Clean room, friendly staff, beautiful location. Hotel restaurant dinner was delicious and highly recommend! It rained during our stay so we couldn’t use the pool but the outdoor area is so beautiful that we sat at the bar and enjoyed the view and atmosphere.

The 20% dinner discount was offered, but we didn’t use it. Very courteous staff, and excellent clean rooms. A bit far from center, so transport is an issue. We used a bus to shuttle to the center. A taxi to the marina costs 50 euros. So be careful

We had the most wonderful stay at MelRose Relais. Pasquale the evening server in the restaurant was incredibly friendly, and helpful with several suggestions for things to see, where and when to catch the bus which was super close by, as well as food and wine suggestions each night. We loved how he went above and beyond and it was a pleasure getting to know him. He was a highlight from our entire trip.
All of the staff were friendly and available to help with anything. The evening the restaurant was closed they arranged free transportation to another local restaurant which was one of our best meals in Italy.
I saw that some people complained about the drive way but it wasn’t overly long and even after recent ankle surgery it was easily manageable. The buses were frequent and took less than 10 minutes to get us into Sorrento. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

The hotel staff were amazing and very responsive & helpful through WhatsApp. We had a late check-in, and they were so accommodating.

The view from the hotel was beautiful, and it was just a short drive from the city centre.

Breakfast at the restaurant was great, we loved the omelette!

Everything was clean and tidy. We wish we could’ve met the wonderful team in person, but we were out exploring most of the time. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay here!

Decor. The second story room has a beautiful view from the small sitting area at the front of the entrance, The sunset was stunning ! There are o lot of nice flowers at the property, it creates a wonderful atmosphere… Pool area is nice but we did not had a chance to use the pool because of the weather . The complimentary breakfast was a nice addition. The stuff was very nice and take care of all our needs very quickly .

This was definitely our favourite stay while being in Italy. Service here has been incredible. Room got upgraded. Breakfast included is always a bonus. Location has been so nice. It’s about 100m away from bus stop that takes you into to sorrento town. Which was perfect for us. We booked a 12 person boat tour to almalfi and positano which I highly recommend. Other day we took ferry out of sorrento to Capri. If you have time to do one of each.. do it. During the time we stayed here it was a bit chilly but they have a pool which I’m sure during spring summer and early fall is amazing. This place is definitely 100/10. Thank you for a wonderful stay Melrose!

Gem of a hotel

We were originally looking for a place in down town Sorrento but fortunately came across this beautiful gem. The property is great. it's a small hotel run by a family who are involved with it's everyday operation. Beautiful pool and restaurant. We were not able to get the A/C running but because it wasn't that warm we never persued the issue. There is a bar at the pool but we found the prices to be very expensive but equal to every other place that we visited. The rooms were cleaned daily . There is a bus stop right by the front of the property which was convenient for getting into down town Sorrento to hop a train or shop.

A lovely hotel and a great location. The staff are friendly and the food and drink are high level and a fair price for the area. The only regret I have is the room. We paid extra for the deluxe room and in hindsight I wish we hadn’t. The room was fine and as advertised but whilst at the hotel we realised we were the only ones without an outdoor seating area. If you are looking to go and want to treat yourself I’d recommend one of the suites rather than the deluxe room. Otherwise everything was great and I’d recommend staying there.

This hotel was absolutely perfect for our stay. The location is stunning – quiet, peaceful and with a lovely pool and sunset dining area. Our room was modern, spotless and even had a little garden space to relax in. Netflix on the TV was a great extra touch.

The staff were fantastic – so friendly, accommodating and always happy to help. They took time to explain everything clearly at check-in and really went out of their way for us during our stay. Breakfast was simple but tasty, just what we needed to start the day.

We also loved how convenient it was – just a short walk to the bus stop, which made getting into Sorrento really easy. Overall, a peaceful retreat with everything you need. We would definitely stay here again! :)

My husband and I stayed here in Sept 2025. What a lovely property! A beautiful pool area with a lot of seating and a cocktail bar (extremely pricey drinks). There is an evening restaurant on the property that we ate at the first night and it was our best meal! The waiter was fantastic! Also a breakfast area around the corner - you can order fresh eggs/omelettes and then a buffet (mostly sweet items). It is about a 15 minute drive/bus ride outside of Sorrento. There is a bus that stops almost right outside and takes you into Sorrento for only 1.50€. There are no stores/mini markets within walking distance for anything you might need. A few restaurant options within walking distance - but the bus is a great option to head into Sorrento for dinner and once you’re there, it’s extremely walkable. The service was outstanding. The staff helps you book anything you might want to do and is there to answer all of your questions about the area. It is a bit hard to find - there is a small sign so you really have to be watching. Very quiet oasis away from the hustle & bustle.

The Melrose is a gorgeous place to stay away from the hustle & bustle of Sorrento. The pool area & gardens are lovely as is the outside bar - every little detail has been thought of, it’s a lovely place to spend time relaxing.
We stayed in the delux double room which is very spacious, the only downside is, it doesn’t have an outdoor seating area whereas most of the other rooms do.
Dining at the hotel was excellent with a great dinner choice - the outdoor terrace where dinner is served has stunning views across the bay to Naples.
Breakfast was also very good with great hot & cold choices.
The staff are brilliant & so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Due up the location of the hotel, the centre of Sorrento can be reached by using the excellent bus service that stops near to the hotel.
We loved our holiday at The Melrose & can’t recommend it highly enough as a lovely, calming place to stay ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great little hotel up on the hills, driving there is easy, just watch the curves, they have on-site parking which is a nice plus.

Just a bit hard to find, great breakfast and friendly staff.

The gps points tu the essenza restaurant, that Hotel entrance is behind it up on hill, just turn left a bit after it if coming from Sorento

We found home in the Amalfi cost this place is amazing we went there for our first night and we went back We ride on motorbike and its was nice to see the people. Services and hospitality. Coming Back For Sure

Our first stay here, 3 nights, and we are already planning a longer stay for next summer. The personal attention we received upon check in surpasses anything we've experienced (and we travel several times each month). The views from our private terrace-- WOW! We could clearly see the wildfire on Mt Vesuvius. The breakfast chef is different from the dinner chef-- both are incredibly talented, as we enjoyed every single bite! Pasquale was a delight to converse with in the evenings and the dining terrace has the best views.
The reception reserved sunbeds at the Kadelmar Beach Club and their shuttle picked us up at the hotel. It's a lovely walk down to the beach club and there is a public beach there, as well-- with those blue/green waters you see on postcards. But to climb back up to the hotel in the heat of the day... We decided on the shuttle!
The city bus (2€) stopped just outside the hotel and took us to Sorento City center, where we got the get to Capri for the day.
I can't say enough about the elegant, personalized experience of Melrose. And the convenience is an added bonus.

Beautiful boutique just outside Sorrento. Very welcoming and understood all our needs during our stay.

A little outside of Sorrento but a bus is very easy to get and only take 15 minutes to get in.

Tip - go to a tobacco shop selling the bus tickets on your first visit down and get all you'll need for your trip then you won't have to worry!

We loved this hotel and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Sorrento! It’s a little bit out of the city centre, which makes it very quiet and relaxing. The outdoor spaces (pool, restaurant, gardens) are beautiful and the staff is very kind and welcoming. The hotel also partners with a number of tour companies which you can book through Expedia messenger or the front desk. We booked the Amalfi boat tour and had an amazing day! The only negative was a very small amount of mold in the bathroom. Other than that, the entire property was very clean and well maintained. It was the perfect spot for a few days on our honeymoon!

We recently stayed at the MelRose Relays outside Sorrento and it was absolutely incredible! The hotel is nestled in a scenic, quiet location, providing a peaceful retreat from the bustle of the city, yet it’s still conveniently close to all that Sorrento has to offer. The staff were beyond kind, generous, and helpful, shout out to Pietro,Bala and Pasquale for making us feel right at home. The food was another highlight—both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious. The pool area was gorgeous and relaxing, complete with a poolside bar for that extra touch of luxury. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and air-conditioned, making it a great choice for both solo travelers seeking a peaceful getaway and families on vacation. Highly recommend!

Location is tricky to get to from Sorrento. Taxi is very expensive compared to big cities (€46 by the meter), so we used the public transit bus (€2, comes every 20min) when we did not have our luggage.

Restaurant on site, Essenza, is a hidden gem.

Pasquale (restaurant server) and Rovatiana (hotel reception) elevated our experience.

We stayed there for almost a week. From entering the property until check out everything worked really well. The staff is super friendly and helpful with 24*7 support available. The location is good as well, with direct bus every 20 min. For the breakfast one can order 1 freshly made dish and 2 drinks along with the buffet for free, its flavourful and fulfilling.

The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful—going above and beyond by helping us book a boat trip to the Amalfi Coast.

The breakfast each morning was a real treat: delicious and with a nice variety to start the day right. A bus stop is just a 2-minute walk from the property, and it takes about 20 minutes to reach downtown Sorrento, making it easy to explore the area without needing a car.

Overall, a fantastic stay that far exceeded expectations. Highly recommended for those looking for comfort, service, and great value all in one.

The had a beautiful view of the sunset every evening. Pasquale the host/waiter for the Melrose Bistrot restaurant took such good care of us every night for dinner. Such a beautiful boutique hotel. The pool area, bar and restaurant were amazing. The breakfast that was included was very good. We had dinner at the restaurant twice and it was delicious. The service was great.

Beautiful layout, attached to a great restaurant. Only concern: a glass partition in the bathroom area, to separate sink area from room. Made me nervous. Also, being clear did not give any privacy for dressing. Shower, bidet, toilet were separate and had total privacy. Perhaps a nice curtain instead? Glass made me concerned. Lovely place and would return.

Melrose Relais was very quaint and safe. The rooms are mostly clean minus some mold in the sheet rock near the shower. The only toiletries provided are shower gel and shampoo. No tissue, lotion, and minimal toilet paper. The wifi was choppy. They last night we were there it was out for over 12 hours. Reception isn't available until lunchtime. And the property is not walkable to Sorrento city center. We used the city bus most of the time. If you want a relaxing place that is quiet and has a chill pool this is the place for you.

Beautiful property

Our visit to Amalfi was amazing and we wanted to add an additional night to our stay. We stumbled onto this property by accident and I’m so glad we did. We were greeted by the cutest manager. She showed us around the property and then we were greeted with a lemon sorbet at the bar. This was a beautiful property! The staff was second to none. I could not be more pleased and I wish we had booked our whole vacation at this property. 10/10!!

From the host to the chef, everyone was 5 stars! Emelia is a fantastic bartender (who makes amazing cocktails) and Luigi was very professional and friendly server at the Bristo! Can’t recommend MelRose enough. The rooms were amazing and the property was breath taking. Only a 5-8 minute bus ride into Sorrento’s City Centre (bus comes every 20minutes). If we are ever in the Sorrento area again, we will be back!

We loved staying at MelRose Relais! The staff were all so welcoming, genuine and accomodating. When we arrived we were given a tour of the grounds and enjoyed a welcome drink by the pool bar. Rovatiana was so knowledgeable and shared some great recommendations with us. She arranged a scooter rental directly to the hotel which made getting around so easy. She also booked dinner for us at the restaurant. This was an incredible experience! We watched the sunset, had an almost private dining experience and were treated to a delicious meal and excellent wine pairing suggestions. Our waiter was an absolute delight - such a lovely man. WOW! What a great boutique hotel in Sorrento, Italy. The owner was so sweet and attentive to details. All the staff especially Luigi was so nice. It’s a lovely place with a great sunset view. There was an onsite Bistro for breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The location is also easy accessible for public transportation.

They will also help and book any tours you may want to experience.

The owner was phenomenal communicating with us on WhatsApp before our arrival after train delays and missing the check-in timeframe. She even told us she would make a reservation at their restaurant onsite to make sure we would have a good meal after a long day. Along with a recommended boat tour (which was AMAZING) and providing to-go breakfast bags for our early checkout we LOVED our short stay and will absolutely stay again if we have the opportunity.

Great stay just outside of Sorrento

We had a lovely stay at MelRose Relais! The hotel was quiet, the staff very nice and the food at the restaurant delicious. Special shout out to the bartender who made excellent cocktails (although pricy)!

The hotel is located outside of Sorrento and is accessed by public bus or by car. Please note walking to Sorrento is not an option as there are no sidewalks and the one street from one town to the other is windy with poor visibility and no lights at night. We had some trouble with the bus the first few days of our stay as there was construction on the road, the bus was only coming by in the morning and evening. Otherwise the bus was quite convenient and cheap. Taxis are an option but expensive (35-45 euros).

Overall the hotel was nice and a great deal for the amenities offered but perhaps a little far from everything if you don't have a rental car.

I believe only 12 rooms blways felt like we were alone although hotel was full. Bus stop very close by so getting in and out of Sorrento town was very easy.

We had an absolutely amazing stay here. The host was very communicative and friendly throughout the booking and arrival process. The property was beautiful and the room was perfect for us. When arriving to Italy our flight was hours late and we did not arrive to property until around midnight. Upon arrival we were kindly greeted and taken into the restaurant connected to the property. To our surprise the staff was gladly awaiting our arrival and prepared a fresh and delicious two course meal for us. The hospitality and kindness with which we were met upon arrival and throughout our stay was unprecedented. I would highly suggest staying here and hope to return soon.

The property was beautiful, quiet, and safe. The rooms were in immaculate condition. Property staff communication was excellent. We appreciated the free shuttle service to nearby restaurants which were also amazing. The only criticism was the limited hot water for the shower.

Our favorite part of the stay was the restaurant attached to the property. The breakfast was exceptional every morning. What really made it special was the wait staff though. Mimo and Luigi in particular were so kind, attentive, and friendly. This was the first place we stayed on our honeymoon and those two really set the tone for first impressions of the locals.

We had a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend this place to others!

The hotel is nice but staff is not accommodating, my cloth was ruined and I have pictures of the day before and they said well. Some wall moist in the bathroom. Inconveniently far they were fixing the road and you cannt pass between 9 to 5 you are stuck also the bus is almost in front but staff don’t know how late they run. The restaurant staff, chef the food and the bartender and the bar great and excellent manners. I wouldn’t stay because the front desk leaves early and it’s far with very limited wifi and no taxis pass by. Unless you have a car and want to stay far out and loose some morning and return time not great location to take ferry’s and go around amalfi coast

A wonderful stay!

We could only stay one night but this was a beautiful oasis of a spot. The pool and bar was very nice and quiet. The owner checked us in and suggested a spot for dinner. We were able to walk there. It was exactly what I needed after over 24 hours of travel! We ended the night with wine by the pool sitting on the side with feet in the pool. The breakfast the next morning was also fabulous as well. My only complaint was that I could only stay one night!

It’s a bit far from the port and taxi is ridiculously expensive but there is a bus which stops every twenty minutes right in front of the place and you can go to the city center for less than two euros riding that . My complaints of any are about the fact there is no hot water in the shower. It’s barely Luke warm . We told the manager and nothing really changes although they promised to take care of it . After going around all day in the sun and sweating and dust laden I really wanted a hot shower but that did not happen . Other than that every thing else is good but far from any attractions or restaurants

Our only regret is that we did not book this place for twice as long. It is beautiful and peaceful, and our host, Walter, arranged dinner for us at local restaurants where we had some fabulous fresh fish and octopus. Breakfast was at Melrose and everything we had was homemade and delicious! Everyone at MelRose was friendly and approachable. We would highly recommend!

I can’t rate Melrose Relais highly enough! My husband and I are just back from a two week break. We stayed in the junior suite which has a private terrace with views over Capri and Vesuvius! Fabulous! Walter and his family were amazing. He booked boat trips to Capri and Amalfi for us and helped us with a bus tour to Pompeii and Vesuvius. All 3 were excellent. The local bus between Massa Lubrense and Sorrento is very easy to use -2 euros each- so we used that for day trips and eating out at night. Breakfast was included and lovely. On the days when we chilled beside the pool we had fantastic lunches from the Bistro and cocktails from the pool bar!
Nothing was too much trouble and hopefully it won’t be our last visit!

A tranquil oasis on the Amalfi coats.

The hotel is a little bit of tranquility, on the Amalfi coast. The family run hotel was an excellent base, only a short journey into the heart of Sorrento, (less than 10 mins) either by car or bus. We preferred the bus as the stop is only 100 yards from the hotel & parking can be a bit of a pain in town. The hotel its self is kept very clean, the rooms have a white minimalist theme, which is excellent & in keeping with its surroundings. It is situated amongst an olive grove, which is a great backdrop for the views of Capri & the Bay of Naples. The staff being very professional, polite & friendly. Elias the current mixologist/bar tender was always on duty, to offer his knowledge on choice of cocktails. We had several afternoon lunches at the pool dining area, during our stay which were always fresh & full of flavour, Elias again providing his choice of wines to accompany the meal. The continental breakfast, along with a small choice of freshly cooked items was always a good way to start the day. A lot of the items available are cooked in house by Rossa, a very tasty too. Linda was on hand at breakfast, to take your order & serve fresh juices, coffee & tea, if required. Prior to our arrival we where contacted on WhatsApp, by Walter the reception, inviting us to use this line of communication if we required any assistance during our stay for any restaurant or tour bookings, etc which was a nice touch. Thanks to Melanie & Rose for hosting us. Will be back

A hidden gem in Sorrento! We looked at dozens of places and settled on MelRose Relais for the ratings and good value. We were blown away with Walter's hospitality, the quality of the property and the good location. An absolutely relaxing spot, you don't really even need to leave if you don't want. Walter helped us with free shuttles to several local restaurants so we could leave our car and the bar and pool service were great and friendly. Would absolutely stay again, we wish we could have stayed longer last time!

Melrose Relais was a dream stay for me after a busy 4 weeks travelling for work. The hotel is super quiet and peaceful and is very close to Marina Di Puolo which is a lovely little beach front, much calmer than those directly in and around Sorrento. The hotel is close to public transport, the breakfast was great and the guest services were impeccable. I really loved my stay there.

My only tiny feedback would be that it would be of benefit to non-italian speaking guests to have a subtitles option for the television. Not that I came to Italy to watch TV at all, but it was a bit of a frustration on those nights i'd come back to my room after a long day at the beach/ hiking and didn't feel like reading a book etc.

I have nothing but great things to say about this hotel. The bed was very comfortable, the room was very clean. The host (Walter) was very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast and staff was amazing. The only warning I would give people is this is a 45 minute walk to Sorrento on a narrow dangerous road. Busing into Sorrento is an option as they run every 20-30 minutes, bus stop is 2 minutes away. I would still highly recommended this hotel and stay here again!!

Firstly, when we arrived to Sorrento, we were unable to ask the hotel how to get there by bus. We walked 35 minutes (with 45lb back packs). We ended up stopping and asking a hotel on the route to get us a tax. The taxi driver showed up and took us the wrong way. A 5 minute cab ride costed $50 Eruos (Canadian exchange is terrible at that). We got dropped off a 5 minute walk away as the taxi had no idea how to get there and I wasn’t allowing him to charge us anymore).

The hotel manager was wonderful but said he had issues with his computer and phone and that is why we weren’t able to contact him. Once at the hotel, we loved every minute! It had beautiful grounds, once we learned bus EAV was so easy to ride (walk out of the hotel, go left at the entrance and right by a hotel on the right there is a bus stop (it’s 2 minutes to walk there, not even maybe that long). The bus comes every 20 minutes and the make change on the bus for money.

The room was really nice, although the workers worked late our first night and I had to contact the manager. It was soon done and back to being quiet and peaceful.

Hotel MelRose is a hidden gem. It’s a 15 minutes bus ride to the centre of Sorrento but we didn’t mind it at all. We even walked our last day and it took 45 minutes, with stopping to take breath taking view in!

Would definitely come back again and never use a taxi ever again.
