The hotel itself is very nice, the staff are helpful and efficient and the rooms are w well equipped with smart TVs and large comfortable beds. The price I paid for my stay was also a fair bit less than competing hotels were charging for the same dates.

The location is a little out of the way if you aren't driving though so bear that in mind.
We coped fine getting Ubers to the metro station at Slinge in order to get elsewhere but it would have been easier if we had our own car.
That being said, the location also meant the area was super quiet and it was easy to get a relaxing night's sleep as a result

Close to Ahoy but isolated from any walkable bars/restaurants. In an industrial area. Gloomy bar/restaurant area with not enough staff for bar and reception. Food average at best and beer is expensive €7 plus for a warm pint… Rooms small and in need of renovation as is most of the hotel.

We reserved a room with two twin beds, they provided us two single beds. I called the customer service and they apologized and verified the bed is single, then transferred me to the relocating team, I was on hold for one hour, then another person called me and she said the reception verified that the rooms are two twin bed, while they had verified twice they do not have twin beds at all. All of their rooms are single beds. That was my worst experience ever, they ruined my vacation, I wasted three hours of my daytime in Amsterdam discussing the issue with customer service and paid the charge for international call from Netherlands and at the end I was so pissed off that I could not enjoy there anymore. I will never book anything from Expedia anymore. They do not care about their customers.

Great for short stays.

The hotel itself is starting to look a little tatty from the outside. The pedestrian gate into the secure car park didn't lock.
The rooms door cards failed after a few hours and they tried to charge me twice for local tax ,so get a receipt.
On the plus side , the room was resonable , the TV had a good selection of channels , the bartender was helpful , it's one of the few hotels in Rotterdam that doesn't charge you to park , and it's cheap !

The hotel itself is good, staff are friendly , however the location is way too far , it's only good if you have a car :) you have to walk 30min to the train station ! 18 min to the bus stop ! Not good when it's cold lol

Good Hotel - Business travel for port.

Good hotel with clean rooms. Staff are good as well
Rooms are a little dated but for the price I couldn't complain. Breakfast is very over priced for what it is but have little choice elsewhere locally. Ideal location for business in Port only. I will always come to this hotel when in Rotterdam for business in the future.

The hotel is among the worst I have ever stayed . The key to the room didn't work , the tv didn't work and the phone didn't work .
I waited more than 4 hours for an iron and a board .
Absolutely terrible customer service. Bed was very uncomfortable too .

Hotel for stay during North Sea Jazz Festival

Room was well equipped - enough space and a pleasant shower.

The cleaning on my first day of stay wasn't properly executed and the towel wasn't replaced. It was corrected in the following day.
Breakfast facilities are pretty basic and it was not well scaled for the event.
The entry during the night was a bit cumbersome with a large entrance door which took some time to get opened.

The staff was well interested in making the stay pleasant and was quite helpful.

Booked a deluxe room, although I am not sure what is \"deluxe\" about it. The bed was really uncomfortable with a cheap mattress.
When making a tea or coffee you have to plug the kettle in on the floor and there is no milk/cream.
The rest was just...OK and nothing more
Real budget hotel feel to the room.
It has a secure car park and the staff are very friendly, however, I will stay elsewhere next time

Very good for business stay

Very convenient location (for my meeting - not a tourist destination) and smart lobby & bar / restaurant area. Staff were very friendly & helpful.

My only complaint was the pube-covered soap bar left in the shower - the cleaners obviously forgot to remove!

Worst Service ever

I booked this hotel for 5 nights, I wish I didnt. On the 4 day than they change the bedsheets, I wonder why they even bother.
The only reason I choose this hotel because is near Ahoy exhibition centre. The service staff at the counter was rude and have a attitude problem. I think I can understand why, in the morning she cook the eggs for the guests, cleared the plates and still at the front desk checking in guests.
I feel that she treat every guest like her enemies. I see everything is like a issue to her.
If there is a rating below POOR she will definitely fit in that category.

No bath mate - had to use a bath towel that was not replaced for the second night. The floor was not properly hoovered and power in the corner by the bed. Parking good and breakfast OK. Barbecue meat was not very good.

the hotel is a fair hotel, the biggest asset for the hotel is the staff they could not do enough to make the stay pleasant. The food was better than expected and enjoyed every meal although to much to eat on the plate. Being on the top floor was an asset as the wireless was best there as the ground floor was very slow.

Review of Bastion Hotel Rhoon

Staff were friendly and helpful. Most hotels have breakfast included in the price of the room and so I was surprised to get extra bill for breakfasts. When people inquire about how far it is from a certain place it's would be fair to let them know there is no public transport in the area.

I spent 15 days there. All employees were always courteous, but the toilet door spring required needlessly great effort to overcome, the \"liquid\" soap in the dispenders often had a jelly-like consistency and would slide off your hands and fall to the shower floor in useless clumps, and the lighting was marginal. Refrigerator and coffee in the room were a great convenience and I used the gym frequently-main reason I stayed there. Location was good for me - right off the main highway. Cleanliness was always checked by a housekeeping manager in the afternoon.

Good for a few business nights

The Bastion hotel chain can be relied upon to give a good value stay in pleasant surroundings. As with most Bastions this one is located close to the main road network for easy access. The surrounding area is what you expect from Bastion being based on the edge of an industrial estate but this is the price to pay for easy access and a large car park. The Bastion menu selection is limited but we often go out for dinner so not too much of an issue.

Perfect location, average hotel

Stayed at Bastion night before had to be working in Europort, Perfect location for easy access to main road. Rooms were basic with extremely basic wetroom bathroom. Food was average in restaurant although it did look like I made a bad choice compared with what other people were eating. Pleasant atmosphere though. I needed a reasonable /cheap room for the night and it did what I wanted it for.

Exactly what I wanted and expected

I liked my stay very much as it was exactly what I wanted and expected. I needed to be near the Botlek area so location wise the hotel is near enough. I also wanted to be able to park without hassle of parking garages and additional costs so this is why I did not want to be in Rotterdam centre. The room was comfortable and clean and personnel very friendly. As long as the price is right I will book again next time and recommend to others.

The hotel was of the standard expected for its location. Its location close to the port area and alongside industrial buildings would indicate it is primary for business people. It has plenty of free parking space. Restaurant food was acceptable, there is a Macdonalds close by. Has a smoking room with a TV so smokers do not have to stand in the rain. It was very quiet during my stay due to the holiday period in Holland so there was a minimum of staff which meant there were periods of waiting for service. If business took me to this area I would stay there again.

The room I was in was above the main entrance the windows were left open and the heating on full. The room smelt of cigerette smoke. Just below the window was people smaking and talking loudly into the late evening. So the window and vent needed closing. The heating I switches off but due to floor heating also the room got unbearably hot. Shame as night before had same hotel different room on ground floor and I would have given it 4-5 star

I liked the room. Nice bed, nice tv. Bathroom was really small though. The hallway wasn't all that clean and during the day you could barely pass due to all the cleaning stuff. If you don't have a car, it's not great to reach. The nearest busstop is a 15 minutes walk away.
Also the first manager I talked to when checking in forgot to charge me the extra costs. He also didn't speak Dutch at all. The manager checking out was very polite and friendly.

De kamer oogde netjes, de badkamer ook. Er was een kleine koelkastje, heel fijn en ook een Nespresso. Dat zijn pluspunten. Echter het laken om mijn matras lag niet vast en verschoof tijdens het omrollen waardoor het matras bloot kwam te liggen. Ik vond het echt niet hygiënisch dat onder het laken geen molton oid zat. Op het matras zat in de hoek een hele vieze vlek met een zwart kruis erdoorheen getekend. Dit vond ik echt heel smerig. Vervang dat matras of doe er op zijn minst een hoes omheen. Bah.

Uiterst vriendelijk personeel. Goed te bereiken. Ruime parkeergelegenheid. Was geen waterkoker maar binnen 10 minuten geregeld.
Groot minpunt is dat de airconditioning pas kan werken als de buitentemperatuurmeter boven de 18 graden komt. Raam kan op een kier maar erg warm op de kamer. Verder was de matras erg zacht. Kamer 93.

Net en schoon hotel. We sliepen er 1 nacht omdat we naar de vrienden van Amstel gingen. Met een goede tien minuutjes ben je met een taxi bij Ahoy, ov is wat lastig. Het hotel is dichtbij de snelweg dat is ideaal.

De kamer was prima, schoon en netjes.
Het ontbijt ook.
Het diner was koud! Slecht. Lange wachttijden..mensen liepen weg..erg jammer. De bediening had geen schuld. De twee van de bediening, zonder ervaring, liepen hard genoeg om iedereen te helpen. Maar met één opwarm-iemand (zeker geen kok) n de keuken, die te laat was, onvoorbereid...ga je geen restaurant runnen. Had het gesloten, zou ik zeggen. Want wel normale prijzen hanteren, is natuurlijk belachelijk!

Het hotel ligt heel makkelijk aan uitvalswegen. Heel snel weer op weg, maar ook heel makkelijk naar het centrum. Zeer nette kamer, die schoon en compleet was. Wat jammer was is het diner in het restaurant. Een beperkte kaart in het weekend is op zich niet erg. Maar als er gerechten dan ook nog niet meer mogelijk zijn is jammer. Heb er wel gegeten, maar niet mijn eerste voorkeur. Wel goed en lekker gegeten. Vriendelijk personeel die een gevoel van welkom brachten.
