Crystal Beach has many great points to note: It's on the quiet end of the boardwalk. It's steps from the beach. The rooms are clean. Beds are relatively comfortable. Pillows are great. A/C works well. Rooms in the \"Boardwalk Building\" have kitchenettes with small kitchen sinks, coffee maker, microwave, hip-height fridge and a counter top (no stove top). Ice machines work. The property has two pools, a gym, and a poolside bar.

What they don't tell you: There is now an (approximately) $12/day parking fee that's not posted on 3rd party vendor sites. Unlike some of the other hotels with kitchenettes, there are no dishes, glasses, or flatware in any of the cupboards, so you'll have to bring your own. It's not a big deal, but just know that up front. When they say \"City view,\" you could actually be looking at the side of the next building or the parking garage, not the bay. (We spent the whole day on the beach, so we didn't care.) No safes are provided in the rooms.

Finally, shortly after check in, we had an issue with our toilet not working. Although they worked on it, the problem returned later that night. I called the front desk, but by then, maintenance had gone home. I asked for a new room. \"We'll work on that.\" We went to bed. I awoke at 4:30 am and had to walk across a parking lot to use the poolside restroom. Finally at 5:00 a.m. we moved to a smaller but nicer room. Supposedly no amt. of refund because we used a 3rd party vendor. I would however still stay here again.

Great beach front view, spacious room. Very comfortable. I would only suggest an upgrade on the tv so people can login to streaming at night / rain. Within walking distance of everything. Did not need to drive once I arrived.

Initially the room didn’t look super clean. Our AC didn’t work and we had a temporary AC on wheels that’s didn’t work. Staff had to replace the AC. The beds were extremely hard. The stay was just ok but would not go back.

Great location, you can walk to the boardwalk, restaurants and mini golf. This is an older property, and it shows. Rooms are not tiny, but need TLC. AC units do not have auto mode, so either off or on all the time.

This hotel is amazing! Clean, quiet, on the beach & Boardwalk, staff are all so nice, even the hotel pool bar was fantastic (food, employees, atmosphere). My only complaint (which is so so minor) is the TV is terrible 😆 no channel guide, half the channels don't work, and the color on the TV is awful- makes everyone look sunburned LOL
*Just know, I'm a BIG stickler for hotels- I do weeks of research before I book ANYWHERE

The people were nice, but the place can use a makeover for real. Kind of outdated compared to other hotels. Justin the Senior manager was very accommodating when we had to switch rooms and t didn't take long. Bobby at the bar was very friendly. Would I stay here again? Most likely not. Sorry!

It was close to the beach, the boardwalk was great … I guess since this was my first time going through Expedia I did not understand by getting a jacuzzi I would be getting a ground floor and not looking out at the beach …. Also they were a half hour late getting into our room and their was nothing said about an air show going on because the 250 year celebration of our country…. And it was kind of strange knowing we were going to be there for a week we should have gotten clean sheets and towels everyday …. I had to go to the reception and tell them that we need them

Really a nice place. Had top floor room overlooking the beach with balcony, Excellent view. At the end of the boardwalk, so very convenient, but not as noisy. No complaints whatsoever. Staff was extremely nice. One point, parking is extra and not included in Expedia room cost, so you may want to call to check on daily rate. It was reasonable and very secure.

It was right on the beach and the Baracuda restaurant was great. Food and drinks were fantastic. However, the rooms are outdated, our dresser drawer was broken, the middle lights didn't work, the shower was scratched up and didnt appear clean, the smells were strange. It served it's purpose for giving us a place to stay, but for the price, it was not worth it.

They did not inform us a building was being demolished next to our hotel and balcony with bulldozers and huge heavy machinery and things slamming on the ground from 630 am till night time I didn’t want to look at that my whole stay blocking the view of the ocean and water pressure in rooms was awful and we let staff be made aware of it

None of the lights, except for the bathroom lights, worked in my room. Internet speed is very poor; can barely play YouTube videos in 360p. Bed is very comfy and air conditioning is excellent. Food at the Barracuda Bar and Grill is delicious.

Booked thru Expedia and was charged $62.00 more when we arrived. It was booked for free breakfast and there was none. Balcony door lock was broken and room was not secure. No way to call front desk because phone was also broken. We were over run with ants and had to go buy ant traps. The next room blared music for 4 days that made impossible to hear the TV or sleep. Housekeeping was aware of it. When we were able to contact the desk the door was fixed and the phone replaced. Called the desk multiple times with not answer. Very disappointed.

The room had close access to the beach. Rooms were clean. The only major complaint we had was that there were 3 adults and 3 kids (2 were teenagers) in the room and we were only given 4 towels and 4 washcloths. When we asked for more we were told that they had ran out of clean ones and would bring us some later. They were not brought until the next day after we had asked for them again.

This was the second time we stayed at Crystal Beach and loved it! We decided to make it the hotel we will always book when in O C! Everyone was nice and helpful. Loved the pool with the bar and food options . Beds were comfortable, room was a good size and bathroom was huge! We didn’t use the second pool on the boardwalk this time but did the last time and it was really nice too. We look forward to staying there again on our next vacation!

Couldn't check in until an hour and a half after check in time because they were still cleaning our room. Multiple times there was no one at the front desk or answering the phone for 20+ minutes. Manager was never there and didn't call me back as requested. I had to fix the toilet in our room multiple times and the shower head was all corroded. Hotel used to be ok so I dont know if someone new took over or what but customer service is terrible, and we will not be staying there again.

The hotel has a great ocean view and an excellent location directly across from the beach. Unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing due to multiple service and housekeeping issues.

Upon arrival, there was broken glass at the hotel entrance, creating a safety concern. When we requested a luggage cart, we were told none were available. I specifically requested a room away from the elevators, but was assigned a room directly next to them, resulting in significant noise throughout our stay.

Housekeeping was another major issue. I requested room service and cleaning from four different staff members, including front desk personnel and housekeepers. Despite these repeated requests, the room was not properly serviced. During the first visit, towels were changed and the bed was straightened, but the sheets were not changed and the room was not adequately cleaned.

In addition, the hotel was consistently noisy, making it difficult to relax and enjoy our stay.

Given these service failures and the inconvenience they caused, I believe a refund for one night’s stay is reasonable and appropriate. I respectfully request that management review my concerns and issue a one-night refund as a gesture of good customer service.

There were several issues with our room. The first-floor balcony door would not lock, and it took about two hours for maintenance to fix it. The couch mattress was heavily stained, the pillowcases were dirty, and there were dead bugs on the floor upon arrival. Staff brought multiple replacement mattresses before eventually finding an acceptable solution.

The staff were friendly, professional, and worked hard to resolve the problems, which I appreciated. However, the condition of the room and an unexpected $30 charge at check-in despite having prepaid through Expedia significantly impacted our stay. While I value the staff’s efforts, I would not choose to stay at this hotel again.

We really enjoyed our staying at this hotel. The locality is perfect, walking distance of everything, restaurants, golf, stores. The room was neat and clean. The only thing we had issues with was the thermostat, it kept the room temperature at 74 degrees, even though we lower the temperature at 70 degrees. Other than that, the hotel deserves the five stars 🌟 we are giving. We will definitely book here again.

I was alerted by the staff at check-in that I had booked a pet-friendly room and they were able to change that for me, since I was not traveling with animals. I got a great ocean view room as a result. I only stayed a couple nights and the hotel was sufficient for that length of time. I would need more space to relax if I was staying longer. The pool my room overlooked appeared in very poor shape, though I think it was too early in the season for them to open yet. This place is perfect for easy access to the beach and boardwalk, plus walkable restaurants nearby.

So bad. Arrival-Signage for the office points down an alley w/no further instructions, had to call for directions to the office because sign points to a building its not in. Staff informed us of a parking fee which we were not aware of, while there the gentleman that was also checking they wanted an additional $120 from him. NONE of other hotels in area we stayed in prior ever charged fees to registered guests. Its off season, many restaurants aren't open, and its not like the \"beach\" was a big draw with the weather being chilly. So a parking fee when the place is deserted is super ridiculous. Our room is in the 5th floor of a different building. This place is not handi friendly. Yes it has parking and ramps but where do you unload your vehicle at? There is a driveway but your blocking traffic and then need to move your vehicle or you need to drag your luggage through the parking lot/garage. next once you get it up the ramp to the lobby you now need to either leave your car in the driveway blocking people or your luggage in the lobby to move your car. Same if you need to make multiple trips for stuff. The room has a narrow long hallway. We chose the room w/the jetted tub. Bathroom has burn marks on the counter & blankets stained. Sliding door doesn't lock. AC wasn't working. Maintenance not on site - never addressed. Froze one night - too hot next. View consisted of a building being demo noise was horrible. One chair in the room- used outside chair to eat inside

The door to our balcony wouldn't open. We got moved to another room and the door to the room would not shut. Very annoying. The staff seemed to not care. You can hear everything from all your neighbors. The view was nice.

Rooms were clean, staff was friendly. In the partial ocean view, a sliver of the beach was found. We had a good view of the street and could watch the the cars for the car show from the balcony. Unfortunately, it was cold that weekend, so outdoors activities were not as enjoyable.

The sliding glass door was dirty because it is a thermal door made of 2 pieces of glass so that between the glass dirt streaked the glass on the inside which clouded the beautiful view of the ocean.

Not a bad place but, as far as the amenities they advertise, Bar and restaurant were not open. None of the vending machines worked (went on every floor). Room was clean but, it was hard to look at the ocean because the windows were filled with condensation. I’m assuming a broken seal. Would probably stay again but, would make sure I would bring snacks & drinks.

The night desk people were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the beds comfortable enough. Being in a pet friendly room however meant a lot of dogs barking in the rooms and we had a view of the parking lot. It was only meant as a place to sleep on our way to NC though, so it met or exceeded our expectations of a pet friendly hotel. Especially since their pet fee was the most reasonable I could find. Happy Jacks across the road had a great breakfast! It was lovely to take a short walk to the boardwalk and get some exercise along the ocean before getting back in our vehicle for the day. Would definitely stop there again.
