The room was nice albeit a little noisy from the main road. We were there for three nights and the room wasn’t cleaned during our stay even though we were out each day for sightseeing. We were also disappointed with the bar as it didn’t have much stock of spirit and no beer on tap - only bottled beer.

Upon our arrival, the Reception staff demonstrated professionalism by offering valuable recommendations for activities and sightseeing during our stay. Weekend breakfasts experienced high demand, occasionally leading to limited food availability; therefore, it is advisable to arrive early to ensure a full selection. The restaurant team, particularly Stefanos, exhibited exceptional diligence and consistently provided service with a positive attitude, readily accommodating any requests.

This was the highlight of our 4 day trip in Netherlands.
Had a great view from our room of the Erasmus bridge.
The service from the lady at reception (Tess) was excellent and made our experience special.
Can't wait to go and stay at the Haven Hotel again!

We I arrived at the hotel, They suggested an upgrade and I agreed. When I got to the room the bed had a footer. I’m 6’5” and that did not fit me. Had to return to the front desk to change my room. I asked for my original room back. They put me in another room with a sauna. I didn’t want a sauna and we did not use the sauna. When I was checking out they charged me for the room with the sauna. I requested a refund and they said it would have to be approved by a manager. They never got back to me. Poor customer service. Would not go back.

We weren't informed ahead of time that this property is in transition to becoming a Doubletree. The systems weren't working properly, so checking was delayed and manual. The room was fine, though no place to unpack clothes. Very noisy room even though were on the ninth floor. Restaurant was closed due to construction.

Fantastic location - Questionable cleanliness

While the location of this hotel was literally perfect, there was a lot left to be desired. In general the staff were mostly helpful at the reception desk, the bar staff & restaurant staff was not very attentive, to the point that some of the meat which was laid out for breakfast was actually mouldy (in photos).

The rooms were well sized & seemed fairly clean although the baths could do with a deep clean because they are stained yellow on the bottom. On my first night I found a silverfish bug on my pillow (photo) but since I didnt see any more I thought it a one off so I dealt with it and went to sleep. In the morning a load more had appeared in my toilet cubicle so I reported it. The receptionist said 'Its the Netherlands, we have bugs' ... that was a poor response... but anyway I was moved to another floor/room which did not have this problem.

Another negative point was the WiFi was horrendously useless / intermittant from the moment I arrived until the evening before I left. It was also impossible to call reception from the rooms because the phones depend on the WiFi to function... and of course the TVs would crash occasionally because of it too. As an international traveller having to depend on Internet connectivity this was really poor, and cell signal was extremely bad on 3rd floor.

I really should have read the previous reviews deeper. There seems to be a trend, and for a hotel of this supposed Hilton calibre I expected better. Just a big disappointment in the end.

Unhappy with this stay at Mainport. I reported a faulty light (could not switcth it off at night) in my room 3 timesand nothing was done prior to my leaving. This meant 2 very poor nights sleep. Also renovation work in going on on some floor with noisy drilling happening from 8 am.. Pity I usuall like this hotel having stayed many times, but something not going well with the staff there.

The breakfast was the same options everyday. While the continental breakfast had a good range, the English hot breakfast range was limited. The bar closed too early. However, transport was very good. Both tram and Metro stops at the hotel and only 5 mins away from Rotterdam Centrael.

Very nice property located close to city centre, water taxis, public transport and cruise port. Comfortable beds, clean with bathroom on steroids (waterfront room) with Sauna and jacuzzi bath. Little counter space however. Great views from waterfront room but higher floor recommended. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Staff pleasant. Price was reasonable.

The only criticism is that during our stay, the rooms were not cleaned properly. One of the day we had to call the staff to tell them to come clean the room although we had the sign “please clean” the whole day. However, the room were very clean at check-in.

I really loved the hotel and after seeing the photos and in real life they are exactly alike. The only thing I would say is not as good was the front desk. I came in at 10:30 AM and the lady literally said there is no rooms ready and that I would have to wait till 3 PM. She just didn’t even want me to give my information or anything. Usually hotels will just ask for our passports and then check our bookings first. But this one did not do that. It just seemed like she didn’t want to do any work in the morning. Overall that gave me a little unhappiness about booking three rooms for my friends to stay here. We also booked the ones with a sauna room inside each hotel room. It was a personalized one that you can sit in. That was nice though!

Need to install charging ports.

We liked the hotel overall but were inconvenienced because they have no ports for charging in the rooms. I carry a lot of european adapters with me but none would fit the outlets. They had no loaners but did have adapters for sale for 25 Euros. Otherwise the service was good and the restruarant had good food.

This remains a great hotel - well positioned and for those who enjoy industrial views, it is amazingly situated for the old port .. a bit like Bristol. People are always wary of hotel restaurants, but the bar and restaurant are serviced by an amazing crew and the quality of the food as always in Holland is exemplary .. thanks to the hard work of the often overlooked farmers!

The metro station is outside the hotel, which is very convenient if you are taking public transport and have heavy luggage. You can access the hotel as soon as you step out of the escalator.
The hotel is clean, and the staff were ok.
The pool was closed on the morning of 31st May 2024 around 0932, but there was no notice in the pool area. I tried to ring the receptionist, but the line was busy. I went back three times, hoping I could find a staff to talk to, but unfortunately, every time I went back to the pool area, no one was there. I informed the receptionist when I checked out, and she informed me that it was closed due to a high level of chlorine and that it was for our safety. The pool should be checked before 6 am and ready for the guest to use as it is open from 0600 to 2300 daily to avoid disappointment.

The pic on Expedia showed a round hot tub in the main part of the room. It was a bait and switch!! A rectangular tub is in the bathroom. The person at the check in desk said this happens a lot. Expedia is showing the wrong room for the price. The TV doesn't work either. They replaced the remote contol and it did not fix anything. Staff is very slow to respond to anything. Not much food offered for room service either. The duvet was waaay to heavy/hot for this time of year. No light bed covering options available in the room. Very disappointed.

Inadequate air conditioning

We only stayed one night as we were boarding a cruise ship the next morning. The hotel was clean and the room we had was well appointed with a sauna, TV in bathroom, etc. However, the air conditioning was inadequate and despite manipulation with the room control the room would not get reasonably cool. We did not sleep well in the room that night. I would not stay there again.

Lovely hotel

Beautiful hotel conveniently located right next to metro and trams. There is also a very good breakfast buffet. Make sure to say hello in the breakfast area to Giuseppe who’ll give you excellent restaurant advice. Our only complaint was that the television service was limited to a few Dutch channels.

Loved the stay and staff was great but the cleanliness of the room was lacking. I don’t believe the sheets were changed out before we had arrived, we kept finding blond hairs all over the bathroom and in the bed and neither of us are blond so we knew it was not us. And the cups on the minibar had obviously been used and not changed out either as they were stained with coffee. It was only for one night so we endured. We did let management know of our concerns on the way out hopefully this improves.

lovely clean spacious room with an amazing jacuzzi bath tub. made use of the spa facilites and then headed back up for a luxurious bubble bath for 2. heavenly!! Bed was comfortable and the buffet breakfast was great as they cook your eggs fresh - anyway you like them!! Pancakes are also heated up fresh! would definely stay here again

Very nice one night stay in this lovely hotel. Checked in early morning after cruise and front desk staff was very friendly and helpful in keeping luggage for us until room was ready at check-in time. We had the breakfast buffet which was very plentiful and varied and included a chef who made eggs cooked to order and pancakes or French toast too. Very good.
Location was perfect for exploring all the sights in Rotterdam.
Room was very clean and spacious on floor 7 facing the water.
Would definitely choose this hotel again.

Disappointing stay.

I have stayed at this hotel several times before and have had a good experience. However on this occasion I was quite disappointed. The pool was closed during the whole of our stay and the service in the restaurant was unbelievably slow. There was also a terrible smell of sewage/drains in the reception that I could also smell every now and again in my room. I’m visiting in a couple of weeks - hoping that this was just a one-off.

We paid for a sauna room..bathroom door broken which we could live with, however when we wanted to use the sauna..it was broken..staff really didn’t care, basically did it was our fault not using the facilities earlier in our stay..no apologies no empathy no offer of reduction..won’t be using again not because of hotel but because of its staff

Comfortable bed and pillows. Lovely clean room with everything we needed , iron, hairdryer fridge and tea making facilities. Our room had a sauna and hot tub which was just perfect after a long day sightseeing. Very quiet rooms so got a great sleep . Staff were super friendly and helpful especially Mr Riaz the lovely porter. Breakfast was great with lots of choice, the omelette station was perfect.

This hotel is walking distance to the cruise port. The trams stop outside the hotel, providing easy transportation to Rotterdam Centraal Station and other sites, like the Euromast. The staff on Reception speak English and are very helpful. The hotel serves a good buffet breakfast.

Please never trust Expedia. I’ve gone to them for years and decided they have finally let me down again. I need a disabled room. On the information side I always look for disabled room, which means being able to get into all the rooms, being able to brush my teeth at the sink, have a shower, being able to get onto a bed. I did get a email to say they did not have a wetroom but it was a walk-in shower. So I messaged back that should be fine can you make sure I have a shower chair.
Got to the room and it was huge. Gorgeous bathtub in the room. Which you can hear at 1am when the room above you has it on. The bed was high making it difficult. I couldn’t brush my teeth the normal way I had to brush them and spit into a cup. But there was a step to the bathroom area. Then it was near impossible to get into the toilet. I had to ask for a chair 3x. The shower had a small glass screen so I could not get in. I had to get as close as possible and push the chair close to me. Hold the small shower while husband passed me everything. On Mainpoints website it says in the accessible page they do not have disabled facilities or rooms. That falls on Expedia. I should have checked as Expedia are awful at getting facts straight. We was there 4 days, 3 nights for me to find another hotel was going to be annoying so I struggled but we managed. We stayed here 6 years ago. Either it didn’t seem that bad or we tolerated and I forgot. It’s was 1900 pounds.

3 night trip in May. Hotel is well located, right next to a metro stop and only a 10 minute walk into the centre of Rotterdam. Surrounding area is quiet but beautiful as it’s right on the water and the views of the busy docks are boss. Service was superb and our room ( waterfront view with a sauna) was excellent. Downstairs bar was well stocked and staffed. Fully recommend

Great location. Hotel is very pretentious. No menus available for the on site restaurant and bar. Room was set up for romantic getaways and not comfortable. Bed toppers kept sliding off. Only one chair. Bathroom has whirlpool but shower was cramped.
