I enjoyed my stay but I think it's more of a 3 star than 4 star hotel. I booked a king bed and found the room very narrow with the bed wedged up to the window and only accessible from one side - ok if youre a solo traveller but it's inconvenient as a couple. Generally the place felt clean- apart from the noodles someone had tipped down a sink in the ladies toilets. Breakfast was just ok - for expedia/hotel to say its popular with solo travellers & then for the hotel to only offer a breakfast rate for two people when booking, instead of one is not really on. I ended up paying the full price for breakfast when i checked in as there was no solo option ie. I paid double the rate if two had booked breakfast with their room. Staff were friendly and seemed happy to work there which is a good sign.

For my first time outside of the country, I can’t even begin to word how beautiful of a stay the citizenM was. The room, the amenities, the service, the coziness of the lobby, everything stood out so unforgettably.
First of all, 24/7 bar and kitchen. Id feel like having a fun night, go downstairs to grab a drink and some crispy chicken bites at 2am. The staff were so welcoming, kind and had great conversation, even so late in the night.
I found myself wanting to grab a drink and just enjoy the lights, architecture and decorations in the lobby. It was so calming and peaceful staring off into the old harbor.
Id go downstairs to journal or listen to music and I wish I did it more.

The location of the hotel is in a perfect spot. Rotterdam Blaak right across the street, making it easy and not so tiresome to navigate to the other stations to get around the city. Everything is relatively close to the hotel, again making it a perfect location.
To sum this up, 12/10 stay. Affordable, cozy, pretty luxury in my opinion.

This was our second CitizenM experience. It was nearly identical to our first stay in Boston. The customer service was excellent. The location is perfect. Facilities were good. We’d stay again. You have to not mind that the bathroom sink, toilet and shower is in the room and two people will be jumping over another to get out of bed.

CitizenM was a dream! The anesthetic is so colourful and warmly invitiing. The Ambassadors go out their way to assist you and help in any way. Their courtesy, respect and helpfulness was always genuine. The girls were very knowledgeable about shopping and where to eat in the area and made great recommendations that helped make my trip so wonderfully complete! I would stay in this hotel again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to everyone!

An amazing stay in an amazingly funky hotel. The room was a tad too small, but we chose to stay there. It is almost like a Japanese pod- hotel. The staff were superb and couldn’t have been more helpful. They couldn’t do enough and no demand/request was not satisfactorily executed.

Fresh off the train we checked in which was very fast. We went to our room immediately. What a great place. Very well organized for a smaller space. Plenty of room for two people's luggage. Very clean. Bathroom was nice and felt sanitized. The blackout shade on the window was amazing. They offer free filtered sparkling or still water in the bar/restaurant area. Just return the empty bottle and fill a new one. As much as you want. The bar area is nice and well kept. Staff were very friendly. Very walkable area. We felt safe the entire time we were there. Definitely recommend a stay here.

It’s a very high density small roomed modern, fully automated hotel. Bed touches 3 walls, shower and toilet are tightly crammed into the room. AC could not cool this room off.

The room was super cute and modern. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the view was very nice and the room was clean but very small, so just be prepared for that. There was no closet but rather a super large drawer under the bed, which was uncomfortable. They don't have free coffee in the lobby, which we missed. The location was great, right across from Rotterdam Blaak train station and the gorgeous Markthal, which has tons of dining options. The staff was very friendly. The A/C wasn't cool enough.

Staff were great and the hotel provides free chilled sparkling and filtered water in the bar which was useful. Hotel is right next to a train station and there is a food hall and plenty of other restaurants nearby. I would stay again in the area.

An interesting hotel which I really enjoyed. It’s marketed within an inch of its life but it’s all entertaining stuff. The rooms are pretty small so you need to go all in with the concept. It was perfect for a solo traveller. I’d almost worked out how to turn the lights on and off by the end. Breakfast was fine with most of the basics well covered. Great location, high standards, friendly staff, good value. Maybe not for you if you wanted flunkies and facilities at your beck and call. But I did rather like it!

We loved our 2-night stay here in early August 2024. The hotel design is simple and fun and our room was just right for a brief stay. We are seniors and we enjoyed how the iPads were used to control functions in the room. Staff were universally friendly and helpful and Shaira and Luigi deserve special thanks for their cheerful help and suggestions. We ate here for breakfast and one dinner and very much enjoyed it. The location is ideal for walking to many of the attractions - right beside the cube houses and a short walk from the Markthall. Nearby is also a surfing park, which was very entertaining to watch. We would highly recommend citizenM for both the overall concept, and execution - well-priced and good value for money. Oh, and by the way, Luigi makes a great mojito!
