I’ve stayed at Marriott Rotterdam three times now and have always had wonderful experiences, which is why I chose the hotel again while celebrating a special occasion. Unfortunately, my first time trying in-room dining for breakfast didn’t match the high standard I’m used to.

I ordered breakfast on Saturday, November 15th, expecting a cozy and relaxed morning. After almost an hour of waiting with no update, I called the front desk and was told the order had been delivered to the wrong room. Because of this, the food arrived cold, and since the kitchen had already closed, reheating wasn’t possible.

Some items also weren’t what I expected. I ordered waffles thinking they’d be freshly made, but they turned out to be pre-made sugar waffles — something I could buy at a supermarket for a much lower price. Clearer descriptions on an in-room dining menu would have helped avoid this confusion.

Although I appreciated that the breakfast charge was removed, the experience continued to feel rushed. Less than an hour after finally receiving my (cold) breakfast, a staff member knocked on my door asking if I was finished because they needed the tray back due to having only a limited number available. After such a delay, this made the whole experience feel even more uncomfortable.

I want to emphasize that I truly love this hotel and the staff has always been kind and professional. This feedback comes from a place of honesty and respect.

Rude front desk staff felt like I was bothering them. This happened during check-in and when I had a couple of questions regarding the hotel during my stay and each time I asked a question I received a rude, short response. Poorly trained in my opinion.

All other service staff were excellent.

This is a very nice hotel, excellent location, with clean and comfortable rooms.

TV very poor, only a few channels. Guests want to use our TVapps, but the TV is old, you cannot connect you devices, neither your apps.

The service was top-notch. From every single greeting we got as we entered the lobby, to the eagerness to fulfill any request, to the large comfortable room… this was a great experience. Not the most comfortable stay.

The toilet paper and tissue was the roughest in any hotel we’ve stayed at in the world! So rough, we were afraid of hurting ourselves while wiping. Newspaper would be easier on your bum.

Also, no breakfast other than their $50 buffet. We don’t like that much food, a coffee and pastries cart would have been nice.

It’s a little tricky to describe this experience, but I’ll do my best. Upon arrival, we were placed in Room 106 on the first floor, which was quite noisy. Thankfully, we were later moved to a room on the 10th floor. However, we noticed that the previous guest had spilled water on the bedroom slippers (they were wet when we tried to use them,) and had “borrowed” the hairdryer. Despite these inconveniences, the housekeeping staff were exceptionally kind and went out of their way to assist us with every issue we encountered. Their warmth and helpfulness truly stood out.

Best location and easy to go anywhere since it’s across from the central station. Next to Chinatown and easy to get Chinese food too. Checked in in the early morning and the room was ready; very rare in Netherlands. The room is very nice but only one set of slippers and one bathrobe were provided. Bath salt was missing for one night. The executive lounge provided good service and average food and drinks. Wine glasses were only available to the first nine guests. Guests also need to clean their own table afterwards.

Not a five star experience, more like 3 star

Stayed here over Christmas and it was well below what I expected from a five star hotel. The only good thing was the location from the central station. It’s literally across the road when you exit from the front end. Check in wasn’t great, it felt like we were an inconvenience. And it took so long anytime we needed the front desk. The room on our first night was on the 2nd floor near the lifts. We were woken up at 3am but two howling women who must have had a good night out and were laughing hysterically for about 15 mins. We paid for an upgrade and got the 12th floor. Wasn’t any better. They need to sound proof the rooms. The amenities are poor quality. The breakfast wasn’t great. The hot food was luke warm and bland. The coffee was disgusting so we only ate there once. Not worth the price. The worst part was my partner got food poisoning from the room service curry on our 2nd night! It didn’t look good when it arrived and so he was sick for 3 days. we couldn’t book dinner in the hotel restaurant Millen, it was booked out. If you’re looking for luxury and good service, don’t stay here. It felt like a dated 3 star with old towels and linen. Very disappointed. Customer service needs improvement. Such a strange experience. Won’t stay here ever again.

Really useful location but I expected more from a Marriott. Room was large enough; the shower decent but what really irked me was the door locks.
Maybe people are just idiotic, absent-minded or plain inconsiderate but, at times, all you’d hear is the slamming on room doors. With heavy locks it made a real racket, so you’d be woken up late at night, and then again in the early morning.
You stay in an upmarket establishment, expecting a relaxed experience.

A little bit of Rotterdam

Enjoyable stay, excellent location with tram and rail facilities close by.
15minutrs to Cruise Terminal .
Good restaurants in the square within 10 minute walk through the plaza.
Great culture. And quiet city.
Just a few bicycles .

I had stay for two times in July. The second time the hotel charged me €8 for Wi-Fi that’s what I was told because I had press the button for express Wi-Fi. I was so disappointed with that. The hotel guest should have free Wi-Fi. The room should have free Wi-Fi .

Nice central location next to the train station. Lovely rooms, very modern and clean. Great gym for a Marriott hotel. Breakfast was very good as well and not crazy expensive like some hotels. Service was excellent TV wasn’t work and was repaired in no time.

The Rotterdam Marriot Hotel is right across the street from the Rotterdam Central train station. This is very convenient. The rooms are stylish, large and well appointed. The breakfast is excellent. The staff service is exceptional.

Hotel is an easy walk across the street from the main train station and city tram hub. Many restaurants nearby, as is a large grocery store. Friendly staff and nice bar serving food, as well as a restaurant. Room was fine, but dark- brighter lights needed. Concierge arranged a car to take us to ferry port, a bit of a ride. Main shopping street close as is City Hall.
