The room was clean & tidy. The staff were lovely & we were able to leave our luggage there until our room was ready. This meant we didn't have to haul them around with us & the same on departure. The breakfast was really nice. A great selection of hot food, cold meats, cereal, etc.

Pictures were not representative of the actual hotels rundown, grubby condition. The room I was given first had wet carpet in areas. Bed linen was dirty and one pillow had what I suspected to be bodily fluids on it. Woke up in the middle of the night to another rooms faulty bathroom fan making a clatterling noise, which ran from 3am to 8am. Hotel did move me to another room, but no one really cared. Second room was better but still grubby. Carpet in hallway hadn’t been hoovered in a while. Took videos and photos. Hotel not interested.

Great location! Near shopping, grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops and cafes. Shower was hot and pressure was great. Lovely staff. Rooms were ok. Beds were comfy, duvets were nice. Light beside bed stayed on all night, something was splashed on one wall, and we found a random pill on the floor that didn’t look like it was someone’s prescription. Also put up our “Do Not Disturb” sign as soon as we checked in and twice housekeeping knocked on our door asking if we wanted services, and once, they just unlocked the door and came in unannounced while we were sleeping. All aside, would stay here again. You can’t beat the price or the convenience.

My boys arrived before us and were given a room with mold on the curtains and the room smelled like sewer mixed with bleach. When we arrived I hat my room changed but the room looked like it was under construction. There was a hole in the wall in the bathroom with cords sticking out -I’m assuming it was ment for an outlet since there wasn’t any in the bathroom. The floor in the bathroom was dirty and I literally washed it my self and put some towels an the ground, plus there was clumps of hair on the carpet-not sure if it was vacuumed at all. If it wasn’t for the fact that there was no hotels available in the are I would have checked out immediately. I’m giving it 2 stars only because I feel bad for the staff and because the hotel in great location

Fantastic location, short walk from the main station and you feel like your in the heart of the city centre.
Rooms were clean and tidy, staff were very friendly. Breakfast was ok, have had better in most other hotels I've stayed in.
The room we had, lacked double or triple glazing. It was very noisy outside form late afternoon til early morning. Then you had the street cleaners going round. Didn't get a great night's sleep on any night of my stay.

+s: Absolutely in the midst of all the restaurants and bars. Reasonably quiet. Water pressure ok.
-s: Very tired looking and poorly lit room. Odd bathroom and at the top of four flights of very narrow, spiral stairs (lift will not take you to the very top).
Considering the price point (expensive) I would not go back.

The rooms were very clean and more modern than I anticipated based on the pictures online. The building itself is still very old however, and rooms are not very sound proofed. We woke up a few times throughout the nights because of the noise and sound of other guests getting in late.

I could also constantly hear people above walking around, and doors being slammed. Made it hard to relax at times; but the experience was ok.

We arrived late and were allocated a family room on the ground floor. We couldn’t easily find the room so needed a member of the reception staff to help. They also found it difficult to find the room and while they figured it out swore repeatedly and kept saying they ‘fu**ing hate this hotel’ We eventually found the room and entered. It was tucked right at the other end of the hotel. The window is at street level and revellers used the outside window ledge to sit and talk late into the night. We expected some outside noise given the location but this extreme.
On the plus side, the room was fairly clean. Nice beds and bedding, great shower. Coffee machine & TV all there. Just grubby carpets and walls tatty.
The breakfast was pretty good, chilled out and well stocked. Friendly staff.
The location is very central.
As a family, I wouldn’t recommend it - unless proximity to the station is a priority as it was for us.
For a group of four party-goers it would be a good option and reasonably priced.

Super welcoming and friendly staff that did their best accommodating our stay!

When we came in they noticed we had lots of luggage and they went out of their way to get us a room that didn’t require a lot of walking up the stairs to make it easier for us and we didn’t even request this but they did it anyways!

They answered all our questions and concerns with a very friendly smile!

We had a clean room with AC available here. No complaints :)

Check out was also super simple and amazing.

We will definitely book here again in the future!

Best place for location!!

If we visit Amsterdam again we’ll definitely be returning to stay at the XO hotel - purely for the location alone!! We were right in the middle of the shopping area with the bars and red light on our doorstep so it was super easy getting off the train and a tiny walk to our hotel and sight seeing. The room was clean and the lobby had nice seats to hang out with friends. One particular guy on reception was really blunt and rude when we phoned to ask some questions about checking in but the staff we saw in person were helpful and friendly. No hairdryer in the room as advertised but I’m sure they would have got one if I asked. Could do with a mini fridge, some coat hooks and better lighting in the room but the bathroom was well lit and a good size and clean.
Fair prices for the rooms so we’re really pleased.

We stayed at XO Hotel for a couple nights recently on a trip to Amsterdam with my friend. We chose this hotel for its convenient location as it was walking distance to all the sites. We didn’t have breakfast included for our stay but had breakfast locally each morning and there were lots of places to choose from. We had a twin room which was a really good size and very clean. The weather was really warm in Amsterdam during our stay so we were glad our room had free air con. The hotel is on the periphery of the Red Light District but was very safe and not loud. My only criticisms would be that the lighting in the room was quite dark especially around the mirror in the bedroom, there was no fridge and also there was not a great selection of drinks and milk for the coffee machine - but having the machine none the less was a nice touch. The staff on the front desk were friendly and we got discount vouchers for some of the places to visit or restaurants. I would stay here again if I revisited Amsterdam.

Give this hotel a wide berth

The room was shabby. The bathroom, especially the shower cubicle, which was beyond disgusting, was very poor. The basin tap was hanging off, the shower head was hanging off and it was like standing beneath a tap. The towels were tiny, thin and old. We were not allowed to have coffee cups and had to make do with paper cups, which were stained and looked used. The evening concierge was beyond rude. He was obnoxious, very unprofessional. We paid a lot of money for this trip, and it was ruined by this hotel and the appalling lack of respect shown by one of its front of house staff members. We witnessed another guest being poorly treated on our very first day, so it didn't really put us in a good frame of mind to be honest.

Terrible hotel - room stank of cigarette smoke and when I raised this with the reception staff, there was no offer to give me a different room. Hotel was grubby and extremely dated. Bathroom towels were torn. The only plus was the room having a coffee machine! The notice board refers to sex workers and drugs which indicates the hotel’s low standards.

I visited to have a quiet few days off trip meeting friends. I realised hotel room was changed from what i originally booked without my notice.
The room was noisy as next to main road but also was smelly and was dark!

I raised this in morning and i was given another room, from 115 to 137. 137 was nicer but the room again was smaller than what i booked.

There was constant issues with door as the key wouldnt work and a colleague helped to recharge and then let me in.
I was not even given toothpaste brush any kit? Also no slippers. Upon querying i was handed this on on day.

Breakfast also was poor, and the area was not clean.
I paid a significant amount and felt it was not at all good or value for money. Im sharing some photos.

Also i lost €110 which i complained about during transfer of room but hotel staff couldn't do much.

Id like to escalate this and get compensation not just for money lost but also the abysmal experience i had.

The hotel has a fantastic location—just a 20-minute train ride to the airport, which is very convenient. However, the rooms are quite dark, and there is very little privacy as I could hear noise from the neighboring rooms. If you prioritize location over comfort, this could still be a good option.

I jad high hopes as this hotel was recommended to me.....i believe most of the staff are the best thing about the hotel. They are so helpful and so nice.
Our room was nice but i didmt sleep friday or saturday due to noise as the street outside is all partys. There was no window to open in room so no fresh air. The bathroom constantly smelt like sweage. On thr sunday i asked could the bed be changed and was told no as they only chamged if u stay 4 nights or more. I even asked could i have the sheets and i would do it myself and was still told no. Reception came 2 show me the heating twice as the room was freezing. Upon check out it was a different man on reception not asked how was your stay did you enjoy it etc. Location is amazing but something needs done with drains and window to prevent the noise that keeps customers awake at 5am in morning.

Cheap, run-down. I checked in, then checked out hours later and found another hotel. I didn’t bother complaining because I didn’t have the energy: Dingy carpeting, water leaks and puddles in the room; the sink would not drain and the television would not work to add insult to injury. The noise is horrendous: the floors are wooden and you can hear people above you jumping and moving around, disturbing my rest. It’s an old building that should be demolished.
