Room was comfortable, if a little dark, even after getting a lightbulb for light over desk area.

The design of the hotel is beautiful. The receptionists and bartender were all kind. The hotel room itself was beautiful, clean with a wonderful view however, there was a night where we experienced the elevator not working, no one on site and had to force the doors open to be able to enter our rooms. The internet was also not working so we were scared we’d be locked out of our hotel. When we notified the staff the next day they gave us free breakfast for 2 days. Honestly, I would have appreciated that night refunded because I had never experienced something like this with a hotel before and questioned where we’d sleep that night had we not been able to open the door. On our last day, a particular lady working in the buffet was very rude and disrespectful to multiple people including myself.

Beautiful place, just had a terrible experience with the elevator and lady at the buffet. Besides that, everything was wonderful.

Elevator was broken so they offered free breakfast which I only used 1 of 3 mornings.

I was able to work comfortably from the hotel and the gym was decent with free weights.

I have never had such a poor experience at a hotel. When we arrived there was some kind of older adult rave happening inside and the entire entrance of the hotel was blocked off. We didn’t believe this was our hotel and spent some time totally confused on the sidewalk until realizing and having to walk through the party with all our luggage and drunk people waving us along. The front desk staff was rude and short and totally unapologetic for the seriously loud noise in the lobby that made it nearly impossible to hear him. When we finally got the keys to our room we were struck by the dirty stained carpet in the hallway and how hot and stuffy the room was. The icing on the cake was that there was no sheets on the bed. This place was unclean and lacked hospitality in every way and was a terrible first impression of Rotterdam. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here.

Great staff with a broken hotel on their hands.

Preface our review by fact that elevator not working . No chance of repair. Necessitating carrying heavy pieces of luggage up very steep and dangerous stairs. I am 84 and wife 72. We would have cancelled and sought another hotel.had we known. This after tranatlantic air travel and 7 hour time diff. Our first room had termites swarmingthereby needingto change to a higher floor. I can go on and on about air not working, no ability to call desk because staff was helping people with bags. Plugs foruUS folks needed adapter so phones not charged. Location a neighborhood at least with a grocery around corner.
Now kudos to valiant staff who were outstanding. Especially the following people: Collins, Vaselika and Sven.

This hotel is listed as a 4* hotel but it’s lacking basic toiletries. We had to buy tissue paper, conditioner and lotion at the store next door. The layout of the room is very inconvenient. Breakfast is was extra cost when we booked and it was very basic.

Quirky property with lovely big room ...but noisy at night.
Our stay was slightly by the the fact that the lift was out of order... My travel companion found the 60 steps every time we left or returned to our room, exhausting.
Staff were, on the whole, helpful.
This hotel is ideally located near to a metro station and within walking distance of key sites (the cube houses and market hall).
It was nice to have a coffee machine in the room .. but I was disappointed that decaf was not an option.
Breakfast was nice. A limited, but tasty, choice of hot options - the bread selection was lovely. It set us up well for each day.

Aircon wasn’t particularly effective but the huge windows opened so it wasn’t a major problem. Some minor maintenance is required (eg curtains detached from rail at the edge), but overall a good experience

Really enjoyed our stay. Fantastic Location- 5 mins from a tram stop & a tube station and only a 15 min walk to the Markthal (food court) and has a Lidl underneath the hotel. Great bars and restaurants nearby as well.
We stayed on the 1st floor - room was spacious with a great balcony and very clean. Breakfast was good value as well. Bar & restaurant looked great but restaurant was fully booked so never got to experience it. Great vibe to the hotel with great decor & will definitely revisit when next in your great city.

We like almost everything in this hotel. It's in a quiet neighborhood but not far from the center. A supermarket Lidl next to it is a plus for us. One small thing that we are not excited about is the elevator. It's not very big and it's slow. So be sure to leave enough time to check in/out.

Watch out for room cleaning expenses..must opt out

Loved this hotel, however I am still waiting to receive my invoice 🙄
Beware, you need to opt out of daily room cleaning…I think it was super expensive, but since they haven’t emailed me my invoice I have not idea.
I believe they also double charged me for my bar expenses one night, but once again they wouldn’t give and haven’t emailed my invoice. Everything else was fantastic.

Staff was super friendly. Room was quite nice. The water closest with the toilet was a touch small. Not a huge concern but it youre over 6 feet tall it might be uncomfortable. This hotel also had the best gym I've seen in any hotel Ive stayed at personally. The location was really good, you can get to most of the best bits of Rotterdam walking from here.

The hotel is next to a grocery store that has early deliveries. I also saw a mouse in the bar/lounge area. The restaurant and bar area is understaffed, there were only two servers working the restaurant and the lobby bar.

I visited Rotterdam for two nights with my family. The Slaak was a perfect choice for us; it was very convenient regarding location, room size and other services. My daughter had enough space to play around the room. The staff were accommodating and supportive. Breakfast was also good quality and variant, allowing the hotel guests to enjoy their favourite type of breakfast.

I loved the room. It’s was very clean and I am picky. I had room 214. It slept 3 people with a large balcony. We drank at the bar several times and that went perfect. The breakfast buffet is highly recommended. They have everything one could possibly want.

Mostly good - with friendly staff.
But not so good if you want somewhere where the Air-Con can actually cool the room - rather than just fight against the underfloor heating.
And the whole height windows curtains mean that either you can't see anything outside, or everyone else can everything inside - but nothing in between.

staying in the Slaak was not comfortable, the most annoying thing was that the hotel does not offer a parking. There is a parking next to it but the receptionest wrongly told me an overnight parking will cost me 25 euros while in reality I had to pay 40 Euros. There are better places to stay in Rotterdam, nothing special about it

Amazing hotel, great service and staff. We’ve asked to change our room after the 1st night as there is working going on in the building across the street and they’ve done that immediately. Really kind with kids during Easter period. Great breakfast and restaurant. Would definitely recommend.

Upon check-in the rooms weren't quite ready yet due to the staff being extremely busy however any issues were resolved quickly and efficiently.
The hotel is above a supermarket however we had no noise issues.

Our new favorite in Rotterdam

The Slaak is our new most favorite hotel in Rotterdam. We will certainly come again. The service by the front office staff and in the lobby bar was superb. We found a small issue when we entered the room but this was dealt with promptly and exceeded our expectations.

Very nice hotel, with a nice bar and restaurant. Staff is very helpful. Our only issue was a foul smell in bathroom originating from the shower drain. We complained about it and they immediately attempted to clean it out and offered us to switch rooms. I'd stay here again.

Notre séjour a bien été dans l’ensemble. Le hic, c’était la femme de ménage qui a frappé la porte de manière énervée il était 10:44. De plus, elle s’est permis de faire de mauvais commentaires en français. Nous comprenons car nous sommes français, elle ne le savait pas. C’était notre dernier jour de notre visite. Dans le mail que j’ai reçu de l’hôtel, il était convenu de quitter nos appartements à 13:00. Cela dit, nous sommes partis rapidement pour libérer la place. C’est dommage, dans l’ensemble, c’était bien. Merci pour l’accueil

Kamer was zeer ner maar meubilair is aan vervanging toe. Zetel is uitgezakt. Matras zakt volledig door.

Ontbijt kon beter verzorgd worden. Niet slecht maar spek, eieren en worst was bijna koud.
