We were exceptionally happy with our stay at Hotel Daniela. The room was a clean and comfortable blend of new renovation/modern amenities and Swiss charm. The spa was beautiful and well-appointed. Phenomenal breakfast with friendly servers. Great location that is a short walk to the city center and train station (though transit is provided by the hotel). Overall it was a great stay and we would stay here again on our next trip to Zermatt.

We had a view of the Matterhorn from our two balconies! Very cozy chalet feel and the breakfast was great with amazing service and very friendly staff! It was close to the train and even had hotel shuttle to and from that was fast and efficient . Spa is for 18 yrs and up but this was not indicated on the Expedia site so they allows my 8 and 11 yr old in and nobody said a word . The hot tub area in not large but was cozy! Overall amazing! I’m

This place was fantastic! They really know how to run a hotel. Not one need was unaccounted for, from the little touches in the room to the exceptional breakfast buffet. My American family has been traveling across Europe for several weeks now and Daniela tops our hotel experience. Most of the hotels nickel and dime you for every little thing, but this hotel provided exactly what you needed without viewing it as a method to add to your bill. It felt like they really wanted you to be happy and comfortable. We needed that after so many days on the rails. I recommend highly.

This property is part of a small local hotel chain, the family has an incredible story being local to the area from before 1918. While at the hotel, we experienced a village wide blackout and were snowed in. The staff worked quickly to adjust our accommodations and move us to one of their other hotels with emergency power. You can often find members of the family around the different hotels jumping into action to assist staff and make sure all guest are taken care of.

During the power outage, the staff showed true hospitality doing everything they could to make our stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible

Best hotel in Zermatt

Most wonderful stay at Hotel Daniela!!! All fscilities were over and above what is usually seen. From included morning breakfast to all day snacks to a backpack free of charge to use during your activities the hotel thought of it all!! The spa facility is fantastic and the staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. The attention to details is what would be expected from a 5 star plus establishment but is rarely seen. Hotel Daniela did not fail to exceed expectations and I would not stay anywhere else in Zermatt!

Amazing hotel. Breakfast is delicious. Bed is comfortable, with different pillow options for you to choose. Spa is a highlight. They provide snacks & fruits throughout the day which is a very nice thing. Location is great too, just a few minutes walk to the bus stop.

My wife and I chose this place and couldn't have been happier with our selection. The staff (Julekha, Alena, Silvana) were all incredible and super friendly. They were all so genuinely happy and welcoming. These guys made the stay even better and will certainly come back and stay here at hotel Daniela on our next visit. The room was super spacious with a large and clean bathroom with heated tile floors. The ski lockers were great and the breakfast has been by far one of my favorites.

Great place, great people and great location

The place was beautiful and comfortable. We were greeted warmly by the front desk when checking in, their breakfast has many choices from fresh fruits to ham and cheese, they even has overnight oats and local made yogurt! The location of the hotel is also not far from the skiing location. We can even see a peek of Matterhorn from our room balcony.

The warmest welcome, the most beautiful balcony view, and helpful staff. After arriving on a whim and with no plans, we ended up taking the perfect advice from Julika. Train to Gronergrat, hiking, dinner at the Julen ( the best arugula soup!), finding the herd of sheep, and exploring town.
Easily located, abundant breakfast options, cozy lobby, smart business branding, comfortable rooms, and a family story of grit and excellence. A stay to be remembered! Thank you!

This hotel is by far our favorite, the hotel clerk was amazing too talk to and gave us a bunch of information to go into zermatt and have fun! The spa and steam room and sauna are the best I have ever seen anywhere in the world. What a hidden and golden place this is. Breakfast is home style where you can tell they make it all from scratch and it’s like your momma made it at home, if she was really good at cooking anyway. 10/10 recommend to anyone traveling here to book this hotel.

Great place for a quick stay to see Zermattt. Hotel us in excellent condition and well maintained property. Check in could have been better. If you don’t fill in the email behore then you have to do it online on a screen when you arrive. Someone ahead of us had not filled it ou, and neither did we do waiting for the guest ahead then for us to fill it out was a delay. Having a few screens available for use would speed this up.

The nice lady at breakfast is wonderful and cheery. Breakfast is very good. Homey experience.

The walk to the train station is about 10-15 min. In an area away from most businesses, close enough to walk to. The Mountain View is great of the Matterhorn.

Holy Cow!!! What a find! Really, I can't say enough good things about the hotel, the staff, and our stay.
The room was excellent, beautifully equipped, and every want taken care of. Our mini fridge was stocked daily with soft drinks, water, and a couple of beers. Coffee in the room was excellent. The decor was contemporary mountain and beautiful. Helpfulness of the staff was unbelievable! I would have lost patience with me- but they were kind and knowledgeable. Breakfast was crazy!! Yummmmmm Yummmmmm Yummmm. Never have I ever had so much goodness at a hotel. The spa was like something out of a movie. We even rested in a hay bed. Sounds weird but I loved it. Cannot say enough good things about our stay. We will be talking about this for the rest of our lives. Really- that good!

Stunning hotel, even better staff!

I cannot explain how incredible the staff at the Daniela are. Not only do they run a stunningly beautiful hotel, they themselves are incredibly friendly and knowledgable.

Thanks to their advice, my family and I changed our plans in Zermatt slightly and we were able to enjoy experiences that we would have missed otherwise.

The rooms, cleanliness, location, etc are more than enough for this hotel to constantly get a 4+* rating, but the staff still go ahead and make it special.

Finally, the custom scent throughout the hotel and it's toiletries is so good we ended up buying their fragrance for home!

Already planning a trip back in winter. Thank you everyone at the Daniela!

Enjoyable hotel in the Swiss Alps

The staff is very friendly and helpful They have a very nice breakfast bar. There are free drinks and chocolates in your room. I rented my electric mtn bike right at the hotel. The swimming pool, spa, and gym is down the block at their sister hotel. A group of Alpine horn players were playing out my window one night which made it a special memory.

Boutique style so feels unique and luxury - standard of everything is excellent.
Downstairs area is very welcoming and has a fireplace and lots of seating to relax in.

Magical stay in Zermatt

This is exactly the standard that other accommodations should look to in achieving a welcoming, cozy, clean, modern, luxurious- yet affordable- hotel. We were not ready to leave. The breakfast offering was beyond generous... With cereal, fresh fruits, yogurt, meats, cheese, pastries, jams, juice, coffee, and more.the room was spacious, had a beautiful balcony, was pristine condition. We felt like royalty and didn't want to leave!

Exceeded our Expectations

Too bad we only had time to stay one night. The hotel was within walking distance to all town sites, train station, and lifts.
Our room was on the 2nd floor, was very clean, and had a great balcony. Although it didn't have the best views of the mountains, by the time we were at the hotel it was dark, we had spent all day hiking, and enjoyed sitting on our private balcony in the cool mountain air.
The breakfast buffet had everything you could ask for, including oranges you could squeeze yourself and complementary prosecco for mimosas.
The only negative was not the hotel's issue at all. A malcontent 65 year old baby decided to complain at breakfast that the bacon was not cooked to his liking and the pancakes were not right off the griddle. He showed up at 10:20...10 minutes before they shut down the buffet. He continued to loudly complain, berate the staff, and threaten the management loudly over the phone. At that point after the staff and the customers heard this obnoxious human complain without warrant I felt obligated to speak up and let him know that the staff didn't deserve to be treated like that and told him exactly how he was acting. I was ashamed he was American. Some people can't be fixed...although some should be. ;) I hope the hotel didn't give him one franc back.
Other than the 65 year old baby, everything exceeded our expectations.

Amazing hotel. Super welcoming staff, superbly clean, and beautiful modern but cozy decor, so unique! I just LOVED this hotel!! Every aspect of this hotel is wonderful including their delicious breakfast (complete with adorable tea pots and honey from a real honeycomb!). I travel quite a bit and this is really one of the top hotels in my book. No attention to detail is lost at this hotel. I really loved the room (with balcony) - everything looks very new and the shower was amazing- thank you for having a stand alone shower available and not a tub/shower combo. I wish i stayed more nights @ this adorable hotel, so enjoyable and have such wonderful memories of Zermatt -- thank you Hotel Daniela!!

What a totally amazing and unexpected experience at Hotel Daniela! My husband and I are in the middle of a two week trip exploring Switzerland using the Swiss travel pass. Because of unexpected change of plans we booked this hotel in Zermatt. The wonderful welcoming environment, the large comfortable double room included a sofa and balcony with view, the exceptionally beautiful spa / sauna, the artistic touches of decor, the many extra benefits (mini-bar included in price, free transportation to the train station, terrific selection of items of both cold and warm items at the included buffet breakfast) was totally amazing. This may be the best hotel during our trip not only for the luxury, but for the fantastic value!

We loved this hotel! Everyone was superb! The updated hotel and room are beautiful! Our view from our room balcony was of the Matterhorn and was breathtaking! The breakfast and extra treats in our room and the lobby were beyond expectations. We would come back in a heartbeat!

Beautiful hotel in a great location. The staff went above and beyond for us. We had to leave for the train station right when they started serving breakfast. The staff offered us coffee to go as well as pastries. Would definitely stay there again.

I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are clean and modern. Comfy beds and beautiful views. The daily breakfast has a great variety of quality food. All staff are very welcoming and helpful. The dinners at the sister hotels are also wonderful.

Lovely hotel in a central quiet street

The hotel is in a very good location just out of the town centre, about 10-15 mins walk from the main station & GornerGratBahn so if you see the Matterhorn is clear you can hop on and be up in the mountains in no time. The room was spotless and absolutely lovely, newly decorated in a fun modern take on local traditional design, with lots of extra touches & attention to detail. Lovely bathroom with bath & shower. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet was good quality. Overall, a great quality place to stay in beautiful Zermatt.

Wonderful hotel in a perfect setting!

We loved our stay at Hotel Daniela! Our balcony had a view of the Matterhorn and our room was extremely comfortable for the three of us. The staff (Lina and Claudia, especially) were extremely knowledgeable and courteous during our entire stay. The breakfast staff and choices were excellent. The Daniela felt like our home away from home for the week we spent there. Our ski trip of a lifetime was only that much better because of our hotel. We can’t recommend the Hotel Daniela enough. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Comfortable & welcoming - a great experience

3 nights in the off-season. We were made to feel very welcome from the start and got some great information on which slopes may be open, activities and the general area. They have recently refurbished the rooms and we found ours to be relaxing and comfortable - just what you want. Location is good being at the side of town nearer the ski lifts.
