My stay was good overall. I stayed for 3 nights with two toddlers, and we had a great experience. The room was clean, nice, and I loved that our view overlooked the pool. I also appreciated being on a lower floor since I had two toddlers with me—it made things much easier.

The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The only issue I had was the smell in the room and how dry the air felt. There was a strange odor that never really went away, so I would often leave the door open to air the room out.

I also think the property could use a few updates, like replacing some of the carpets and refreshing parts of the rooms. Other than the smell and the need for some updates, everything else was good, and I enjoyed my stay. I would consider staying here again.

unfortunately our stay was terrible. The hotel was filthy and poorly maintained . The room did not appear to be properly cleaned. The overall condition is unacceptable. There was mold on the lampshades. There was ripped shower curtain. There was a hole in the wall. I am going to be requesting a refund.

We had a wonderful stay at this beach hotel! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect—just steps from the beach. The views were beautiful, and the atmosphere was relaxing. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beach getaway.

I booked a beach front room as I wanted to see the BEACH, well when I got to my room I was given a bottom floor room with dunes in front of you, so you can’t even look out to see the ocean. I asked for a different room because as I booked a beach front room I’d like to see the beach, well I was told it would be $400 to upgrade my room, which to me seems like a bunch of crap. Also, our ac did not work for 3 days we were there. We called and complained each day and finally after the 3rd day they came and put a new unit in our room. Our tv in our room did not work at all!! They came to fix that also and it worked for one day and stopped working again so we said the hell with it. Our sheets, pillowcases and blankets were dirty. So save yourself the money and don’t fall for these pictures because this hotel is ran down and needs many many fixes!!!

First off, I would like to commend the friendly staff, above all the maintenance manager, Larry who made our stay absolutely stress free! This small motel is just steps away from the beach. Some rooms do need to air out a little so turning off the aircon and just opening the door once in a while helps. Bring your sleeping masks, the room is so bright if you are facing the beach side. Each room have a small microwave and a small fridge… perfect for longer stays. Location is also a few steps away from the boardwalk but far enough that it doesn’t get all the noise and traffic. It’s close to tons of restaurants, local shops and pubs! Will totally stay again!

You can't beat the location right at the end of the boardwalk. The view of the ocean from our room was amazing. The staff was friendly and accommodating. While the hotel is older and could use some updates, the incredible location and beautiful ocean views more than made up for it. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and a affordable price

This was the perfect place to stay for a short getaway. Although it’s not a luxury hotel, it was clean and had exactly what we needed including the best oceanfront view and beach access. It was just steps away from the start of the boardwalk which kept it very quiet. Unfortunately, the pool was being worked on while we were there so we couldn’t use it. Convenient to all attractions with ample parking. Would definitely return.

The pictures surely make it look better. The best thing about the place was the location. 1 property from the beginning of the boardwalk. Upon arriving the sign told us to go to a different hotel to check in. Not far but inconvenient. The Pool was closed for service, I am guessing for maintenance for the upcoming season but that was never told to us. We were told we can use the pool at the other hotel, again not convenient. Our 3rd floor room was close to the picture shown. Definitely showing signs of wear but did have a good ocean view. The windows had blinds instead of curtains/drapes which looked modern but caused an issue with a bright light right outside the window/door area. Our room all evening was illuminated through the white blinds. After 2 requests staff came and hung curtains....not very attractive but worked with the lighting. Security was an issue for me.....an average door knob with a house type lock and a security chain for added security. We finished our vacation but would not plan on returning to this motel.

They should send an email that check in is at another location. Walking over wasn’t far, but, in the rain was less than amusing. To drive over would be a big pain.
The room was fine, thankfully for the carpet otherwise we might have fallen through the floor. You could feel the wood rot.
Staff was fine, only saw them when you walked over to the check in building, ice and coffee only available at the check in building.

The room was very small! It smelled like mildew there were places in the floor that we thought we’d fall through! Definitely not the room in any of their pictures. The parking lot was in between buildings there was no lighting. The over flow parking lot was across a 4 lane highway with no cross walk. I have pictures I would love to post!

The room was clean and efforts were made to update but overall I’d be shocked if the rooms and property passed safety inspections. It was probably stated in the listing but when I pay extra for an ocean front room I assume it’s a private balcony. It was not. At the end of the day we were there for the beach and the festival but the accommodations did not match the price paid.

The place itself is somewhat dated, but a quick weekend away didn’t call for more than a safe and clean place to sleep, which the Seabonay is. Location is great too. True ocean front view with dunes and just a few steps from the boardwalk. Definitely a solid place to stay, especially if you’re gonna be busy in OC and just need somewhere to sleep and clean up.

I refused to stay at this motel, but smell of mildew and mold was obnoxious. The boards leading to the room on the balcony were worn and looked as if they would collapse at anytime. They also did not advertise the fact that they didn't have an elevator. They charged me for a night's stay anyway even though I refused to stay there. Shame on you people, how about taking the time to fix the place up, I'll never, ever make this mistake again. Folks read the reviews, and believe what you read . Replace that dirty ,molded carpet with vinyl flooring. Don't stay at this place, you won't like it and they don't care because they will keep your money. 0 stars from me.

Pictures are slightly deceiving. Loved the location, tight on the beach, lots of outdoor space. Unfortunately some of the outdoor furniture is broken. The rooms are run down, carpet torn, curtains off the tracks, but they were clean. People clearly smoke (pot) in these rooms which isn't the hotel's fault, but it aggravated my asthma. Vending machine didn't work but ice machine had ice. Bedding, towels, and bathroom were very clean. Housekeeping does a great job.

When I arrived there was a dried up, used wash cloth left in the bathroom - if that was there, what other shortcuts did they take when supposedly \"cleaning\" the bathroom and room. On my last day there, there was an odor of vomit infused heat activated decades old garbage and a liquid path of something disgusting extending all the way from the top floor decking and down two sets of stairs. When I mentioned these things at the front desk no one seemed to care either time.

There was very dark colored mold in several places on walls and ceilings. Had to purchase bleach spray to clean it. Wiped the bathroom floor with a white towel and it was black. In four days room service changed our towels once. The room smelled moldy and musty. Even my son said it smelled bad. They don't clean this place at all. People also sit in front of your entry door to smoke. Didn't help the smell in the room. I do not recommend Seabonay for anyone to stay.

Great location. Easy parking. AC worked great in the room, but everything was damp. No remote for the TV. Towels are incredibly thin and sparse. Housekeeping tried to enter our room after we told them we didn't need anything and left 3 hand towels and a washcloth outside, which was odd and we didn't ask for them.

Room 105 had a horrible DAMP MOLDY smell. Room was so damp the floor was wet the chair seat was damp the covers were damp and within the first day all of my clothes were damp. Tried turning the bathroom fan on thinking that would help but it didn’t work either. The smell was so bad when I was in n the room I left the door wide open as much as I could.

Pros:
- Location. It's right at the end of the boardwalk so practically beach front.
- Parking included, plenty, and felt safe.
- We didn't use the pool but it looked nice
- Didn't seem like there were bedbugs. We didn't look thoroughly and I never put my stuff on soft surfaces but I don't have any bites.

Cons:
- We booked an \"oceanfront\" room, but it wasn't worth it because our windows were tiny and it's a motel so we didn't have a private balcony to open a door to. Not a big deal, just something to consider.
- Poor ventilation and the room was so musty and mildewy. The carpet was always damp and dirty. When I first went to place the bath mat down, it was already soaking wet, prob from a leak in the ceiling because it had just stormed.
The bottom of the bathroom door was so damaged from moisture it looked like frayed cardboard.
Dampness was so bad, while we went out for the day, I cranked the heat to 90 until we came back 12 hours later to dry out the room and that helped a little bit.
- Shower pressure was not great and drain was slow

All in all, we just needed a room to sleep and keep our things because my family had a nice condo a few blocks away so we showered and spent most of our time their or out doing stuff. The bed was comfortable enough, although made very poorly and had bits of some type of bugs' legs on it (spider cricket?). There was dried gum, holes, and rips in the sheets.
Good enough place to stay but should be cheaper.

Location was great, but that’s about it. Our room smelled of mildew and the carpets were wet and remanded wet our entire stay. There was also mold on the walls. The room looked like it had never been deep cleaned especially the flooring as well as having cracked bathroom tiles. The outlets were hanging outside the wall.

The blind was falling down and there was food still in the room on the floor. The listing said that there was a balcony for the room but the balcony was actually a community balcony with some chairs placed on it. Also, having no elevator was a tad inconvenient for being on the 3rd floor.

The view of the water from our ocean view room was beautiful, but honestly, that's about all this hotel had going for it. The images shown of our room were totally inaccurate. In reality, the room was musty, old, and falling apart. The \"balcony\" is actually just the walkway in front of the rooms. Check in was ridiculous and left us searching for the right place to check in. Then, we had to hunt to find how to get to our room on the 2nd floor. Luckily, another tenant saw us and explained how to get up there. They had the same issue and the only hotel staff we saw weren't able to speak English and therefore were unable to help. The staircase was in a cramped outdoor walkway (tunnel-like) between the 1st floor rooms that smelled like urine and had water from the a/c dripping. No elevator, so be ready to lug all of your beach gear up 2 or 3 flights of stairs. The listing states that it's a minute walk to the boardwalk, which is true, but it's at the end of the boardwalk, so another 20+ min walk to get to the stores and activity. I would say this is a 'you get what you pay for' kind of thing but the price difference wasn't enough to make this worth it for us. All of that being said, it all depends what you're looking for. There's a bed, a shower, a toilet, a/c, and a beautiful view of the ocean if you stay on the 2nd or 3rd floor. 1st floor oceanfront, you'll only see the dunes.

Motel is seated right at the end of the boardwalk. It’s a quiet place. The beach access is right there. The room was large for space. Although the bed skirting and the floor looked dirty. Trash was removed daily and towels replaced everyday. Everything we needed was within walking or we took the bus. Staff was kind and check in was in the Dunes hotel.

Not at all as pictured or initially reviewed. I did not have high expectations, but the room smelled terrible (moldy, dirty), old and broken bathroom tiles and furniture (just visibly - I did not dare touch or sit on anything). Seemed like homeless placement; lots of people just sitting outside the door and area to what was supposed to be my room. Immediately left, secured a new place, and cancelled this location.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

Front desk staff was okay. Tried giving me a hard time about cancellation/refund policy, but thankfully was able to cancel through Expedia. Had to explain over and over again that if the place was ad advertised, I would have stayed but could not possibly leave my daughter and her friend in that area, even with me being around. NO NO NO!!!

Older hotel but worth the $$ Right on the boardwalk and walking distance to restaurants, mini golf, shops and steps from the beach. Went for a long weekend and was great for what we needed. Only downfall was no elevator so being on the 3rd floor taking up luggage was no fun. 🙃 Will stay again.

The is very musty smells like mold everything felt damp even our clothes that we haven’t used, even if you had a “do not disturb” sign out on the door the maids still opened ur door and looked in ur room i seen that happen, will never go back

Easy to get to. The hotel could use some updating. My room was supposed to be ocean view. I could hear the ocean, but I couldn’t see it. Over all a decent stay

Little slice of heaven

We love staying at the a Seabonay because it's a hip slip and a jump to the back and boardwalk. There are many amazing walkable restaurants and lots of things to do in that area!! Perfect place to rest your head after a killer beach day!

Worst place ever

Didn’t stay. Place was filthy. Wasn’t cleaned from previous persons stay. Check in was supposed to be at 4. Told us we couldn’t check in till after 5. Told us to park in a different parking lot if we parked on the one by where we were staying we’d be towed. Room had mold in it badly. We got a refund so they say. For second night but charged us for first night. Will have to see if we got any refund at all. Only was there long enough to look at room and see all the mold and dirty tampons in floor and trash left from previous occupants and closed the door and returned the keys and canceled reservation. Worst place ever

This is a vintage property. Very well maintained very clean. Every staff member was friendly smiled and helped with all our needs. We booked 2 rooms and would definitely stay here again. I’ve been vacationing in OC since I was a little. My kids now love coming here. Literally walk out your door to beach access and boardwalk.

There is no restroom by pool, only had 3 sets of towels for 4 ppl. Only was given 1 key, never called us when room was ready like I was told. No storage in the bathroom to put anything, didn’t provide a hair dryer.
