Beautiful mountain view on our honeymoon. Bathroom had a problem but the staff switched us to the room next door no problem. Very friendly staff that were always happy to help and talk, with complimentary refreshments at the end of everyday and a delicious complementary breakfast every morning.

Hotel was amazing! Welcome drink on arrival so refreshing!!! Staff were excellent, the hotel was so nice and the location was great! Close to everything including a great view spot to see the Matterhorn. Made it so easy to get sunrise pics of the Matterhorn. Breakfast had cooked to order options. Absolutely incredible stay overall, 10/10. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, seemed to go out of their way to ensure all our needs were met and questions answered. The hotel itself is clean, beautiful with lovely amenities. The room itself was spacious and the Mountain View balcony had the most incredible view of the Matterhorn that left us speechless. They really do go out of their way to ensure everyone has a lovely stay. The hotel is right near a ski-rental shop if needed and is a quick bus ride to the base of the main Gondola which then gives you access to the majority of the skiing mountain, including down into Italy. Highly recommend staying here for anyone looking for a luxurious stay in Zermatt!

We had an incredible stay at the hotel. I've stayed at top hotels in the world and this boutique one compares in quality, service, attention to detail and amenities. The spa and gym area were beautiful (you should add photos to the site!). Service was impeccable, thank you to Simon who was so helpful. Easy to get to ski shuttle and walk to everything. Very clean and the breakfast and afternoon snacks were great. I'd stay here again if ever back in Zermatt.

The safe were very attentive and knowledgeable. The bathrooms can use updating as the high baths aren’t very safe. The lack of a restaurant is also unfortunate but its location makes up for it as you are close to everything. I would highly recommend this hotel and go back to it, in the future.

Centrally located in Zermatt, just a short distance to the train station, shops/restaurants, and all three lifts to ski.

This family-owned boutique hotel is luxurious and charming with careful attention to detail. They even recognized we had a birthday and surprised us with a cake! Wow!

You’ll be taking photos of the beautiful woodwork your whole trip, while also admiring the view off your balcony.

Friendly and welcoming Hotel with Alpin Chic

Overall a very friendly and clean Hotel! We were met at the Train Station and Shuttled to the Hotel. Greeted by friendly, very professional Staff and of course a Glas of Sparkling Cider. Unfortunately the room we booked was not available due to the Guests not being able to continue their travels. The Hotel handelt this problem very professionally and we were given another room with Valley Views. There is no Restaurant in this Hotel but the Staff were very helpful in finding something to our taste. Breakfast was a highlight, surrounded by Alpin Chic, a generous, well chosen and displayed Buffet, that met all our desires. Thanks to Lina who with her charming and professional touch made this experience unforgettable. We enjoyed our Stay at this Hotel and will be recommending it to our friends and family.

A brillian reception, with a warm welcome and two glasses of champagne we arrived. Straight away we were provided information about the area and where we could hike / cycle. The little touches throughout the week were lovely; from making the bed then unruffling just before night, or the excellent chocolates each day by the bedside table. The spa is relatively small but beautiful and all that is required.

One of my favorite hotels ever! Highly recommend!

Hotel Allalin is absolutely amazing! It’s family owned and you feel that from the moment you walk in. The staff are so attentive, the free breakfast is fantastic, and the views may be some of the best in the village. The room itself is full of hand carved wood and is so stunning, and is super comfy. The location is right near the main road of the city and is steps from everything you need. I highly highly recommend it!

charged to use the jacuzzi without notice

The hotel was nice but we were charged for something we weren't told before. We arrived and were told that they had a spa and that if we wanted to use the jacuzzi of the hotel, we should let them know in advance. The next day, we said we wanted to do it and they confirmed we could use it. To our surprise, when the bill arrived we had to pay CHF 40 to use the bathtub, and we told the reception that we were not informed about this (in the check in, nor by the person who booked it, nor anywhere in the room there was this info). She just shrugged and said \"it's a paid service\". We were really disappointed as we wouldn't use it for this price, specially when there were 4 saunas that were free.
Additionally, our train was late and we didn't make it to our dinner reservation on the day we arrived and even though I wrote an email explaining the situation, the receptionist made us feel really bad about it, even though it was not our fault.

This boutique hotel is located just off the Main Street donut is quiet and is an easy 5-10 walk from the train station. Or you can arrange a ride with their free shuttle. Check-in is unique and inviting where you sit in their lobby with a welcome drink and they come to you to walk you through the process. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. It is a boutique so he aware that the staff do leave at night and the hotel locked but you have full access still with your room key.

My husband and I just spent a lovely weekend in Zermatt. We loved the location and view from our balcony. The room was beautifully decorated and the bed was comfortable. I loved the extra little touches like the little chocolate squares we were given each night and the welcome drink. Our only complaint would be that the bathrooms are a bit dated and the shower was a bit low (especially for my 6'2\" husband!). Overall, we loved our stay and can't wait to come back!

If by luck you do have room 55, well you will have such a beautiful vue on the Matterhorn, otherwise this hotel is very nice, room are beautiful, the breakfast is lovely, at the reception they are friendly and professional, and the location is pretty cool, I can’t fault this place at all and ah yeah : the spa Center is cool too:)

Fantastic Hotel!

Wow! The Allalin has to be one of the best hotels and overall experiences I’ve ever had traveling. We were created with champagne, rooms were immaculate, and that VIEW! We had a fantastic view of the Matterhorn. Breakfast was delicious and included in the hotel also.

My only complaint was the hassle of getting to and from the train station via taxi. Because cars are not allowed in the city, we had to call and wait a while to get this figured out. A better warning and instructions of how to do this, where to park, etc would be helpful from either Hotels.com or the hotel itself.

This was hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, as well as welcoming and kind. The location was phenomenal. The amenities were outstanding (greeted with a glass of sparkling?? yes please!), fresh grape juice in the room, happy hour, delicious buffet brunch, afternoon refreshments - and more! The extra touches they made to make it a wonderful stay were very appreciated, including the chocolate Matterhorn. The room was clean, beautiful (the ceilings - enough said), and had a spectacular view of the Matterhorn (if you choose that view - well worth a few extra dollars). Very great price for everything that was included. If I ever return to Zermatt, this would be the place I'd stay!

We had the balcony room on the top floor where we could have a nice view of the Matterhorn as described. Room was spacious and clean. The lobby staff were friendly. Everything was great except the house keeping service. We put up the “do not disturb” sign all day but by the evening when we returned to the room, we found 2 fresh hand towels on our bed but nothing else had been tidied up nor cleaned up. Felt a bit weird.

Gorgeous hotel. Beautifully appointed and spacious rooms with a large new bathroom, wood floors and decorative wood ceiling. But that was just the room. We booked deluxe room and the balcony facing the Matterhorn view, which is very beautiful view.
But take note of that , another side of room is facing cemetery. This is what I don’t like .
But hotel services is not bad , Everyday have free chocolate, and we have welcome drink champagne and juice.
Bed is comfortable but without aircon so during summer is hot.
Something can improve is to refil the conditioner/shower cap and tea bag of the room Everyday, we stayed for 3 night but they never refil it when cleaning the room.

We had an amazing stay in Zermatt at the Allalin Hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. They gave us great suggestions for touring and getting great pictures. The hotel is beautiful. The owner was obviously a master craftsman as all the ceilings and doors were made and carved by him. Every day there was tea in the lobby and at happy hour they had a special drink. Many of the rooms have a spectacular view of the Matterhorn. Lovely time.

The Swiss Alpine Hotel Allalin was just charming! We were met by a friendly, helpful staff member at the front desk who offered us a welcome drink. She also had excellent restaurant recommendations. Our room was knotty pine with an incredible carved ceiling. The room was clean, comfortable, and charming with a beautiful view. A key issue for us was proximity to the train station which this hotel has. It was about a 10 minute walk through a delightful downtown area. The hotel has a van which we used to return to the train station.The included breakfast was excellent and the internet connection worked great. We would definitely choose the Swiss Alpine Hotel Allalin if we return to Zermatt.

Great hotel in a perfect location

This hotel was lovely and less than 10 min walk from the train station with the Matterhorn directly behind. Checking in I was welcomed with a glass of champagne and a snack. The room was large and comfortable with a nice balcony, and there was complimentary bottle of wine and chocolate there when I arrived. Also included is use of the steam room and sauna, and because I stayed 3 nights I also received a free 30 minute private aroma jacuzzi session in the spa. So relaxing! The staff could not have been nicer and they were very helpful with great hiking and restaurant recommendations.

Stayed for two days ending a week trip in Switzerland, at this welcoming and friendly hotel in Grindelwald. The family that runs the hotel were very helpful and answered every request big and small, from bringing up a tea kettle to packing a breakfast for our early departure to checking the weather along the mountain trails before suggesting hiking route options.

We were greeted courteously and warmly. After a quick check in, we were given complimentary refreshments, a map and general information regarding the main attractions in the area. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The traditional Swiss Chalet decor was quaint but could use some updating, especially the bathroom. The buffet style breakfast was good, with a varied selection of offerings. A complimentary shuttle took us to the train station. We thought it was good value and would definitely recommend this hotel.

This is a lovely little property located in a building with two or three other hotels in it. Incredible wood work and great new and lively furnishings in the lobby, really atmospheric. The two ladies who were working at the front desk during my stay were lovely, helpful and kind. The bed was really comfortable, although the room a bit small it was sufficient. My view was to the north, so no view of the Matterhorn for those who insist on that. On one morning, early enough, before nine, there was loud conversation in the next room that lasted for quite some time and really kind of disrupted my need for some sleep ... I wouldn't mention it if it wasn't for my suspicion that one of the three voices belonged to a member of staff, but I don't know that for sure.

Will definitely stay at Allalin again if I am back at Zermatt

Fantastic location with a lovely Matterhorn view. Even though rather pricey, but its good value for money considering the a good breakfast range and afternoon snack n cocktail/wine inclusive.

Combine a elegant traditional Swiss chalet style with a traditional European Spa and that's what you get at the Allalin. Staff was extremely helpful at planning our stay. Only dislike was the inability to get a king or queen sized bed, which is typical in Switzerland

Beautiful Hotel with balcony views

The stay AT THIS HOTEL WAS EXCELLENT!!! The staff was friendly, the accomadations were comfortable, the interior off the hotel was beautiful, the amenities were really nice! Best of all the Balcony views of the Matterhorn were surreal!

Love Zermatt and love this hotel. It is in a great location and worth paying a little extra for the Matterhorn view room. Breakfast is plentiful and very good. Consistently high quality hotel. Stayed here 23 years ago on our honeymoon and still just as beautiful!

very comfortable hotel

My family stayed one night here. it's a very comfortable and cozy hotel, although it's a little bit far from the bahnhof. It's room and lobby are decorated elegantly and beatiful, it's breakfast is very delicious, its staff is very helpful
