This hotel is a gem! The view from the rooftop, the breakfasts, service and the area around area top. This is my second time staying there and the only suggestion that I keep having is to add a lock from the inside and a “do not disturb sign”, for more safety.

Upon letting them know they made a stupid excuse and they didn’t have any other room available and offered to give me 40euro back which they did and that went straight to the garage ppl they deal with. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. On the last night of our stay the A/C unit started making popping noises and woke us up. Shower was tiny but overall good. Reception staff were ok. Breakfast staff were very good. Continental breakfast was excellent with many options. Location was average but security good. Front gate difficult to open and close. Location was good and staff was friendly. But if you are going in summer - this is not the place. If you are not in fit shape - the shower is not for you.

The front desk people were not very present or helpful. It was a little hard to find, but the location ended up being great. The room needed a little updating. There was some rot in the bathroom where water leaked out of the shower and the ceiling needed a paint job. The views of the Duomo are all from the roof top, which isn’t accessible all the time.

This hotel is centrally located to everything. 6 minutes walk from train station, 10-16 minutes walking to all major attractions. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and much more then a standard Continental breakfast. I highly recommend this property.

Great hotel in an excellent location. Don’t be put off by the entrance area as it does not reflect the hotel. Easy check in with some excellent advice re things to see, do & where to eat. I was passing through the one night but would stay again. The staff were exceptionally courteous. Positive points: location, terrace, breakfast, majority of the staff, negative points: the parking available means they work with a parking that is 5 mins away to offer the parking for36 per night, I didn’t shop around for parking to know if it is expensive or not, but both parking and hotel persist on getting cash for both parking cost and the city tax. On this matter, they only look for their benefits and not to work on a win win for both sides.

He had the Audacity to say that I left it open! Instead of comforting words, he accused me of leaving it open. This was totally UNCALLED for and way out of line. I advised him that our room appeared to have been cleaned, towels changed and trashed picked up. I surmised that Housekeeping was the last to have been there since we left after breakfast. He was so unhelpful and dismissive! I then reported it to Hotels.com for proper incident report. To waste my saliva and time correcting this person was unnecessary. He wouldn’t even take the report. As I was leaving g back to my room, I overheard him say to another young staff, “the lady talks too much”. This made me more infuriated! I need to know what hotels.com concluded from this incident report. Poor customer service

I’ve been in Italy so far for a week and I absolutely loved my time in Florence. Hotel Cantoria was conveniently located a short 5 min walk from the strain station, there was a water fountain a block away, Mercato Centrale was a short 2 minute walk and best of all the hotel itself was beautiful and full of friendly staff. They had breakfast included in my reservation and it was amazing!!! I will be coming back to Cantoria very soon!

Hotel has a great location with an amazing rooftop view of the city especially at night. The hotel room was on the smaller side but comfortable for a couple. The bed was a bit hard and the air conditioning took awhile to cool down the room but overall a pleasant experience and very clean. The staff were very friendly and were able to keep our luggage after checkout for us to explore Florence. Would recommend overall!

Modern hotel close to train station
This charming hotel is located close to the train station, San Lorenzo market and the Galleria dell’Academia. Its entrance is located on the 5th floor of a building ( a bit hard to find though because the sign is small) and from the terrace one gets a nice panoramic view of the city. Our room was comfortable, clean, quiet and nicely furnished ( fantastic bedding !) . The Breakfast buffet offered a nice variety of sweet and savoury foods. Last but not least, the staff were super kind and helpful.

The room was nicely updated, but we had a minor issue with the AC unit. We had to leave the room with the card installed for the AC to run for more than 30 minutes in order for the room to begin to feel cooler. Also, the lobby and breakfast room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. The rooftop area was a nice bonus. We had a cocktail there and enjoyed the great views. The staff was friendly and prompt when handling any issues. Definitely not a bad place to stay if you can stand the smell of smoke, which I can’t.

Rooms were very clean and moderately updated. Black out curtains were a treat and ample places to put the luggage. Good sized bathroom, although the shower was small, like most Italian showers. The breakfast was very good and has lots of options. Front staff were mostly helpful although felt there was a language barrier if you didn’t speak Italian with a lot of the staff. Some staff were very helpful with tips in the city. Others felt like they couldn’t wait to stop talking to you, which could be a language/cultural barrier. Great food market a 2 minute walk which was a great introduction to the cities cuisine. The rooftop bar was by far the highlight of the place. Good drinks with an even better view. Full 360 view of the city.

Booked the hotel for the proximity to main station - a five minute walk Street was very busy with pedestrians and traffic but after a speedy and friendly check in, we had a small but spotless room overlooking the rear so there was no noise. Super clean room and bed, great air con, the breakfast wasn’t massive but all the food there was good quality and the coffee excellent The roof terrace is amazing to be away from the crowds and to see the city from above. I did not stay. They were so unprofessional that they canceled my reservation 4 days before my travel. I had never seen it in my entire travel life. If you are a person who travels on a budget, do not book this hotel. I found a great hotel very well located. During my walk by Florence, I saw where they are. Very noisy street.

I don’t know where to start. All the booking sites as well as any website I found for Hotel Cantoria said no smoking, yet the daytime front desk person themselves was smoking. It lists itself as an accessible hotel but it is on the 5th floor with an elevator maybe 3 feet by 2.5 feet wide. On top of that, you enter on one side and ext to your right. Quite challenging for a person in a wheelchair.
They have a rooftop terrace and a sign indicating, “Go up to the “Terrazza Cantoria” and ask Joy for the cocktail of the day. Well, I can end sure you there is no Joy at the Hotel Cantoria (literally or figuratively).
Lastly, our room smelled like urine and the toilet seat lid was broken. Although they did fix the lid which helped reduce the smell, this has definitely been the most disappointing hotel of our trip so far.
*I do want to say that they were responsive to our complaint which was appreciated. It is close to the train station station which is a plus. Also, the free breakfast is nice.

Happy with the Hotel Breakfast and Rooftop Terrace
We really enjoyed our stay, great breakfast, newly remodeled, great rooftop terrace. Convenient location to everything. And fantastic staff especially helpful Lorenzo at the evening front desk and the friendly morning Breakfast lady. The owners next upgrade really needs to be a new mattresses in room 514 as the springs in the thin mattress are painful especially for a side sleeper.

The hotel is in a great location for the main train/tram Station and also the Duomo. It is in an excellent location for the Mercato Centrale which located near San Lorenzo. This has a huge artisan market downstairs during the day. The food hall area upstairs stays open late and has many places to eat with a central bar.
