Martha at the front desk made my stay one of the best hotel experiences I've had in a long time. She was very accommodating, when I arrived from a long drive and got there early. The food and service was top notch. I will definitely be staying there again, Anytime i'm in houston.This is my new spot. Thanks again Martha at the front desk.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Great location, nice and spacious room, good restaurant on-site and clean. They have a shuttle that will take you around the local area (within 3 miles) too, which helped me save some Lyft fare. I would come back!

Food at restaurants were good staff was excellent. We’re they failed house keeping was terrible. Room was not cleaned until Sunday night after I went down to the front desk and talked to the manager on duty. They finally sent the supervisor and two ladies to clean our room. They did refund the fees for parking to make it right. Anyway we are one and done with this hotel. Don’t recommend it!

The hotel was nice however my biggest complaint would be about the housekeeping service. We requested for housekeeping expecting the dirty sheets and pillowcases to be replaced with clean ones however upon inspecting we realized that they were not replaced but flipped over. The floors also weren’t vacuumed because the same crumbs and dirt on the floor was still there after the service. The rating would have been higher however after what we experienced with the housekeeping service it raises the question if the sheets present when we checked in was ever washed or replaced. Also the elevator was quite slow.

The front desk staff was alway rude with every interaction, but I would be too with what the hotel allows to go on in the building. The whole hotel smells like marijuana. The ice machine on 3 different floors didn’t work, we stopped looking for working machines before just going to the (always rude) front desk that directed us back to our floor before finally giving us ice. We had to hang our clothes in the shower because there was no full-size closet, just a small standalone closet with a rack big enough for shorts or a skirt MAYBE. The only good experience was the restaurant, the staff was the best I’ve ever encountered. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I will NEVER EVER stay at this establishment again, or any connecting chains associated with them. Good luck if you do.

First night had no hot water at tub or sink. Friday night, sketchy individuals hanging around elevator with no kept trying to operate elevators. Two elderly ladies struggling with luggage cart because none was available to help them. Esspresso machine at coffee bar inop both days.
Flip side, small plate food at bar was quite good. Knowledgeable tenders.
Neat/clean work out room.
Could be so much better with rough edges taken care of

Our stay was good, staff was nice, the rooms were clean, the ac did not cool the room very well but that wasnt a huge deal. When we went to go down for breakfast guest were in the lobby posing and making videos in the seating area with inappropriate bits out (7 am) and the staff allowed it. Not really what i wanted my daughters to see first thing in the morning. There was also puke in the elevator and all the staff did was put a wet floor sign up. But one great thing about this hotel is they offer a free shuttle and the man that drives was friendly and very helpful.

Room size were small supposedly the beds were queen but they look like full. And everything was a charge even parking. The ceiling were low the walls were thin. I could hear the people talking next door from my room. I never got any slippers which was one of the features. And this look like a one night stay with sugar daddies.

Great place to stay during our visit for the Houston rodeo. Room was clean staff were courteous and available when help was required.

Pool/hot tub area was smaller than expected. As we were here in March, not a lot of foot traffic at the pool but I'm sure if it was warmer this area would have been extremely busy and tight for space. The good news here though for warmer months is that the pool only sees sun for a couple of hours per day which probably would be nice in hotter months. The gym is attached to the pool area and is well stocked with quality equipment.

One important item to note is that there is a rental car company, Sixt, at the hotel. Next time we will get a taxi/uber from/to the airport and rent a vehicle at the hotel. We rented an SUV this time due to our luggage but only needed a small car for ripping around town.

I would definitely re-book here in the future. There is also guest laundry on the 2nd floor which is a nice surprise.

At first, I didn't feel that the hotel was a great choice for me. There was a group of women sitting in the restaurant/lobby bar area that were not dress appropriately. Do you not have a dress code? These women had most of the buttocks exposed in their short outfits. It was disgusting and I'm so glad it was only my husband and myself because it would have been extremely embarassing if I had my family with me. I was thinking that maybe they were hookers. You must allow that at this hotel, which is why I won't be coming back again. Get a dress code!

This was our first time staying at a Royal Sonesta. Our first impression was not good because staff checking customers in was most unhelpful and provided no information. I paid extra for a “corner room” and the pictures on the website show windows….I got the view of an ugly wall. I inquired about a high floor and was told that ‘the room they gave me was all they had left’ which I find very hard to believe because the hotel and parking garage were quite empty. I paid extra for parking and the breakfast buffet and received no information about either. I messaged the hotel and got a very friendly call from management that gave me what I needed and even offered a perk which was very kind but we weren’t looking for anything other than details of our stay so we didn’t partake in the offer but it was a very nice gesture. The hallway outside our door was very dirty. The room itself was clean enough but the air never got cooler than 70° and we sleep with it much cooler than that at night so we were hot and uncomfortable. The best thing about the stay was the breakfast. Not only was the food great, the staff was FANTASTIC! They were very friendly and extremely accommodating. Our waitress was Alma A and she was the best! Overall, I’d say the stay was just “ok” but I had high hopes of it being a new place that we’d want to return to. We may return for the breakfast but probably not for another nights stay.

Requested an early check in due to my travel schedule and they accommodated me but didn't say they were charging an extra $58 for it until I checked out. Hallways smelled a little dank a couple nights. Would not recommend for business travel or relaxing stay.

I was late for the day since my flight delay for 24 hours. Front desk couldn't see my reservation. Even though i called to mentioned that my flight was delayed. Luckily I have email showing my reservation. I was booked with Breakfast. But the front desk argued with me that I was booked Breakfast included and charged my additional for breakfast.

I reserved a room with two Queen beds for four people and when I showed up they said they only had rooms with one King bed. When I reminded them that I reserved two beds, they said they gave priority to people who book directly through them versus people like me who booked through Hotels.com. I will never stay there again.

When I arrived, they had overbooked the double queen bedrooms, and we had to stay in a king room with a cot for three people. They offered a $50/night discount, but when I went to check out, they stated it should have only been offered $150 to spend on hotel amenities. I was informed I had to call Hotels.com to have them confirm the discount and then the Royal Sonesta would credit my balance. Eventually, Hotels.com was able to credit me one full night and I did not have to communicate with Royal Sonesta any further. Additionally, during check-in it was not explained to us that we needed to select ahead of time that we wanted our rooms cleaned, so that did not occur during our stay. We had to ask for additional blankets/bedding for the cot as you could feel the springs in it. Our bathroom did not have an air vent. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again when visiting Houston, but was very thankful that Hotels.com was able to credit me for one night given our room situation.

Stayed on 21st floor. No info for room service (food), considering its was a conceirge service room. Room had not been dusted in awhile. Cleaning lady vacumed neighboring room 8am on on a Sunday morning. Security garage gate remained open for at least 12 hours during an event at hotel, which anyone could have entered. Other than that....it served its purpose. Not aware of amenities. Didnt spend much time on property.

Be cautious when a hotel offers you an “upgrade” that you did not ask for.

I stayed at the **Royal Sonesta in Houston** last weekend, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had.
When I asked for a room with a queen bed, the receptionist told me none were available. She went to the manager’s office and returned saying they could upgrade me to a room on the Executive/Concierge floor instead, describing it as a spacious room with a lovely view. I was pleasantly surprised at first, but soon realized it was not really an upgrade or a favor.

Unfortunately, the reality was very different. The room was extremely small—more like an airport hotel room—with a very average view. The most disappointing part was the bathroom. The bathtub and shower head were extremely old, and there was no handheld shower. The shower head looked so old and dirty that taking a shower was quite unpleasant.

I asked if they could move me to a room with a handheld shower so I could help my elderly mother shower. I was told those are only available for disabled guests. I explained that my elderly mother does have mobility issues, but I was then informed that no rooms with a handheld shower were available at that time.

The breakfast was also below average, so I would not recommend paying the $30 per day for it. In addition, there was no bellman, and there seemed to be only one recepti

The two biggest issues are related; the parking is $34/night and they have no airport shuttle. So, if you are coming in for an event at the hotel, your best bet may be a $50-$60 rideshare.

They didn’t mention that housekeeping was every other day or needed to be requested at time of checking. After my first night, I requested for my room to be clean the next day. I guess they missed my request so I tried again the following morning, at the front desk. Once again my request was not addressed and ended up staying 3 nights without any housekeeping. It might be optional and not included in the price, not sure. It a shame as I like that hotel and 8’ve stayed there many times.
