Nice hotel and friendly despite it's quite large size. Reception staff were very courteous and the restaurant and bar staff very friendly. Room was a decent size as was the bathroom. Breakfast was very expensive however.

The restaurant and breakfast was great. Room decor and bathroom was a bit dated. It’s a loud hotel too. Room not only faced the main road, but guests were loud all night/morning. I could hear talking through the walls and doors slamming all night. And the sauna was closed for maintenance. That was the reason I picked this hotel.

Celiac friendly - posh but dated

Lovely place with gluten free bread at breakfast. Staff were really nice and helpful. The only reason I don’t give a higher rating is the place felt a little tired, very sort of 60s/70s decor which is kinda cool if you like that sort of thing. I think the pictures slightly misrepresented the place, there is a picture of a library that’s about a 10 min cycle away. Aircon is almost non existent, (think it’s like shared through vents between rooms) also the sauna wasn’t working. Also they charge like 7 euros per item to wash. I guess I just felt the place didn’t justify the air of high class they were going for. If it wasn’t expensive and presented as posh it would be 5 stars as everything else was great.

Room and bathroom were lovely and clean, but mattress could use an upgrade (even though I slept pretty good!). All amenities were present, including a small fridge, tea and coffee, however, the hair dryer could use some help (upgrade?).
Overall, for one night, it was a great stay, and the young lady who checked me in, was very nice and accommodating.

Another lovely stay.

The hotel has newly refurbished plodding and bar now I hope that the rooms will follow. Whilst the rooms are looking dated and worn. The hotel staff keep them clean and in the best condition possible given their age. The beds are large and comfortable and the bathrooms are clean and have an amazing amount of hot water.

Nice hotel, pleasing appearance, booked a suite, was upgraded to the honeymoon suite, Aesthetically pleasing inside, with one exception, en-suite bathroom had all glass walls, there is nothing romantic about sitting on the toilet while your partner looks on, aside from that an excellent stay.

ice in the Restaurant

The hotel is somewhat dated and offer a limited choice in the restaurant.
Staff are friendly.
Whilst eating in the restaurant I noticed a mouse looking up at me from under the grating that goes around the restaurant.
When I reported this to the waitress she said that someone else saw one tonight as well.
I must admit this is a little worrying as they set up for breakfast at the end of the night and I'm sure the mice will come up through the grill !!

Biz trip but hotel is quite out of the way and we from Rotterdam and also quite far from europort .however price was only marginally cheaper than a hotel in central Rotterdam . But I’m sure it is good for some who have work nearby...

Very friendly staff over phone/at check in. Small pastries provided for free at check-in. Room was clean with nice amenities. Quiet, located ~15-20 minutes drive from city center. Was perfect for New Year's Eve to be away from the noise of fireworks. Did not have time to experience spa/restaurant.

A good friend of ours celebrated his 50th birthday in the pub of the hotel, and many guests stayed the night. Hotel is a bit dated, style wise, timewarp back to the 80’s, but everything is in perfect condition. Style is always a personal thing, I appreciate that.
The Carlton’s market is aimed towards the business side of the market, mainly because of its location. Staff is fantastic, and they would do anything to make a guest to feel welcome. Also it is value for money, 99€ incl breakfast for 2 is not bad, for what was offered.

A weekend in Rotterdam

Over all the hotel was good value for money. it has a small pool 10 meters. A good gym that I used and a sauna. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, in a hotel. The location isn't fantastic for tourists as it's a bit out of the city. Parking your car in Rotterdam isn't cheap either €30 a day !

Decor is reminiscent of faded Vegas type hotel, mirrored ceiling and pillars in reception and dining area, neon signs. Nice breakfast, restaurant food was good. Rooms were comfortable and had all the expected facilities. Commutable to Rotterdam centre in half an hour by car. Metro stop walking distance, busses too. Nice area.

This hotel was easy to get to off the highway. The room was very clean and spacious. The pool was warm. The staff was very friendly. We wanted to see the springtime flowers and the concerierge recommended Keukenhof. It a theme park for flowers. Very good idea. If you have a car handy its about 50 minutes away from the hotel. Beautiful gardens and nice eating area.

Functional but pleasant business hotel

This is a reasonably comfortable, little bit dated, hotel well suited for business trips to the port or industrial areas - I used to stay in central Rotterdam, but getting in and out of town for work in Botlek is a pain, so I stay here instead.
Staff are nice, food is surprisingly good (NL is not a gastronomic area in general) and if you are willing to drive the short way (or take a 30 minute stroll each way) into Spijkenisse there are a range of decent places there.

Rude, disrespectful staff. Booked a superior room for 3 and got a couples room, staff were not willing to help Resolve the problem. Bad smell coming through the window during the day, location is really bad. I wouldn't suggest this hotel to someone I care about.

Room needs more power outlets for computers

Good staff, excellent breakfast and comfortable bed. But since this hotel was completed some years ago the need for power sockets for computers, phones, tablets has not been met. Had to start unplugging TV and fridge etc to power up my devices. Location very handy for motorways. Would return - but my bring my own extension chord!

Perfectly acceptable hotel but not too much around it so not able to walk out to much but there is a soft play next door! Nice hotel but not able to use pool when swimming lessons are on which happen every weekday which impedes yr enjoyment of swimming. Breakfast is nice but bit pricey at 15 euros each every day. A nice place to stay though.

Stayed here many times over the years, for business in the local area, there is little else in the immediate area, but for my purposes is ideal location.In a few minutes by car can be on the mainroads, or into the countryside.Good service from moment walk in until leave, menus are adequate Rooms clean and tidy and generally very quiet, depending on which floor and outdoor area.Have not used in house facilities,so no comment. Recommended

Overall good experience. We chose the hotel because of a special price and because the hotel offers a pool / sona / steam room which we enjoyed very much. The lobby striked us as very \"80s\", quite dark with neon signs everywhere. The room was ok, clean. I found the mattress too hard compared to the one we own, but my partner slept like a baby. The reception staff is very nice. The location is ok, a bit out of town but we were not looking to be downtown anyway.

Happy with the 2 nights I spend here with my 17 year old daughter. Didn't have breakfast as it was an extra €15 each and I just brought my own rolls etc. Usefull fridge for my butter, milk & cheese and we got 1 free bottle of water a day for 1 pers. Top floor was nice and quiet. Airco was very useful as we had warm weather. Swimming pool was just right for us and we had a private session in the evening. The pool is not always available during the day as there are kids swimming lessons. Convenient location if coming by car. A bit out of the town.

A Great Experience

My Wife and I stayed here for one night so that we could watch our Son take part in the Rotterdam Marathon. I was pleasantly surprised at the standard of the hotel. It was clean, the rooms a decent size and it had the most comfortable mattress that I have ever had the pleasure to sleep on.
The only downside for us was the distance into Rotterdam. This was not the fault of the hotel, however and the staff gave us lots of advice as to the best way to get in. (drive to Spijkenisse and catch the Metro!!)
I can highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to use it again if I am in the area

Great but let down by location

Hotel itself was great, extremely comfortable beds and great to have access to the fitness centre and pool. Staff were fantastic - I even lost an earring while staying and the cleaning staff found it and placed it on my bedside table for me so I was delighted when I returned home that evening! The big down side and it is essential to make or break a trip was the location! We had to take a metro and a bus to get from Rotterdam to the hotel every day and so we thought we would get a day pass but it didn't cover the buses so ended up being a waste of money. The bus one way was €2.70 as well which adds up every time u come and go from the hotel.

Great Staff, Facilities and Highly Recommended

This is primarily a business hotel but I stayed over a long weekend and I had a great experience. I upgraded to a suite for a small amount and it was exceptional. The decor is a little bit tired here and there but the staff are great, service is superb and the facilities are as described. Great value for money and would definitely recommend it.

Far away from Rotterdam city centre

For travelers who want to see more Rotterdam, then the location of this hotel is not an ideal place, as it is far away and public transport is not convenient. Although the hotel is a bit dated, it is clean and hotel amenities are good. However, breakfast cost is too expensive, twice as much as what we paid on other hotels that we stayed during our holiday.

One word for this hotel - Dated. The rooms are clean enough and the staff were fine but the decor in the rooms is very out of date and everything needs a good paint. The foyer looks pretty in the pictures but once you go to your room you soon realise that that is the only part that is up to date. It is clean enough and the bed was fine. Breakfast was ok although we had asked the night before if the breakfast was included and then the next day they wanted to charge us for our Daughters as we had booked a room for 2 with a pull down bed for the child. I wouldn't mind if we had been told but pretty useless after she had eaten it. I argued this point and they refunded the money although the Manager was a little rude. Overall Ok but would not go back.

Ontzettend vriendelijk personeel (ook voor ons zoontje van 2,5). Super mooie kamer (hadden een upgrade genomen). Heerlijk eten. Fijne locatie tov strand.
