This is an upscale dormitory rather than a hotel. Lots of students who make use of rooms with kitchenette. Climate control in a large part of the hotel was down when I visited, so felt lucky to persuade an inexperienced receptionist to give me another room. The bed was comfortable but the room was not clean, with plenty of hair in the shower and dust on shelves. Plenty of social activities on the ground floor. Useful breakfast. Parking opportunities next to the hotel.

I did not like that as a guest, i have to go to the laundry room in the basement to iron my clothes.
Nor did i like that there was no utensils, cups or plates in the room and i had to go to the reception to collect a basket of pots, pans, dishes ect and carry up to my room.
This is not what i paid for. Its ridiculous.

Our checkin was pleasant and efficient. Shortly after arriving in our room my partner noticed some bug bites she had acquired in the room. We notified the front desk. They asked for photos as ‘proof’. We provided these. We were asked for clearer photos which we provided. We were told there would be a follow up and ‘investigation’ and we are still waiting four days later. In the event, we were moved to a new room but beyond this we received no apology or anything of further substance as compensation. Oh well, I guess the customer isn’t always right!

Came for the jazz festival and the hub was a convenient and affordable option. Friendly helpful staff, decent food, close to other bars and eateries and tram stops. There was no hip hop. I just like alliteration.

The place is near the tram. The room is huge and there’s kitchen with microwave and water boiler and even a coffee maker. Will stay again next time in different cities. We tried the one in Amsterdam too and it was equally great!

Great location, large room and social hub.

Spacious room and very well located next to a tram stop and some places to eat opposite too.
The social hub, had plenty of social areas such as a nice bar and games space.
The lift was slow and lights flickering and the room itself was great condition however some attention to carpet stains and curtain stains and some minor repairs to the corner of the wall.
Otherwise the room was a delight, great condition bathroom looked recently refurbished. The bed was huge. Quiet and well equipped with coffee machine, fridge, microwave, cooker, safe and a desk with plenty of shelving.
The staff were welcoming and friendly throughout.
Just 3 stops on tram from Rotterdam Blaak which was able to take us into Amsterdam Zuid to continue our trip but also goes to the airport. The team also went to Rotterdam central where a train to Amsterdam Central can be caught.
Lots to do in Rotterdam! We loved the zoo!

I arrived late, under the weather and tired. I walked in. I saw a reception area that looked like ... Gaza. The lady at the front desk was very nice, but this was not enough to make up for the shock of the reception area's condition. In comparison to similar properties in other countries (e.g. Singapore) the first impression was a mere disappointment. However, my room was large, clean, internet was problem-free, and dorm's public areas also in good condition. The room was very dark and when I asked for an extra desk lamp there was none to give me. In retrospect, for the same money I could have booked a proper hotel room. These types of places make sense for longer stays (week ).

Rooms v decent and clean. Once you get your head around sharing diff parts of hotel with students it’s good.. even if feel old. Down side was the bar wasn’t open as they had an art exhibition the night we arrived. Parking on the other side of the road (domino’s) had v diff parking restrictions so free from fri eve till Monday!

What we had booked was a superior suite! While what we faced was a very basic room + a kitchenette with no utensils and a leaking sink! The curtain in the shower so short that all the water was spread in the bathroom.
We cancelled the second night and left in the morning.

Easy to locate, about 15mins drive from Central Station, 20mins walk to Rotterdam Blaak Station,
Tram stop outside hotel. Supermarket, Pizzeria and other shops just across the road.
Staff were super friendly & helpful

Breakfast is TIL 11 on weekends though 10:45 there is no eggs, no orange juice and you eat the remains of food competing for a place at the Commons in a table dirty and untidy. Reception girls good mannered and educated instead as well that the guy st the bar. Breakfast service terrible.

Very decent, but don't expect frills

TSH is about basics in a hip package delivered at the right price. This stay didn't disappoint. Got a complimentary upgrade to suite at the check-in. Suite was more like a bigger room with a kitchen counter (but no kitchen utensils, plates, or even a coffee cup - although a nespresso machine and complimentary pods are provided). The bathroom was basic but completely sufficent - the only problem was the low pressure of the shower.

Staff was incredibly friendly, and everything worked just fine. Will be back

Outstanding value

Booked because cheaper than most in Rotterdam, but exceeded expectations in every way. Buzzy atmosphere didn’t surprise, but the rooms were peaceful and conducive to sleep. Staff could not have been more helpful. We were 20-30 years older than many of their guests, but felt very much at home. Would definitely stay again.

Great hotel and extremely helpful stuff - friendly and professional.
Fasts check in and check out.
Lots of kitchen pots and cutlery provided you ask for them at the right time.
Totally unpleasant experience on 21st August morning when the water was suddenly cut off leaving me for a quite long period of time all covered in shampoo. A whole morning wasted and, to make matters worse the battery from the door’s electronic lock went dead and had to be replaced. Basically had to spend the whole morning in or around the room.
Apart from these two incidents everything was perfect.

Larger than most of the hostel that I have been to. I booked the suite which comes with private bathroom and kitchen and 1 double bed. Overall is good, but one thing that they should have mentioned earlier was for the suite, it did not come with kitchen utensils. You have to borrow pots, pans, plates etc from the register and the supply is not guaranteed, it is all based on availability. So even with the kitchen, we couldn't do much because short of utensils. It can be reached easily by tram. About 10-15mins tram ride from the centraal station.

Nice simple hotel with friendly staff

The student hotel is exactly that: A hotel for students but you can still stay there and enjoy the facilities frequented mostly by young people. The rooms are simple but comfortable enough. My only complaint was that the wall was dirty (stained with food) and they didn't clean it when I asked. Also, the shower curtain is way too short and the water gets all over the bathroom.

The hotel is well situated to visit Rotterdam, and there are grocery stores close if you want to make your own food, although kitchen utensils are limited. It seems to be a hybrid between a hotel and college dorms, with lots of common spaces. The upper shelves were extremely dusty, and there was also a bit of dust in the cabinets. Still a good value for the location.

Although the building was in the middle of being updated, i was pleasantly surprised with the amount of leisure and study space the owners have designated for their guests usage. I've stayed here before about three years before and the hotel was in superb condition but it has since been heavily run down and what made matters worse was the poor insulation between the rooms, the floors and even from outside noise.

I don't recall experiencing this last time so maybe I just got lucky with the position of the room last time. You can hear people moving chairs several rooms over like it was happening right next door. The hotel staff came in to have a listen and agreed so I was given a room in a different wing on the building where I could hear the television of someone quite loudly till the early hours - it wasn't from immediately next door as that was the stairway so who knows where that was coming through from. Speaking of the stairway, every time someones goes up and down the stairs, the headboard of the bed moves quite violently back and forth due to the poor construction of the building - something that very much not typically Dutch!

Generally, the water pressure is truly weak, the room was not attended to throughout my stay apart from being woken up but some staff trying to add an extra single bed to my room for reasons best known to someone else.

Although the reception staff are helpful and pleasant, this hotel has seen much much better days. I will not be staying here again.

Fun location. Young vibe but still quiet.

Staff very accommodating. Let us leave ice cream in their freezer for later consumption and bags in locker area while we explored the city centre on foot. Everything is accessible through a short walk or jumping on the metro. Thank you for making our stay in Rotterdam a pleasant one.

My stay was very nice indeed, the staff in the hotel was very friendly and helpful, with high security around the building, very safe indeed, especially for solo traveller. The restaurant affiliated with the hotel provides much convenience for meal as well.
The room was nicely decorated, with thoughtful wordings and design concept. Plenty of spaces for common areas for mingling, quiet time, very suitable for students for longer stay. Just 1 min walk from the tram station.
Highly recommended!

The hotel is quite new, clean and modern. In the entrance you have several game tables and space to chill. There is a restaurant as well, we didnt tried due to short stay but the breakfast buffet in the morning seems quite generous. They have bikes as well! for 9€/24h (it is good for moving around the city)

At first, I thought uh-oh, hotel is very hostel like and I am way over staying at hostels. Getting into my room was a pleasant surprise, very clean and comfortable. However; it is a \"no frills\" place, as in minimal toiletries, no hair dryer, and room cleaning every other day, but for the price I was OK with it. The front desk's people were very nice and helpful and the trolley stops right outside the door so it is very convenient for public transportation.

This is good hotel for students. Not for ordinary guests. But if you have child which lives here then you may will close your eyes to the hotel conditions. For a short stay you can choose this hotel also but be ready: false fire alarms will make you life terrible :(

Great Room with Kitchen

I stayed in a great room with a kitchen and bathroom. The hotel is in a funky part of town just a stone's through away from Erasmus Uni, metro station and a pretty canal. I found the staff were really helpful and I could print out documents, do laundry and get cookware for the kitchen really easily. WiFi in the rooms was really reliable. Its all pretty new and has a great study area, resteraunt and bar. Rooms are insulated so quiet. I had a great stay.

- shower is terrible, no handset, very and very slow flushing
- restaurant guy is serving your dish by dirty hands, no gloves and
hard to find something tasty in the restaurant.
- quite often you are waking up at night because of false fire alarm (someone is cooking in a room)

Hotel had store which accepted major credit cards. Holland does not except discover or american express and they don't except most cards without a chip. However student hotel did 😊. Staff was friendly and environment was comfortable clean and very appealing to the eye. I would definitely stay there again. Maybe even spending more money for a advance suite

Awesome!

This place is great! Very comfortable for a weary young(ish) traveler! I had booked three nights at another place more in city center, but after one highly unpleasant night, I left. I booked this place, and was greeted not only by a friendly and helpful staff, but by a clean and new hotel with people my age abound! More of a longer stay place, but I really liked it and will go back the next time I am in Rotterdam! Thanks guys!

Unique and fun design and decor. However. He standard rooms are lacking in modern luxury. The shower was entirely uncomfortable as the shower head was not movable and sprayed far outside the designated area. Also the shades were not black out. This wasn't s huge issue for me but I know it can be for anyone who is a light sleeper

It is a bit of a maze to get up to the rooms. You have to go through a few community rooms to a hallway with an inconspicuous door that has a small elevator behind it. Just an annoying inconvenience when rolling luggage.

The hotel breakfast was sub par at best. I'd just spend the money elsewhere.

Great Hotel - Value for Money - Great Location

For the price you pay, this is a great place to study. Stayed here for 1 night about 2 weeks ago - before heading for eastern Europe. As I was going to be around Rotterdam for a week this time, I decided to book here - very satisfised with the earlier stay. There is a Subway store just round the corner and a small convenience store just across the road. Besides, trams 21 & 24 which stop just outside the hotel are very frequent and takes you to Blaak in about 10 mins - supposed to take all the way to Rotterdam Centraal but they were having some roadworks at the Centraal. Pity they were full house on the 2nd Apr.

There was a microwave oven and a fridge. However, there were no cutleries but upon request at the front desk, they were most willing to oblige.

If there is one thing that I feel can be better - no safe deposit box in the room and in the front office.

Excellent Value for money. Stayed a nite here - very courteous staff. They have limited housekeeping - changing the linens once in 2 days but no big deal. Many students working quietly away in the various study spaces at the ground floor - remind one of the time you stay in campus. Very vibrant. Will stay again. Convenient location, not central but with regular trams to CENTRAAL & BLAAK - not an issue.

This is a funky and welcoming hotel with a real vibrance and vitality. However, there is no cash facility in either the check in desk or the restaurant, and there are no tea and coffee facilities. Also, there is no room service day to day, so fresh towels and additional toilet paper etc are all extra's. Other than that the rooms are large and bright and well furnished. I had the use of a modern galley kitchen in what was essentially a studio apartment instead of a hotel room. Overall great hotel and it is clean.

Fun hotel, very cool environment

We were only there for two nights, the room was clean and was of decent size. The hotel is mainly for students that stay for longer periods, but very nicely designed. The resturant has a very short but good menu. Well located, and very good price.
