiencing a red carpet roll out. Indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, hot tub, game room with old school pinball and pool?!?!?! C'mon! I am planning a trip now, just to go back and stay at this location and venture around the Dells. This will always be our stop if we have to drive through again, but now, I am planning a trip to stay a few days. Thank you for over delivering beyond what I thought is possible in 2025. My daughter and I couldn't stop telling everyone about it. One of the highlights of an amazing trip. I mean seriously, who wants to plan a trip just to stay at a motel? Well, for the first time in my 46 years of life, I get to proudly say, \"Me!\"

Highly recommend, even if you consider yourself \"fancy\" and only stay at the highest end and cleanest hotel chains. I strongly suggest taking a leap of faith and booking this motel.

The Blackhawk looks like an old school motel from far away (shape and layout). It seems as though they recently did a bunch of remodels and upgrades. Everything was immaculately maintained. Beds were comfortable. The hot tub is kind of small, but fortunately it was not very busy. We really enjoyed being able to pull up right outside your door and taking two steps to unload your car. Also, the bars and restaurants and chopping along the strip are a very quick walk away. Very affordable! We will be back!!

If you are looking for a throwback to the early 80's motel, this is for you. It was such a delightful stay. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a tub/shower. The bathroom was extremely clean! There was a table with two chairs. The only drawback was hearing the traffic. It wasn't enough to keep us from recommending this motel.

Not knowing anything about the area, we stayed here because of great reviews, location and reasonable rates as opposed to the resorts. It has been family run and expanded for decades, and they have renovated and kept up the property. We stayed in one of the two bedroom cottages at one end of the campus, and it resided in a lovely walkable and quaint neighborhood, near a small park, set back from the main road that goes through town. It was spacious, clean and private. There are also motel rooms on another part of the property but we didn’t explore those. Highly recommend especially if you prefer to avoid the massive, commercialized and expensive resort lodgings.

Room was fantastic for the price, we got the Jacuzzi room. Everything was clean and tidy, and I think the Jacuzzi tap is on a different water line than the shower, because even after we started running out of hot water from our showers, the tub was still running hot. TV has a few channels on Dish network, the signal is choppy at times but has a lot of good programming on. The bed is comfortable too.

On the downsides, of which there aren't many, I mainly didn't like the parking situation. Someone parked a Suburban in the space across from mine and it took a little maneuvering to get back in my parking space. It also would be nice if there was a small pamphlet or piece of paper on the wall showing how to use the Jacuzzi, because nothing is labeled on it and it's powered by a timer built into the wall that you have to twist to turn on.

Overall, I highly recommend. I do not regret booking here one bit and we ended up extending our stay one more day too.

My stay at BlackHawk motel was great! I honestly do not have anything wrong worth pointing out. The room and bathroom both were clean and smelled good. It was spacious for a room with a king size bed. The overall hotel itself was great. I enjoyed being able to sit out in front of my room, it was quiet and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again when I visit Wisconsin Dells.

What a gem! Loved this place!

Wonderfully charming classic motel that has been lovingly maintained and renovated by the same family since 1945. Perfect if you have smaller kids- 2 pools with slides and a small arcade is plenty for kids 12 and under. Close enough to walk to the candy strip, but far enough away that it is quiet at night. A Kwik trip is across the street that has pretty much anything you might need that you forgot. The designated parking spots mean you're not hauling your stuff across a large resort, and though smoking is not allowed in any rooms, you are allowed to walk right out of your door to a table and chair provided to each room. Just let them know and they'll provide an ash tray. Much easier than having to trek across one of the large resorts every hour. They even have a brick barbeque area, and sell charcoal and lighter fluid on site. It's in a covered area that can be used even if it's raining. I just really cannot believe how great this place was for the price. Great for families, friends, meet ups of large groups because the pool and picnic area are centralized. Just really well designed and cared for by multi generational family owners that want people to have a good time at a reasonable price.

This is a real lly good place to stay with kids. They let th kids have fun and ecerything isn’t over-regulated and burdened with rules. Two pools, discounts to a few places and some free admissions to a couple others. Please get new bedspreads, they are old and pilled and need replacing with maybe some fresher color to brighten things in the room. Have stayed here several times.

Our A/C wasn’t properly working in the room, so our room never felt cool in July. Bed was hard and uncomfortable. Very disappointed on the stay with Black Hawk having over 9 star rating with Expedia. I regret booking a room based on the high rating. We will only book at the well known chain Hotels from now on.

This is a very old & large motel. Room had 2-3 steps up to small porch area with no hand rails. Making it difficult to get luggage to room. The room was extremely small. Parking for our room was across the street on a busy road and appeared to be the only unit with street parking. Requested another room due to safety concerns and was told no other unit was available. However, question this statement due to observation of no guests/cars in nearby rooms - which had parking in front of the rooms. Air conditioning was loud and went from cold to warm temperatures throughout the night - making it difficult to sleep. Checkout staff was unfriendly and dismissive. Overall, older motel with small, noisy room, safety issues with steps/porch area with no hand rails and off street parking on very busy road. Positive: room did appear clean and shower area looked to be recently remodeled.

We rented a two-bedroom two bathroom house. The house is very clean and well laid out. Location was a short walk to the north strip in town and right across the street from a QuikTrip gas station. There was an indoor and outdoor pool on the premises. It had all the amenities we needed for our four night stay. I would 100% stay there again if I spent another few days in the Dells in the future.

I loved everything about Black Hawk Motel and Suites. It was nice and clean, the staff was pleasant, our room was so cozy and the jacuzzi tub was such a great addition. I highly recommend this place. We plan to visit again.

The Blackhawk was a fantastic place to stay for our couple getaway! The staff was great. Wherever we were sitting outside our room, the housekeepers always asked if we needed anything for our room, and if we were comfortable. The pool and hot tub area were remarkably clean. We will definitely be back!

Every thing was very nice. It is an older Hotel, but very clean. It did NOT look shabby as some older hotels do. The bed was ok, but definitly needs new pillows on the bed. I am sure if we had returned to the Hotel earlier the staff would had given up better pillows. All in all I would stay here again.
