We had a wonderful stay at the Mont Rosa Hotel in Zermatt. The staff were exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish.

Staff very courteous and breakfast was quite good.
Amenities (bathroom): should be refilled when empty or nearly empty (hand soap, vanity fair, tissues).
Main comment would be on the smell of food in the hotel, especially during breakfast time. Our room was on the 4th floor and the smell was arriving until our room, in the elevator.. and we ended up with clothes smelling food very strongly.

An excellent hotel! They called us in advance to offer a complimentary pickup from the train station and they arranged a drop off too! The staff are super friendly and helpful. We booked two rooms for a one night stay to be on the Glacier Express in the morning. The breakfast is remarkable! Will definitely come back to stay there again!

Absolutely perfect in every sense! The staff at the hotel go above and beyond to make you stay an exceptional experience! Breakfast was amazing! I will tip my hat to the staff for finding an alternative means to getting us to the train station with three large suitcases and carrying on bags,as the main road where the electric shuttles ran were closed due to the scheduled marathon event.

The moutain view is actually a view over other buildings and rubbish bins so a waste of money. The spa they advertise is actually at their sister hotel to which you have to walk to - not ideal. The breakfast is very basic. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and most of the staff (with some exeptions unfortunately) is nice. Ski lifts are actually about 10 min walk away. Overall not impressed and would not stay here again.

Great service, extremely friendly staff. Rooms a bit dark and drab, and could use a renovation. Heating can’t be controlled individually from each room and the hotel tends to be very warm . We tried opening windows at night but the area around hotel is quite noisy so this doesn’t work. Also the hotels ski locker room is way too small, crowded and uncomfortable. This needs work. Breakfast is included and was plentiful and great quality ingredients. Staff go out of their way to make you happy and meet your every need.

We love this hotel so so much! The staff are super nice and helpful. We had issues with our snowboard gears that we had to ship from the US and they were so responsive to all my emails and were very helpful. We are so grateful to them especially Iliana and Sarah. They truly provide the best service. Very friendly and accommodating. The hotel itself is old but I wouldn’t say outdated at all. It has character. We wouldn't have it any other way. We had the view of the Matterhorn from our balcony which was awesome! The location is within walking distance to everything. The breakfast, especially the salmon benedicts that we ate for 4 days straight, were so good. We loved the friendly staff and service during breakfast as well. We loved the access to the pool and spa of the sister hotel as well. So highly recommend this hotel and will go back.

We actualy were move over to Mont Cervin Palace (Sister property). Wonderful experience. Staff exceptional in every way. Helpfull and friendly. Property: wonderful. Great breakfast and breakfast staff. Pool was very nice. We were primarily hiking in the area so it was nice to have a pool available at the end of a long day in the mountains. Location: centre of the town. Everything is walkable. Loads of pubs and restaurants within a couple of minutes. I recommend and would stay here again.

We reserved a room in March of 2024 for September. One week before our arrival we got an email saying our reservation was cancelled. No explanation. We were told we could reserve a room at one of their sister hotels. After three separate calls through Expedia, who called the hotel we chose, we were told we would receive email confirmation of the new room. We never received email confirmation. We arrived at the hotel with our supposed new room only to find we didn’t have a reservation. Thankfully, their sister hotel had a room available and figured things out for us. They were extremely accommodating and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It’s hard to rate Monte Rosa accurately as we our only interaction was a cancelled reservation. As it turns out, their entire hotel was closed, but again, we have not explanation as to why. We would definitely go back their five star palace sister hotel again though.

Important to note that there is no driving in Zermatt so parking is in the adjacent town where you take the train in. Small vehicles will take you from the station to the hotel and everything is highly walkable. The hotel is well centered in the city and the staff is amazing. It's the oldest hotel in the city and has a lot of neat history.

The location is walkable from Zermatt station. But the staff were the highlight of this hotel. They were super nice and very helpful.and it’s not a single person but the entire staff from front desk to room service to restaurant staff.

Booked an edelweiss room, got ‘upgraded’ to a room with a view of the street and a lot of late night noise. The front desk clerk was extremely rude. The street noise is significant and not what I booked. Frankly, it was a really disappointing hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at Monte Rosa. The oldest hotel in town is still one of the best.
Very friendly and professional staff with great concierge. Helder at reception has great knowledge of Zermatt and recommended nice restaurants. Very helpful and friendly staff.
I got to speak my own language a lot as most of the staff speak Portuguese.
The rooms are classic style, with a large bathroom. One of the things that worries me in every hotel is the bedding, but here this is very very comfortable indeed. Like sleeping on a cloud, soft and cosy.
The bar has a lovely atmosphere and the restaurant next door offers good upmarket food.
I will return and definitely recommend.

Loved staying in this historical hotel of Zermatt. The hotel was beautiful, centrally located and the attention to detail was truly amazing. Our visit was carefree. Hotel taxi is included to and from train station. Get train app and take the train from Geneva airport - easy and always on time. We skied all areas but really enjoyed Matterhorn paradise skiing. Took e-bus, train, and funicular to ski different areas - crazy experience. Buy your ski pass at hotel - bought international pass. Be sure to arrange dinner reservations - restaurants are small but worth the effort of getting a reservation.

Great location, convenient pick up

Once we got to the train station in Zermatt, a representative from the hotel was there waiting to pick us up, which was very convenient. The hotel is very central to everything in Zermatt, and is super charming. I especially love the bed warmers they leave at the turndown service.

Wow! Unbelievable experience here. Everything was top notch and the staff were super friendly and helpful which is so comforting when your in a foreign country. 5 stars doesn’t really do them justice. It’s much higher than that.

Perfectly situated in Zermatt. Very clean and comfortable room with a great view. The non alcoholic drinks in the mini bar and breakfast buffet was excellent. Loved the electric car. Will definitely go back to Zermatt and stay at Monte Rosa.
