It’s quirky, but a good value. Most of staff seemed unhappy. Food was very good. Construction at a standstill. Bikes were great to have to get some provisions on welfare Ed. $7 for a bottle of water at property, and they advise not to drink the tap water. It’s a 3 star hotel, so don’t expect the Ritz.

Unwelcoming check-in. Non-existent service. Pouring rain and an empty restaurant was ‘booked.’ Unable to get water on site. The list goes on and on. An absolute disaster stay, and we hold Expedia responsible for having ratings that send people into this mess. The worst hotel experience we’ve had in recent memory. Everyone should be warned this is a dying condo club that is not for outsiders.

5th time in St Maarten and this is the best place we’ve stayed. Great area right on Simpson Bay Beach and near many great restaurants, including their own dining. The Boon has a great down to earth feel and my wife and I came to think of their animals as our own pets while we were there. Super clean and staff is so friendly! We’ll 100% stay here again.

Needed a room on St Martin - quick - after missing the last ferry to Anguilla after numerous flight delays. Made a Resy via Expedia and found a taxi to Mary’s Boon not knowing what I was getting us into…Mary’s Boon is wonderfully quirky and exactly what we needed after a long, frustrating travel day. Front desk and restaurant staff were hospitable, food was delicious and bed was comfy. Be advised the hotel abuts the runway for the SXM airport so it could get noisy if you’re staying there during daylight hours. However Mary’s Boon Beach Resort came through for us.

The apartment itself was fine, and the beachfront location may sound appealing. However, the beach area was very unclean. The owner has three dogs that were constantly present in common areas, including the restaurant. There was dog hair flying around, which made it uncomfortable to eat. this was a fun little local hotel and restaurant it was nice cause it wasn’t a big corporate, but it was quirky and fun right on the beach. we just needed a place to sleep before flying out so we didn’t have an ocean view, if you want ocean view request one of the bungalows on the beach.

All staff were extremely friendly and attentive. It's a tranquil and relaxing hotel. Food and drinks were good. Beach towels are provided for hotel guests. Sunscreen and oil were provided in our room. The room was cleaned daily. They also have bikes for hotel guests.

I love this quirky hotel
This was a quick two nights stay, traveling from our home on Saba to the US. We’ve stayed here before with our two Westies’s, and the hotel and staff have always been very accommodating. I love this quirky hotel, a little pool and the dogs who are caretakers. The restaurant is excellent, and has a lovely happy hour. In lieu of dessert, try the BBC cocktail. Totally yummy.

The office manager (her name starts with a B) went out of her way to accommodate my room with a coffee pot that used the filters I took with me. Bar staff were extremely friendly as well. I got this one week stay at Mary’s Boon beach for my parents and they loved it so much they don’t want to come home! They are in love with this hotel, the people are so friendly, the views are amazing every day/night and they said the food/drinks at the restaurant and bar downstairs were phenomenal! They said everything was easy and perfect with staying at Mary’s Boon Beach Resort! I can’t wait to visit myself too, and after what they’ve told me about it, this is where I’d stay without question! Mary's Boon is a gem. I love all the animals around the place...especially the turtles and dogs! If you are not a dog lover it might be kind of hard to steer clear of them because they have the run of the place, but they are all sweet and if you are a dog lover you will really appreciate seeing them. We had the best meal of our entire vacation at the restaurant at the resort. Since we are Aviation Buffs we love how close this is to the airport and how you can be swimming and watch planes take off right near you

The beach is lovely. The airport noise goes on all day. The property is in need of repairs and an update. The rooms where renovations have been started are poor quality and not complete. The property is not very clean and most of the staff (reception and restaurant) are not friendly. The quality of the restaurant food is very mediocre. We were without water on a couple of days for a few hours.

Interesting- when we arrived Feb 14 it was quiet ( less the airplanes overhead but you actually get use to that- it’s kind of weirdly charming) with lovely guests all enjoying the surroundings together- when we returned March 1 the place was filled to the brim with incredibly boisterous ( trying to find a nicer word than loud mouthed) very large North Americans ( like row upon row) that acted like it was spring break 1984…..but at the age of 50 or 60 ( not pretty). Had I only visited in March, I’d never return- but when it’s calm, filled with respectful, 3 cocktail ( rather than 7) guests- it’s really kitschy. Unit 15 is the best!

This is such a special place. We spent 3 nites there in the Tree studio. It was as basic as you can get - no cooking facilities and minimal cups and such. That being said - such amazing staff and the beach - bar none with beach service all day! At night - great restaurant overlooking the water. Location location, this has it. Big thanks to all the staff - wait staff, chefs, customer service and the bar staff! They are all 5 atars.

Mary’s Boon is a special place. First of all, it is located directly on arguably a top 3 beach on the island. Wake up, grab breakfast at hotel restaurant, and grab your chairs and umbrella steps away from where you woke up. The food at the restaurant is incredible ALL day and both the outdoor beach bar and indoor bar (which overlooks the beach) are awesome. Most of the rooms have been updated and remodeled and they are very comfortable. AC worked all week no issues. Mary’s Boon is located in Simpson Bay and right near airport. It has a platform overlooking the runway where you can watch planes land and takeoff but it does not disrupt your night as planes usually stop around 5 pm. Great location and very close to the bumping, energetic street of Welfare Road which is home to endless bars and restaurants. Great stay! Will be back.

I stayed here alone to be near the airport to return from a sailing trip.There was loud thumping music playing on the beach...definitely appeals to the younger crowd. Things were quiet later, and the restaurant was excellent! Room was cool, and bed was comfortable.

The facility location is great for getting on the beach. We had a garden view but you can’t see the garden unless you leave your front door open. The back side faced. The alley and airport. So not the best view. However we were not in our room that much so we didn’t care. The rooms could use some updating. The bar and restaurant were great. The bar area is very small but was fun and they put the football games on. The beach was beautiful. There is a grocery store that was super small but is walkable and they had the amenities we needed. Getting a taxi was easy but you have to walk up the road a little to get in it because they can’t turn around easily.

I don't like that the restaurant in front of hotel hogs up all the beach space leaving very limited areas for hotel guests to lounge on beach and are resigned to the back. Also the limited space is taken up at the crack of dawn by hotel guests leaving their towels and arrive hrs later. I will not return.

The location can’t be best being right on the beach. It is beside the airport so there is the noise from that but it wasn’t a huge issue. Our unit 124 is in the basement. We knew that and were not surprised that we needed to carry our luggage down a flight of steps. The unit initially looked decent but one side of the bed has issues creating lots of noise to get in and out. Bedding could use a refresh. The restaurant is above the unit so don’t expect quite until it closes and then again when it opens in the morning. My wife tried to take a shower in the evening and found no pressure and no hot water. We are familiar with water outages in St Martin but we were getting a little sprinkle coming out but no hot water should not be the case. This was repeated in the morning so not sure if it was a city water outage or an issue with the building. I mentioned this to the person when checking out but she didn’t seem to care. The restaurant has good food and a great bartender to make your favourite drink. We will return to the restaurant but we won’t stay there again.
