Staff very helpful, hotel basic but clean and room well cleaned, location to mercato central and train station very good. Tubs need a safety mat but shower good with plenty hot water.
Breakfast never varied and scrambled eggs always cold despite heater (often not on). Plenty of food but nothing fancy.

The hotel is very tired and grubby. The staff, with some exceptions, were rude. The bed and pillows were extremely hard, with the pillows being flat and balled up. the photos of the rooms on the website are very old and do not represent the current state of the hotel rooms; even staff admitted this. We were given a small room with a view of a wall, with old furniture, grubby walls and floors, and hard beds and pillows. The third bed in our triple room was also not made up.They moved us to another room, which was larger but the same. Due to the uncomfortable beds, we did not sleep well. The next morning, a very lovely man at reception helped us and moved us to a much nicer room, However, even this room did not justify the price we paid, as there are much nicer places to stay for that cost. The best part of this room was the shower, although water overflowed onto the floor, requiring three towels to soak it up!! BE AWARE if booking through expedia, even though the rooms are not what is displayed on the hotel and the hotel is not what it says it is, they will not issue a refund! The breakfast experience was also terrible The area was very busy with no available seating. We had to find chairs from other guests' tables to create our own table, and a staff member simply watched us do this. They ran out of food, cups, and coffee machines were broken.the staff were fighting with each other, it was not great. The bathroom soaps and plastic cups were a disgrace.More 2 star.

Dear Expedia Customer Service Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a significant issue we experienced during our recent stay at [Hotel Name], booked through Expedia.

From the first night of our three-night stay, we were confronted with a very unpleasant and persistent sewer odor in our room. I immediately reported this concern to the reception, and although maintenance was sent to address the issue, their efforts were limited to spraying chemicals and attempting to clear the drain. Unfortunately, the smell of the chemicals only worsened the situation, and the foul odor persisted throughout our stay.

As the nights went on, the problem did not improve, and on our final night, the situation became unbearable. The sewer gas had completely infiltrated the room, making it extremely uncomfortable and unhealthy to stay inside. This was especially concerning because my son has asthma, and the strong odors and chemical fumes aggravated his breathing.

Despite repeatedly communicating our concerns to the hotel staff, including the front desk, no effective solution or room change was offered. Their responses were polite but unhelpful, and we felt ignored as paying guests.

Given these circumstances, I kindly request that you review this matter and assist us in finding a fair resolution — such as a partial refund or suitable compensation for the discomfort.

A deeply disappointing experience—avoid doing business with this company.
Despite providing medical documentation and explaining that I was physically unable to travel, my request for a refund was met with a cold, scripted response. I reached out with sincerity, sharing the context and asking for compassion. Their reply?
“We understand the situation and we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, a direct refund is not possible.”
This was not a last-minute cancellation—there were still nearly three weeks before check-in. The refusal felt less about policy and more about a complete disregard for basic empathy.
Even Expedia intervened on my behalf, but they too were stonewalled:
“We’re following up on your request to cancel your booking and to reach out to the property for a refund. As much as we wanted to fulfill your request, we are subject to the vendor’s rules and cannot override their policies.”
It’s hard not to suspect that the room was resold after my cancellation, allowing the company to profit twice while refusing to support a customer in genuine need.
This experience reflects a troubling lack of care and integrity. I would strongly caution others against booking with this establishment.

Really my only complaint is that the shower was small but other than that the overall experience was good and this place is an excellent choice close to the trains station making it highly convenient for stop over trips in Florence

It’s one block away from Mercato Centrale , which is a must visit place, the food court on the 2nd floor is really good. Don’t waste your money on the highest rated restaurants in Florence, there’s better local options around this hotel

Also this hotel is walking distance from everything.

On arrival the lobby smelt of damp. It is an old building due for some renovation in Oct this year.
Pour room was in poor condition overall. The shower curtain was mouldy, the wardrobe door was broken, the walls were badly marked. Mini fridge was dirty, bathroom plug was broken. The safe got jammed and had to be released by the front of house staff.
We complained and were moved immediately without quibble to a better room .. thankyou Marco.
The hotel is convenient for the train station and is centrally located. However we would not book again.

This was located in a very excellent location in the middle of Florence, walkable to everywhere you need to visit! And yet very very quiet as the hotel has sound proof walls and very great blinds to block out light. We had a very restful stay! Daily buffet style breakfast from 7to 10 and staff were very kind and friendly. My daughter enjoyed all the breakfast options. Also we loved the walk in closet in the room. The hotel even surprised us with a bottle of wine as gift due to us being silver member of Expedia. Can’t be happier! We loved Florence!!!

Great location. Spacious.
Clean beds and bedsheets but found some peanuts in the bathroom so maybe the floor wasn’t cleaned well from those before us.
The hotel is a lot worn out, especially the furniture of the lobby, the walls need paint, etc. breakfast was OK but not great. Staff helpful. No parking so they have a deal with a garage they take the car (valet) for 40€ per night. The staff are helpful.

Property is in a good location if you like being slightly away from the most highly touristed areas of Florence as we do. Still very walkable to all the sights and great restaurants. Hotel is clean with very pleasant staff. As it was very hot when we visited in June we appreciated the ice-cold air conditioning. We had a car and parking was a breeze as the property offers valet parking (for a fee) so you avoid the nightmare of trying to find a parking spot. Included breakfast was just okay but having it on-site makes it much easier than trying to find something on your own before starting your day.

I like the hotel location, it is right in the city centre, very close to the sites we want to visit, we can easily walk to every place. It is also close to the railway station, you don’t need a taxi to the hotel. The market street is 1 min away. The staffs are very friendly. We like this hotel.

The hotel is old. There was paint chipping away on the ceiling above my bed. The room and bathroom were cleaned daily. However the sheets were not changed. The location is perfect and very close to the train station. The breakfast was excellent. There is a step between the hotel desk and the Breakfast area that needs to be highlighted as I watched 2 people fall in 2 days as it is hard to see. One gentleman appeared to be close to 70 years old that fell very hard. Great location and price. Needs to be updated and cleaned thoroughly.

Our room looked nothing like the photos, it was tired and oppressive. We got charged for a couple of bottles of water that were in the room fridge that wasn’t even switched on. The location was great though.. so if you’re looking for somewhere to dump your bags and spend the whole time exploring then great. Otherwise, I would not recommend.

Good Value with a Great Location

The hotel had a great location. Rooms were small and furnishings dated. Bathrooms were small and shower/tubs were in need of grab bars to ensure safety when getting in and out of the tubs. The neighborhood was noisy in the evening and early mornings due to market activity. Getting to the train station or the historic town center on foot was very easy and convenient. Staff were friendly and attentive.

The location is excellent. 5 minutes from the train station. Close to shopping and restaurants. The staff was excellent. Our room was a good size but some maintenance issues with the bathroom. They were very attentive to the problem. The bed is rock hard. Hard to sleep but the hotel is nice. Would recommend if you don’t mind a hard bed.

Great location for getting around, generally friendly staff.
The in room amenities are lacking. No soap dish for sink or shower. No hooks or towel rods to hang wet towels. No in room coffee / water boiler. The rooms are tired, in need of some spiffing up.
It was very clean, the bed comfortable.
The breakfast room was basic but good food.
Travel groups use this hotel so it can be busy at times. (Groups generally leave by 9 am)
This was my second stay here, but with so many options in Florence I think I will try somewhere else next time. The price point is reasonable.

Our family of four, including 2 teenage boys stayed in the quadruple room which included one bathroom and two separate bedroom areas separated by a small foyer with a large closet. The bathroom was clean and spacious with plenty of towels and a large shower and floor to ceiling mirrors, decent sized closet with drawers and beds were good. The hotel was located within walking distance of the train station, right next to the mercato centrale with all the outdoor vendors, about a 15 minute walk to the main tourist areas. Breakfast was included and many great options. The staff was friendly. The biggest challenge was the AC. It would not get any cooler than 23C despite the front desk telling us that it was set for 20C. This made sleeping uncomfortable when we visited in early July. The hotel was also on a very busy narrow street so we really needed to know what direction we were heading before we exited the front door to prevent being surrounded by pedestrian tourists and traffic. Overall decent place given the fact we were only stayed for two nights.

The hotel is right next to Mercato Centrale (local produce market) and San Lorenzo Market. All major sites are with 15-20 minutes walk. The buffet breakfast is very good.

The only drawback is that the facility needs a new update to match the price they are charging.

The Air conditioning stopped working on our second day of our 3 day stay. First day called front desk - they said it would be taken care off. Room was sweltering! The second night asked by phone and stopped by the front desk to report the ac not working. Reassured they will have it fixed by the time got back from dinner. When we got back around 11:30 still ac, asked if they can atleast provide a fan, they said no and that the ac is working! Room thermostat would not go below 25
Only 1 elevator working, which likes to jerk really hard when it comes to a stop!

The room was clean and big, and we really liked the bottle of wine we received upon arrival. However, the price of the hotel was far too high for both the lack of parking (an additional $40 per day that was not disclosed when I booked the hotel) PLUS they do not have parking onsite. They outsource this to a local garage, which has limited hours they're open. This greatly affected us when we needed to leave very early to drive to Rome to make our early flight. The hours of the garage should have been disclosed when I booked the hotel. Otherwise, all the basics were met; good clean room, AC worked, the location was very convenient in Florence. IF the price weren't so high, I would stay here again, but 170 a night is far too much for the room, with the parking and taxes on top of that.
