If you reserve the king-sized one-bedroom suite with a kitchen that does not offer ocean views, please be aware that the actual room may differ from the photographs. I expressed dissatisfaction with the room because it did not match the description provided in the pictures. The room depicted in the photographs was larger, and the kitchen area was modern, although it was taken at a different location that is not the actual residence of guests. This discrepancy was a significant disappointment for me and the management, who were not responsive to this matter did nothing to resolve the issue.
Additionally, be mindful of the unpleasant odor that permeates the resort upon entry. It resembles the stench of boiled, rotten eggs. The source of this odor remains uncertain, but it is possible that it originates from the ocean.

On the bright note, the food was okay.

Enjoying the Caribbean is always a crap shoot, Oyster Bay at this time of year was definitely a mix of good and bad. The counter staff was horrible but the bar and cleaning crews were so great!!!! I think this was the first time I have been hung up on in years but the actual staff that did the work were amazing. Poor customer service but great service, if that makes sense. If you want to relax this is the place, if you’re looking for a little action I don’t recommend Oyster Bay at this time of year.

Staff was some of the most friendly people on the island. Biggest downfall was the insane amount of seaweed, cannot swim in beach and seaweed left a horrible smell even in our room we could smell it. They try to bulldoze it away so it’s not their fault it’s just the unfortunate beach condition.

The hotel is isolated with 2 restaurant options, both great. Pool is beautiful, beach unfortunately full off seaweed and unusable to no fault of the resorts. Car is a must if you want to see the island. Overall we were very happy with resort and would return.

The pool is a big draw.
The property is maintained well and everyone is friendly. Everything definitely runs on „island-time“, so just remember that you are on a vacation and have plenty of time.
I personally did not enjoy the quite loud life music (of questionable quality) at one of the two restaurants of the property.
The adjacent beach is currently swamped with seaweeds and therefore unusable but that is just a temporary condition.
Overall, a great stay!

Lovely, quaint, and serene place. Majority of the staff are amazing and friendly. It’s about 30mins to the airport. They have restaurants and shops on property. If you want to have a tranquil time this is the place. The beach is not the best; but you can go to other beaches close by. Nice place to relax and enjoy.

We cannot say enough about how wonderful this resort is! We were greeted warmly upon arrival and had our room keys within 5 minutes. We needed a crib and it was at our door in 5 minutes. Jeremy the bell hop was an absolute delight and ferried us and our groceries around when needed. Wanda is a \"rock star\" at the pool for service and so kind and lovely! Our room was gorgeous. It was a private rental in the lighthouse and needed a little TLC inside but the housekeeping kept it spotless every day. The amenities are awesome. Beautiful clean pool and the lighthouse has a private rooftop pool, hottub, gym and lounge. We are already planning next our return for next year!

Pool area was exceptional, that was first and foremost. Property felt secure upon entry, had a gate that was managed by security 24/7. First time on the grounds it was a little difficult finding the front desk but after a couple minutes it was very easy to orientate yourself to the grounds.

Included a morning breakfast that was a coffee, juice, and croissant or toast; anything else cost extra.

Taking a star off because we returned to the room after being gone all day to our door swung wide open. When housekeeping came through they forgot to latch the door shut. Had a split second thought we were robbed, as my laptop was missing but the staff had just moved it off the table while cleaning. That 3 seconds of carelessness could have derailed our entire trip to paradise...it shouldnt ever come to that.

I’m pretty sure I paid for a newer upgraded room, but I wasn’t in a newer room. The property really needs an update. The pool was the best part. If you’re not in the hotel all day long then don’t worry about it, but if you are going to stay in the hotel, I would look at other accommodations.

If you are planning to take a trip because you love the beach this is not the place to go during our entire state. The beach was covered in seaweed and unusable from what I understand. It is like that for a large part of the year. The staff in the front desk area are terrible and uncaring. They ask you to take a tour of the property in order to try to convince you to buy into the property. They tell you it’ll last an hour. They strung us along for three days and would not leave us alone about it. I was there as a hotel guest not an order. This resort is about making money off of every area. The guest has to use. They offer you trips and activities and everything adds up money upon money upon money they pretending to create an environment, which is Family, but it is not it is about tourist surrendering their money. The only area that I was involved in that was well worth paying for was the taxi driver by the name of Nate. He was an awesome individual that restored my faith daily in people there I’m not saying that all the staff members were terrible, but they will be short snappy at you if you ordered food in the restaurant it took almost an hour and a half for you to get it. I found out that they put a service fee on everything and the service fee did not even go to the person who were serving you so if you go there, please be sure to tip the waitress and waitresses. This was not enjoyable and I will never go to oyster Bay again.

The ladies at the activity desk and the staff at the restaurant are very friendly and helpful. The property is showing signs of aging, and needs some maintenance and repairs. Our specific unit needs some upgrades and replacements (mattress, chairs, faucets, etc...). The lighthouse as a whole is great, as there is a more private gym and pool facility.
The property itself is in a great location, being away from the hustle of everything. Getting through traffic to get there sucks, but it's nice and quiet. There needs to be some effort to clean their section of Dawn beach though.

The room was on the second floor facing the courtyard/mountain view. St. Maarten has so many beautiful scenery that I do not think the room placement matter. I believe there are some changes need to happen such as cleaning staff having access to fresh linen daily so they can make up the room properly. We have a toddler with us and she got some chocolate stained on both blankets, ideally in other resort, the bed would have been made with new sheets, however at this facility, the housekeeping staff fixed the bed by flipping the dirty sheets inside out to hide the stained. We were very disappointed and I do not think this is the housekeeping staff fault as the facility has no elevator and I've only noticed delivery of bagged towels for each room daily to change out (there should be a linen closet in every building to fix this problem). The room are older looking and we encountered mold-like smell which initially we thought it just needed some air out but after contacting management, they send two maintenance staff to wipe down the entire room (every crevices) which fixed the problem temporarily. It makes us wonder if the rooms were thoroughly cleaned between each guest. The facility has ample parking and security at entrance to give us peace of mind. The pool is large however cold (not the facility fault). The complimentary breakfast, read the fine prints as it is not what you think. I find that misleading and ended up with a hefty breakfast bill.

We staying in an ocean view room and it was great! Clean, had everything we needed to be perfectly comfortable. We greatly enjoyed having a full sized fridge and kitchenette so we could make our own food. It was lovely to sit on the patio and enjoy breakfast as we watched the birds and listened to the waves.

The pool area was beautiful! It looked like you were swimming in the ocean with the infinity pool. We didn't venture to the beach, it looked lovely but with the Atlantic exposure on this side of the island we chose to go explore some of the beaches on the Caribbean side of the island instead.

The staff hotel and restaurant staff were very competent. We used the hotel suggested car services (taxi) and met Juan the first day, he turned into our unofficial tour guide and restaurant suggester for the our stay on St. Maarten.

We also enjoyed meeting the other guests who were at the resort, many of whom had been back to this resort and St. Maarten regularly for 10, 20 or even 30 years. This is a lovely property and even though we were in the older part of the complex, we were very happy with our stay at Oyster Bay.

Most everyone was helpful and pleasurable to deal with. Check in process quick but i did not know until i checked in the property is also a timeshare, which you could chose to get a presentation or not. I thought it was stictly a resort so feel like tgat wasnt fully disclosed. Property seems a little dated but had been maintained very well. It was nice having apt size fridge/freezer, microwave and stovetop but we didnt use that. There is a little store on site because the place isnt close to a grocery store. So if you are staying for a while and plan on cooking your meals that would come in handy. There a casual dining place and a more upscale restaurant on the property because nothing too much else in the nearby distance except a place call Big Fish, which is good but expensive. Pool was nice and view was great.

I ended up at the resort after my other rental had a power outage. I was upgraded to a one-bedroom which was nice, but no ocean view. The property is a touch outdated but I suppose that is reflected in the price. The staff was great, the pool was nice and the Veranda Bistro was a fun vibe with pretty good food. The sheets are pretty rough, not soft at all. Also, there were no outlets directly next to the bed to charge phones which would have been nice. The continental breakfast that was included was toast and a croissant, too many carbs. It would have been nice to have some fruit. I would stay again.

The room, the staff, the level of cleanliness was all fantastic. The food however, is not great and it’s expensive for what they offer. There are three restaurants on the property but as this is a timeshare stay their idea is that you will cook your own food. Those not using timeshare weeks don’t necessarily want to cook. There are outside options but you will need to rent a car. know before you go.

The good things about this stay were; hotel was clean and tidy, staff were absolutely amazing, great food close by and a quiet location.
The not so good things; we paid for a continental breakfast and were given coupons for the same, we were not allowed near the buffet. We had to be seated. Some days we were given just one croissant and some days we were given toast aswell. This is NOT a continental breakfast. This was part of the reason we chose the hotel. So we ended up spending extra money getting a decent breakfast at the bar down the road or paying for a bigger lunch. It was so embarrassing. We felt like the poor kids at school who are segregated because they cant afford a meal.
They also put us in a room around the courtyard which was perfectly acceptable but the noise from events in the courtyard is overwhelming. People getting drunk at the bar late at night or musicians playing so loudly you cannot sleep.
The only reason I've scored them so high is because the staff were amazing otherwise i probably wouldnt recommend it otherwise

We have been to St Martin 5 times, this being our first stay at Oyster Bay resort. We loved the property and its proximity to Orient Beach and Grand Case. The layout of the resort is great, with a beautiful infinity pool as well as access to the beach. Unfortunately, there was significant sargassum in the water and on the beach which is unusual for this time of year. We did rent a car so were able to visit and enjoy beaches that were not affected. There are two restaurants on site, each with different menus and reasonable prices. The hotel also offers happy hour daily with 2 for 1 drinks. With our reservation a continental breakfast was included daily which consisted of toast, croissants, coffee and juice. The downside of this was waiting on line in the morning at the Veranda to get it to go which was a slow process. Maybe having a continental breakfast area set up so guests can help themselves would make it easier to get their continental breakfast. Our room was clean and we were pleasantly surprised to find a large refrigerator with an icemaker. Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay at Oyster Pond Beach Resort.

The resort is older but the staff are constantly cleaning and upgrading the resort. The biggest plus is the absolutely beautiful pool and the view from it. Just stunning. Both on site restaurants were great. Good quality food at a reasonable price. The Infinity Restaurant was a bit slow on service. Live music pretty much every day and activities to keep you busy. The resort is a little off the beaten track so you need a car or get the hotel to book you a very good price taxi. I would definitely go again.

Some areas like the store and bar at happy hour could have some upstaffing for assistance and to prevent lineups at times. Felt there were not enough staff at times in these areas and the one person just simply could not keep up.

At OBR the apartment suites were impeccibly designed and decorated. Please note that at this resort there exist only one building that is Handicap equipped with elevators. The beach is private and small.
As far as the location, it is located on the other side of the island, but still on the Dutch side of SXM. That said if you book in high sesaon, you are looking at a ride of 30 + minutes to and from the airport.
Staff at OBR was on point! The restaurants, The Infinity (lambchops) and the Veranda (mini Tuna bagette and BLT mini baguette)were absolutely to die for.
Of course with anything else there's always a \"you cant please everyone\".
Drinks fell in the later category.
A BIG COMMENDATION to HOUSEKEEPING STAFF, Althea.
Front Desk Associate Tenika, and Associate support Nelson. You three made our stay MOST MEMORABLE.

The ladies at the front desk are not really what you could call welcoming.
They also need to know that if a guest comes over and ask a question, it is because they need clarity, not because they're dumb or trying to take on more than they paid for, that's the impression i was given. And they started laughing and talk behind my back as soon as i was stepping out.
The free breakfast this place advertise is a joke, be ready to pay for your eggs, bacon, sausage.
Room appearance is old, for a resort of that price the TV they have is a joke.
The Water in the shower was really slow as well.

Positive:
The restaurant, the bar, the pool, the hot tub, the outside view is great, and the people that work on property are amazing. (The front desk ladies are not)

Exceptional service from the moment we arrived. CJ took our bags and escorted us to our 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite with patios on the top floor overlooking the bay. Beautiful beachfront location with rooms facing beach on one side and bay on the other. There are daily planned activities, live music in the evening, a wonderful spa and gorgeous infinity pool. We had body scrubs and massages with Raysi and Miledy two caring, talented professionals. We were celebrating my sister’s birthday. Bethany at the front desk along with our therapists went out of their way to make her day special! Rooms are modern, spotless and well planned out. Location is on the Dutch side of Island, private and quiet yet very close to the French border. If you don’t mind driving uphills and around turns rent a car at the airport and you will find it’s easy to get around all over the island. Can’t wait to return!

The front desk staff is a one star. Checking in was in issue. Supposedly our room was given to another couple and that was told to us. So they couldn’t find our information. One of the staff was aware the girl checking us in had made the mistake. Basically waited till we were there to prove it to her. We would go on throughout our trip not knowing if someone would be racking up charges or if the other room was better. Our room although large was, quite noisy (Courtyard). When I went back to the front desk to ask if I could pay for an upgrade, I was told no. Just no, nothing else. I asked when a manager would be available to ask if I could try to do anything else. I was told 11, maybe 12 who knows. So, I put it to bed and sucked it up. As for the rest of my 10 day vacation; this place is clean and the food is good. Nice maintained beach and some really friendly people working here. JUST NOT THE FRONT DESK. Which is a shame as it could have jaded the rest of our stay.
Sometimes asking for beach towels was met with a sigh. Too bad really.

Staff were not very friendly. Seemed like they didn't want to be there. We had to check-in twice because they lost our paper work which makes us nervous because they took a copy of our Creditcard and passports plus a form we filled out with address.
Our bathroom window would not close. The rooms are small and old. The king bed was great. The food was ok. The pool was nice and infinite part was very nice. The hot tub area had paper and trash floating in it but nice besides that. All in all, we would not go back.

Oyster Bay Resort is the perfect place to stay on Sint Maarten! Beautiful accommodation's, very friendly and helpful staff, 2 fantastic restaurants, nightly activities (live music, karaoke, games, themed dinners), and a short distance to all of the beautiful French beaches! I highly recommend staying at Oyster Bay!

We had a nice and peaceful room . With beautiful views on the Caribbean Sea. The room was clean every day with fresh towels for showers and a pool towels as well. We had a very relaxing and very nice time at Oyster Bay Beach resort!!!
