The room was spacious. The bathtub water was warm not hot. The bathroom had no ventilation and only a sliding door for privacy. The \"king\" bed was two small beds put together, and you could feel the bedframe poking you in the middle where the two beds met. The balcony was great.
We found a fake glue-on eyelash on our blanket. After telling the hotel that we found it but didn't need a fresh cleaning, all they said was sorry.
The tap water is not drinkable, and the hotel will only give a single water bottle at check-in, and then tell you to buy your own water from the local grocery store.
Water was 6 euro per bottle at the restaurants.
The food was good, but limited and very expensive. We visited the local plaza (5 minutes walk from the hotel) every day for all of our meals because the prices were half those of the hotel.
The area is extremely isolated. It is great for the peaceful beach and only that. You will need a car to see the rest of the island, due to the large hills.
We rented a car from the hotel and booked \"a small car\" in advance. They confirmed we would have a VW polo. When we arrived, they had booked it for someone else and replaced our booking with a large SUV. We refused to drive it on the small roads, and they did not offer to compensate for the situation this caused us. We had a small Hyundai for 1 day since that was all the time it was available for. We had initially booked a car for 4 days.
\"Angel\" at reception was kind. The rest left no impression.

The town has very few evening options, so there is a need for reasonably priced, “everyday” meals to be available at the hotel, past 5pm.

We had a wonderful stay at this Villa Resort. The room was clean, with daily housekeeping. The Villa we stayed in was fairly new and didn’t have many kitchen amenities, such as frying pan or pots. The grounds are well kept and the beach is amazing, EXCEPT one of the beach staff were rude. My suggestion to the resort is to ASSIGN chairs for the week, to each villa. This way, you don’t go to the beach and he tells you “ sorry I’m full” at 11:00am. We could clearly see empty chairs but he was dismissive. Assigning would solve this problem. I get the feeling that $$ may play apart in this, if you pay extra, they give you better seats. There is no reasoning how they give you different seats every day. I think they could cut out a lot of the BS by assigning chairs ( and I don’t care if I’m in the front row either!). This would be easier on the staff, less stressful, and free them up for beach service. Improve staff by improving the process.

We had a beautiful view of the bay from our room and patio. The grounds are well kept and our room was spotless and well appointed. We had a short walk to the beach, which was beautiful and the water was very calm. Highly recommend.

My room was nice enough but didn't overlook the beach, as requested. We were misled as to when the hotel restaurants were open and actually serving food/beverages. We were subjected to loud music at breakfastime, had limited access to the food, although others were allowed to help themselves, there was not much choice of food/drink and the waitress was rude and obviously in a hurry to get the tables cleared for lunch. At the bar, open at 10am, the bartender was doing shots with customers! Really?????

This was a nice place to stay for a couple of nights but I would not stay longer because there is just not much around in the immediate area. Only a couple of restaurants and one of them is the hotel's. The staff were difficult to communicate with over messages before arrival but in person were lovely, especially Astrid who was super helpful. The facilities and room were good. The beachfront access was great. Overall, I am glad that we stayed here.

If you are looking for a slow, relaxing vacation, this place is perfect. Everything you need is on site (restaurants, beach chairs and towels, pool). The room was pretty good, plenty of space and storage for two people. The room was cleaned daily which was great. The only con to this place is the drive there. It’s quite the winding road that leads you to the hotel, a bit scary to drive at night. So if you’re looking to stay put, it’s great. We drove to Grande Case almost daily for food, so if you need more than a (pricey with a small menu) on site restaurant or the Italian place next door, you will definitely need a car. Tons of great food in Grand Case. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The beach was great, the staff was kind and helpful. It seems like they may still be recovering from hurricanes and storms so there is some construction in some rooms but it didn’t really bother us.

Love Anse Marcel hotel, the only thing we don't like was the hundreds of flies at the kitchen while breakfast. Maybe if they use screens for the kitchen it will be better. Other than that, everything was great! The beach and the service was perfect. Lobster was delicious!

This resort is a gem . The beach is a dream - paradise , flat water with a mountain on each side - like a cul de sac , gorgeous . The restaurant on site has amazing chefs , although the waiters are hot/cold . The le gourmet evening restaurant has superb food and ambiance . Overall, will come back !!!

I like the quiet/reserved feel of the property...The BEACH is GREAT! (clean & not too wavy) and very SAFE. The onsite Restaurant is VERY delicious and well prepared.
It can use a bit more Lighting and Directions around the property and directions but after about 2 days ...it is OK.
It is not in a busy area ..for restaurants and shopping but easy to get to GRANDE CASE (15min drive) and others.
Staff was VERY helpful resto & directionds etc...I plan to go back there SOON!!

The property itself is a bit \"off the beach\" with only a few of the buildings offering views of the water. There is a small walk to the beach.
The room was nice and clean but getting appropriate items such as soap and tissue refills and proper glassware for the kitchen were minor inconveniences.
The property felt like owned condos with a property management group facilitating the work of the guests. If party is what you want go to Grand Case or Orient Beach. Aside from the adventurous drive to Ansel, it is very easy access to Grand Case, Orient and Friar's for easy day trips and dinners. All in all I'd go back.

Beach was steps away and beautiful. Staff very friendly. Great dining options. Stayed in Room 709, it was dated and poorly designed. No chest or drawers to unpack your clothes into. Single straight backed chair and narrow wooden table. No couch or chairs to relax into. Faced the ocean but being on the first floor any view was blocked by shrubs. Again staff, dining options and beach were great, room itself suitable for sleeping and little else.

I was staying at this hotel in January… During my stay I was robbed…
All I know I is that my jewelry box was in the bathroom, and I took out a piece of jewelry to try on and placed it on the counter. I decided to step out to the main room for a second to grab a different necklace. At this moment a cleaning lady stepped into the bathroom and walked out right after as I was returning to the bathroom. I returned to the bathroom to try on different chain and noticed that my two van clef necklace that were sitting on the bathroom countertop were missing. The only person who was in the bathroom beside me was the cleaning lady. I tired speaking with the hotel manager yet there was little help offered with no real solution! I would not recommend this place! Please stay away from this hotel!!

Very nice room with view, on a corner, comfortably furnished. Loved sitting on the patio for morning coffee for a few hours! Very comfortable bed, slept well with sleep masks. Some of digital readouts like temperature are bright. There are many amenities within walking distance. A map would be nice when first getting in to find your way around. All I all a very nice experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Staff is wonderful. The buildings are still under reconstruction from the hurricane. Beach is safe wide clean uncrowded. Only negatives are the hill to drive into Anse Marcel& limited dining options other than the 2 resort restaurants(which are excellent) and the 2 next door at the Marina. We went to dinner at Gran Case many nights. Convenient to grocery shopping at the Super U nearby.

The breakfast and lunch at the beach restaurant were worth it if you bypass the waitresses’ attitudes of grandiosity. The people attending the lounge chairs were very kind. The people attending the beach beds lacked customer service, especially the French blonde girl, she was unprofessional and lousy. Make sure you book a beach spot on a chair or bed in advance! Our sea view was not like in the picture posted, nor the beach bed. Everything else was good. On our second night our bed was actually clean - finally! It’s a shame to have had to complain about sand in out bed - yuck! Customer service is not their strong suit.

We spent an amazing week at Anse Marcel Beach Resort. We went around the island to several highly rated beaches and their beach beats them hands down. The service was superb and they have two amazing restaurants on the property. I highly recommend this resort and we will definitely come back.

Everything about Le Domaine Anse Marcel Beach Resort was spectacular. The staff were so friendly and helpful from even before we arrived. The location was absolutely gorgeous- the view of the ocean, hills and sandy beach. The drinks and food were perfection. I have to say the hill to get there was daunting at first but after the first time up & over it was actually fun to drive and the views simply breathtaking from all sides. The marina was a short walk away and had cute shops & the Italian restaurant was pretty good as well. I hope to be back soon!

The restaurant/bar on the beach served wonderful food for breakfast and lunch, and an excellent assortment of drinks. The marina adjacent to the property has three restaurants, a small grocery store and some small shops. It also offers various watersports options. Lively Orient Bay is only about 4 miles away.

We absolutely love this hotel that is steps away from probably the best beach in St. Martin, especially if you like calmer waters to swim. Their restaurant is actually on the beach. The rooms are very modern and spacious, plenty of lighting, and importantly, very good air conditioning.
After 3 nights at another hotel with lifeless air conditioning in their rooms and a cramped space, I changed to this hotel after meeting the property manager Stephane, who presented choices of beautiful rooms that were available.
The entire crew at the hotel were courteous and friendly, including the wait staff, restaurant managers, and beach staff. There was never a feeling of being treated differently for not speaking French, but just the opposite.
The right hotel can make or break a vacation, and this one made it wonderful for me and my wife. We will absolutely return to this hotel, and hopefully by this coming winter.

The room had the most uncomfortable wooden chairs and the bed was hard as a rock. No Kleenex or paper towels or cream rinse was supplied. The kitchen did not have basic utensils to even heat up leftovers. The best part of the resort was the wonderful restaurant with spectacular views. The beach was beautiful and calm. Beautiful, laid back with stunning sea views at one side and green mountain hills on the other. I resided few minutes walk away from the beach. Dinning is a healthy light french cuisine at the sea front restaurant with efficient and skilled waiting staff but it comes at the price. I spent 100 euros a day to eat there. And Don Perinion champagne at 540 euros per bottle. Anna the waitress is a petite ball of fire that I truly befriended.Facilities are at great standards and everyone was friendly. Almost everyone was French but most people spoke English which was a relief to me. I took an island tour for a day and to he rest of the week I spent chilling sunbathing and swimming. The sea was my biggest magnet and I spent 2 hours a day on intensive swimming. There were no fouls I can think off hence I give this location 10/10.

The photos do not tell the story. This is not a high end hotel as they boast. The buildings and grounds are in outrageously bad condition. One room may be in tact but the room next to you may be without doors and furnishings. Many rooms are boarded up with plywood. People are clearly living in some rooms and the grounds become their backyard. Drying laundry etc. The focus is clearly on the restraints and beach which do seem lovely but it was not enough for me to stay in the destruction they call a luxury hotel. If they were honest and the cost reflected either their struggle or disregard for the accommodations ok but if you think you are going to stay in their photos you will be disappointed.

This property is absolutely gorgeous, right on the beach. There is a marina adjacent that has some shops and a few restaurants. There is a nature reserve adjacent where you can hike to a private beach. It is a peaceful, fairly secluded location. You can have the hotel order taxis to visit other areas of the island but it’s pricey and a fair distance. Best to just enjoy time on the beach where there are staff who will bring you food and drinks. Overall, a truly gorgeous property with many open air spaces - a very restful location

Although not all inclusive, you could spend most of the time at the resort for a low key and enjoyable vacation. Very good restaurant on the beach. Grounds need attention after hurricane damage. Careful and skillful driving required when going over the steep hill to enter and leave the resort.

There were still several boarded up rooms that hadn't been repaired from the hurricane. As a hotel guest, you weren't given any preferential access to the beach or dining facilities. You literally had to compete against the locals for reservations and access. We ended up eating elsewhere for all but 1 meal.
