The hotel is in an excellent location any The Metro is nearby to access all areas of Rotterdam. In the same building there is the food hall which has a variety of food outlets in it. The bar in the hotel only opens on Friday and Saturdays (out of season?)

Customer service was lacking unfortunately.
Check-in was slow but ok. The girl at the desk mentioned a new system being the cause of the delay. There were a few people waiting but only one person behind the desk.

Checkout was actually terrible.
We left early, about 6am. The girl behind the desk had headphones on and didn't remove them until we were right at the desk (she did see us coming). I had to tell her the room number three times in the space of 5 minutes. It took her a while to 'log into the system'. I mentioned we needed to catch a train and that we had paid on arrival. Perhaps she could email me if anything else was needed. She said she couldn't allow us to leave until she checked the room on the system. Frankly, she needs to be taught some manners. Have never had a reply like this! Very disappointing as up until that point, the experience had been great.

I'd probably consider going back but I'd be very mindful of staff and their attitude.

We had a great stay here, comfortable room - shout out to Chantelle who helped us when we had a room issue at the start of our trip. She was incredibly helpful and friendly. The sauna and gym were small but clean and had everything you could need. Hotel is in an excellent location, near trains, tram, sites and restaurants.

Overall fantastic hotel to stay at, the vibes were great and the hotel has very eccentric and modern decor. The staff were courteous and helpful, and housekeeping cleaned my room up to standard daily. The amenities were also great and you could tell the hotel didn’t skimp out at all. The rooms were incredibly spacious, and the hotel is conveniently located next to a metro station as well as a food market in the same building on the ground floor. Would definitely come back again if I’m in the area.

The hotel is in a good location, right next to the Foodhallen and close to Metro stop. Rooms were a good size, comfy bed, clean and modern. I stayed 4 nights with work in a superior room (which faced the street) and then added 2 nights booking of my own. I was dissapointed that they wouldn't let me stay in the same room without paying extra (I had just booked a big group booking with over 30 rooms so I felt justified in asking), so we decided to move room (to a comfort). However the comfort rooms are internal facing rooms and have windows that don't open. Unfortunately our air con was not working so it was pretty stuffy and warm and we didn't sleep very well. They gave us a fan, but it didn't have much effect. The rooms that face the street at least you can open a window but the road can be a bit noisy.

We stayed here the night before a cruise. There is an excellent food hall attached to the hotel, and in the morning we just walked across the street to the terminal. Although we didn’t venture outside the hotel, it appeared to be a bustling dining and entertainment area. The rooms were immaculate, and the hotel had a really modern quirky feel. Finally, the staff was very helpful, and even printed our boarding passes for us.

Good stay, ideal for cruise port but a good 10/15 minutes walk to centre (although good regular tran nearby). Parking under ear but a little bith tight for an SUV type vehicle. Nice welcome at reception and room available. Booked the large terrace room which is huge and a massive terrace (shared with three other rooms). Big bathroom with bath and shower, separate toilet, and two basins. Overall a good stay in busy developing location.

We had an executive room which included a patio out front. The room was great with lots of seating but the bathroom had an accordion door, which was a little awkward. Our only issue was that we were across the street from the cruise terminal and there is a bar outside. The noise was very annoying on Friday and kept us up till 2 am. The staff was wonderful and Dimitri was able to get us into our room before noon. I have lost my paperwork but the wonderful lady, first desk on the left I think her name is Chantal, was also very very nice.I am sorry if I got her name wrong, I did contact the hotel for the info but they did not get back to me. Great place to stay before a cruise. All we had to do is cross the street.

Checking in was easy with Roos and Annouck at the reception. They held our luggage until our check in. The adjacent food hall was great all kinds of food options. We had trouble getting in our room. It was 120 but I read it as 170. Of course our key wouldn’t work on that one, but there were 2 people cleaning a nearby room and was very helpful to us and walked us to our correct room. Their names are Hanae and a guy jaellah. Also Pedro Francisco assisted us with a corkscrew for the bottle of wine I had ordered for our room. Walking distance to cruise terminal the next day was simple. Directly across the street. Outstanding stay

Too hip and trendy for a middle aged couple

The hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, service was good, we really appreciated them letting us leave our bags early. No complaints, just a little weird with the bathroom set up in the room. Would not be comfortable staying there with anyone other than my husband. Probably not fo r my demographic, but perfectly fine for the cost.

The hotel was very good clean tidy plus the staff were very helpful, our room came with a bath with a shower in which Alison couldn't get in very easy so they moved us to a different room with a walk in shower, nothing seemed to much a problem.
I am gluten and dairy intolerant so when we went for breakfast they had a lot of items i could have, we both enjoyed our breakfast it was very very good

This property is beautiful! The staff went above and beyond to help us get settled in. The room is truly the coolest room we have ever experienced! I chose this property because it is right across the street from the Holland America cruise terminal. But i would book this again even if we weren't going on a cruise. It's that good!

I asked for two twin beds and we got a queen. Being I was there for only one night it was doable.

The hotel was booked so we could not get another room. Staff was very apologetic, maybe should have offered a complimentary latte or something.

You try once..once only

For over €150/night I would expect breakfast but that was another €20 on top. The room had not been cleaned there was a trash bag in the closet and a pillow with coffee stains that was conveniently just flipped over. No soap in the bottle by the sink. Yes I could have complained only to get a sorry but ultimately the room should have been checked where it clearly wasn’t. There are too many hotels in this price range that I would prefer to stay in next time. The corridors where the rooms located reminded me of the movie the shining was just expecting to see Johnny pop out.

Très belle localisation, il y a une station de métro à quelques pas, et même un food hall au rez de chaussé qui est excellent! La chambre donne une vue sur l’intérieur de l’hôtel, donc aucune intimité, alors on doit ferme les rideaux, donc aucune lumière naturelle! Nous avons été déçue du service offert, l’air climatisé de la chambre de fonctionnait pas (le thermostat restait toujours à 23-24 degré Celsius et aucune circulation d’air), nous l’avons mentionné à la réception le lendemain matin de notre première nuit, et on nous a dit que ce serait réparé à notre retour. Lors de notre retour à la chambre vers 17h ça ne fonctionnait toujours pas! Nous avons donc recontacté la réception pour les aviser à 3 reprises durant la soirée, et au final on nous a dit d’endurer, donc aucune offre de nous changer de chambre pour notre dernière nuit. Au Check out, nous sommes avons sûrement tombé sur une gérante puisqu’après lui avoir expliqué la situation, elle nous as directement offert le déjeuner gratuitement (une valeur de 20 euros par personne, converti en dollars canadien ça vaut la peine), ce que nous avons accepter puisque nous avions déjà payé à l’avance notre séjour. Le déjeuner est excellent, beaucoup de choix!

Hotel Bruno exceeded our expectations in every way. Set in a vibrant and trendy part of Rotterdam, it offers the perfect blend of comfort and style. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was spotless, beautifully designed, and offered a stunning view of the harbor—an ideal retreat after a day of exploring.

The location is outstanding: easy walking distance to many of the city’s main attractions, with plenty of great restaurants and cafes nearby. There’s even a restaurant onsite for added convenience. The hotel also features an onsite parking garage, which made things especially easy for us.

It’s at the end of the Erasmus Bridge, which gave us a perfect place to walk and enjoy everything that Rotterdam has to offer - international restaurants, local culture, museums, etc.

The atmosphere is distinctly urban chic—modern, energetic, and thoughtfully curated. We felt completely safe in the area, had no trouble getting Ubers, and found it a perfect base for discovering all that Rotterdam has to offer. Local friends recommended Hotel Bruno to us, and we’re so glad they did. Absolutely worth it.

Our stay was very enjoyable! The location of the hotel was perfect for a couple days spent in Rotterdam before our cruise as the cruise terminal is right across the street. The room was very comfortable, the service was great! We arrived early and the front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating, offering our luggage storage while we had our brunch and checked us in early. The decor of the hotel was really unique! However, the room would use a few more shelves and lights. The breakfast was delicious with a lot of various choices and absolutely worth it!
We would highly recommend this hotel for any visitors!

I stayed at the Room Mate Bruno Hotel in Rotterdam for five nights during my 2025 trip to the Netherlands, eager to reconnect with a friend and explore the city and beyond. The hotel proved to be the perfect base for my adventures; just a short walk from the iconic Erasmus Bridge and directly opposite the cruise terminal.

Its prime location near Wilhelminaplein Metro/Tram station made getting around the city incredibly convenient. Plus, an Albert Heijn supermarket right behind the hotel made it easy to pick up essentials. Within walking distance, I enjoyed visiting the Fenix Museum, Fenix Food Factory, and exploring the vibrant bars and restaurants around Rijnhaven Harbour area.

A major highlight was Foodhallen Rotterdam, directly connected to the hotel lobby; a spacious, industrial-style space offering a diverse array of food stalls. It’s a culinary haven in one lively spot, making dining both fun and effortless.

The hotel itself is modern and well-maintained, with contemporary facilities. The lobby kiosk was a particularly thoughtful touch, adding to the convenience. My room (274) was spotless and furnished with a plush, comfortable bed that guaranteed restful nights.

Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to return to Room Mate Bruno. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Rotterdam!

Mind The Front Entrance Stairs

Fantastic location if you’re boarding a cruise ship in Rotterdam…literally right across the street. The downside: The front entrance is a set of wide and treacherous concrete steps with no handrail. Danger awaits schleping your suitcases up these 5-6 steps, especially for older folks like me (75). There is no other way to access the hotel.
Rooms were fine and bed comfortable. Amenities good and as expected. Bonus: The lobby is attached to a food hall with a good variety of food and beverage options. Hotel staff excellent! Plenty of eating options nearby and very scenic walking in the area. Hotel breakfast buffet very expensive at 20 Euros per person per day.

This hotel was in a really good spot, close to the water and seemed like a popular spot for cruise people. It was a block and half away from the metro and tram which ran regularly all day and night. A grocery store was close about a 15min walk away. There were several tourists spot close as well. Particularly the Fenix museum which was really nice. Reception was modern with plenty of seating and infused water with small snacks loaded in the am. The fitness center had everything for a workout except for a floor mat which wasn't essential since I brought my travel yoga mat. The room was nice with the coffee in the room. Black out curtains were great for the early morning sunrise even though it wasn't sunny every day of me trip. I got an upgrade to a bigger room but the partion for the bathroom didn't really work. I was staying alone so it didn't matter. Overall I would recommend because it was quiet and clean as well as accessible to the city but not overcrowded with tourists for early June. I went for a record label annivsary party and had a great time in Rotterdam.

This was a great place for a cheap, 2 night easy stay in rotterdam.

Location - 10/10! this is easily accessible to the metro and trams, which unlocks all rotterdam! Would be very easy for the cruise port as well as a pre-cruise hotel.

Service - 10/10! Everyone I interacted with was kind, friendly, and answered all my questions promptly.

Room -5/10. I was “upgraded” to a comfort room. However, the room was not the cleanest, with plenty of stains on the carpet and walls, a bathroom with illy stocked bottles of toiletries, and an interesting smell radiating from the room that did thankfully go away. I also had an “interior” room, meaning my room didn’t get much natural light.

Overall, if I once again found a cheap nightly rate, I’d stay again!

It is so cramped in the room that the refrigerator door cannot be fully opened. The light next to the faucet is really dim. The sound insulation is so bad that it was hard to go to sleep because of people talking in the corridor.

Don’t Get a Room Over the Food Court!

Do not, I repeat, do not let them put you in a room over the food court on the first floor. The loud bass vibration starts at noon and goes non stop until almost midnight. It’s terrible. They assured me at the front desk it would be turned down at 10 pm. Still pounding at 11:45 pm. I asked to be moved but the hotel was full.

We had an overnight stay. The hotel was well located for cruise ship port. Also short walk over the bridge to shopping. Tram stop on the corner, easy to catch train & tram to or from airport.
Nice breakfast, and a good food hall next door.

Modern and colorful interior with a friendly staff. The hotel is well-located near train and tram stations, with a small supermarket just 2 minutes away. Our room was spacious and generally clean. However, some old stains on the furniture and carpets—especially in the lounge—took away from the overall impression. Still, a convenient and comfortable stay.

Fantastic hotel and perfect stay

Fantastic hotel. Vibrant, yet also chilled and relaxing. Great location for exploring the lovely Katendrecht district. The staff and service were excellent and the room was extremely comfortable and well appointed. My fridge wasn’t working so I mentioned it to reception and it was replaced in no time at all!

Very Accommodating

Very friendly staff that made sure we could check in early. Room was spacious and clean. If there is one thing I would recommend is that getting a room near the street next to the Food Hallen on the weekend is not a good idea as the sound from the music and people outside on the street can get loud. It is a good location near public transit and the harbor if you intend to go on a day trip up the river.

Stylish hotel, located next to metro+team lines.

Stylish interior, rooms were quiet and spacious. Would recommend for couples or small groups looking for a nice spot to take in the city in style. Evidently used to be a tea warehouse for the Dutch East India Company, so the walls are solid and the ceilings are ludicrously high in rooms.
