The hotel did NOT have the reservation we booked via Hotels.com. Fortunately, the La Plantation had a room available; however they did not honor the price we had booked on Hotels.com and ended up spending $40!!! I felt the hotel should have honored the price (regardless of the class of room. With that said, La Plantation was nice. We loved the bar and restaurant.

Our rooms were ready as soon as we arrived. They were so spacious, clean, comfortable and as close to the beach as requested. Pool was open until 10 which was great for my kids. 5 min walk to the beach, shops, restaurants, market and everything else you can use. Breakfast was a little basic (eggs, bacon, cereal, etc) but we had fresh fruit, juices & croissants. Overall we couldn’t complain about anything and would stay here again if we visit the island

I have only stayed here for my four visits to this island. In this gated community, parking available, beach chair & umbrella use, cute studio unit/ kitchenette with ocean view, pool, breakfast…all included. My only complaint was during low season they don’t replenish breakfast items. You have to ask for whatever is not out by time you arrive to eat. The best thing is most all units have been refurbished with greater sense of style. Car is a must to site see but rental car is offered here.

The cottage was lovely and spacious enough for 2 people. We enjoyed the large wrap around patio. However, there are no outside door handles on the patio doors which made closing the doors from the outside difficult. That was odd. The beach village is just down the road with plenty of excellent restaurants! You can rent a car at the reception desk which we did. This was an added bonus. Very convenient! Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much at La Plantation.

For instance, I asked at the desk for ice and the lady went out of her way to find a bag for me free of charge. Only minor exceptions. They give you a gift card at check in that reads for 'One free cocktail' but the lady that runs the bar refused it and told my wife that is for 'the juice that goes in the cocktail, not for the cocktail'. The next day I asked the bar lady for a bottle of water so I could make ice. (The desalinated tap water is ok to drink but not the best). She gave me the more expensive brand bottle and charged me $10. The bar is owned by her, not the hotel. She was an unpleasant person. But the other bartender employee and restaurant staff were very nice. It would be a much better experience if they would just get rid of that bar owner/manager. Great location. Orient Beach currently was full of Sargassum weed but a short drive to other beaches which had none. We found renting a car was best and the cost is less than the taxi ride from SXM so it pays for itself in that sense and you can explore every place..

The hotel was wonderful! The pool area and restaurant had a great vibe and the food was great! The beach is literally a 5 minute walk and Orient Bay Beach was perfection. Waves, but not too rough. Beautiful turquoise water. The beach service was great as well! La Plantation has an arrangement with a beach club, so chairs and umbrellas were included with the hotel stay. The staff were all so friendly. Our room, a master suite with a sea view, was spectacular. Large room, large bathroom. We loved it. Will definitely be back! Renting a car is definitely a plus and I hightly recommend doing so. It's a quick 10-15 minute drive to a local supermarket, and to Grand Case which has great restaurants and shops.

Recent stay- March 2024. Resort has many duplex units in plantation style. Very nice accommodation with ample room, stocked kitchenette with basic dining needs. All have private veranda and grounds are very nice. A 10 minute walk to \"The Villages (shopping/restaurants) and expansive beautiful beaches. La plantation has a small bar and outside dining area overlooking pool. Breakfast buffet in mornings - reservations for dinner if you choose to dine -amazing food prepared by one of the best.

Just okay, prepare to hike.
We were taken to our room at the top of a hill on a golf cart . Ita a steep driveway so not for anyone physically challenged in anyway. Asked for twin beds, they had to adjust the beds after arrival. Door handle broke off on day of arrival maintence had to come. Water pressure was messed up one day and completel6 stopped while in the shower. Apparently city was working on it. Room was spacious . Separate toilet room was nice. Large balcony. Even though the hill was inconvenient it may make for a better view compared to the lower rooms. Finding the beach was sometimes challenging. Also be prepared to carry large keys. Breakfast was decent. Overall location was good. 5 to 15 min walk to restaursnts and beach clubs.

The staff was wonderful. The rooms were clean and well kept. The doors to the balcony had no handles in the outside so when you were out there it was impossible to close the doors. This led to insects getting in. My husband was all chewed up and uncomfortable most of the time. We also were disappointed that the pool bar was not open during the day and didn’t open until 6 pm. I will say the food at the restaurant was amazing!

We very much enjoyed our stay at La Plantation. Our unit was clean and comfortable with spectacular views. The staff were friendly and helpful, the property well kept. Beautiful Orient Beach, as well as the village stores and restaurants are walking distance, but would be a bit of a hike for some, however, a short car ride for them. We enjoyed the morning breakfast each day. We have stayed here before, not been back to SXM since Hurricane Irma in 2017. We are happy to say the Island is great as always, La Plantation has never disappointed, we would gladly visit again.

I spent 4 nights property check in was smooth be aware they only take visa or Mastercard no American Express or Discover accepted , you get free chair and umbrellas if you go one of their restaurants by the beach however that day wind was strong but everything went good orient bay beach not the best one went to grand case anse Marcel very calm waters over there , also another thing of relevance front desk closes at 8 pm only watchman there from 8 pm til 8 am, realized my phone not charging despite I brought my adapter but front desk was nice and borrowed me one , the cleaning is good room always was cleaned when I came back every evening however there’s lots of mosquitoes and gnats also so ants and at night time I saw little roaches in bathroom and the last day I saw middle sized brown roach I think because rooms are on ground floor and lots of vegetation so bring your mosquito repellent to not get bitten but they were nice and put some flying insect repellent in room also there is a mosquito net in the bed also my room came with nice patio and sun beds which really nice they have lots of nice flowers and shrubs in property however they need more care , every day got breakfast they were very nice since I can’t eat pineapple and prepared me a bowl full of mangoes that was nice from then , the only thing is the same breakfast every day eggs bacon ham/cheese yogurt breads and fruit sauce topping overall decent breakfast , nice pool overall can said good

Only \"not so good\" issues are that the bed was not comfortable, and in need of repair. On my wifes side, it was clear that some of the support (coils?) have collapsed and offered no support. Talking to others on the resort about this, they offered similar concerns.Mattresses should be replaced.

The room was really spacious and romantic. It came with a full kitchen and a balcony. The downside was the water was only hot in the shower for 5 minutes. My friend took a warm shower, I took a cold shower everyday due to their small water heater. Make sure to check the water temperature first.

The location is excellent with a short with a short walk to Orient Beach, and access to several other good restaurants within a short walking distance. The staff was very helpful, particularly with helping us print a couple of documents. They have a great buffet breakfast.

It was my 2nd time staying at La Plantation. Its super clean and private with a great view. They gave me the exact same apt. I had 2 years prior. I was very happy with that villa. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with was they told me I got a free breakfast everyday but the restaurant said she was mistaken and my reservation didn't include breakfast. They let me eat that day so everything was fine. Staff is friendly and they rent cars at the property so that's very convenient.
