Terrible hotel. Not 4 stars or worth the price at all stay away! We booked a 3 person room and the duvets and pillows were dirty and unwashed, tables and kettle not clean at all we had to cover them with towels. Mentioned at reception and they said theyd change our room but instead came with extra bedding which was still dirty. The lady seemed like she didn’t want to help us so we didnt ask any further. We got a room at the end of the hall so a neighbour was playing loud music and smoking weed!! carpets dirty just was a horrible experience and i regret spending money here. shouldn’t be 4 stars at all worst hotel i have stayed at

We had a great stay at Novotel Schiedam! The hotel was clean, modern, and very comfortable. The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was spacious, quiet, and perfect for a relaxing night.

The location is convenient close to the highway, Rotterdam, and Vlaardingen, yet still peaceful and surrounded by greenery. Parking was easy, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt calm and well maintained.

Would definitely stay here again!

First of all novatel shoukd not take booking from expedia or any other 3rd party. They ask so many queations when i checked in. They gave 2 internet option neither of the connection has internet, it was 0.03 something speed. While i was checking in, receptionist told me that once in three day i can have my room cleaned. There was no toothpaste and toothbrush. Despite my asking, receptionist clearly denied electric adaptic 2 pin adaptor.. i have neen to many hotels and used to think that novotel is at par with other hotels. But they are not, they even charge fir car parking . Worst hotel

Expedia shows that this property have laundry. The hotel does not have a laundry facility but instead laundry is handled by a 3rd party, meaning the client have their clothes laundered for a fee instead of washing themselves

This was the easiest worst hotel room experience at Novotel. The bathtub drainage didn’t work plus the shower head broke into 2 while bathing and hurting my feet.

The furnishing of the room was also old (not to be confused with vintage).

I am not sure what Novotel is up to but this hotel was definitely not at par with other Novotels I have stayed in the past in different cities. Hope the management takes note. I am most likely not going to book anther stay with Novotel

Booked 3 nights. At check in we were asked to tick a box £25 for room bar. We declined but the mini bar fridge was empty in the room!
We were not told at check in that the don’t clean the room every day we have to request it at reception- so our bins were not cleaned, beds not changed nor towels.
The bedside light was broken.
The extractor fan did not work properly in the bathroom. When we mentioned it they were not bothered.
Service at the bar was slow - even though we were the only ones there.
Beds were not comfortable and I kept sliding off the edge.

be aware of hidden charges at hotels.com

The stay was comfortable but i would say no better than a travel lodge in the UK.
I am extremely dissapointed about the hidden charges bill that I was thrown at when I went to check in I feel I should have been informed that even though I had selected the breakfast option while booking I was not paying for it at that time and will have to pay at check in. this is a flaw in hotels.com to trap customers with cheaper upfront payment.

Hotel was dated and in poor condition, staff seemed unfriendly and disinterested in their job. Rooms were not cleaned during our stay and coffee mugs and pods were not replaced. Have stayed in many Novotel hotels before and this is by far the worst. Would not recommend.

The dark lady at reception wasn’t helpful and her responses were abrupt however all the other reception people were helpful especially the gentleman who was working over the weekend and the lady who was there this morning

We booked a double bed room with extra bed, you needed to open the sofa to become an extra bed by yourself.
After watching the TV, the remote wasn't work and can't turn off the TV, we went to reception and changed and other remote, but still not work. We called the reception at 11pm to report it, they said we come to get the third remote to try again, if the TV still not turn off, we needed to wait the maintenance on next day until 12nn and no room can change. We understand there was no room to change but it is terrible that the reception's response, how can we sleep with the TV on. Then we just call the receptionist to come and have a look.

After TV sorted out, we find that lots of mosquito in our room. We slept not well all night as the mosquito all around our ears and make you cannot sleep. It was totally a horrible experience.
We have a really good experience in NOVOTEL Eindhoven, maybe it is just the issue in Schiedam.

We had two short stays at the hotel in two different rooms. We have been here several times before before the pandemic, and the hotel used to be quite good. This time, both rooms had multiple maintenance problems. The first room had the stop of the bathroom sink missing, the in-room safe did not work, and one of the towel racks was broken. Although we asked them every day to fix these things, and they promised every day to do so, they never did (during a 5 day stay). The second room (second stay) had a broken lamp, and some problems with the shower, and drainage. The shower was fixed, but nothing else.

I have to clean my room by myself, take a hoover from the house keeper supervisor and hoover my room, you dear not put your leg on the floor, because if you do, your bed will be dirty, my bathrooms sink was Blocked, no house keeper could not do it, neither the supervisor but they say oh, we will fix it before you return in to the room, but it was not done, they expected us to leave with it, they says everybody is sick, the plumber, hotel manager, and the junior staffs, in the night, we went to the young man on duty at the reception, Mr Clinton, him alone on duty, he lift his job to our room and fix it, thats is the job we complained in the morning that nobody did until this young man fix it at night, what did you think? He suppose be the manager or the assistant manager of the hotel, because the assistant manager, the manager, and the room manager are all incompetent. So if you don't want to clean your own room, choose another hotel.

We book the hotel for a night only on our road trip. Booked 5 rooms for our group. Rooms were good size, clean, beds comfortable. In some of the rooms we found few insects but nothing to worry about or to hurt us. We were with 8 kids so dinner at the restaurant weren't an option as menu choices weren't suitable for them. The older kids enjoyed to play xbox at the lobby and the little ones spend a good time in the tiny kids indooor area. Outside area with the pool looks nice and spacious but due to weather and late hours we couldn't have use of it. Drinks at the bar a bit expensive. Breakfast was excellent! A lot of choices from continental and English breakfast, fresh juices, smoothies, yoggurts, fruits, lovely coffee, cereals, ect. I suggest to book rooms with breakfast as if you want to add it ad the hotel cost €25pp and we only paid around £10pp when booked with the room. Parking was good size and plenty of spaces at the day we visited.

One word of warning be careful with the showers the one in my room had a habit of either going to freezing or scalding when you adjusted the temperature and then settling down again.

Conveniently located hotel on the edge of Rotterdam with easy and fast access to Rotterdam by train and easy access to highways towards Delft or The Hague. Super super friendly and efficient service ( reception, bar and restaurant). Rooms are a bit small and in dire need of refreshing.

A very nice and family friendly hotel

The hotel is clean and have lots of outdoor space - a pool and a lovely garden. On the day we arrived it is only partially sunny so it's a bit cold to use the pool (I think it's not heated), but it's still nice to chill out in the garden. The room is spacious and clean, and like other Novotel hotels, the bed is always comfy. We slept well. Breakfast is very nice with a wide range of choices. My little one and us enjoyed our stay very much.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel grounds were clean (except for at the end of the day, around the pool...CUSTOMERS can be better at putting trash where it belongs). The reception was well organized and COVID measures were observed at the restaurant. Breakfast was good. The hotel is very family friendly, with a small playground next to the pool for little ones.

It was a pleasant stay overall, but somewhat stained by mouldy shower sides and shower head, which was replaced once we complained, so was the blocked sink fixed, but I would appreciate if housekeeping would deal with these issues prior to our arrival. Bed was very comfortable and room sufficiently stocked and functional apart from bathroom door which is a slide one, so does make a noise and does not provide enough privacy when using a toilet😷

Overall it was ok. The room was big enough and the bed was comfortable the bathroom was very clean and the breakfast was excellent but very expensive £20 per person! Receptionist was very friendly and there were a play area,Xbox and computer for children which my children loved it but there were some jelly in the hallway I thought it was for sell as there were some other stuff to sell too so when my small son asked for it I wanted to give him some but the lady came and she was extremely rude and said it’s not for everyone I said I know I will pay At the reception but she said it’s for the group I don’t know what she meant but I said ok so why you got so angry I didn’t know sorry and I put it back even though my son cried Then she said give him few this time in a rude way I said don’t worry I will buy him outside! After that I was so uncomfortable with the hotel as she could just said you can give him some this time but it’s for the group meeting or whatever so I would understand then

The restaurant was very slow, to the point that I abandoned my meal, also a very limited choice. The Television did not receive BBC1 or BBC world services or rather they did but only audio, also no CNN, curiously the Russian TV stations were all fully operable.

Perfect location going to Rotterdam, Den Haag and even Scheveningen or Aquapark Splash Hellevoetsluis. The hotel is actual 7 mins drive from the world's largest windmill.

Strongly recommend to stay in this hotel.

Having had a pleasant time last year, we came back this year ( last year it was 11 of us, this year we booked for about 20 people). Apparently the hotel was overbooked and luckily some of us were there earlier to check the rest in, as they were turning people away. Also they didn't have their kitchen staff, just an agency chef, so half the menu was unavailable, but in any case, they did not have a table for 9 of us for dinner, and we had to order pizzas from outside. And no gin at the bar! For the rest, it's clean and pleasant and breakfast was ok.

Good value for money but a bit far from town

The hotel is a bit out of the way, about a 30-minute tram ride from Central station. It is a basic hotel with basic amenities but the rooms are a good size an have all you need. There was no iron in the room but you an request one. When we arrive there was a group of men whose had someone in them already so that took a while to sort out. Both receptionists were helping them so we had to wait about 10 minutes to check in. Our Check in lasted 1 minute. Other than that, the staff were really nice and friendly, and the hotel has good walls between the rooms, as it was very quiet.
