Great resort in a wonderful location. Nice to have a suite w kitchen. Lots of good restaurants, big gym and grocery store on site and lots of other amenities nearby. The beach is beautiful. Wonderful place from which to experience island life, close to airport. Staff are helpful. Totally recommend.

What a beautiful resort, so clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful!
This resort offers so much for everyone. Location was also awesome!! My husband and I took our 4 kids. Ages 21,21, 18 & 10 everyone had the BEST time!

The resort was wonderful! Lots of pools and restaurants and the beach was lovely. All of the staff that we encountered was fantastic as well.

It is conveniently located a short drive from the airport and both capitals with ample safe parking. It was also an easy walk to lots of off-site dining options.

My only regret would be not trying any of the boat excursions listed on the back of the activities guide - maybe next time.

The rooms were clean. I paid more for suite hoping for a better view and was on the first floor with virtually no view at all. The staff said they were fully booked and would try again in a couple days to relocate us but we never heard another word. There were very few staff members that appeared happy in general and the female security guards were extremely rude every single day. Cabs are not readily available at this resort, and the security guards act like it’s a problem to call for one. The restaurant/bar on the beach is overpriced and those staff members are rude too. You also must get to the beach by 8am if you want an umbrella, otherwise Elvis will claim it’s too windy to put one up. Overall, this resort should be a three star at most and I would never go back. The locals in Aruba and Jamaica are FAR MORE FRIENDLY than these locals.

Huge sprawling Americanised resort - buildings are very tired and rooms dated. So many rules on pool towels/ parking/ check out at 10am and wouldn’t extend even though there are hundreds of rooms. Breakfast not great. Staff very friendly is the only good point. We only stayed for one night as we had to find somewhere last minute as our flight was changed.

Staff were friendly but not exceedingly helpful. Someone could have taken 2 minutes to show us to our room. Instead we struggled to find the place in the rain. Also, when we entered the room we noticed a message that they would fumigate room next day and we climbed to have that done. The property should do that when place is vacant. Does not make for a great impression when one first arrives. The room is designed nicely but a little tired and needs to become modernized. I had assumed that the gym would be included but not so. One has to pay extra for that. Lastly… room cleaning seems very erratic. We ran out of towels and had to ask for cleaning. Would not rate this anywhere near a 9 but more like a 6.5.

We weren't able to get into our room until after 4pm. The staff seemed unimpressed with our annoyance. Although they verbally expressed their regrets for the delay, they did not seem at all sincere.
The room was clean and neat, no complaints there. The facility is massive, having 4 pools and many residents around the walkways, but never giving a crowded or chaotic feeling. It's a nice place if you like spacious resorts, but not for those who prefer a cozy more intimate envionment.

Rooms are big and spacious, but not cleaned very well, we stayed 2 weeks and it seemed like a bother to ask for towels which was sometimes forgotten to replace when they serviced the room but other then the room problems it was great, the pool bartender and activities lady were amazing, room service was also great and security staff! I would go back but prob staff in a different area of hotel.

The beach was beautiful, the breakfast buffet was definitely worth paying for. The pools were all lovely. I loved that you didn't have to get up early to get a beach lounger. You just had to give the guy $1 and he would bring a chair and umbrella. The only improvement would be the attitude of the waitresses at the breakfast restaurant. They were a bit unfriendly. However the staff at the beach bar were lovely.

We never did the breakfast, but we did order a room service pizza couple times which was more affordable than eating at the restaurants nearby. It would be nice if there was music around the pool room service was great. Our rooms were clean zero complaints on that. The roads around the property definitely need work, but overall, we definitely enjoyed our stay.

Check-in could have been a little more detailed ie resort map so we knew where courts, towels etc were. Beach was smaller than I had anticipated but there was always chairs available for use. Beach bar food and sports bar food was excellent. Aqua Marine catamaran tour around the island was great!

Simpson Bay Resort very possibly has the best front desk team on the island and beyond. We arrived in the chaos of many canceled flights and all personnel were on their game then and during our entire stay. Bravo since service on SXM seems to have really declined. We were impressed with SB’s employees in all areas and we went to all areas over 4 days.

Choice of restaurants and entertainment here are exceptional, with more to find in the immediate area and down the mountain, w/in walking distance. But it is steep so prepare to be a goat. I do think they have some transportation tho we had a car and did a lot on foot.

Pools, health club, casino, daily events, variety of restaurants and bars, some shops, really everything is good. You can find it all here.

We were at the end of a 3 week trip, stayed in studio. Bed was great, shower really good, had all we needed including a kitchen and comfortable outdoor chairs, but felt it was very dated and space-wise perhaps best for pilots or back-packers. Just an opinion. Enjoyed ourselves.

The downside is SB, like so many resorts and hotels on SXM is very dated. Clean and what you need, but dated.

We only received housekeeping services 2 out of 6 days we were there.

We thought we booked a five star hotel as per the rating displayed. Certainly the price we paid was for a five star accommodation. In our case, it was a ripoff.

We arrived to an old looking resort in dire need of a renovation. Old furniture and amenities.

The sharp smell of mold rivalled with the awful odour from the bathroom.

There are several buildings to this resort and only the Villas are renovated. Many buildings are on a steep hill which will present a challenge. Also, the area overall is too crowded and not enjoyable.

Room was in good condition but dated. Staff was nice. Hotel shuttle service ends at 10:45 pm and you can't walk to room from the street because the resort is on a hill. Inconvenient to have to get a taxi right in front of the resort to bring you up the hill, and taxi can't bring you to your room only to the security gate. So you still have to climb a bit of a hill depending on where your room is.
