An absolutely beautiful property with a fantastic restaurant onsite. There was a cyclone during out stay and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were very well looked after, safe and comfortable. Would highly recommend The Terraces Boutique Apartments for accommodation, meals and service.

We asked for a quite room and was given a room that backed onto a tennis court and looked put over swiming pool and entertainment area of the holiday inn playing music until past 12pm.we are also non smokers put next door to smokers so smelled the smoke a lot.Asked reception to arrange a taxi to go to airport next day this didnt turn up sent a bus instead for the same price 2000 vuv.very tired property work men dumping rubble at the end of your terrance when you are in the pool no privacy and an eye sore, this started pretty early in the morning until 5pm. 7 days eas way to long wish we woukd of done 3 like all the others did, then moved on maybe this would of made it a better holiday. We were glad to come home. On the plus side amazing veiw once you look past the holiday inn didnt realise until we got there we thought it just looked out to a lagon.

The double storey apartment was wonderful, clean and serviced daily.The bathroom was very luxurious. (Would have liked a shower cap as the shower head was from the ceiling)The staff were so friendly. Our personal pool looked lovely but was not heated so not did not swim in it (would be refreshing if weather was really hot though. Lovely chaise lounge to watch tv on. The selection of movies on the hotels hard drive was a bit hit and miss. Maybe they will look at Netflix in the future. We would recommend this property to stay in.

I want to write a fair review because there were good and bad things about staying at the Terraces.
My husband and I stayed for 7 nights.
The property itself was amazing, completely met expectations and was extremely modern, spacious, comfortable, and loads of privacy, with a beautiful view.The apartment is equipped with everything you would need, like a home away from home.
If this was just a review on the apartment, it would have been 5 * However for us the staff at Mangos resort let it down majorly for us. Firstly, we were approached by a taxi driver that waits outside the resort, who wants you to take an expensive tour of the island with them. We declined for the day, the next day after we had try to take a bus outside of the apartments, the same taxi driver became aggressive with us and made us feel uncomfortable.
Then when we asked the staff at the front desk for info and tours around the island, they had no info and advised they didn’t do the tour that was explained in the welcome book. That’s ok but there was no attempt to give any further advice. All the activities and islands we did, we had to organise and research ourselves, which at times was hard to get all the info, so some info/advice would have been really good.It seems the staff don’t communicate well, they seem undertrained. They messed us around with car hire and our taxi to the airport, where we nearly missed our flight. So if you want to DIY your stay with no help, it’s great!

My comments are in the context of Vanuatu, a beautiful place with climate conditions which show little regard for the general preservation of anything material, buildings, cars ,appliances etc. If the Terraces were in say Australia for example they would be rated poorly, dishwasher didn't work , TV reception was poor, wear, tiny amenities tubes etc. However , I believe this is one of the best places to stay in Vila. If you choose not to rent a car you are quite reliant on taxis which operate from Mangoes next door. We were there for two weeks & as you develop a relationship with a taxi driver dont be surprised that fares keep going north. Always used to hire a car until I had my card debited around $400 on my return home. No explanation & no responses to emails. Avis Australia tried to help but outside there control. It appears the car may have sustained trolley damage in the airport public car park where I was instructed to leave it due to the very early flight. Never got my money out of them & vowed never to rent a car in Vila. Terraces make you quite reliant on these taxis as few buses around in the evening. Staff were lovely. Mangoes own the Terraces & have a restaurant which we visited only once as it was the worst meal in Vila during our stay & to cap it off the sweet young lady serving us could not converse & reeked of body odour. A Saturday night & virtually no one there. Not on the locals radar.

The terraces is considered highly by locals in Port Vila and understandably so. The rooms are clean, linen crisp.
Enjoy the views from your rooms as they come at a little cost, the walk into town is easy, it is the return that is steep, this is a place to stay if you are happy to use the local mini buses, car or cabs. Many stairs linking the terraces to amenities.
My daughter and I felt safe at night, so we slept well. Mangoes restaurant serves tasty piping hot meals we we enjoyed on multiple occasions.
I have been informed that in Vanuatu pools are not heated the infinity pool is no exception, I think the lagoon is warmer at this time of year.
The staff are very helpful, our wifi was a bit on/off (a new cable was installed and that did the trick), and so was the tv reception but that I'm afraid is island life!!!!
Our friends who live in Port Vila were very impressed by our room and the view, they thought we had made a great choice to stay at the terraces.

Grand stay. Loved this place. My bf and I said we would come back and stay here. We booked the premium room with a private pool. Best stay ever! I wish I paid more for breakfast. Mangoes resturant serve the best tasting clean food. Not cheap... but it tastes the best!
We were surprised our room was so big it had two levels and not one mosquito could be found. Turns out they fully spray it. It’s so good. We didn’t get one bite! Sadly we moved to another resort and that place and room was filled with mozzies.
The private pool and roof top was great. Amazing view.
We would definitely come back!
The only thing I can point out is our phone in the room rang 3 times... the receptionist kept calling us and it wasn’t even urgent. I’ve nevee stayed at a hotel where the phone rings. That’s the only bit that was annoying. I did give the receptionist advice when we checked out. It was unnecessary to call someone 3 times, we got woken up twice. The stairs are huge too. It wasn’t even urgent or anything important. Sorry I’m still shocked by it that’s all. The receptionist was lovely, just had no idea...anyway great stay!!!

If you want to relax and zone out then stay at this beautiful place!!
After staying at the Warwick for 3 nights with average service, we got the complete opposite here. The staff were so lovely checking us into our room as soon as possible and offering us a swim in the pool whilst we wait.
Our room was amazing, with our own private plunge pool, massive bath, king bed and a whole list of tv shows to watch.
Each day we had a lovely in room breakfast and made the most of the room service from Mangoes resort which is connected.
The staff were very helpful with planning a trip to the blue lagoon and into town, organising taxis or other transport for us.
As the sun left our own private pool we were able to also make the most of the infinity pool which was only 10 steps for our room. The most beautiful views of the lagoon and on a quiet street.
There is also access to a tennis court and gym which was always available.
This made our Vanuatu stay very special. We will be returning!

The location had a pleasant outlook and was an easy 12 minutes walk to CBD. I went with the view to spending most of my time reading rather than touring around and it worked well to achieve this outcome. Overall it was the right place to stay for me rather than one of the out of town resorts.

Apartments modern, plenty of space with great views. Short walk to the main Port Vila towns, staff very friendly. Port Vila easy to get around with regular buses driving past. Next door at Mangos Resort fantastic restaurant. Apartment well fitted out with full kitchen, big bathroom with bath tub. Worth the stay.

Spacious, modern apartment - walk to town

Our family of four stayed at Terraces for seven nights in the two bedroom apartment. This comprised of a one-bedroom apartment with own plunge pool and a connecting studio with own bathroom. Facilities are modern, clean and of a high standard. The restaurant is located in the next-door sister-resort and is of a high standard. Staff are friendly and helpful. The apartments are a 10-15 minute walk to town (USD5 taxi ride) which is convenient for shopping, restaurants and attractions like Iririki Island.

Great apartments!

Loved this place and the staff were fantastic. Fabulous panoramic views of the lagoon and beyond from the large plunge pool, and great food in Mangoes restaurant. Of special note too was that although we were up so high, the water pressure in the shower was excellent, which doesn't usually happen in many elevated hotels. We will back for sure!.

Hi all , well first of all we had 9 night stay booked since the end of December 2017 through early January 2018 , airport transfer to the Terraces was a bit messy and overcrowded but once we got to our apartment we felt better as it looked really nice and the only bad thing about it was that our shower was not in a good working condition and for my wife that was a huge issue as watter was just dripping.
Everything else was preatty good ,food in down the street Mangoes Restaurant was delicious but when they had all the ingredients as it happens not very often so i would say that upper management has to work on that ,otherwise then that all good and great very nice and friendly staff ad would be coming back gladly in the future .....

Beautiful but Problematic

Beautiful place however much to be desired in terms of organization and maintenance. Upon arrival we were disappointed that our driver took a long detour into town, causing us to miss dinner. Upon arrival wifi password was missing and we had to wait until morning to contact reception. No reception in terraces, all done through mangoes which is a bit of a walk. Couldnt dial out with room phone so we were left stranded when reception was closed, making going out for dinner hard. Aircon faulty, and pool cleaner not respectful of privacy. However breakfast was great, restaurant and reception staf were great, housecleaning gave us free laundry and killed a spider for us which was above and beyond, massage lady amazing.

A spacious apartment with AMAZING views

All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The one bedroom apartments are spacious and the plunge pool and views are simply superb. There is some wear and tear on the furniture but being the tropics I understand this. The breakfast that was included with our room was always delicious and a good variety to choose from. I would definitely stay again.

Beautiful apartment. Beautiful complex. Peaceful location. Loved the private plunge pool and the common infinity pool. Friendly staff. Great breakfasts. Would recommend to friends without kids. Plan any activities in advance as this was difficult to arrange when there, and phone calls are quite $$ from the room compared to what we are used to in Australia.

Awesome apartments and very friendly staff. Our room's plunge pool unfortunately had a broken pump so was a bit loud when operating. Lighting in the bathroom could be improved, and it's a bit of a shame that the sun disappears behind the apartments quite early in the day. However, overall it was an excellent place to stay for excellent value. Love the infinity pool, which stayed sunny until just before sunset. Would stay again for sure.

Boutique Living at Its Best

We had booked a studio Terrace but we were given a one bed room apartment so we were over the moon from the very first minute (Thank you to Becky and Tom).

The apartment had fantastic views of Erakor Lagoon and the morning sunrises was pure gold. The apartment is large and beautifully decorated (Some furniture looked a bit tried but) with comfortable and separate spaces including a fully equipped kitchen. The apartment was spotless, the bed huge & so comfortable, sheets clean & fresh and the cleaning was done daily (Staff was always friendly).

Breakfast was at Mangoes next door or you could have it delivered to your apartment for no extra charge, this was the same for lunch or dinner. The food can be pricy and the meals can vary from day to day i.e. great one day and average the next.

There are taxis (500 VT) and buses (150VT) readily available for easy access into town (We did walk once to town to get a feel of the area, it didn’t take long and it was enjoyable but was worried at times about the dogs around the streets).

We selected to stay at The Terraces after reviewing their website (Pictures are accurate) and based on the other positive reviews which had been posted, we would recommend The Terraces Boutique Apartments.

Big shout out to Frank who arranged a tours for us.

Great clean place to retreat to!

Stayed 6 nights,
Positives:
-House keeping were fantastic, friendly & left the appartment spotless every day.
- Appartments very well layed out and spacious with nice clean plunge pools
- reception staff provided great very helpful and quick service which is hard to find in Vanuatu
- wifi in our room was very good and they have also included access to 700 movies, doco's, tv shows etc
- the managers Tom and Becky are good hands on managers, very welcoming to feedback and always looking to improve things to make this lovely place even better
- Sammy the taxi driver was great
- there are no small children or babies allowed to stay here so there is lots of peace and quiet
- would stay again
Development opportunities:
- the floor of the tennis court is made up of annoying plastic/rubbery squares that effect the way the ball bounces etc. the standard carpet or even clay floored court would be much better.
- the location is 15mins walk, 5mins drive from main town. Getting a bus at times can be difficult as there are no standard bus roots. taxi drivers that are there mon-fri rip all the guests off Charing high prices in comparison to other drivers. Barry is the worst one & is the leader so if you want to use a different driver and he's around you can't because he's at the top of the pecking order. plays dumb saying he has no change and will pay u back & never dose (other guests also complained of this) . As guests paying $400 a night should have free shuttle within 20min radious.

Nice view, but that's it.

We booked the terraces due to the amazing photos shown. Although the view is the only good aspect about this hotel.
I will break it down into honest reasons why i would not recommend anyone to stay here.

Staff
While the groundskeepers were very friendly the restaurant staff at mangoes (which is connect to terraces and is your reception for terraces) were very slow careless and had an overall blazay attitude. Now traveling i understand service is not going to be the same everywhere, but the issue is they charge premium pricing for dishes and deliver lackluster results and service. My wife received food poisoning early on, furthermore you we had to ask them to fix the order a number of times when we ordered and payed extra such as sassuages. What makes this more frustrating staying in the terraces means that at night this is your only food option unless you take a cab into town every night.

Room service, probably the worst we have seen , for example we needed a cleanup in our room because a glass had broken, it took over 30 minutes for the girl to arrive, she didnt bring a dustpan only an old broom and gave it to use to clean. We didn't take it off her so she just looked at us. She then had to go and get a dustpan which took another 20 minutes.

The pool. This pool gives the image of a private pool overlooking the cliffs, what they dont show you is above there is a house which has workers who are making noise during the whole day and all hang over the wall and look down

Only con was the depth of the steps into the private plunge pool and infinity pool, needed another step or hand rail. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend this accommodation to others.

Loved our stay - were picked up as requested at midnight, room spotless, bed sooo comfy and sooo huge, sheets clean and fresh, cleaning done daily and cannot recommend highly enough. Eating at Mangoes next door was great with
fabulous staff, and excellent food. Taxis and buses readily available for easy access into town. Rental car was also readily available. Becky and Tom were super obliging to make our stay memorable and hiccup free. Thanks Guys

Stunning views

The apartments have fantastic views of Erakor lagoon. They are large and beautifully decorated with with comfortable spaces for family and entertaining. It's great to have the choice between using the private plunge pool or infinity pool. The colours of the pools match those of the lagoon. All in all a peaceful paradise. We wanted to stay forever!

Stylish apartments in an area close to shops bars.

Would recommend these apartments as they are connected to mangoes apartments and you can use their pools and restaurant. We were there last week for our daughters wedding in vanatau.although her wedding was not held at the resort,the family chose to stay there. Fantastic experience all round

Spacious one B/R apartment with all the necessities including fabulous en-suite and plunge pool. Nothing to criticize, and when an issue of maintenance was raised, it was dealt with professionally in a timely manner. This really is the place I would come back to in Port Vila, excluding school holidays when other peoples children would detract from the intimacy of the location. Loved having a kitchen. The gym and tennis court are great, but the noise would impact the quiet amenity of others during periods of high occupancy / use.

Absolutely fantastic.

Great views and really nice private pool. Super cool air conditioning or just open the louvers for fantastic cross ventilation. Massive comfy bed. Good meals at mangos next door or they deliver to your room for no extra charges. More than 100 free movies to watch. Easy 10 minute walk to town or catch a bus for 150 vt per person (this is a port villa bus not a aussie style bus). Can book trips on site. The pictures on the web site are spot on. We will be back for sure.

We went for a 4 night trip and stayed in a studio room.
Great view over the water and good size room.
Adjoining The Mangoes Resort. Breakfast and room service came from Mangoes.

20minute walk to the town centre.

The staff were great and always willing to help.

The walls between room are really thin and we could hear everything from next door which was a shame.

We wished we had more than the two nights in our apartment as we didn't get to take advantage of all its amenities. The resort is modern though (on closer inspection) not always of a high quality finish.
We had a one-bedroom two-level apartment which was very large for the two of us and would suit an extended stay.

Lovely, quiet and private apartments

You are left to your own devices at this boutique apartments complex. There are very few people around and staff and few and far between- but easily contacted at the adjoining Mangoes resort. The lovely ladies that serviced our room always left it in beautiful condition and the kids always enjoyed seeing how their teddies were arranged and what they were wearing (their nighties and pjs usually). The pools were too cold to swim in in June which was the only negative. The breakfasts at Mangoes were excellent but would probably give the dinners a miss - over priced and over cooked. A short walk into town or a $6 AUD taxi fare is worth the money. Best meal we had was a Cafe du Village in town.

Wonderful, could not fault if I wanted to. It was run by professional hospitality staff which made it a very relaxing and pleasing stay.
