Hotel Emma was much better than expected. Reception was extremely friendly, theres a range of teas and coffees available to anyone in the hotel too. The room was nice, clean and comfortable and the hotel is right by the route 4 and route 7 tram stop as well as the metro which makes getting round really easy.

Slight irritation that reception was unmanned for some 20 minutes and unable to pick up my bags to leave for the airport. A telephone number was left to call but had little charge left so was rather unhelpful to be put in the position of having to chase for someone by mobile or text.

The staff was very nice. The room I had was updated and very comfortable. I opted for their breakfast one morning for 10 euros and it was not bad. Eggs, bacon, bread, cereal, and some other items. If you like breakfast earlier in the morning it’s a good choice because very few things open early around the hotel. The hotel is in a very popular section of town and I would stay here again.

Location was perfect. Right in the heart of Rotterdam Centrum & it is very walkable everywhere. Hotel looked pretty dated, but rooms were more modern. Rooms and bathroom were clean. However, no amenities such as razors and toothbrushes, and they are chargeable at 2 EUR.

I booked Hotel Emma they were overbooked due to technical issue and placed me in a another hotel of my choice hence the whole experience was unpleasant and negative. I complaint and I was quoted policy procedures and that they had placed me in a better hotel which was not the case. They put their policy procedure before their customer. I have completely lost my faith I choose hotel Emma because of the reviews but reality was something else. All I got was a email apology instead of a genuine effort to rectify this situation offered a choice or a refund.

Hotel Emma is a well located and affordable hotel in Rotterdam. I found the staff to be helpful and very good to interact with. Nearby are nice restaurants and bars and it was an easy walk to conference venues and the more \"upmarket\" parts of town where the big hotels are.

Great central location. If you are traveling light easy walk from Central Train Station and very easy walk to museums and great restaurants. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was varied with very good choices and times available. If you are looking for a American style large lobby with restaurant experience this is not your hotel but if you want a clean, friendly centrally located hotel for an active adventure this is it. We would stay there again and we would recommend to friends

In a very good location and handy for walking everywhere. The room was great with good facilities and all the staff were very kind and helpful. It can be a bit noisy late at night as people leave nearby bars but then it's quiet and traffic noise isn't apparent.

Stayed here for one night. Check in was actually done beforehand by email, so there was no form filling. Staff were very helpful and friendly on arrival and throughout my brief stay. Room was clean, modern and comfortable. There was also a very nice, quiet terrace area on the top floor with good views over the city. Buffet breakfast in the morning was good. Not so soundproofed as they claim you can hear traffic / trams and the people next door also forgot to clean our room one day no real apology. Great choice at breakfast though and very close to shopping centre and railway.

A nice new hotel in the center of Rotterdam near to everything, bars, restaurants, cinema..etc. IThe room is spacious and clean.The lighting is perfect. There is a fridge in the room. The bathroom is a bit small but very clean and has all that you need including a shower box. The only disappointment for me was that there was no double bed but rather 2 small beds close to each other so you end up sleeping on a single bed. The other con that I could not understand and I don't like in the modern hotels is the absence of a proper wardrobe. There is only as space for a few hangers to hang your clothes. I find that strange as the space is more than enough to accommodate a proper wardrobe. But all in all the hotel is very comfortable and the reception staff is quite polite and helpful.

If I had had a larger room, my stay would have been wonderful. The single rooms are very small with inadequate lighting. They're dingy. They do, however, have a mini fridge. The hotel location is terrific. The free breakfast is very good. The staff is nice, however, housekeeping did throw away drinking cups and containers which I always take on my trips.

We stayed for a night on our way between Amsterdam and the Hook of Holland (heading to London UK) and couldn't have been better pleased. A ten minute walk from the central train station. Large, comfortable room, all the amenities, including robe and slippers, and a large bath tub! Room 16. The front desk clerk took very good care of us, recommended a restaurant for lunch that was so good we went back for supper. I highly recommend Hotel Emma.

Very surprised by this hotel, popular as it was full when we arrived. Excellent location. Staff was very friendly, polite and courteous. Although this is a small hotel and lacks certain facilities other hotels may have, it is definitely the best 3* hotel I have stayed in. Clean rooms and plenty of clean towels available to use. Continental breakfast included in the price at the hotel's dining area, definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Rotterdam for short trips.

No air-con!!
It was a pretty old but clean hotel - the lift door does not open automatically! The worst thing there is NO air-con inside the room!! Yes, you did not read it wrongly, there is NO air-con. You have to keep the windows open all day and night! Not to mention the dust from the main street, it was so noisy and hot at night that I could not sleep well during the stay (3 nights). Not recommended for those who cannot tolerate noisy and hot environment.

I was very disappointed and will not stay here again. The carpet alone was enough to turn me off...was in the worst condition I have ever seen. I expected a 3 star hotel and this didn't even qualify as a hotel let alone a 3 star. It has left a horrible impression and one I have yet to get over.

The hotel was really good. The self-service continental breakfast each morning came complete with a selection of meats and cheeses, fruits and cereals a choice of breads and juices. The staff deserve a mention as all were pleasant in their manner and willing to spend the time to give us their knowledge of the city. We would be very happy to stay again on any future visits to the city.

The hotel is in a very nice neighborhood and centrally located near shops, cafes, a metro station and tram lines. Short stay in my favourite Dutch city
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and chose it mainly for its location, near to a metro station and with shops nearby where I bought stuff I can't get in the UK. I lived and worked in Rotterdam, before I moved to the UK so I know and I love the city. My old office is on the Westblaak, so I also took the opportunity to visit my colleagues and friends. All in all a pleasant stay and I would book it again.

Very Poor Internet
First and foremost in my mind is the extremely poor WiFi internet we experienced. My business partner and I booked rooms here and needed to speak with other business colleagues with a conference call on Skype, but it was impossible for two nights. This was a business trip, the second of many more to come in Rotterdam, but as we could not conduct business from the hotel, we will not be staying here in the future. If the hotel does not have the infrastructure to support business, we will select another hotel. The rooms, location and breakfast were all ok, but if you can't conduct business from where you are staying, there's no point in a repeat visit. What would have been helpful was at least a network cable (RJ45) connection, but we did not see this.
