Check in was a complete disaster, I had to email twice and call 3 times before I could receive the checkin details.
The checkin was a 6 digit code for the front door, there is no receptionist, which is fine, room entry is via a QR code scanner instead of a key. What if your phone dies..?
The scanner on the door didn’t work well at all.
To get to the room it was a series of narrow corridors, stained carpets and a tiny lift (usual in Paris).
The room was small, cramped, dim and depressing, with stains in the carpet. Despite having a double bed, two people in this room would feel very cramped.
I didn’t pay for breakfast as it was basic, help yourself and overpriced, but I was made to feel uncomfortable for not doing so..!

Overall an overpriced soulless hotel offering nothing for the money, The neighbourhood is wonderful, real Parisian life away from tourists, there are better places to stay at better prices than Hitel Makom.
Would I recommend it..? Never

Small rooms and next to no service

The room is lilliputian. For EUR 170 per night, it's cleaned every three days (two if you complain). There is no reception. You receive a QR code that opens the room, and a code to open the main door. The management has obviously not noticed that the Olympic Games are over and did not adjust prices accordingly.

Arriving in Paris from the US for a medical conference we experienced an unexpected accident which resulted in a personal injury, a broken foot. Arriving at our motel The Makom Pereire we found staff generally concerned and helpful with our well being. Our only problem was though there was a lift there were 5 steps up to it and I was non weight bearing. The staff helped as to locate a pharmacy and obtain a wheelchair for mobility. Determined to see Paris on this first and most likely only trip the staff was helpful in getting us and the wheelchair out of the motel to awaiting Ubers or Taxi's. On day 2 and 3 it was apparent that we were struggling with the lift and 5 stairs. Staff then tried to get us moved to an entry level room. Carmen sent a picture of my foot and cast to his supervisor and the next day a room was made ready. We believe the young lady cleaning the room was Marissa- though all were extremely helpful. The music to my ear was the words \"Madame Moselle your room is ready\". God and Makom staff had provided a handicap accessible room where we comfortably completed our stay in Paris. Thank you is not enough to express our sincere thanks. We will certainly recommend Makom to anyone heading to Paris.

Really bad experience ! Le check in n'etait pas facile, on s'etait fait dire qu'on pourrait laisser les bagages dans un locker a l'hôtel, alors que la madame qui teavaille la nous a dit qu'il n'y a pas de locker et on peut juste laisser les choses comme ça. En plus, on sonne a la porte très longtemps et ca prend une éternité pour que quelqu'un nous ouvre la porte. La 2e nuit, l'air climatisé faisait un bruit tres bizarre et c'etaif dérangeant pour dormir, on a appele le gars qui travaillait là et il nous a dit qu'il a essaye de faire son possible sans même essayer de nous transférer de chambre ou agir rapidement. Il avait la sang froid et disait j'ai fait mon maximum alors qu'il n'a rien fait pour régler le problème. En gros, c'est comme s'il disait qu'on doit supporter le bruit et c'est tout, on n'a meme pas dormi toute la nuit a cause du bruit. Personne vient nettoyer la chambre ou meme mettre des mouchoir supplémentaire. En faisaant le check out, ca a pris 15 min d'attente pour que quelqu'un sorte nous dise ok c'est bon qu'on parte. Service pas bien et jamais je vais recommander quelqu'un la bas. Dommage parce que c'etait notre première fois a Paris.

The breakfast was good. It was a unique experience to stay at a hotel without a reception, and the unique was of entering the building and room. The bathtub/shower needed rails for support in getting in and out, and in case one slipped whilst taking a shower since the shower / bathtub floor was not slip-proofed.

This hotel has very poor service and management. They don’t have real reception at all and claimed they will send QR code for check in. They sent a code for part of the confirmation that wasn’t working and would not answer any questions before we leave for our trip. We didn’t have a good feeling about that. Finally upon arrival at the hotel, a couple of young ladies were sitting around a table and told us they were over booked and won’t have room for us. Instead they booked us for the same price for another hotel in a different Arrondissement which normally people don’t prefer to stay based on the reviews. We booked the hotel a few months back and couldn’t find anything in such a short notice if we didn’t accept the new offer. This brought us a lot of unnecessary stress and almost ruined our one week trip in Paris. Strongly don’t recommend this hotel.

The location is excellent with all major attractions ready to access. The facility however is a bit old with very small rooms, old carpeting, tiles and bathrooms. The toilet in the room is so high that it is very uncomfortable to use. There is only soap but no shampoo or conditioner. Overall very bare bone rooms.

The breakfast is great value for money at 14 euro per person compared to nearby restaurants.

This property was centrally located and the breakfast was good but the room was super old and not fully clean - furniture broken with stains and dust everywhere. Several of the staff were not very friendly. Very thin walls so it was sometimes hard to sleep if a guest was talking. I wouldn’t stay there again.

The property is located about fifteen minutes walk from the Arch the Triumph. The bathroom was very clean and of good size. The bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, there was not an extension for the kettle and the carpet had bad smell. No hand wash provided.

The hotel is good. Its location is excellent, within walking distance of Place de l’étoile and the Pereira-Levallois and Porte Maillot metro stations. The hotel is basically staffless. They do not clean ir make up your room regularly. They change towels every second day. The walls are thin so you get to hear your neighbors if they are a bit noisy. MAIN DRAWBACKS: their electric outlets are ONLY of the French type. We took only by chance an adaptor, otherwise we could not have been able to charge our phones. This would have been a tragedy considering that your room’s lock works only with a QR code and most importantly they do not supply enough toilet paper and since there is virtually no staff, if you run out you will have to buy your own. Apart from these small drawbacks the hotel is nice, well located and very reasonably priced.

BEWARE! Please ensure you get the room you paid for!

We booked a “Superior Room” on Expedia, but when we arrived at the hotel, the room we were given was shockingly small, not what we expected. It was barely big enough for two people, I have a closet at home that’s bigger than the room we were first put in. There was nothing “superior” about it.

After spending six out of our eight nights in that room, I finally brought it up with the staff because I suspected we were given the wrong room type. About five minutes later, I got a call from a staff member who assured me we were in a superior room. I explained that the room didn’t match the photos or descriptions online, no view, there was no shower curtain, the bathtub didn’t hold water due to a faulty drain stopper, the room itself was cramped and for the amount of money we paid, the room was not worth it!

Thankfully, the staff offered to show us a different room on the floor above and what a difference! It was spacious, clean, and actually matched what we had originally booked.

My only regret is not speaking up sooner, we could have enjoyed a better room for more of our stay. When people travel to Paris, they want a great experience, and that includes their hotel stay. Even if it’s just for sleeping, comfort and space matter.

I’m truly grateful to the staff for helping us switch rooms for our final two nights, it made a big difference. Just make sure to double check that you’re getting the room you actually booked!

The good: The facility has air conditioning and lots of restaurants within close proximity.

The bad: Was not given the same room that was booked based on the pictures, front desk is regularly left unstaffed, room had weird stains on the carpet (unsure if mold or bleach stains), bedsheets did not smell clean, only one working power outlet in the entire room.
Can’t complain too much as you get what you pay for, but just a word of caution if you decide to book here.

My only complaints are that I did not receive check-in instructions until I had to contact Orbitz at the last minute and they messaged the hotel. Also, the shower flooded the bathroom and without accessibility to on-site staff, I had no one to notify. Otherwise, room was comfortable, clean, spacious and very quiet. A good location if you want to stay slightly outside of city area but still walking distance to metro.

Incredibly noisy, you will hear everything. We were in a room next to the entrance, so we had that, other guests and then outside noise to contend with. The hotel was nice enough, but we had bleach stains and potential blood stains on the carpet. Its ok for a short stay but wouldnt stay for longer than 3 nights.

I really liked this hotel. The entrance and check-in are automated. The information is very clear and simple. It's a 15-minute walk from the Arc de Triomphe. The hotel is very nice and clean. I arrived at 12pm and had to wait until 3pm for check in and after waiting for 3 hours I go in my room hasn’t been cleaned from the previous stay. Dirty towels on the floor and a used bed. I call to get relocated, I was put in room where the WiFi didn’t reach and not only that, a man walked into my room while I was sleeping because they forgot to deactivate his QR code since they transferred me into his room before he checked in. The lady on the phone was nice but overall poor management of the place. Did not get compensation for anything. Would not recommend and would not return

Room and bathroom were very small but worked for us. The shower was dicey because it was so small (water ended up on the floor) and shower curtain was too long. Molly who worked and cleaned was AMAZING. She is the reason I didn't give it an average rating. Location was close to the Metro. There were maps showing the area but no maps available showing the local transportation. I felt very safe.

Where do I start? If I could give this property a negative 10 star I would. We arrived and wanted to take a warm shower and the water was lukewarm, as time went on, it got ice cold. The next day, we had NO warm water at all. The room was dirty and our bedcovers were stained with blood. I guess they do not clean or change the bedsheets every day and/or if new people check-in. Our TV remote had no batteries. Some of the towels were dirty upon arrival and we had to ask multiple times to get new ones. There is no staff available bc it is self-check-in, so if you need anything you have to time it right to make sure you can talk to someone.
Wifi is spotty or none existent. Make sure your phone is charged so you can get into the hotel. You have to use a pin number and QR code to get into the hotel and room. Overall not the best experience. Save your money and find another accomodation.

All staff we met at this property are very helpful. We were especially grateful for the staff on duty on Christmas Day. My child was sick and the staff on duty for breakfast went out of her way to help us to get ambulance and made sure the ambulance staff met with us before taking off.

The area is served by multiple bus lines and subway lines. There are also many dining options, bakery and convince store within walking distance. The room and hallway are small, similar to other major cities but it had what we need. The neighborhood feels safe and we didn't see any problematic figures around.

Staff speaks English. Even though the website says that there is no front desk, there is usually one staff in the lobby area or working in the building, so guest can ask for help if needed. You can also store luggage after checking out.

My stay here was really great! Despite not having a receptionist per say they do usually have a staff member there during the day and also one at nights.

Room decor was top tier! Which was a pleasant surprise. Didn’t see that design in the photos.
Sebastian was really friendly and helpful.

We walked to the arc de triumphe a few times (under 20 minutes).

Breakfast at the hotel is a bit limited.. so I would suggest going down early to eat. They don’t seem to prepare much food.

There’s a restaurant right next to the hotel, however I didn’t eat there. Not sure if it is good.

Shops aren’t that close… but if you’re willing to walk about 10-15 minutes to the main roads you can find bakeries and shops.

To note if you have a toddler:

I came with a toddler, I had to climb a few steps and use the lift with the push chair which was a bit frustrating, hallways are also quite narrow and lift is tiny and I couldn’t get the room changed. It’s a Little less convenient with a toddler that needs a push chair but not impossible

First, I will take responsibility for not seeing that there was not front desk staff on duty, had I known this I would have not booked this hotel, as this is very inconvenient. When we got there, we had no way of getting in, as the email we received was all in French. I continued to ring the security bell when finally, someone came and let us in. He gave us a security email in English with a code to get in and or scan to get in our room, we were scheduled to stay for 2 nights, the reason we choose this hotel was the website said it was 5 mins walking to the Elfie tower; however, it was not, but it was ok, we just found a taxi. Once we got back to the room, the air was not working had no one to ask, called the emergency number could not understand her, but someone came and said it was working, that's how their air works, we opened a window and slept hot. Needless to say, we ended up leaving the next morning, losing the extra nights money we already prepaid.

I booked a stay for me and my partner for her birthday. Everything upon our arrival was smooth until we were informed by the hotel we would receive our PIN code to access the hotel/room 24 hours before arriving. It got to the day we arrived in Paris and we had not received anything about our room code. 3pm which was checkin time and nothing still so my partner on the phone over an hour to Expedia to try and see how we can get into our hotel. We were then told we would have to change hotels due to all numbers not working so could not reach anyone working there. This was very worrying as I have paid a lot of money for 3 nights and this was the treatment we received. Luckily a cleaner was working and she let us in but still could not get through to her manager. Overall comfy stay but very very disappointed in the situation we was left in.

Location is close to many subway stations and bus stops that can conveniently transport you to the popular tourist sites. There are plenty of dining options around the area (5-10 minutes walking). The staff was cordial and prefessional.

The only thing hotel doesn’t has a front desk , before your stay they sent you a QR code via email to enter your room (don’t miss out on that and recheck everything ) and the second thing that I didn’t quiet enjoy is extremely thin walls , could hear even people sneezing from rooms far away from ours . Other than that I would rate 8.5-10 . Recommending this hotel if you are staying in Paris

Makom Pereire was a great hotel in a good location. I felt like the area was more of a residential area than a tourist area, though. I didn't have any issues. When I arrived to Paris, it was after dark and I walked to the hotel with my luggage from the metro station. It was about a 4 min walk to the metro train station and there were lots of restaurants along the way that stayed open pretty late. The hotel was clean and the staff was very nice. Sebastian took care of all my needs whenever I needed anything. Please be aware that there is no front desk staff whenever you arrive but they do send you a pretty detailed email on how to get into the building and into your hotel room (QR code to gain access to your room). There is a QR code in each room that you can use to get in contact with the hotel staff via WhatsApp, however, I feel like they provide everything you would need in the hotel room. Lovely, lovely hotel, I would definitely recommend staying here.

Loved the area, the hotel and Room.was nicer than l expected. A Beautiful neignborhood, away from the busy areas, but walking distance to Arce de Triompe and metros. I Loved my room for the price.
Bathroom was nice, tub/shower had great water pressure. Just a very pleasant location and Room. Felt safe as a solo female traveler!
