Spend the extra money and stay elsewhere. This hotel is VERY dated. The bathroom was disgusting. Most of the staff treated us as though we were an inconvenience. Especially in the restaurant. The food was decent. The beach is non existent with a view of a gas station for boats. No explanation for restaurant hours. Would not recommend this property.

Great site, good staff, cheap on amenities ... oay for water in the room, pay for power adapter for the room. Not extravagant costs so even more annoying that basics weren't provided. Add $2 to each days stay and save customer from having to leave the room to buy water!

Nice property but the rooms with a garden view are not quiet at all. You can hear cars from the road nearby and we could hear our noisy neighbours as if they were actually in our room sometimes. Except from these inconveniences, our stay was really great, the hotel is really well located and offers a great swimming pool (which was a little bit cold) and a great beach restaurant. The staff was over friendly and ready to help us anytime we needed.

The property is very good for relaxation. If you want touristy vibe, night life and activities to do within walking distance stay on the Dutch side. There is nothing close by the hotel besides a grocery store, pizza restaurant by the way it was really good and a laundry mat. They do offer transportation however it can get very pricey depending how often you leave the property. They only accept euros and speak 100% French with some English. Dutch side is English speaking. If you stay on the French side you will also need to purchase a phone adapter to use as their outlets are like the outlets in Europe. The Dutch side has American outlets.

The lobby and restaurant staff were very pleasant however our booking was for a room with 2 beds and on checking in we received a room with 1 bed only. They advised us that they were unable to do anything as they were fully booked. Expedia had to step in to fix this and the next day we were moved to a room with 2 beds.

The restaurant had a long wait to get seated and to get our meals

Not everyday we were given lotion and shampoo and the glasses in the room were not cleaned everyday

On the plus side the location is very nice - walking distance to some very nice restaurants

The staff was willing to help but seemed frustrated.

So glad i didnt listen to the previous reviews i saw. The room was nice and clean and they cleaned it every day. The pool and food was open 24 hours. The staff was nice. The view was nice although the property wasnt attached to a beach. My only concern was the shower, theres no barrier so the water sprayed hard and spread across the floor into the room and it didnt stay hot for long. Other than that, it served its purpose.

I was a little surprised by the hotel not having washcloths, I typically bring my own and was told by the young lady at the front desk , she uses her hands to wash her body . Gross. The floors in our shower were always soaked with water everywhere because there was no curtain or door and we slipped in the bathroom a lot so we had to use our towels to clean up the water every day, I booked a room for King bed and was given two full sized beds that me and my boyfriend pushed together. I did like the rental car services that were available at the hotel those guys were super nice and helpful. I loved the bar and food on the beach, those people were really nice. We were told by the front staff that our TV was too loud from a guest all the way upstairs, no one on our floor seemed to be bothered with us watching tv. That really annoyed me because we no longer wanted to watch tv. Overall I would never stay there again, the location was fine some of the staff was great but I would stay somewhere else.

The room was very large, the staff were great. The balcony was big and comfortable, the bed was very comfortable, the hotel is so cute with all the art everywhere and statues too. Our only issue was the shower didn't drain well. The beach is right by some docks so we didn't ever swim there but it was a nice view for breakfast to eat there on the beach. The fake bird sounds at night were a little weird but not too loud to be annoying. The parking was tight even with our tiny car. A few people had to park outside the gate on the side of the road but overall it was a really good experience.

The art displayed through out the hotel is amazing. It is well maintained and there is a nice pool in site. I did not venture the entire hotel to see the rest, but it was well cared for. Staff is super friendly. Any issues you have gets resolved expeditiously.

The room was beautiful, loved the kitties at check-in! The grounds are gorgeous and staff was kind. Our sink would not drain - but we didn’t have time to call maintenance so we just made it work. I didn’t love the pillows (but that’s only a personal preference) that said - the bed was wonderful. We didn’t love the breakfast “buffet” and felt like it was overpriced for toast and cereal - however the coffee was spot on. I had the Alfredo for lunch and it was incredible. Overall a good experience with a few small things that weren’t my favorite. Area was quiet- good food and a cool beach about a mile or so walk from the hotel. Very safe and clean. Would stay again.

Room was just ok. Beds are very firm. Location was away from restaurants other than on location. Very disappointed to say our first day there, we went to breakfast at Hommage. We paid for food, added eggs to our continental breakfast. We waited patiently for silverware. No one came, after 30 minutes, my husband asked a server. She told him she did not speak English. Then, I heard her speaking English at the next table. We waited well over 2 hours, and asked the host a few times (with kindness) to have service. At one point, the host said he would go make the eggs. At almost 3 hours of waiting, we heard the host (very loud) speaking French, obviously speaking about us to a server. She tells her table that they lost our order. Several minutes pass, and the host came to us, and said they lost our order. We had spent all morning, on what should have been a quick breakfast. We said no thanks, we need to go now. I asked if he could credit my card for the food we paid for, and never received. He said no, and blamed the owner. We are kind, considerate people, and were refused service, after they took our money. Funny thing is, we would have eaten many meals there for the week we were visiting. I have sent an email to the hotel, with no response.

This destination offers a unique convergence of \"island time\" and the distinct, somewhat hands-off service ethos typically found in continental Europe. It is a culturally diverse landscape, and your experience will depend largely on your expectations.
For travelers who prefer the pace and familiarity of North American-style hospitality, I highly recommend focusing your stay on the Dutch side of the island. However, for those seeking an authentic, non-North American atmosphere, the French side provides a wonderful departure from the status quo.
Regarding accommodations, we stayed at Hommage Hotel. While it was a functional and convenient choice for our last-minute getaway, I would suggest considering it as a final option. While it served its purpose, there are arguably better value propositions and more strategic locations available if you have the time to book in advance.

Room was clean. Check in was quick and easy. The only negatives about this hotel are there are no ice machines. If you need ice you have to go to the bar which means there has to be staff at the bar. And it was difficult to get extra towels. Other than that, the stay was great and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Make sure you rent a car when staying at this hotel. There is very little around it. Not many stores and not many places to eat.

Unannounced work on the roof of the building, right above my head. Lasted all day, I asks the front desk about it and they said there’s nothing they can do, they have to do the work. They said it would only last one day. It lasted 2 days. No offers to change room, just a simple “sorry”

The room was in great condition. The staff was very friendly. There are no irons in the rooms and you have to go to the laundry room to iron. The light on the mirror in our bathroom did not work. There are no microwaves in the rooms and they do not provide wash cloths to bathe with. Other than that, the hotel was beautiful and the location was close to major locations on both sides of the island. This is not your stay at the Ritz Carlton, but it’s very nice and the overall look of the hotel is beautiful and an amazing place to take pictures!

Room was spotless and the staff was amazing - great team at the restaurant and wonderful food!!! also met the owner who was very friendly and we saw him working around the hotel as well.
Pool was wonderful, and so lovely to walk around in the evening - all lit up in colours of red, green yellow. Recommended this to 2 families we met when our flight was cancelled and they enjoyed it as well.
Small thing - wish the rooms had a microwave. But this is France - NOT - North Amercia! And the ambiance was wonderful.

The staff were very rude & not helpful. Our trip time was very limited. When we arrived at the hotel the room was not ready, it was already 4pm when we arrived at the hotel. So we decided to go to the bar to wait. The bartender was not friendly, she did not acknowledge us. We waited for five minutes for her to ask if we wanted to order a drink. An hour and a half later the room was ready however, no one called to let us know. We had to go back to the front desk to check on the room. No one helped with the baggage and to find the room. They gave us instructions, and it was incorrect. The room was mediocre. It didn’t even have an iron. There’s only one iron in the entire hotel. We had to leave the room to iron our clothing in the “luggage/baggage room”. Do not recommend to stay here, there are nicer hotels on the dutch side.

As a hospitality professional with extensive experience in upscale properties, I hold high standards—especially in destinations like Saint Martin’s French side, celebrated for its elegant service and authentic French-Caribbean sophistication.
My recent one-night stay was deeply disappointing. I prepaid for a confirmed room, only to find it reassigned to another guest upon arrival. I was placed in what seemed the least desirable room on the property: a handicap-accessible unit with no kettle, no coffee maker, and minimal amenities—just a bottle of water and two glasses. It lacked the comfort and refinement expected here.
The front desk team managed the situation with true professionalism, which I appreciated. However, relocating me to the handicap room and offering complimentary breakfast did not sufficiently address the significant downgrade or inconvenience. In my view, such issues call for tighter inventory controls, transparent communication, and more empathetic recovery gestures.
This ranks among the most unsatisfactory single-night stays I’ve ever had, especially on the French side of SXM, where elevated standards are the norm. We had no choice but to book elsewhere that evening.
Properties here attract guests who seek—and deserve—excellence in every aspect. I share this feedback constructively, in the hope it prompts stronger protocols to ensure such lapses don’t diminish the island’s well-earned reputation for impeccable French-inspired hospitality.

The cleaning staff did a great job every day and the front desk staff were mostly friendly and helpful depending upon who was manning the desk. This was our 4th visit to this hotel, the first 2 times were when it was a Mercure. It has obviously changed since it became the Hommage and continues to slowly recover from hurricane damage, like the rest of the island. They were installing new larger screen TVs in all the rooms during our stay. The beachfront is slowly being rebuilt with new palm tree saplings and a couple of hammocks. The restaurant appears to be an independent operation from the hotel itself. The rooms are nice, hotel service and amenities are few, the beachfront is improving, the pool remains the same.

First of all they only take EUR, the change points had already closed so I had to drive around with my two teenagers and ask persons to change our USD to Euro for us which was high risk. The stores wouldn't change it either.
That was the 1st inconvenience.
The second inconvenience was the harrassment and the amount of hours to get the amount of Euro needed just for 1 night.
The third inconvenience, finally checking in to arrive to the room to realize that the television was not televising anything.
The fourth inconvenience, realizing there was no iron or ironing board in the room.
The fifth inconvenience, there was no microwave or toaster oven for reheating or food preparation.
The sixth inconvenience, noticing that the refrigerator was on the balcony and the sliding door directly on that side was not opening. After an exhausting evening due to our travels and driving around to change our funds, the following morning, we tried to move the furniture from infront of the other sliding door which we were succesfully able to open.
The seventh inconvenience, hearing intoxicated folks along the corridor talking and arguing while going to or leaving their rooms at any given hour.

Our stay at Hommage Hotel & Residences was exceptional from start to finish. The property is beautifully designed, modern, and immaculately maintained, with a calm and upscale atmosphere that immediately makes you feel relaxed. The rooms and residences are spacious, stylish, and very comfortable, with thoughtful details that make both short and extended stays equally enjoyable.

What truly sets this place apart is the people. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive throughout our stay, always going out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. The owners were also incredibly kind, approachable, and genuinely welcoming, which added a very personal touch and made us feel truly valued as guests.

I accidentally paid for the room trying to book for another date. They would not refund me or move it to the dates that I was trying to book. It was obvious that I made the mistake because it was the same day. I contacted them as soon as I did it. They could have changed it for the days I wanted. Now I'm out of money that I cannot get back or afford. It sucks, because I really wanted to stay there.

I was extremely disappointed with the service at the Hommage Hotel in St. Maarten, specifically from the front desk staff. We arrived around 3 PM, understanding that official check-in was at 4 PM. When we arrived, the young lady at the front desk told us it would only take about 30 minutes for our room to be ready. Unfortunately, that 30 minutes turned into almost four hours, and we did not receive our room until 7 PM.
There was very poor communication throughout this entire process. We received no updates unless we went back to the front desk ourselves, and we had to go up there three separate times before they finally paid attention to us and gave us our room keys. This delay completely ruined our day, especially considering how much money we paid to stay here.
To make matters worse, it felt as though the front desk staff prioritized accommodating pilots over paying hotel guests. As compensation for the excessive wait, we were offered one free drink at the restaurant, which felt inadequate given the circumstances. After such a long delay, at the very least, dinner should have been comped.
I do want to note that the hotel itself, housekeeping, and cleaning staff were amazing—friendly, professional, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the front desk experience overshadowed what could have been a great stay. Management seriously needs to address and improve the front desk service, as it does not reflect the quality of the rest of the hotel.

DEFINITELY oversold themselves. Very little within walking distance, so if you don’t rent a car be prepared to pay for a taxi everywhere. I’d recommend the SXM taxi app over their shuttle service, theirs over charges you. Restaurant on property is ok, menu never changes though and it was highly over priced. NO BEACH. It’s a “beach” into the bay that looks nasty, wouldn’t recommend. Their breakfast is horribly overpriced for what you get, so go to the bakery down the street instead. Mezza Luna restaurant down the street is great, but you almost always need reservations for dinner.

- On the last night of my stay, the hotel had a plumbing issue, and my room did not have running water. Nobody notified me of this; I found out when my toilet stopped flushing. I was only informed of the issue when I went to the front desk. They offered me to use the (cold water only) employee shower, which I appreciate, but I still was left with no functional bathroom for the remaining hours of my stay. The hotel really should have been pro-active by calling my room or my cellphone to inform me of the issue.

- My room was supposed to have a mini-refrigerator and a coffee pot; it had neither.

- Overall, the hotel grounds are nice. I like the sculptures that they have. But I would not return, based upon my poor experience.

Absolutely beautiful property and room. The shower was modern and huge. The staff were kind and friendly even though my French was limited. The grounds and pool areas were superb, breathtaking and filled with unique sculptures. I enjoyed relaxing in a hammock on the beach. Loved every minute there. I am planning to to stay there again.

They wasn’t very nice to Americans There wasn’t very helpful towards Americans. The hot water got shut off at 4 o’clock in before then it was barely working. they told me I would have a beach view room. I ended up in the front in a dungeon room the toilet kept running it wouldn’t stop the bed was hard and I couldn’t charge my phone. I asked for a cab they wouldn’t call for one. I had to figure it out by myself. at that I have my wife with me and she’s already a pain in my ass.

This was my second visit to Hommage Hotel. The gracious staff and lovely grounds make it a perfect place to get away from it all. There is a gym. a beautiful pool, a lovely restaurant and bar. The bartender remembered what I was drinking from two nights before. It's that kind of attention to Detail that makes this place special. Baie Rouge Beach is within walkable distance. Also within walkable distance are a grocery store, pharmacy, bakery, and several restaurants. I do not rent cars when I go to Saint Martin, so that's important to me. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay somewhere that is away from the crowds, but still close to everything.

We had very bad experience coming back from dinner from marigot where you have to pass through village near by. We were not stopping but our car was rocked with projectiles thrown at us non stop. It came from no where and definetely unprovoked. We did not feel secure there and had to change our hotel next day to have peace of mind.

Property was clean,; everyday they cleaned the rooms make the bed snd give fresh towels.
Thetrnis no iron / ironing board or stramers in the rooms.No kitchen or kitchen sink. No breakfast included. For the proce breakfast ahoukd be and mot chargw $18 for continental or $23 for full breakfast.

The facilities were clean and house keeping comes daily. A walk to Baie Rouge beach is about 20 mins. Not much activities to do around the area, if any. Another issue is the electricity went off at nights for about 10 mins.
