Do not stay here. The doors only stay closed with the deadbolt on. Rooms are dirty. No one works the front desk. You have to keep calling the number posted on the window and they forward your calls to voicemail. Took about 40 minutes to talk to someone and then when I called Expedia to cancel the reservation and get a refund the hotel won’t answer any calls.

The place was disgusting. It was very dirty. The floor was very rotted out watching TV. I see this black thing on the floor. It turns out that it was a mouse couldn’t drink the water because they had sword problem, but they provided a bottle of water and the only reason I stay there down the street is my job. Continental breakfast was a joke. Just toast and coffee. The place needs to be shut down all the rooms need to be fixed there’s no laundry room. Also there was a used condom by my toilet. The place is disgusting and like I said I had to be there because my job is right down the road. They lie about refunds. I actually booked the wrong date I canceled it and then I had to pay cash so actually I lost my $56 and also I will not go on this website again to get discount. Thank you and have a great day.

The room was filthy with stains of liquid splashed all over the walls. The toilet was brown, and the shower was nasty. Hair was found in the bed and the floor was clearly never cleaned. The manager at the front desk could not care less and said he would tell the housekeeper. They showed us another room which was worse than the first one. We ended up leaving the first night and are now requesting a refund for the nights booked. I can’t believe Expedia is allowing this hotel to book through its website. Expedia needs to remove this place considerably soon, so nobody else can be subject to what we experienced.

The vehicle entry has large potholes. The room doors had non functioning door handle locks and only loose dead bolts. The rooms were dingy and in need of cleaning and painting, the carpets and were soiled and stained, the comforter was dark blue with questionable soiling .

This was the worst hotel experience of my life. Upon check-in, I was handed keys to two rooms (I believe rooms 11 and 15) to choose from.

When I opened the first room, I was shocked to find an unmade bed, it looked like someone had just slept in it. The second room seemed fine at first, but the bathroom was straight out of a horror movie: there were no working lights and everything was covered in rust.

I booked this hotel because it was the cheapest option available that day, but I couldn’t bring myself to stay. I reported the situation to the front desk, but they told me I had to contact the “third-party vendor” to cancel my reservation and request a refund. Expedia has been trying to contact the hotel, but they haven’t been answering and I still haven’t received my refund.

Full disclosure, I was looking for the cheapest room possible in the area, so it’s 100% true that you get what you pay for. I’ve worked with and around dead bodies for years so I’m no stranger to foul smells, but this room smelled so strongly of stale cigarette smoke that it made me ill. There was food and beverage leftover in the room and inside the microwave from (I assume) the previous guest. The door barely closed and locked, the lighting was poor, and something about the pipes made the water smell and feel off. I would come out of the shower and smell like metal / iron. The A/C also looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since Clinton was in office. The ground around the unit was in serious disrepair, with large potholes and uneven surfaces all throughout. There was also a pile of trash and debris on a tarp directly outside of my unit, including pieces of wood with nails in them. I had to be careful where I parked my car to avoid getting a flat tire. Also, it was very clear these units are frequented by people likely involved in shady business (that’s about as politely as I can put it). Harry was nice and helpful during check-in, but the woman present during checkout literally didn’t say a word to me. Guess she was too busy with her conversation on her cell phone to give me the time of day. Excluding my time in Afghanistan, this was probably the worst place I’ve ever stayed at. Shame on me for not thoroughly researching this place before booking it. Learn from my mistake.

Substandard location very dirty was not sure if under construction trash everywhere rooms are filthy and bed mattresses outside the rooms leaning against the walls bathrooms was so dirty makes you want to run and bugs I checked in have been driving for 18 hours and needed sleep layed down and felt something crawling on me and was like nope I’m out and checked out 30mins after checking in do not recommend to anyone and their family this place is were you see crime scenes and is a crackhouse.

My girlfriend was scared of the atmosphere the hotel created, so i guess the absence of staff was a blessing in disguise. I want a full refund.

When I went to check in there was no one on the property. There was a note at the front desk with a phone number to call for rooms. I called and the owner put me on hold for about 5 minutes while he talked in the background. When he came back to the phone he said that they didn't have the room that I booked but we could stay at their sister location, Melody Motel, a mile and a half down the road. We went to that location and it was an absolute dump. The door had previously been kicked in, the room was filthy and smelled like a someone had just chain smoked a pack of cigarettes in it. We had already paid and couldn't get a refund and we we're in town to work a festival and didn't have the time to find other accomodations. Luckily we brought our own sheets, blankets and pillow cases because the ones that were provided were disgusting. The bathroom was gross with no hot water and someone's dog diapers hanging on the door. If i could give negative stars I would.

Don’t stay here. Have to call someone to check in and it’s a foreign person hard to understand. No trash can in the room only one towel and washcloth. No air conditioning one of the fans in the bedroom would only work if you leave the light on. The Directtv wasn’t working couldn’t get the local Chanels . No screen in all the windows except one. Toilet had dirty water looks like wasn’t cleaned and or flushed. Water smelled and or tasted dirty or rusty. Very little breakfast food. NOT worth the stay. Owner called me at 6am hung up. There are better places to stay for $10 or $20 more in the area. Disappointed disgusting place no one at the desk and the bell is worthless. NEVER again.

I hate to leave bad reviews and would rather just not leave a review if things were not up to par, but this was impossibly bad. Let me put forward that I was NOT expecting 5 star accommodations from a budget hotel, nor was I expecting updated design, superb service, or really anything outside of a basic level of cleanliness and security. I was given a choice of 2 rooms, first room was definitely not acceptable so I opted for the second. It was posted as a non-smoking room ($100 steam cleaning fee for violations) but in reality it was PREVIOUSLY a smoking room as evidenced by the ash behind the toilet and obvious cover-up smell. Sheets were not changed and smelled like the previous occupant's body odor. No bathroom door. The single 3 drawer dresser had a pair of recently urinated-in pants left behind and mouse droppings. The dresser was covering a roughly 2\"×8\" rectangular hole in the wall. No bathroom door. Bathroom outlets were NOT GFCI which is bound to be some kind of code violation. Door did not seal and daylight could be seen around every edge. This caused me to push the dresser against the door for security reasons when I attempted to get some sleep, before the mouse decided to try digging in the trash can, prompting me to leave at roughly midnight to go sleep in the car on the shoulder of the highway as that was better. They've also posted notices about bacteria in the water, in both the rooms and the front office.

It was horrible.. the room was not clean it also looked nothing like photos . It was run down smelly and everything was falling apart. No one new the wifi information.. the m8nute i checked in i wanted to check out .. and wasnt able too because there was no refund given back .. the door didnt even close properly .. i will never again stay there nor will i suggest that place to anyone else .. there pictures where so fausly advertised..

This was the single most disgusting place I have ever rented. Black in the toilet, old popcorn sitting on a shelf and on the floor, the window sash was the wrong size and wouldn’t close, there was mold on the moulding (where there was moulding) holes in the walls, some with attempted repair and other not, every ceiling tile was stained and the lady at the desk kept trying to hustle me for cash. I will be filing a complaint with the health department.

We arrived at OYO and went into the office. No one was there. A post it had a phone number to call for help. I called and left a voice-mail saying I am leaving please refund my payment. It looked like an abandoned property. There were many red flags. The owner did call as I was leaving saying someone would be coming to check us in, but I said I did not want to stay there. An employee pulled up as we were pulling out as fast as we could. I am surprised that Expedia would even list this property.

Booked a King bed room, was given a Queen bed room. Went to the office, and was told that it was a King. After insisting, was given another room, with a King bed.The room barely had heat, on a 30 degree day. The door had no effective seal. There was a letter taped on the door, warning to not drink the water, even stating boiling would make the water worse The driveway, and parking lot was filled with potholes.Like it had been bombed! Any pictures online must have been taken in the 1950's.My wife wanted to sleep in the car.I'm sure this was a quaint motel in it's day, which is long past. I would avoid this place at all costs.

normally do not write reviews, but I had to this time. Please know I only stayed there because I had been driving for 2 days with only 1 hour of sleep. I would have left if I had any more strength to stay woke. I arrived at the hotel around 12:30am-12:45am. I was given the key to room 2. As soon as I walked in, I noticed how cold it was, so I look for anything that could turn up the heat. Found a thermostat, that was blocked at 68 degrees you could not turn the heat up any further. Then I pulled the comforter back to make sure it appeared clean. There was something on the comforter that looked like poop. The shower and toilet were so badly stained. Then to top it off there was a noticed on the door to no drink the water. Now if I cannot drink the water then why would I use it to brush my teeth or wash my body with contaminated water? When I went to the front office to express my grievance, she gave me the keys to room 16. Guess what, that room was cold. But the bed was better. But the toilet, shower, and sink were stained as well. Both bathrooms need to be replaced. We slept in our coats, hats, and gloves to stay warm. This was such a horrible experience. I am disappointed with Oyo hotels in Wilkes-Barre they really need to do better. My overall thoughts are to close this hotel down for a much needed make over!

I’d like to start by saying something nice, the young woman who eventually came to the front desk to check me in was pleasant and kinda cute in her pajamas and fresh nails. The pit bull behind counter was really sweet…. he was probably warning me to stay away… the lot is overflowing with trash, the pictures on the sight are not anything like the current dilapidated premises… there was hot water, but no heat, the rush of the near by highway traffic was soothing as tried to stay warm under two overused blankets. The pillows would have been fine if they weren’t so thin.. the floor hadn’t been swept, the bathroom .. the shower was covered in mold and brown stains… the sink had a century of hard water stains.. a mouse hole in the anti room was filled with the extra wash cloth.. the microwave, I am b pretty sure whatever was growing in it barked at me when I opened the door… pass this property by… sleep in a dumpster it will be better I am certain of it

Checked in, told no towels in room. Staff bought some with a remote. Remote had dead battery, staff told me a fresh battery would be delivered. It wasn't. One light blanket on bed, room was cold. Horrible, do not go here!! No wifi unless youre in the lobby, no trash cans in room, hot water ran out within 10 mins, wasnt swept, old dirty wash cloth still in bathroom. Pet hair on my towels and bedding. Dead lady bugs squished on wall and curtain. Room looks like it hasn't gotten painted in years. Bathroom door was so dirty it was black. Pics of rooms on hotel.com definitely dont match. When shower is turned on, water leaking from wall and baseboard. Smelled moldy. Customer service is horrible. Not worth the money. 0 Stars!!!

My room looked NOTHING like the pictures online! I actually left immediately after seeing it and took the $120 loss (\"No refunds if you booked online!\") -- that's how awful the room and property are. By far the worst motel room I've ever seen. Dirt on floors; bare, stained/cracked walls with no art, broken toilet seat, much hair and dirt in the sink, disgusting shower, broken bathroom door, badly stained comforter and pillow cases... and this is just what I noticed in the first two minutes before I left. Do not be fooled by false advertising - it's truly laughable how different my room looked from the pics online. Avoid at all costs!

My room did not look like the picture you showed. On a scale of 1 to 10 it was a zero, that bad. They charged me $12 over the listed price plus a $50 deposit.
I arrived at 6 PM and the room was not ready. I was told 15 minutes, but it turned out to be an hour. They had to assembly the bed, and the TV remote did not work. It is on a noisy road, but I was awake most of the night checking outside to make sure my car was safe!

Scam - no refund policy no matter what

Attention, do not book here! The OYO Hotel Wilkes-Barre East just feels like a scam.

You are better off putting 20$ more in a night and sleeping in a Super 8 or Motel 6 hotel which guarantee you at least a minimum of security and comfort.

You will read my review and say \"yes, but there are so many positive reviews, exceptional 10/10\" Take a moment to reconsider the dozens of reviews that confirm the mediocrity of this place.
You might even wonder if the positive reviews are not false!

My experience was short, but traumatic: to start with, this hotel supposedly built in 2017, is falling apart! When we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist announced that she had only two rooms left. She gave us the keys and asked us to visit the rooms to choose the one we wanted. (There were only 3 cars in the parking lot, one of which the driver seemed to be getting dressed) The first room had been suddenly vacated a short time ago (it was 10pm). The smell of cigarettes was unbearable even though the receptionist confirmed that it was a non-smoking room. The second room had a lock whose security left much to be desired (full of traces of forced openings). Once inside the room, we could see that no cleaning had been done: unmade bed, garbage behind the door, things on the floor... and a mouse in the bathroom. Not to mention the mold on the ceiling…

OYO Hotel refused to refund me even if they could not provide us another room.

The hotel is a SCAM it's nothing like the pics when I get there to check in the man said your room isn't ready yet with the king bed you ordered but we do have one available if you want to look. I go look and the room door was open not even locked dirty and smelled toilet and sink clogged mold and mildew everywhere in the bathroom. I look over and seen a bedbug crawling on the bed board and one on the wall!! I left went to the desk and told the man no about the room! He left I thought he went to go find another room however he left the property for at least 30 minutes another gentlemen came as I told him I was waiting as well however he was already there and left to go find another hotel bc he gave this man the same excuse your room isn't ready yet so I assume it's an excuse he always uses bc his pictures are scams on the internet!!! That gentemlen came to let him know he found another hotel and wanted the paper back he signed and the guy gave him a hard time about as the man was a federal agent he then threw his paper at him... this place should be shut down and should not be in busniess with the health department he must have paid them off to keep open bc that place is nasty.. stay away from there and I would never recommend it to anyone. The only thing good was the manager he called me the next day to apologize and said Expedia approved my refund and I would get it back within 15 days

The motel is something outta a scary movie. First of all there was no water. The pipes had frozen. The motel hostess asked if I was ok with that. What choice did I have? It was 7 degrees. I was frost bitten already from packing the car for 3 hrs trying to get everything to fit. My fingertips are still numb. The room was semi clean and comfortable. But not warm enuf. They had those portable radiator heaters that just emit heat. Not push it out. Plus a chill was coming in from the A/C in the window. I put a sheet that I had around the A/C to stifle the coolness. It’s better than being outside in the cold. But a very disappointing stay.

Filthiest rooms I've ever seen. Doorknobs were hollow, and doors were beat up. There were holes and wiring on the walls. The second room I was shown was in similar condition, with a window broken and no functioning heating (despite the owner trying to convince me that it was). The owner told me that he showed me two rooms and didn't like it, so he wouldn't waste any more time on me and to leave. I had to spend 3 hours on the phone to finally get my money back.
Do not stay here unless you don't mind sleeping in smelly, disgusting rooms and being treated badly.

Don't stay at this hotel! Zapped my money, nofund

This Hotel is terrible. I booked through online. I paid with credit card for 2 days. When I went to hotel front desk, Asian Indian lady who was working in front desk told me that I had to pay $50 damage deposit which will be refunded to my credit card after check out, in 7 to 10 business days. I believed her and paid $50. I got in my room that smelled like abandoned property. This room had no refrigerator at all. I could not preserve my food or drink healthy. I left this hotel after 2 days of stay. I called this hotel contact number 570-328-4753 asked if everything is set for my refund. Asian Indian rep said everything is OK, I have to allow 7 to 10 business days for refund to my card. After 2 weeks I called hotel, customer service rep said they had no record of my stay, refund or room number that I stayed in for refund. So I contacted Hotel.com. in Hotel.com chat, I explained rep the situation. Rep contacted hotel and said that OYO Hotel told Hotel.com rep that OYO hotel had me in their record as no show, so there is no question about damage deposit refund, because OYO Hotel record showed as I never checked in. I said Hotel.com rep that I had credit card already posted $50. I sent Hotel.com rep through email picture of credit card transactions. Now Hotel.com rep told me this transaction was in Casino Countryside Inn name, that is not OYO Hotel name, but both are at same address at 1 Pittston Blvd, Wilkes-Barre, PA. This should not be an expedia option. This is a health hazard with many code violations. There is no cleanliness. Whole place smells like an ashtray. The room pictured is extremely misleading. No smoke detectors had plug in heater with unsealed wall A/C waited 40 minutes to check in. Room had traditional 🔑 I was worried about my vehicle being broken into. Took me an hour to get a refund and leave. Please don't stay here its not safe.

You get charged a $50 cleaning deposit at check-in and have to bring the deposit receipt in person at check-out. But it took over an hour to find someone when I checked out. I'm sure some guests just give up, leave, and lose the $50. I felt like a hostage.

I booked a very luxurious looking room with 2 king beds. The man at the front desk said my room I did not have two beds and even though I was checking in at 8:30 in the evening he said that I was going to have to wait 10 more minutes for the room to be cleaned… When I told him I booked a reservation with two rooms he said oh let me take you down to the other hotel which is a mile away. This place look like bates motel and we couldn’t even get the key to work in the door. Terrible, terrible, terrible. He said if it was not to our liking we can cancel the reservation which I am about to do. Buyer beware…

They couldn't check me in till 7:30 pm when i arrived at 6 pm , they were trying to plunge the toilet and would not answer the phone or buzzer, i was told i couldn't use the sink, when i got into the room and tried to flush the toilet it came up in the shower, by morning after trying to plunge the toilet a few times the night before , the owner asked me how everything was, i told him i couldn't use the the toilet or shower that it was filled with straight brown water , instead of coming in to plunge it , he hands me a new plunger and said my neighbor needs it when im done, i was like wt ..
I looked at him and said how about you come in and plunge it , or give me another room , he said there was no other rooms available, then his wife at checkout said it was because of people like me .... i said what your guest ... if the plumbing isnt working you dont rent the room . Dirty rooms managed by greedy indians , i dont recommend anyone staying at this place , its just a matter of time before the board of health shuts them down

Showed up to the room and it is filthy. The trash has used feminine products in it, the shower is moldy and the bathroom floor is wet with two drenched washcloths hanging out the side. Those two wash clothes were the only towels/cloths in the room and there was also no toilet paper. I had requested a nonsmoking room and the first time I walked in the room smelt strongly of cigarettes. I return to the room at 2:00 AM and I find that my key does not open the lock. There are two locks, a dead bolt and a regular knob lock. The key I was given only opened the deadbolt and I had used the regular knob lock. Contacting the manager by the number at the desk because there is no one there, he hangs up on me after I express my problem. Not knowing what to do I go back to my room and the maintenance man come out and picks the lock (he was well mannered and helpful). At 7:00 AM I am awoken by a female staff member having a very loud conversation outside my room. She was complaining about how she dosen't get paid enough so she don't clean (which is very evident by the complete disaster the room was). I went to the desk at 9:12AM to check out. There is once again no one there. I call the number again and say I want to check out and the same male manager hangs up on me again leaving me to not know what to do. I tried to call the manager back twice to figure it out and he refuses to answer my calls. I wait in the lobby until 9:37AM then I left the key on the counter and a voicemail. Terrible.

Terrible place to stay not worth the time or money. Place looked like it had not been lived in for years, covered in spider webs and cobwebs, shower was black and yellow had to go to Walmart for cleaning supplies and bed protectors. Was scared to complain or try and leave because they wanted to write down my debit card number on paper. When asking for a room was told that because my work partner is female and I am male we must share a bed and did not want to rent a double bed room to us. Absolutely rude over the phone and in person. Would rather take the lose and get a better room for more money. Did not feel safe at all and had a hard time leaving the room for work without worrying about the room being broke into.

I read all of the poor reviews before I booked, but thought that maybe the previous guests were just really picky and expected too much, so I booked a room there. Well…the reviews were right…that is the dirtiest room I have ever stayed in, and the surroundings made me feel very unsafe (and I have a very high tolerance for rough places).

Worst place in the world. You would think going to a motel with an office that someone would be in said office when you arrive. That was not the case, nor was I informed of that. I had to ask someone who was staying there what I had to do to check in, which was red fog #1. Second on the list, there was an imaginary 50$ “deposit” that they needed after you pay the 50$ room fee. That was not told to me until after I had arrived to the dump. It’s poorly run and looks like someone gave up on the place. The occupants are basically doing why they want as long as they pay for their room. If I could rate this place a negative 10 on the scale, that would be a compliment. Please save your time and money.

In the OYO Mote; room, I used the bathroom at 3 AM and flushed the toilet, and went back to sleep. YOU COULDN'T PAY ME TO STAY THERE

I had booked this hotel because my car broke down late at night and it was the only available room fot miles. It was by far the worst establishment i have ever set foot in. Front desk asked us to check our rioom which was disgusting and had water all over the floor and when we told them he told us we didn't even have a reservation even though we had one before looking at the room but at that point you couldn't hsve paid me to stay there. We went and slept in our clean car which was the preferable option. HORRIBLE!!!!

Direction link on website was wrong and wasted time trying to locate property. Property very old, rundown and filthy. Loud neighbors driving in and out. Road noise loud as well. So dirty we are worried we will be taking bugs with us. Place seemed decorated for hourly room rates.

I cant believe this place is allowed to be open . They tried to rent my famil the \"hour\" room. Door was busted open you could see it as soon as we pulled up. We had to drive home because who in their right mide keep their family in an unlocked room. Im not even going to mention the other atrocities. Stay far away.

No running water in the room, no heat, broken windows, dirty floors! This place should be closed down! Not a well maintained hotel and the doors to the rooms looked like they have been jimmied open on several occasions. The clerk first tried to charge me a 50.00 deposit and then turned around and said he wanted 100.00 deposit in case I stole the tv or microwave out of the room! He did not either from me!! Did not want to give me a room key, Told me if I went out to stop at the office so they could let me back in the room!! Very shady hotel!! I stayed 2 hours and found a cleaner, warmer, safer room 2 miles down the road from this dump!! Do not stay at this hotel!! It’s not worth 50 cents if it costs that to stay!!! Don’t Do It!!!!
