The staff were amazing! So polite and considerate, they made sure we had everything we needed and were super helpful. The room we stayed in was amazing!! It was clean and well presented when we arrived. The boat service was really good to get to Erakor island/mainland (it’s free and runs 24/7) breakfast and food was really nice and highly recommended booking the Melanesian night while your there, the food and entertainment was incredible we had the best time!

Great choice for relaxing stay in Port Vila

Beautiful island resort a short boat ride from the mainland. Boat was available 24/7, free. Comfortable room with balcony and steps to the water, nice beach next to restaurant, food was good and restaurants outside resort are close by via taxi. Great service, they have activities - the Melanesian Feast with entertainment and fire show was excellent, highly recommend it. Good breakfast too.

I cannot rave enough about how fantastic this Resort is. I am totally amazed at the beautiful, friendly, accommodating and absolutely fantastic service we received from all the staff.

The villa we stayed in was exceptional, I have stayed in many places and this is at the top of the list. Do yourself a favour and book in to Erakor it is truly exceptional, you will not want to leave. We didn’t want to leave and have decided to come back again.

We had 4 nights at Erakor Island Resort, and had a fantastic time. The rooms were very comfortable, ours had views of the water which was great(thanks for the upgrade!) and the staff were fantastic and couldnt help enough. The restaurant was very good, with the option of themed nights on certain days, and the pizza/cinema night on a Tuesday. More than enough activities to keep busy if you want. Snorkelling straight off the beach. Thanks again.

Gorgeous little units, very clean. Great views. Food is a bit expensive but very good. Fay was our waitress and was absolutely brilliant. Take some water shoes (reefies) as there is lots of starfish and some non venomous snakes you don’t want to stand on. We did loads of snorkeling and kayaking. If you have kids they have a kids club and play area. If you don’t have kids like us it’s big enough resort you don’t have to see or hear them. We only did 3 days, but wish we had done more. We had a room with private pool and beach, was well worth the extra spend. Will absolutely come back here again. Loved it.

This was a great deal through Expedia for seven nights and accommodation and flights. We arrived middle of the night and the travel arranged by the staff was seamless. From the 20 minute drive from airport to the five minute ferry trip to the island. We were very thankful for John who was very gracious and assured us that it wasn't a hassle being available to ferry us across after midnight. Our villa was incredibly spacious for two people with a porch overlooking turquoise waters which provided hours of great snorkeling for us during our stay. When we weren't snorkeling, we were lazing in the balcony reading,enjoying the sound of the ocean, and local children laughing across the waters. The humidity was tempered by the ocean breeze which helped dry our clothes quickly. The wifi worked amazing considering it's an island. The staff however are the main asset of this resort. I can't say enough about them. The grounds are gorgeous and immaculately kept. They are always warm, welcoming and incredibly attentive, especially in the restaurant. The lovely Annie will make you feel like a special guest every morning at breakfast, Natalie will check in on you during breakfast and answer questions and provide information. The music played at the restaurant also added to the holiday vibes. Put your privilege and entitlement aside Western travellers, and don't forget to show your appreciation for the care provided by resilient and hardworking Vanuatuan people for your holiday enjoyment.

The ultimate Island Paradise. From the moment we say the picture of the island we knew we wanted to stay there. It didn't disappoint mostly. The welcome, the staff, the food, the view right outside our door, the snorkeling, the peace and quiet for relaxing all 5 star. The food was fantastic, fresh and tasty. The only slight disappointment was the villas. Very dated, broken taps and door handles, bathroom old and needed updating and we felt the accommodation was way overpriced - but the position and to be able to walk out the back door into the lagoon to snorkel and see tropical fish made up for it. All in all the most memorable relaxing holiday. Highly recommend.

My family (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed at Erakor Island for 8 nights in January 2023. The resort is on its own island, which is a 5 minute free ferry ride from the jetty in Efate, which itself is about a 15 minute bus ride from the centre of Port Vila.

The island is stunningly beautiful, with crystal blue waters surrounding the coconut and palm jungle. The resort is very low scale and laid back - accommodation is in a series of detached buildings scattered around the island, with shared facilities including the restaurant, pool area and a few mixed purpose huts.

Given the relative isolation of the island, we ate most meals in the resort's restaurant. Food quality and variety was good and the value was fair. Service was sometimes on \"island time\" but always extremely friendly. Breakfast (both buffet and al a carte options) are included in the room rate.

For me and the kids the highlight of the island was the water sports. Snorkelling gear and kayaks/canoes/paddleboards are all available to borrow for as long as you want for no additional charge. The snorkelling around the island was quite impressive, with a large range of tropical fish, coral and plentiful giant starfish.

We stayed in a garden 2 bedroom unit. This was comfortable but with a weird layout, as you need to go through the bathroom to get from one bedroom to the other. There is no living area in this unit, so you need to sit outside or on the bed if you want to escape the sun or rain.

Overall a fantastic trip!

The property description of our chosen room on Woyif was not correct and we bought this to the attention on the property manager who promptly relocated us to a room more like the description we chose. This was handled well, but poor water pressure in the shower most mornings and a saggy bed were not ideal. The staff were amazingly great and helpful and the dining options were very nice with 5 star service and a team who went out of there way to make you feel welcome. All up a very nice resort but not quite what I expected for waht we paid. But rooms appear to be at capacity at all times, so they seem to have it right for the market.

We had an amazing stay, knowing they were just opening after covid we knew things wouldn’t be full capacity but they made every effort to give us the full experience. The staff go above and beyond, they just made the trip phenomenal. Our bungalow was clean and gorgeous and opened onto the beach. Plenty to do on the island, and the Melanesian feast night was wonderful! Pizza and movie night on the beach was a great night too! We will defiantly be back!

This place is great! It is not a large resort, so it's easy to walk everywhere. We have a 5 year old so he could run around with the friends he made and we did not need to look too far to find him. The staff are super friendly and helpful too. It's also super easy to get to Port Vila if you want to pick up some fruit from the market. Just recently the pool was completed, so that was a plus and there are plans for a gym early this year and breakfast bar. We'll be back!

This island is definitely the place to stay in Vanuatu! Everyday we were met with friendly staff, smiling faces, beautiful weather and a private beach with stunning clear blue ocean! The ferry to and from is frequent and free so it is super easy to head to the mainland. We loved being met in the morning by Annie for breakfast and the gardeners were exceptionally friendly and would gather young coconuts for us. During our stay they had a variety of activities and a Melanesian buffet night + fire show. The beach water sports are all free.

I would say a couple of things need improving. Our room was a garden bungalow with no curtains and it was quite noisy with the air-conditioning. There are no TVs in these rooms and the beds have no mattress toppers meaning the gap is very prominent when two twins are together. Other than these small elements, we would definitely come back and recommend!

My friends and I stayed at the aqua blue beach house. The rooms were really spacious and clean with more than enough supply of toiletries, clean towels & extra blankets. All the staff were super friendly and genuinely helpful. They ensured our trip was stress-free and hassle-free by taking care of all the bookings for tours, restaurants, etc. The views from the island were absolutely breathtaking. The resort also provided complimentary water sport facilities like kayaks, reef shoes & snorkeling gear.

A Fabulous Holiday!

This resort ticked all the boxes for us. A quieter pace, wonderful staff, comfortable accommodation, excellent food,beautiful scenery and an excellent kids club. Our 10 yr old daughter had an absolute ball canoeing, playing volleyball, weaving, snorkeling and much more!
Nothing is too much trouble and we were well looked after. All the staff were amazing. Thank you to Henry(chief), Leeta(who organised our tour ),Annie,Donna, Lisanne,Cliff(amazing restaurant staff ), the one and only Kevin(the king of kids 😊), Paul and Kessaya.
A highlight of our stay was the Melanesian Feast....food and entertainment was fantastic!
And we would highly recommend Go Vanuatu Tours.

Feels like you’re on a private island

Beautiful, welcoming staff. Location feels as though you have an island to yourself.
We could take five steps from our accomodation and we could be in the tropical blue water.
Water activity equipment being included free was a great touch- my husband and I kayaked, snorkelled and went stand up paddle boarding.

Great location on Erakor Lagoon, across from Warwick Le Lagon and very short ferry trip to main island of fate. Resort is a modest size, much better tropical island atmosphere than the larger resorts on Efate mainland. Relaxed island style. Child friendly. Cool breezes in Sept. Good food at restaurant, including good breakfasts with free cooked inclusions. Friendly staff providing good service. Just remember it is \"island time\". About 20 minutes to airport. Taxis readily available at ferry wharf on mainland - about VUV700 (AUD$9) to town.

The hotel is exactly as described, on a paradisiac little island and with all beach facilities: snorkelling, canoes, paddle board...there is a real authenticity about it which is mostly thanks to the lovely team working there. We loved our 3 days spent there!

Second and last time

The people of Vanuatu are amazing, beautiful and friendly souls. However this resort suffers from most of the same problems that face the tourist industry in Port Vila, which is exorbitant food prices that quite frankly don't measure up to the food standard of an australian country motor inn circa mid 1980's. Around $9 for a large water is outrageous. Toilets aren't clean, and although the pictures look like you would be able to swim, you can't unless its a very high tide. The locals do their best, the gardens are kept extremely well, but what is lacking is the finer dining experience with the amazing local produce, unfortunately its chips, frozen fish, white bread, taro and low quality orange fruit drink and poor fruit quality for breakfast. This is not ok for one of the more pricier higher end establishments. The food is not a healthy choice. If you like white bread, eggs and bacon everyday for breakfast then no problem but like most establishments owned by expats who have them run by locals, port vila and Erakor simply fails to deliver a holiday experience that is priced at reasonably rate compared to its international counterparts.

Nice spot in Vanuatu

For a getaway, Erakor was ideal. Checkin was smooth. The room was comfortable and fairly close to the main area so we didn't have to walk too far. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good pressure. It got a bit windy and cool in the afternoon so I was glad I brought a light jacket.
Breakfast was good, especially the fritatta. The orange juice wasn't really orange juice but the fruit and pastries were nice.
The service was okay. We did have waitstaff ask for our order multiple times after we'd given it, but maybe they were just being sure?
The water was perfect for swimming, although the coral was quite brown and there weren't many fish. It was great to use the kayaks.
The restaurant was a bit hit-and-miss with the food \"healthiness\" and quality. And the prices for meals were very high/ Australian prices.

We had a lovely holiday on Erakor Island. Beach is lovely with great snorkelling, a large variety of fish, saw some clownfish too. The staff are so friendly and helpful, which definitely made our stay special. The food in the restaurant was good too, and similar prices to what you would pay in Australia, which we found was the same when we went to restaurants in town (Port Vila). The steak was great! Room was nice and clean, very basic but fine for us.

Staff were great! Betsy, Paul and Sam were great with our kids.
Room needs to upgrade the A/C. Some rooms have no A/C. We were staying at an unusual hot time in Vila...
Food was pretty good, but expensive.
Transfer to and from the resort was provided but then put on our bill at the end. We though it was included or we would have arranged a cheaper transfer. We weren't told we were being charged.
Also they charge for all non motorized water sports, snorkel gear, kayaks, SUP, etc.
One side of the island must be the sewerage outlet, breezes and water were smelly.

We were most impressed with the privacy in the cabind right on the seaside.
Staff was kind, friendly, polite and relaxed.
Chefs dinner , cooked by Alec , on the beach was memorable and very delicious. The crepe Suzette was to die for. We had it daily.
Outstanding staff, such as Cliff, Sarah, Paul and Timothy were at all times helpful.

The staff are extremely warm and friendly. The facilities are excellent. The beach is clean and there are lots of water facilities, e.g. paddle boards, snorkels etc. Food at the restaurant is excellent. We felt safe enough to let the kids run free, and the staff all knew them and their names. The island is extremely relaxing. The rooms are well-spaced out to make them feel very private and they all face the lagoon - we had a beautiful snorkelling spot right outside out verandah!

Five days at the Erakor Island Resort over Xmas was sublime...having visited Port Vila many times in recent years, I had not taken the time to visit this wonderful Island. Every aspect of this resort is faultless...and the amazingly kind and friendly staff were the icing on the Xmas cake.

Lovely room, beautiful views

We had a lovely stay in a beachfront spa villa. It was incredible to be so close to the clear blue water. Snorkeling was great, lots of fish and starfish. Coral beach was spiky but good to balance a beer on :) plenty of hermit crabs to keep me amused. Would stay again in beachfront room. Ferry was very easy.
Only real down was the food and it's expense and inconsistency. Some meals were lovely, others awful. There are much better eats in port vila.

We went to Erakor for our honeymoon, it was a great place to do absolutely nothing! Although there was a tour hut where they could organise any tour etc you wish along with free water sports activities on the main beach (paddle boards, view boards, kayaks etc).

Perfect Relaxing Holiday

This resort and it's staff are simply gorgeous. Everything here was made easy, our room was simple but perfectly clean and new. The Island is just stunning! Snorkelling off the beach was devine and the sound of happy children playing in the water made it paradise.
