Excellent stay, staff were really friendly and the hotel is in great location for the train station and the free ski bus. Good continental breakfast selection with some hot food too. Free tea and cake each day from 16:00 for 90 minutes which is a nice touch after a day on the pistes. Room standard was excellent along with the ski equipment storage. Theres a nice Sauna / Steam room that’s free to use! For the star rating this hotel is excellent!

Overall good stay, with a friendly staff, and good quality food service. If your objective is a good quality hotel, without the finer amenities of a pool, elaborate spa, and workout facilities, this is a solid choice. The closest lift service is the Gornergrat railway, about a 3-5 minute walk from the ski storage room at the hotel. The bus stop is located next to this lift as well.

The Butterfly is a great place to stay. Conveniently located to the Zermatt Train station and the Gornergrate Railway as well. The staff are very attentive and informative about things to do in Zermatt. The Lounge is a fun place to hang out with live music which was a nice surprise. Would definitely recommend this property if you are heading to Zermatt.

The staff was excellent. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was special. The room was clean and very spacious with a great view of the mountains. The breakfast was amazing and the afternoon tea was just what we needed after a day out. Will definitely stay again. We highly recommend it. Oh and did I mention it's close to the train station and they offer pick up service.

The staff was extremely helpful. They gave great suggestions for our very brief visit. The only thing that was less than we wanted was the laundry facility which was very small and didn't dry fast enough. But the staff again was very accommodating to our needs, so this really isn't a complaint. It's just a comment.

Room is nice & clean. Bed is comfortable and the balcony is amazing. Close to the train station so it is very convenient. Also close to shopping & restaurants. Staffs are friendly and they even prepared a packed breakfast when we told them that we are checking out early. Overall great experience with Hotel Butterly and will definitely come back.

Lovely hotel right at the beginning of Zermat main avenue. Near the train station and walkable to all restaurants and stores. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. The rooms are vey spacious and clean with a spectacular view of the alps. Will definitely stay there agin.

Location was excellent. Breakfast spread was very good. Room was clean.
Strong sewage stink from our bathroom throughout our stay. Hotel staff tried with whatever resources they had. This was the most unpleasant experience during our stay. Housekeeping service was below standard. There were bits of garbage still after cleaning.

Excellent all round!!

This was an excellent experience in a 3* hotel.
Staff in every department from inital check in until leaving and everything in between was superb. Breakfast had a great variety of foods and the welcoming cake and coffee etc, was a lovely gesture. Thank you all. I will certainly be reccomehding the Butterfly 🦋 ❤️

I lived in sixth floor but the elevator only reached to fifth floor. We had to move our luggage via the staircase. The main door was extremely difficult to close from the outside. The room was clean but the space was not enough. Also, the room was a little cold and no a/c control even though we closed all the windows. The major issue was the wifi connection. The connection was very poor and unstable. The staff of the breakfast service was very great. The front desk staff was good. The location of the hotel is very great.

Really great stay for 3 nights. Downfall - a gentleman working the restaurant was generally rude, but worse; he had a cold and would wipe his nose with his hands then go to clean tables and handle cutlery. We witnessed this 2 mornings in a row and was disgusted my this employee.

I had a great stay during my spur-of-the-moment decision to visit Zermatt. The room was spacious, tidy, and clean and the bedding was VERY comfortable. Fantastic after a day of exploring. It would have been nice to have some tea/coffee/bottle opener facilities in the room though. It's conveniently located near the train station so that you don't have to rely on transport to get to/from the hotel but from what I could tell, you could organise transport with them if you need it. Thankfully, I was able to walk everywhere that I needed to. I can definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the train station, bus stop, and shopping center, making it incredibly convenient. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special—they even offered complimentary tee time in the afternoon. On our last day, as we traveled to Milan on an early train, they thoughtfully packed us a lunch to take with us. Truly outstanding service and hospitality!

Only downside was in the approach to the property that on the left hand side was either a very rundown hotel or an extended stay for meth addicts . There was old wood piled up and furniture piled in a garage like area. It was trashy and not something you want to walk by on your approach to a hotel you are staying at

We did get the room at the loft - since we were travelling light and only there for two nights this was ok but if we did have a case it may have been an issue as the stairs are narrow. Breakfast adequate and the afternoon complimentary tea/coffee/cake was a nice little perk.

It’s a great hotel, just off the Main Street so nice and quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were really hot every night and no air conditioning.

The breakfast was cold everyday we stayed, if it had hot plates they were not working. Varied choice available. Lift wasn’t working and we was on the 4th floor which wasn’t ideal.

Very convenient location as it is less than one block from the train station (no cars are allowed in Zermatt). Clean facilities and helpful guest services. Breakfast was great and free with a stay. Cheap beer at the bar which is unheard of in Switzerland. Balcony was nice but could be loud at times but overall Zermatt is a very quiet place.

Wonderful place to stay in Zermatt! It is a 3 minute easy walk from the train station, but off of the main road so it is quiet and peaceful. Views are great. Room very comfortable and complimentary breakfast and afternoon tea were both so nice! The only slight issue we had was that there was construction/remodeling going on during the day so we couldn't take an afternoon nap but we understand that they had to get the work done before ski season :) Lovely and helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Zermatt.

The Butterfly Hotel is a three-minute walk from the train station, which is what initially attracted me. I was so pleased to find an immaculately maintained property with the friendliest front staff you’ll ever find! Our room was comfortable and white-glove clean. The breakfast included in the room price was generous with much variety. Finally, the hotel was mere steps from Zermatt’s main thoroughfare. You cannot go wrong reserving accommodations here!
