Our 22 spacious one and two-bedroom suites offer luxurious tropical rattan furnishings. Enjoy our beautiful pool and sun deck, along with air conditioning, cable TV, direct-dial telephones, in-room safes, full kitchens, private balconies, and free Wi-Fi.
Two of our two-bedroom suites boast over 600 square feet (approximately 60 square meters) of living space, complete with a full kitchen (four-burner stove, refrigerator, and cooking utensils) and a nearly 100-square-foot (9-square-meter) private balcony. Each has one bathroom.
Additionally, we offer twenty one-bedroom suites, each approximately 300 square feet (30 square meters), featuring a full kitchen (two-burner stove, refrigerator, and cooking utensils) and a private balcony of nearly 50 square feet (5 square meters). These suites also have one bathroom, and several offer interconnecting doors.

The market nearby had limited provisions for single use. No elevator, but reception was helpful getting my big suitcase up the stairs to 2nd level. Big one- bedroom suite. The hotel was great. Pool was much appreciated. Great local breakfast place within a 2 minute walk and full service, great food restaurant within 7 minute walk, however no sidewalks and sometimes lots of traffic on road to restaurants.
Hotel was clean, well kept and staff very friendly and helpful in arranging tours of the island.
You can walk to Divi Beach, but not pleasant - too hot and again no sidewalks and takes more than 20 minutes to get there if you don’t take a wrong turn in the roundabout!
But for the price, L’Esperance was well worth it especially pre or post cruise, where you will be doing all your beach lounging at your island destinations.

It's clean, quiet and friendly with a very accommodating staff. There's a grocery store just down the street and a great restaurant a couple blocks away. It's just a little off the beaten path which is a good thing. There's a small school near by and we could hear the kids singing.

L'Esperance is a lovely hotel, very comfortable and clean. We stayed only one night prior to a sailing trip on St. Martin. I enjoyed the pool. It was a short walk to Mark's restaurant that had delicious food. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating for our group of eight.

We stayed here one night before boarding a self chartered sailboat, and we stayed another night after returning from our charter before going to airport to return home. We enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. The apartment was very nice - great furnishings, a microwave, full frig and two burner stove top. All kitchen utensils and pots/pans were provided. We were very comfortable with the combination of an A/C unit in the bedroom and a large fan in the living area. The property is not on the beach but it has a beautiful pool with lounge chairs and shaded tables/chairs. L'Esperance is within walking distance of a Carrefour supermarket. We enjoyed this quiet and relaxing property.

Not in a great area if appearances concern you but we've been to the island many times so no bother to us...Rooms are very clean and well kept as are grounds... 1 bedroom nice but only on small closet poorly located beside night table making access difficult... Keys on long metal handles needed to lock/unlock main door from inside and out also a pain...Staff very friendly and accommodating.

Some things you should know
Missed our cruise in St. Thomas due to weather. Needed a room on St. Maarten on very short notice. Found L'Esperance on Hotels.com the night we were leaving while we were eating dinner at DFW airport waiting to catch our flight.
We arrived late at night. It was dark, the neighborhood was sketchy though we never had an issue. The room was on the second floor. There is no elevator nor is there a bellman. We had to carry our three suitcases and two carryons up the stairs to our room.
There were two rooms plus a bath. The front room was very large and nicely furnished but was not air conditioned. The bedroom had a king bed and was fine and it did have an air conditioner that worked fine, except we had just turned it on when we arrived so it took a while to cool down the room.
The hotel itself is very nice, with a court yard, flowers and very pretty landscaping.
We enjoyed our stay but felt fellow travelers should know about the neighborhood, lack of elevator, and limited air conditioning.

I booked this hotel because expedia listed it as being the closest one to the airport (0.65mi). It was not, and this was quite troublesome as i needed to be closer instead of further away. The hotel itself was decent, but i am very dissatisfied as a customer of expedia. I will definitely opt for other websites for future travel arrangements.

This hotel is a good hotel at a reasonable rate. Good for the tourist that rents a car, not a good hotel if you are going to walk. Rooms are clean, a full kitchen is convenient, the customer service is outstanding, rates are afordable.

Was there only overnight. Suite was very clean. Furnishing appeared to be plastic wicker, bright white and neat looking. Light greenish lighting in bedroom very unsettling. Slept on living room couch plus the TV was there. I did not see a hair dryer nor an iron. Perhaps have to ask. . Bring your own food provisions (they did have a beer) as there are no stores/restaurants to walk to (pitch dark streets) if you are fresh off a late plane and are starved. Can order in Pizza. Multiple rider taxi from St Maarten airport driver refused to give rates to any of us nor did he understand where I was headed. Took other passengers all up in French St Martin and then realized, 45 mins later, that I should have been dropped off first. Hotel said always get driver's number and they would report him. He overcharged by $10. The staff members at the hotel are very, very nice. Lovely attitude and sympathetic. The next morning in the day light it showed a nice mountain view from one side, however not in a picturesque neighborhood. The inside hotel property, however, is very lush and picturesque.

This is a very nice motel once you find it. Most of the streets on this island are unmarked, so getting around was hit and miss. We just got off of a cruise, and they were so kind to let us check in at 12:30. The rooms are very clean and large. The first night we had no soap or shampoo, so I figured they just didn't do this (different country.) The next day, however these items were placed by housekeeping. King bed was very comfortable. They require you to turn in your key each time you leave the motel, and this seemed a little strange to me. The only room that is air conditioned is the bedroom. The front room was pretty hot in spite of two fans going full speed. The only TV in the room is in the front room, so you either sit in the heat and watch TV or sit in the bedroom doing nothing. There is a beautiful 2nd floor patio you can use, but it was too hot there to be really comfortable - even in the evening. Some people have said this motel was in a bad area of town, but I think that most of the island is questionable except if you spend some big bucks at one of the resorts.
