The staff service is horrible. If you pay city tax by card, they will charge you 50% more. The staff is not friendly at all, super mean. You will not have any greeting at breakfast, but will ask you very impolitely to leave your luggage outside of breakfast area. I would not recommend this place if you value customer experience.

We just finished staying for 3 days at the Aristella in Zermatt and really enjoyed staying there. The staff is very friendly and the room was spotless. The Aristella is close to the train station, main shopping area, and attractions like the Glacier Paradise cable car and the cog railway. The breakfast (and the staff at breakfast) are great as well!

Overall this was an excellent hotel, with special mention to the highly competent staff and owners. We found them to be personable and helpful, which isn't always the case in Zermatt.

Nice balcony, quality breakfast and exceptional large wellness centre.

We arrived and the snow/rain had stopped, so we opted to walk... but if carrying lots of ski luggage, I woudl suggest calling hotel and having them send the shuttle for 15CHF (we used this to get back to the train station). We were greeted warmly, and checked in right at 2pm. the Room is modern and clean, but the shower was a bit small and the view from the room wasn't the best.. (ours looked at the dumpsters of the hotel next door lol).. but we weren't in the room much anyway... We did meet the owner who was very helpful in showing us on the ski map the best way to ski the entire mountain without having to go back down to the village and have to take busses.. it was very helpful. We also ate at the Spycher restaurant which was connected and owned by the same family.. food was excellent, but for some reason they didn't have a bartender to make cocktails... they also have a ski shop directly across the street, so this was a big bonus i that we didn't have to carry skis from the shop through the town. Overall we'd recommend this to anyone visiting Zermatt, and we'd stay there again.

One of my friends and I planned a ski trip to Zermatt and stayed at the Aristella. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. A great assortment and the best scrambled eggs I've ever had! The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, and the chocolate left each day was a nice surprise. The location was also very convenient for dining and quick walk to the ski lift. Highly recommend!

The Room is spacious enough for two people and the bed comfortable.

The only small negative point is the bathroom sliding door, not the best choice if you want absolute silence.

It's 5-8 mins walk from the train station to the hotel depending how much luggage/bags you carry, up the slope a bit but still okay, but you could call to arrange free pickup if you know when you arrive at the train station.

We booked the room which could see Mountain Matterhorn! We could see the golden sunrise of it!
The room is very clean and big and comfortable.

The hotel offers tea everyday from around 2-5pm that is very sweet and nice that you can take a break after the trip up to the mountain.

The staff is very nice and helpful that make us have a wonderful stay!

We stayed in room 404, top floor with view of the Matterhorn. It looks just the the hotel’s website pictures. Very spacious room with a couch, chair and small coffee table. The balcony was large and had two deck chairs- fabulous spot to enjoy our in-room coffee and tea in the morning before heading down to breakfast or in the evening as the sun sets. Room has a separate shower stall and bathtub with handheld shower hose. Towels were large and soft and they also had face clothes which are rare in many European hotels. We were there during a heatwave so we did not use the hot tub or sauna that is on site. This hotel does not have A/C, but it was not even missed. Plenty of large windows to open and they have an inner lining of the curtains which keeps out any flies and keeps room cool. Hotel is conveniently located across from a staircase to the river, or you can walk up a gentle sloping road to reach them. We did not use their shuttle because we enjoyed the short walk to the train station. Hotel staff are super friendly and will assist you with all your needs in English if needed. Breakfast was a large assortment of standard European offerings but also had hot items. They will make you pancakes and omelets on request even. Their coffee machine was easy to use and had wonderful coffee, much better than the other hotels we stayed at In Switzerland! Our stay in Zermatt was a last minute decision but the hotel and city turned out to be the best part of our two weeks in Switzerland.

Great stay, but over priced economy room

The hotel was excellently located, fairly even distance to the gondalas, easy reach to ski bus. The rooms were clean, staff very friendly and helpful, but most of all the best breakfast with fresh egg station. The only downside is that we opted for the economy double room - we booked the day before arriving so choices were limited. The room was so small, and for the price of the room it didn't represent great value in that respect. The were other hotels of similar, if not cheaper price that looked as though the rooms could have been at least four times the size. However, that aside overall we had a great stay.

I would definitely come back to stay at Aristella next time I am in Zermatt. The place was recently upgraded and have all the necessities for a great ski trip. The room is super clean and cozy, great shower, heated bathroom floor, great view of the mountain. They also offer fantastic breakfast, afternoon snacks which is great to fuel before or after a long day ski. The staff is super nice and helpful and they even offer many pillow types to choose to ensure a great night sleep. You do need to take shuttle to get to the gondola, but the ski shuttle is right down the street, very convenient. The location is just awesome. I wish they have queen or king bed for a couple, we got 2 twins beds put together, sleeping on a seam wasn't very comfortable.

My fiance and I stayed here in December of 2016, and highly recommend this hotel. Our room was small but very comfortable, with ample storage space. We were skiing during our trip, and really appreciated the separate ski storage room. The hotel gave us a discount for the ski rental shop that was across the street, which was convenient. We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning - there was a wide range of food offered, and an afternoon tea/coffee/snack service. The location is great, and just a quick walk to the main shopping/restaurant area, and the train. We walked to the different ski lifts from the hotel each morning and never had any trouble.
What stood out most to us, however, was the excellent service. The hotel was quick to respond to the emails I sent regarding transportation from the train to the hotel, and special requests. I had a sinus surgery the month prior to our trip, and the hotel had a humidifier waiting for me. Also, my fiance broke the glass table covering in our room by accidentally dropping a coke bottle on it. We went down to the front desk to apologize, and they had someone come up to clean everything. This was at 9 p.m., so it was certainly after hours for the cleaning staff. The bill for the cost of the table was very reasonable, and they offered to provide us with any of the necessary documentation to file a claim with our travel insurance. Their responsiveness in that situation was sincerely appreciated.

Best hotel during our trip

We stayed at 4 star hotels while traveling through Zermatt and found this one to be the nicest of them all. The pillows and comforter made it be hard to get out of bed each morning. The location is great and very walkable to the train station and other stations traveling up the mountain. This hotel has been recently renovated and they did a fine job upgrading...though some rooms still have carpet, like ours, but it was clean and modern looking. I would definitely recommend this place.

This is a beautiful hotel located right in the heart of Zermatt. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Highly recommend you stay here and enjoy the fresh air of the Alps. The rooms are a great size and they are very well kept and clean. Bathrooms are big and again very clean. Breakfast is included, a good start to your day. I would recommend waking up early and catching a sun rise over the majestic Matterhorn peak. For a relaxing and laid back holiday I would definitely choose to return here!

This is a beautifully renovated hotel. The staff at the front desk were wonderful and couldn't do enough for you. The only downside was there is no air conditioning and with the heat wave that was going through Europe, made it difficult to sleep. The staff in the restaurant don't speak English very well, (which was still 100 times better than our German), making it a little interesting to get what we needed. We highly recommend staying at this hotel.

We stayed for 7 nights here. Hotel is perfectly situated for walking about 5 minutes to the center of town. I cannot say enough nice things about the staff - Bernard is so kind, makes an effort to take care of his guests both in the hotel and in the restaurant. Spycher food - wow! I had perch one night, duck another night - everything was superb. When we couldn't get an early enough train out of Zermatt to the Zurich airport, Bernard and Jasmine went beyond the call of duty to get cabs arranged (electric to taxi stand, then a taxi to Visp) so we were able to make our flight home. The daily breakfast was superb and afternoon coffee/delights as well. I would definitely stay here again. As the hotel is new, the condition of the room was great - awesome storage for skiiers and we had a balcony with a view of the Matterhorn. I hope someday I can come back - just an all around awesome hotel.

Luxury boutique hotel with good access to slopes

My wife and I stayed for four nights in late Jan. Hotel collected us at the station which is a great help. The receptionist was so friendly and helpful explaining the resort, amenities etc marking up maps. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. They have a whole selection of pillows and a play station and DVD player available should you want. Breakfast had an amazing choice and in the evening there's cake and hot drinks when you get back to eat by a lovely open fire. We didn't use the sauna/jacuzzi but the boot room was excellent with great boot warmers. The hotel is an easy walk to the Sunnegga lift or Gornegrat train, and close to bus stops for the Matterhorn express lift. The Spycher restaurant specialises in flambéd and grill meats. It's great quality and very intimate. There's also a great selection of restaurants and bars nearby. Across the road is is a good Skiset ski hire shop. The hotel is perfect place for a romantic skiing break. Smart but also very friendly with lots of nice touches.

This hotel is excellent. The staff, the location, the breakfast, and the room was perfect. The price was reasonable considering the overall price level in the country and compared to other luxury ski resorts around the world.

The equipment rental shop is literally across the lane and hotel guests receive a 10 percent discount on all rentals!

Breakfast (included in the room rate) was great with a lot of options for all tastes.

I very highly recommend this hotel.

modern, clean, and quiet

5 minute walk to train station and main street. 10 minute walk to Shwarzee tram. Helpful and friendly staff. peacefull outside sitting near a small fountain. Cozy rooms. I would definitely stay here again.

New room

We stayed in deluxe double room with Matterhorn view. It will be better if we get high floor (there are 4 floors). The room was clean, new and large. However they charged additionally for 4 yrs old kid with no extra bed.

Location: it s not too far for young kid to walk to train station. But for traveling with luggages, hotel provided free pickup from train station.

Surrounding: almost all buildings in Zermatt are hotels, most are not in website.

Friendly Accommodations in Beautiful Location

We stayed at the Hotel Aristella for 2 nights while touring through the Alps. There was free and convenient transportation from the train terminal in Zermatt (Zermatt is automobile-free) to the hotel and back. The hotel is quite pretty and the room was spacious and comfortable, although there was no view of the Matterhorn from our terrace. Not a problem because the Matterhorn can be seen from all over the town, which is very tourist friendly with many places to sit and enjoy the view. The hotel employees were extremely helpful and accommodating. Only drawback was major construction going on in a hotel next door, creating quite a bit of noise when I sat out on the terrace during the day. Our stay was during the off season (in June) and construction might be over during high seasons- better check or get a room away from construction.

Nice hotel in center of village

This is a very pleasant place to stay when skiing in Zermatt. The staff is gracious and helpful. The hotel itself is modern, spacious and nice. Aristella is big enough is have everything you need; and small enough to be genuinely friendly. Location is right in the heart of the village. i enjoyed my stay.

Hotel Aristella

Hotel Aristella was very modern, new and overall a great experience! We loved everything about the room to the size, the heated floors, and bathroom fixtures. The hotel had free internet, a free buffet breakfast, and even a ski room to warm your boots. The staff was also very helpful and friendly- we loved it here!
