I showed up at the property at 10 pm for a late check in when the website said they staff their office from 10pm-2am. No one was there and no one responded to phone calls. I ended up having to rent a full price room further down in ocean city at the last minute because otherwise I would have had to sleep in my car. Do NOT stay at this place in the off season, they don’t care about you and won’t follow their alleged posted hours. Absolutely awful experience.

I was in town working a convention until after midnight. I live just over an hour away from the motel. I booked it as I needed to be back at work early the next morning. I just planned to get a few hours of sleep and go back to work. Upon my arrival the office was closed and could not check in so I drove home slept for 4 hours and drove back to work. Never used a place that didn’t have 24 hour check in.

This weekend stay was a birthday-getaway/spiritual sabbatical. It was intended to be spartan and bare-bones; and with this price-point, I figured that is what it would be. And I was right. This was an early March stay, and even though the room had heat, the bathroom window was one of those louvered Jalousie windows, and the adjuster knob didn't work, and the window was slightly ajar, allowing more cold air to come in. The bathroom door had to be kept shut, and when you had to go in there, it was like doing your business outside in 40 degrees. Also at this price-point you get a wide variety of guests, so on my 2nd night, it was kind of noisy. So if you're seeking peace and quiet, this is not your place. If it doesn't matter, have at it. The room was fairly clean, but dated, and maintenance is needed. The bed was firm and comfortable. Interesting was that you would think the electrical switch right inside the door would be for a light. No. It was for the microwave. I don't know if every room is that way. There's only about 40 TV stations available. It seems like every hotel I stay in has low wattage bulbs in their lamps, and is nearly impossible to read by. Though dangerous, bring a bright bulb with you if you want to read. Which reminds me. There was no Gideon Bible in my room. Glad I brought my own. Stay here if you just need a place to sleep and keep your stuff. They still have free parking, and there is a spot for every room- which is rare.

The Room was absolutely horrible - the door would mot lock as it looked like it had been kicked in previously and rigged up with screws but would not lock - the bed was disgusting and dirty - the bathroom window would not shut at all - it was stuck half open - dirty napkin on table - the tv had no remote and would not turn on- there was a looked like blood on the wall by door and no phone in room to call the desk to complain and the office was closed up tight no lights

We stayed for a whole week sunday to sunday and never got room service. Had to take old towels to office everyday. There was mice in our room that got into our food which cost a a good bit of money. Choosing this hotel was a last minute decision and chosen by price. That being said, I was not impressed by Cabana Motel. The sheets were dirty, the floor was cracked and dirty, the ceiling tiles were sagging and had water spots, the outlets were broken, and the smoke detector didn’t even have batteries in it. I stayed for 3 nights and each night I could hear something moving in the ceiling. Once it moved fast enough to shift a ceiling tile. The shower was very sensitive and the slightest adjustment would go from freezing to boiling. Anytime someone flushed the toilet from another room the shower went blazing hot. This stay was an adventure but by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.

Location was great - close to everything. The property isn’t in great condition and the linens weren’t new (some stains), but it was functional for what we needed. The service though - exceptional. The owner, Anil, and Natasha went above and beyond to accommodate our late arrival and early departure times. Incredibly kind people. They made the whole stay worthwhile.

You get what you pay for

The man checking us in was wonderful. The good things ended there. Between finding a hair claw/clip on the bed that wasn't mine, what appeared to be black mold on the walls in the bathroom, and the fact that we didn't have toilet paper or even a toilet paper HOLDER on the wall in the bathroom. I am never one to care where I stay when I just need somewhere to sleep, but even I cared this time. Nothing was overtly disgusting, but I still slept on top of the sheets with my beach towel as a blanket. Thankfully it was just one night. After 40 years in OCMD I finally found a place I won't stay again.

I liked that this property was close to the boardwalk & beach. For how much the rooms cost I didn't like sleeping on stained linens, also had broken off toilet lid in my double bed room, and didn't see a handle for bathtub water, had to only use shower. and some cable channels would get stuck in scramble mode. My family Did't like the small TVs in the King rooms. Could do better, and with the high price of this property could go down when other properties go down.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
Black mold in various spots, especially in the bathroom.
Unsafe furniture with screws sticking out — I cut my foot on one.
The first night was $150. When we went to extend for a second night, the manager suddenly demanded $400 for the same room. We left.
I accidentally left my backpack under the bed with my MacBook and iPad inside. When I called, the staff was dismissive and never returned my calls.
I drove back, scanned for the devices, and confirmed they were still there. The manager acted very suspicious. Only after hours of persistence and mentioning police involvement did another staff member quietly hint at where my bag was, which eventually led me to recover it.
During this process, I overheard staff speaking English with each other, but when I confronted them about my missing bag they suddenly pretended not to understand me. This was clearly an attempt to avoid responsibility.
Between the mold, unsafe conditions, and dishonest handling of my belongings, this place is both dangerous and shady. I chose not to file a police report only because I wanted to focus on my family vacation, but in my opinion, this was attempted theft.
The manager has a unique facial feature and actually lives at the hotel. Do not trust this guy or his staff.
Stay far away from Cabana Hotel.

Bed broke when we sat in it, there was black mold everywhere because there was no ventilation. Tv didn’t work, all lamps, air conditioning, tv, microwave and fridge overloaded on ONE outlet! Shower head and handle was tore out of the wall and moved around.

Okay motel, a bit rundown

This motel was a bit more old and run down than some of the other cheap motels in OC we have stayed at. It was sort of clean enough. The towels were old and worn out and scuff marks on the walls. Also it was annoying that there was no outdoor shower, which made our room sandier. Staff was friendly and helpful. If the price is right okay to stay here, but not great. We stayed on a weeknight. Parking was included and we were able to park in the lot a few hours before and after check in, which was nice.

Flooring for steps and porch look rotted and needs to be replaced. Mold and ants in the bathroom, hair in the drain. Noisy as in you can hear every conversation in the building. Especially outside at all hours of the night. Mattress and box spring were disgustingly filthy under the mattress pad. Will never stay here with these conditions.

The room looked nothing like the pictures. It was covered in sand. The bathroom light fixture half worked. The shower head was basically pulled off the wall and the tiles were all cracked with mold growing in them.

On a positive note, the air conditioner worked well and we were able to stream shows on the tv.

Lots of sand on the floors, and 10 years of dust on some bathroom ledges. Not cleaned all that well.

My stay here was wonderful. Great location, free parking, close to the beach, and fresh hot coffee all day in the lobby. But the best part of it was our gracious host, Anil, he was amazing! He really went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and happy throughout our entire vacation. Very polite and accommodating to our every need, and did it with a smile at all times. I will definitely come back here just because of him and his positive attitude! He truly understands what it means to be in the hospitality industry and make his guests feel welcome, happy and comfortable. Thanks Anil for all you did to make our stay a pleasant one.

When we got in the room we were hit with a strong smell of urine and the room was hot. The ac unit was broken and there was left over food in the refrigerator and the bathroom was dirty. We talked to the front desk and the offered to send someone to look at the unit. We waited for about an hour in the hot room and no one came. We ended up leaving and we are hoping for a refund.

This was a nice stay overall. The man at the front desk was very nice, super closer to the beach if you don’t wanna be right on the boardwalk, the room is small so was the bathroom, the room wasn’t the cleanliness but you can’t expect a resort from a motel close to the beach, there’s also a great and fast restaurant behind the motel from the Sahara motel and the walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors. But overall we enjoyed our stay and we would be back again

My biggest complaint about the room is the lack of hooks and places to put your towels and toiletries. The sink is a pedestal sink right next to the toilet. No fan in the bathroom so we opened the window and took a chargeable fan. I went to the dollar tree and bought hangers and door hooks for the towels. There were no wash clothes or hand towels (there would be nowhere to put it). AC works good. Take a ROKU with you if you want to watch tv (which works) - we stayed in room #47. We also didn't have a microwave which I asked for one and they brought one to our room. No long mirror. Some pictures have different \"upgrades\" so dont expect the room to look like the pictures! Could have been cleaner, there were \"unknown\" dirt spots on the walls behind the bed and bathroom. Shower curtain was gross. Pool was nice. Staff was nice. Two people in a room was tight and it rained a lot during our stay with no balcony to sit on. For the price, it was OKAY

For the price that I paid. Per night was over $250.00 The hotel room was filthy. A shower room had black mold. Floor was black. We walked across in our bare feet and our feet were black. None of them. The light fixtures work properly. One was even plugged in a wall. TV was poorly mounted. None of the furniture matched. The bed wasn't fastened to the wall so when you sat on it it tipped forward. Very disappointed. But I was only staying there just so I can go to the concert on the boardwalk. That was a place to sleep and shower. But for that price just getting those two things. Isn't worth it. It's more like I should have paid $100 a night for what I got in service in in hotel room quality. I have photos. But it won't let me upload them.

I liked that the room had a nice clean looking floor instead of the dingy carpet most places seem to have, however the bathroom looked a little neglected. It was clean enough but looks like it could use some additional upkeep besides a cleaning. This is the perfect place if you’re just looking for somewhere to pass out drunk, which that’s all we needed. But if you’re looking for a place to actually spend time this isn’t it. The toilets are like child toilets if you’re older and have a hard time getting up and down these toilets are going to be an issue for you as they’re like 2 feet toilets. The shower had hair globs on the floor. Sand all in the floor in the room which coming the beach that’s expected. Been to better. But this isn’t a family vacation motel.

Filthy rooms, sheets were not clean, bathrrom was literally falling down, hole under window in the shower went straight outside to alley.
There was only 1 socket and the 2 lights were plugged into it.
The window a/c in the wall was not completely closed, went straight out to the street.
They didnt have staff most of the time, the sign would say open but door locked ,lights on...no one home.
no handtowels, didnt have enough wash clothes even after we asked.
The bed was horrible.
It had a bed, table w 2 chairs, microwave, tv, ac and mini fridge.
Nothing else!

The location is close to the boardwalk and an easy 1.5 mile walk to the music festival at the pier. Staff was friendly. There was a small pool but we didn't use it, it didn't seem like it was set up with chairs even though there was water. Fridge, no microwave. Tiny shower but workable. The property is old and run down but clean. Parking was plentiful. The only thing that got on our nerves was only 2 towels (we made due, we didn't ask for more. Maybe they would have provided? ) and since you're near the beach, the floor of the room is dirty and sticks to your feet. Bring house shoes/flip Flips. I'm not saying it was dirty when we first checked in but it gets dirty in 30 seconds no matter what you do.

Overall, happy with the stay. Would stay here again.
