The room, the breakfast, the location and the service were all excellent. My room did not have a balcony or a view of the mountain, but I have seen plenty of mountains. Besides, if I wanted to look at the mountain, one of the best viewpoints was only a short walk away at Kirchbrucke.

Hotel service overall was amazing and they will pick you up from train station in their shuttle. This was one of favourite hotel in Switzerland. Very cozy, clean and comfortable stay. The bedding was so comfortable. The room was spacious. Check in was a breeze, took only 2 min. All the staffs were very friendly, accomodating and helpful. Breakfast had a wide variety of food ranging from different varieties of bread and spreads, cheeses, eggs to plenty of choices for beverages. The hotel also provides free transport to and from the station. Our room had a slight view of the matterhorn from the balcony. It’s about 10 to 15 min easy walk to the city centre. Overall excellent place to stay. Highly recommend.

More than expected!

From the pickup at the train station until we were taken back to the train station 3 days later, everything was excellent. The hotel is conveniently located and clean. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful. Very nice full breakfast and we had dinner there two nights as well. Also very good. Highly recommend!

A true rarity—Hotel Jägerhof is hands down the best hotel we have ever stayed in. From the second we stepped inside, we knew we had booked the right place.

The hotel offers so many thoughtful touches: a delicious buffet breakfast, complimentary transport to and from the train station, and warm, friendly staff who made us feel welcome from the start. Our room was on the first floor and had lovely mountain views (not the Matterhorn, but still stunning). The balcony was shared, but it never felt intrusive thanks to a partial privacy shield, and it was the perfect spot to enjoy the scenery.

What made the location extra special was its setting just off the busier streets of Zermatt. This turned out to be a huge advantage—everything was still walkable, but it was a little quieter. During our stay there was a meteor shower, and because it was slightly darker than the town center, we had the incredible experience of watching meteors streak across the mountains from right outside our hotel. Truly unforgettable.

The bathroom was spacious, with the added luxury of a towel heater. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained—not outdated at all—and carries a charming ski lodge character. There’s also an outdoor patio seating area if you want more space than your balcony offers.

Overall, Hotel Jägerhof combines comfort, charm, and location in a way that feels exceptional. We can’t recommend it enough and would return in a heartbeat.

Well-located, walkable, and near the Zermatt train station. They provide free pick-up and drop-off services, which is wonderful.
The room is well-maintained and spotless. Their breakfast options are excellent.
Their staff is incredibly helpful and courteous. I got there somewhat early. They gladly finished the check-in procedure.

They are always willing to help with navigation, village maps, etc. Around Zermatt, there are several trails to follow.

We really liked this hotel. It was very convenient for getting to the town ski shuttle, and it was also easy to walk to the main places in town. The staff was extremely friendly, and tried to be helpful in any possible way they could. It was a very comfortable hotel - we thought they could have made the hot water, hot coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate available 24/7 as a few other hotels we've stayed at had done. Personnel was most helpful. Rooms were very clean and well-kept. Location worked out very well for us. There were some concerns in our group about what constituted a \"room with a view\" of the Matterhorn.....? of the city? of the neighborhood? That could be clarified in the hotel site. Breakfast included was fabulous! Great way to start the day!

Fairy Tale Trip

This was the most perfect place for me and my husband to stay in Zermatt. Centrally located close to everything we wanted / needed. Hotel staff was so kind, helpful and courteous. Breakfast was delicious and keep us full long into the afternoon. We would not change 1 single thing about Hotel Jagerhof. I am typically ready to go home after a week, but I was literally sad to leave this place. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for making our 1st trip to Zermatt a literal fairytale.
