The property was amazing and well kept. Multiple restaurants on site and down from the property made it perfect location and no need for a car. Taxis were readily available at the lobby when we needed to go anywhere. The onsite grocery was great for anything that we needed and was one of the best features of the resort. It had a great selection of alcohol and food items if you wanted to eat in room. Prices were very reasonable and didn't feel like they were taking advantage of the guest at all. Now the best part was the bars. There seem to be a happy hour close to the beach from 1 to 5 at either the Hilton property next door or the beach bar or pool bars so there were no issues getting drinks and lay on beach. The only complaint that I had was we had a room up the hill and the walk was pretty bad for a 60 year old. I would pay the difference and get closer to the beach in the future.

Simpson Bay is the perfect location in SXM. It's walking distance to restaurants, clubs and shopping. I will say make sure you know if you're staying at the villas or condos. There is a difference and you may be walking up hills and not aware, as well as the modern updated rooms or not. The beach is beautiful, staff is friendly, free shuttles are an option when in service, and several pools on-site. My one con is that there is a daily fee to use the gym; I was not happy about that.

Simpson Bay Resort was superior. They exceeded all my expectations. The place impeccably clean, staff was so friendly and accomdating no matter where we were in the resort. The around the world boat tour on the santino was a lot of fun. We enjoyed the shopping trip to Philipsburg. Lunch and shopping along all the street shops, many designer boutiques. AMA's jewelry store owner RT, she was fabulous! I would recommend highly at trip to Sint Maarten at Simpson Bay Resort.❤️❤️❤️

Stayed at the Simpson Bay Resort for our first trip to St. Maarten. It was a great stay! Easy access to popular restaurants and nightlife. Great beach views and access as well. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend, especially for a budget friendly option!

Room was spacious but once the Murphy bed is down its a task. But the toliet flush is loud as ever. It also had a sewer smell the whole trip in bathroom after we showered. The beds are comfortable and the shower is good pressure. Some staff was so rude. But front desk staff wqa nice.

Our condo was ready even though we were early arrivals. The bellman transported us and our gear to the condo, he verified that all keys worked properly before leaving.
The housekeeping manager was just finishing her inspection when we arrived. The unit was clean, supplies plentiful, and everything worked as it should. Bonus, there was an ice maker in the fridge with the bin half full of cubes already.
All staff on site were pleasant, polite and helpful during our stay. We will definitely be back, and promote it with family and friends

We had a great stay @ Simpson Bay! From the moment we checked-in, staff was very friendly and accommodated our room request; we had spacious room that was very well-maintained and had beautiful view of the bay. Room service was fairly quick on a few occasions and delicious. In addition to the restaurants on-site, there is a grocery store just outside the resort and overflowing amount of great cafes and restaurants. Well-worth the stay!

Visited Sint-Marteen for the first time for my friend's 40th birthday. Love that this resort was pretty central. Close to restaurants, casinos, rhum tasting etc.

Staff friendly and helpful. Shuttle service was great. Felt safe. We had breakfast included and it was delicious. Beautiful views. Will stay again but in a room with a view.

I reserved a room of a certain type but when I arrived they gave me a horrible dark dank single room on the ground floor with a sliding glass window that had no lock - and to make matters worse, the room's bathroom was outside the room in a nearby hallway. I REFUSED the assignment when I saw it.

To the hotel's credit, they immediately put me up for one night in a MEMBER'S available unit - B404 - an ocean facing suite on the highest hill which was lovely.

We had a fantastic time at this resort! Our room was in the perfect location in the marina building, ocean front and also beside a pool and bar. We had the breakfast buffet every morning, it was delicious with fresh fruit and a mix of different items every day. Service here was great and the staff are amazing. The resort is located within walking distance of bars and restaurants, also a few supermarkets. The market garden supermarket is about 10min walk but they have a much better selection.

The marina room we had was perfect. It was a mini apartment. Property was easy walking distance to groceries stores and restaurants surrounding property. We also lived the onsite property guarded parking. Would definently stay and recommend this property to anyone.

Simpson Bay Resort is a beautiful, well-maintained property with immaculate pools, cheerful staff, and a very convenient location. From our balcony in the Bougainvillea building, we could see Simpson Bay, Kim Sha beach, and even Saba island in the distance. Unlike many popular resorts, there were plenty of beach, pool, bar, and restaurant chairs available whenever we wanted them. We never really had to wait for anything. even traveling with toddlers. I would absolutely stay at Simpson Bay Resort again. And again.

We loved our stay. The room was beautiful, large and clean. Air conditioning worked great. We had a Studio with kitchenette, which was actually a complete kitchen with full size fridge/freezer. It was well stocked for 2. Coffeemaker, microwave, dishes, pans, utensils. We used the grocery store at the bottom of the hill. Loved the porch w/chairs and convenient drying rack. We were at the top of the hill which was very steep. But some helpful ladies told us right away to call for a shuttle. We used this regularly, not being as fit as we used to be, lol! It would have been tough without it. Our stay included the breakfast buffet at La Patrona which was fabulous!! So many options-from American to Caribbean fare. Plus fruit, protein options, juices etc. Loved it!! The view of the bay, sitting outside, was my favorite way to start the day! The head hostess lady there each day(missed her name😕) was incredible. She knew how much I liked the view and always gave us a table closest to the water. The resort is huge and goes up a steep hill. There are pools all over so many are super quiet. The beach is crowded of course but to be expected. Loved the Coco beach Bar Happy Hour! The ocean was quite stirred up when we were there but actually had great snorkeling right next to the jetty behind the bar. Saw fish, 3 cool cuttlefish/squid, and even found a conch with a small octopus in it! Had a car and explored the island. Hotel was close to where our boat trips left as well. I Recommend it!

Be sure to lock your valuables in the safe. Wife kept her wedding rings in a small jewelry bag that was kept in the dresser since she didn’t want to wear them for breakfast/pool area. Come back and room was cleaned. Getting ready to go out to dinner that night and wedding band is missing. Unfortunately no proof that cleaning team took it, but it was sure a coincidence.Report it missing, but we already knew it was gone. You never think it will happen to you until it does. Icing on top of the cake is when I went to refuel rental car and gas station charged credit card 400 dollars and then gave me receipt for another charge for the gas. Did not see notification until we were back to resort.

I enjoyed my stay at SBMR. We visited 3 of the pools on property and the beach. We didn’t eat at any of the restaurants, however the rooms had a full kitchen so I was able to cook breakfast some mornings. The property had plenty of parking available if you get a rental car. My only issue is the layout of the property. It’s not walkable so you really don’t get to see the entire hotel only the area your room is located, however they do provide shuttle service.
The hotel is centrally located near night life, plenty of restaurants and grocery store.

The hotel itself was average and clean, the kids were happy because they mainly wanted to enjoy the pool and the sea — and those needs were met. What really affected our stay, though, was how we were treated by some of the staff. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced this before in parts of the Caribbean, and it’s disappointing every time.

There were moments where we were clearly ignored in ways that others were not. For example, the beach staff refused to set up an umbrella and chairs for us, telling us to find an existing one at the back, while other guests were being set up right at the front by the water. I needed to be near the shoreline so I could watch my kids safely, but that courtesy wasn’t extended to us.

Similarly, spa staff walked around offering menus to everyone except us. We had actually planned to book treatments, but after being overlooked like that, we decided not to.

Despite these experiences, we absolutely LOVE St. Maarten — the island itself is wonderful, and we always enjoy being there. It’s just disappointing when moments like these take away from what should be a joyful visit, especially given that the Caribbean is my own heritage and yet I’m made to feel unwelcome while enjoying the progress we’ve all worked hard for.

Nothing great or bad to say about it… but the view from the table and the beaches in general, or the pools!!! Absolutely beautiful!

My kids and I enjoyed our stay! We got a 1BR Deluxe Suite and our view from the balcony was beautiful! Convenient location, within walking distance (for active people) of various beaches, restaurants and activities such as Captains Rib Shack, Skip Jacks, and Lotus Night club. Shuttle service to/from the main strip and around the resort was prompt, with the exception of one time our entire stay. The room decor is a little dated, but our room was clean upon arrival. Although I declined housekeeping for the length of our stay, they were present on our floor daily. The breakfast included was decent. Staff from front desk to shuttle drivers and servers were all polite and accommodating. My kids want to give a shoutout to Mr. Mac on the shuttle! Pools were well maintained and swim up bar was a nice touch.

The property is not new and some things are showing that - bathroom amenities, kitchen appliances, furniture, etc. overall the room's size is big and really good for a family of 4. You don't feel crowded. Property has a beautiful beautiful view on the ocean. Ocean and beach clean and always easy to find chairs. Elvis was the best taking care of us. Overall we loved it. Everyone genuinely want to help you. Everything super chill.

The resort was wonderful! Lots of pools and restaurants and the beach was lovely. All of the staff that we encountered was fantastic as well.

It is conveniently located a short drive from the airport and both capitals with ample safe parking. It was also an easy walk to lots of off-site dining options.

My only regret would be not trying any of the boat excursions listed on the back of the activities guide - maybe next time.

The rooms were clean. I paid more for suite hoping for a better view and was on the first floor with virtually no view at all. The staff said they were fully booked and would try again in a couple days to relocate us but we never heard another word. There were very few staff members that appeared happy in general and the female security guards were extremely rude every single day. Cabs are not readily available at this resort, and the security guards act like it’s a problem to call for one. The restaurant/bar on the beach is overpriced and those staff members are rude too. You also must get to the beach by 8am if you want an umbrella, otherwise Elvis will claim it’s too windy to put one up. Overall, this resort should be a three star at most and I would never go back. The locals in Aruba and Jamaica are FAR MORE FRIENDLY than these locals.

Huge sprawling Americanised resort - buildings are very tired and rooms dated. So many rules on pool towels/ parking/ check out at 10am and wouldn’t extend even though there are hundreds of rooms. Breakfast not great. Staff very friendly is the only good point. We only stayed for one night as we had to find somewhere last minute as our flight was changed.

Staff were friendly but not exceedingly helpful. Someone could have taken 2 minutes to show us to our room. Instead we struggled to find the place in the rain. Also, when we entered the room we noticed a message that they would fumigate room next day and we climbed to have that done. The property should do that when place is vacant. Does not make for a great impression when one first arrives. The room is designed nicely but a little tired and needs to become modernized. I had assumed that the gym would be included but not so. One has to pay extra for that. Lastly… room cleaning seems very erratic. We ran out of towels and had to ask for cleaning. Would not rate this anywhere near a 9 but more like a 6.5.
