The location is fantastic and the staff are very kind and helpful!
We had a private room so we didn’t feel unsafe. However the condition of the hostel and the cleanliness of the room could be vastly improved.

This place exceeded my expectations. Super clean, well appointed. Shame it didn't have a kitchen but the room was v modern and spacious. I was with my family (2 kids). The room next door were smoking weed and it was coming through. I told reception, they sent security up and the problem was solved. Staff were great - I really have few complaints.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hostel hotel-which I have to admit didn’t realize it was a hostel. We had a private room with a bathroom and it was very clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly and location was perfect

The room was tidy and had all basic necessities in place. The breakfast spread was also very nice, and had good variety. The community kitchen however, was not in the best of shape, with some amenities straight up not working. Really appropriate the luggage storage facilities provided, as we reached early and needed to drop our luggage for a few hours before we could check in. Staff was very helpful, thought being a hostel, they maybe not be available allt all times like a hotel, which is perfectly acceptable. The location is easily accessible from both Rotterdam centraal and Trams, though the area by itself doesn't have much to see or explore.

Not fancy but a nice play tonstay for a night. They have a bar where you can purchase drinks or food for a very cheap price. Ask for the pooltable. It is in a hidden room. I would go to this place again if I need a 1 night stay in Rotterdam. It is like 10-15 minute walking from the train station

Very close to centraal station (about 8 minute walk), plus a major tram line stop directly outside the hotel. Staff is great. There was a small (solvable) issue in my room and the staff fixed it within 10 minutes. Very much a no-frills European hotel room, but it’s clean and safe (security guard on site in the evening)

Room were clean and bunks were decent however unfortunately my charging socket in the bunk did not work. There was also only one tray under each bunk rather than 2 if you wanted to look your valuables away. Dorms had an en-suite shower and toilet which was clean and modern.
They had luggage storage, WiFi was reasonable and they had a nice bar area at the front. It also has parking which a lot of hostels don’t have.
Hostel is situated about an 5minute walk from the central station. It is about 10-15minute walk into the centre and another 10-15walk to the waterfront.
Overall this is a good modern hostel.

A budget option in an emergency situation where prices in town went through the roof and basically just wanted a bed for a few hours - this place was brilliant and exceeded my not high expectations - brilliant budget option.

The staff were really friendly. Area is great, just 9 mins walk to Rotterdam Centraal. Tram station is near 1 min maybe. Rooms are clean, but u cant expect luxus. Its a hostel and very cheap. But gud for the price. Only negative there are so many people, if they are drunk its loud outside ur room. Otherwise it was gud.

Fine, basic, but not very clean

Staff were friendly, guests were respectful and the room was relatively comfortable, although hot, however... Check-in took ages, there were no lockers, the floor was covered in dust, there was a pair of dirty socks in my bed so I'm not sure it even got cleaned between the previous person leaving and me arriving as they give you bedding to make your own, the bathroom was not clean, and the pillow was virtually non existent.
It's cheap and close to the station but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're part of a group that has the whole room to yourselves and stay more than a night so you can schedule a room clean.

Room were not clean, there was sand on the 3 beds. Floor in the bedroom was full of all sorts of stuff and bedsheets had stains of unknown origin on them. Aircon didn't work and no one came to have a look at it once it was reported at the reception

Near Rotterdam Centraal, you can walk and tram everywhere. There was no AC and no air circulation what so ever. The windows barely open. It was 30 degrees celcius in the room. Otherwise, the bedding and pillows were good for a hostel.

What I did not like about my stay at A&O Rotterdam City was that the lock for the bathroom has a gap meaning anyone could be watched whilst showering and/or using the toilet. This is a breach of privacy. Secondly, I feel the room could've been kept better care of, it attracted bugs and I have received multiple bites because of it. Something extra I want to add is that the elevator to the 2nd and 3rd floors, inside the elevator sometimes the button can take a few presses to flash and take someone to the floor number they chose. This can cause some anxiety especially since the same applies to the button that opens the doors too. This hostel is very convenient, but I feel it does need to improve. I would probably come again if I visit Rotterdam again but things do need to change.

Really scruffy place. Stayed in A&O hostels before in Germany and we're pretty good. Noisy road outside room had to use ear plugs. My rule is I ask myself the question would I stay here again the answer is no.

I booked 2 rooms. They apologized and said the room was the same. As I walked away they noticed my brother and niece. I had to tell them I booked 2rooms. They looked it up and said that's ok. At least it was only 1 night. The room had 2 side by side beds and a set of bunk beds. I didn't know I booked a hostel since I had filtered hostels out of my search . A little loud at night, but that is expected.

We had a reservation for a double bed, a bunk bed with tv and we got a room with 3 bunkbeds without tv. The room was dirty (with fake eyelashes from the previous guest in the bathroom and chewing gum on the beds) We paid 200 euros for a night (4p).

A clean place.

A clean, tidy hostel. Super cheap room. My only complaint was that my roommates (in a shared room) all snored very loudly and came and went at all times of the night. I think some were Uber eats riders, so kept very unsociable hours. However, that’s not the fault of the hostel!

Single ply toilet role is brutal

When we arrived the lady on the desk was a little rude, as was a male member of staff during our stay. Luckily the young man with the moustache was AMAZING so I would always recommend talking with him if you have any questions! The rooms were spacious and had lots of light, with a large comfortable bed, the toilet paper was clearly a money saving choice as were the toiletries. They do let you store bags which was really appreciated as we left @5pm for the ferry!

Stayed in a City Suite room for 2 nights.Room was spacious with a very comfortable bed.Room faced the street at the front of the hotel, so there was some noise from passing trams but it didn't bother me, light sleepers should request a room away from the street.All staff I dealt with were kind, friendly and helpful.Location is great , with the tram stop (Line 25,stop Schiekade ) literally being directly outside the hotel, 2 stops from there to Rotterdam Centraal. I used the tram, then the train, to go to Schiphol airport with luggage,and it was easy .Breakfast was Euro 15 extra but I thought it was very good, with a large variety of hot and cold foods. There is a shortcut from the hotel to Centraal, ask the front desk for directions, it is only a 5 min walk, faster than following the tram line. Would definitely return to Hotel Rotterdam, it had everything I required.

Great Trip.

Stayed one night in Hotel Rotterdam while over for the Feyenoord v Rangers Europa League game. Very comfortable stay, everything went very well with check-in, our room, and check-out. Staff were patient and friendly, as the Hotel was pretty full with football fans, so the barmaids were busy throughout. Also impressed with the location, which was about 5 mins walk from Station Central, with Tram and Metro stops right outside.

I book the hotel from Thursday 10/17 to 10/24 because I knew that I would arrive the morning of Friday 10/18 and wanted to have the room available to rest. When I arrive at the hotel I was told that they had me as a NO SHOW so they rebook my room to someone else for the weekend ( even though the room was paid for 7 days) and they didn't any rooms available until Sunday afternoon. They left me hanging for the weekend with no room. When I asked to speak with the Management they said that they couldn't help me. That they were book for the weekend. They wouldn't reimburse me for the 2 night that I lost.
on Sunday when I was finally able to check and went into the room there was bugs crawling on the wall the bed had big indentation where the matters had collapse. the shower door wouldn't close proper.
They mark my reservation card for free breakfast in the morning for the inconvenience that I had gone thru. When I went down the next morning they told me that I didn't have free breakfast. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone.

The customer service was outstanding and its location was excellent. My single room was rather basic and small, so I cannot comment on others. For me, the breakfast was extra. I feel it should be inclusive. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.
