The location was extremely beautiful as were the rooms. We booked two, one bungalow for 6 people and a room for 4 with two queens beds.

The beds in the bungalow were very springy and seemed older but still a good stay.

The restaurant and 4 pools and beach were amazing. One of a kind sunsets and the food and drinks at the bar are really good and priced well for beach front views.

We will definitely be back and highly recommend buying snacks like chips, dips and sandwiches before you arrive . The food is great there but def need more snack options for on the go or for kids who wanna snack, juices, candies etc

Very relaxing resort. Plenty of pools and the staff were wonderful, however language barrier was an issue. One thing that would enhance the experience would be events at the hotel, example- līve music or shows, local craft nights, etc.. A representative to book tours would be an added bonus for customers who don’t rent a car. There is nothing nearby so if you don’t have a vehicle..after a couple days you’ve covered the whole resort and there is nothing to do. When we arrived SAL , we waited 1 1/2 hrs waiting for Christian (our shuttle driver), we had no idea what he looked like and he spoke no English. When we rented a car for the last 2days- Christian said we can just go into the terminal & get our car and no reservation required. Not true, we couldn’t get into the terminal, car agency rep had to come out and they didn’t speak any English. Luckily we had poki-fi and signed on and got car rental online. Other than language barriers- we were very pleased with the Hotel Estero Y Mar resort. It’s a beautiful resort. however if we ever go to El-Salvador again~ we’d rent a resort in La-Libertad

My family & i come here every time we travel to El Salvador. Beautiful place to stay & SOOO peaceful the staff is 100% the best & reliable. A beautiful hidden gem not too far from the airport & they connected us with someone who could pick us up at the airport his name was Andres what a beautiful soul, so genuine. I forgot the staff members name he was a server a nice man every year we go he is always attentive with everything. Every year we go back he's always so nice & remembers us the hotel staff checking you in is so pleasant & upgraded us to an ocean view when i book through expedia such an amazing establishment.

It's a beautiful property by the beach but the quality of the food is terrible, they use frozen ingredients and cans and I found piece of plastics inside of my food (inside of casamiento) and you have to drive more than half an hour to just find a regular restaurant to eat, you smell of sewer everywhere in the hotel, this smell was in my room and i feel it all 7 days of my stay, I throw up few times at the night and I wasnt able to go to bathroom because of this smell, I asked them to fix it but it was just good for few hours then you smell it again, I asked them to use a air refreshener in my room to help the smell go but they used the bug killer spray in my room and whole night I had pain in my chest and caughed and when i woke up in the morning I saw lots of dead bugs in my room that I found out it wasnt air refreshener because nobody knows English there they use app to translate, it was a terrible experince at front desk and when I was going to order food, nobody understand English and this is terrible for a hotel, lots of people that I saw staying there was local or Spanish people, I saw few tourist and I dont recomend this hotel for tourist.
When I reserved the hotel I got %20 off for Spa and I planned to use spa almost everyday but unfortunately they had no spa they said the person that do the spa is sick and she is not gonna come back in few months, then all my plan for relaxing was gone.
The staff are very nice but I dont recomend this hotel to no one.

The hotel advertises deluxe rooms as “ocean or pool view,” which it should not do; they should book rooms with different views separately, so customers can know what they would get. I sent the hotel a message with my reservation pleading for an ocean view. The hotel did not respond. When I arrived, I asked hopefully, “Do you have a room for me with ocean view?” The check-in woman responded: “Did you book on Expedia?” When I said yes, she replied “Your room has a pool view” and gave me a look I interpreted to mean “well that’s what happens when you don’t book directly.\" That makes their advertising here dishonest, if they intend to make only pool view available.
Also do not expect to get any VIP benefit offered. I booked in part because of 20% off massages. But after arriving, I asked to book a massage and was told they would not be offering massage during my stay. Another deception.
Because of these disappointments, I asked, nicely, to leave a day early and have my last night refunded. They refused, rudely.
Also do not book here if looking for a quiet place. They book a lot of large families with young children, and they do not make any of their four pools adults-only.
The place itself is nice and in a lovely (though very remote) location. Room interior fine, though not as nice as the pictures. Toilet seat loose, sole toiletry provided is a mini-shampoo tear-open packet. Good breakfast, friendly staff.

Much better than I expected! Booked almost at random, last minute. The photos looked nice so I booked. Wow was I impressed. The grounds are whimsical and interesting and my upgraded room was huge, appointed and spotless. The staff, at least one in five spoke perfect English, are attentive, always smiling and plentiful enough that whenever you turn around someone is nearby to assist. Absolutely superb weekend.

Breakfast menu was small and their omelette which I chose was not great. Folded ham and Kraft cheese inside of the egg. All the other food was great and the servers were kind. The suite we reserved was spacious with a wonderful view of the ocean. The AC stopped working in the bedroom around 2am but since we were only staying the one night we didn’t call for help. The bathrooms need exhaust fans but everything else was perfect. The property is spacious and well cared for. There are a lot of stray dogs in the restaurant area which is sad and kind of scary because of the risk of getting ticks. They offer a late check out but don’t mention that out comes with an additional charge. FYI

Hotel Estera Y Mar is 25 min from airport. Christian did transfter from and to airport. Room that we got upgraded was nice and clean. Staff is very helpfull all around the resort. Specially guys on bar/restaurant by the beach. Thank you Carlos. We loved the food, all we had was really delicious. Our favorite drink was Mojito Cubano. We had such a good time. Upon entry, the staff was very kind and accommodating given our limited Spanish skills. The check-in was seamless and the check-out the same. The room was clean and had everything we needed, as well as extra beverages and chocolates in the fridge. The view of the beach was great and was across the street in short walking distance. The hotel at night is breathtaking, great lighting and rainforest aesthetic and the pools were also clean and well-maintained. The restaurant across the street offered free breakfast with the stay and had room service as well. I would definitely recommend coming and would stay again,

The hotel has a lot of natural beauty and amazing views to the beach from the rooms. They have exotic animals on site that you can enjoy looking at while walking around the property. Many amazing places to sit and enjoy the beauty of the property. They have multiple pools where you can relax and enjoy your stay. The beach is right in front of the hotel so beach access is very easy to get to and makes it more enjoyable. They also provide a boat tour and it is enjoyable. The only thing that needs improvement is the food at the restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast is provided but could be much better. There are other close by where food is better and better price. If you want an amazing place with natural beauty this is definitely the place for you.

The property feels very family-oriented and features about five refreshing pools surrounded by plenty of trees, giving it a tropical vibe. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff is friendly and attentive. With the beach within walking distance and convenient showers and rinse stations to wash off sand and saltwater, the location is perfect for relaxation. I would definitely come back.

I didn’t get picked up from airport,I called the hotel 8 times and no one responded,I ended paying transportation again from airport taxi service,the hotel offered transportation back to the airport and told me that they don’t know wat happened.That was the only problem,other than that all is good ,the restaurant food was great.The ocean in this area was very strong and red flag but the pools were very nice and clean.

My family and I had a really good time at this hotel! The staff was super nicer and let us check in early with a free upgrade. The restaurant at the hotel has amazing food as well. We enjoyed going down to the beach for a bit and then hopped over to the pool.

There really isn’t anything to do in that area of ES so if you want a low key stay , this is the spot!

This hotel was probably the nicest of the hotels in this area. It is located way off the beaten path nestled along the famous black sand beaches. Most like about hotel Estero is the safari like setting with a few animals that can be viewed throughout the property. Another great aspect are the many relaxation spots throughout the property. We also like the many swimming pools and were allowed guest/family to visit without issues. The food at the restaurant was ok and there wasn’t many choices nearby so we had to drive quite a ways to find the good food. The only other hassle was coming back in late, and having to find someone to open the gate for parking.

As in many properties, there are things to like and to complain about. we will mentioned a couple of things noticeable for othres to consider, On this stay were a group of 8 adults and 1 child and 2 rooms. We were not given the password for wifi. It was until later we learned from dinner waiter we should have. They will give 1 password for person and only individually-inconveniently. The AC in one room was not working and it took 2 hours, in the mid afternoon heat (95 degrees F) and high humidity to fix. The tech a ill mannered and ill tempered man, was trying to blamed us customers saying someone playing with clicker will make AC Malfunction. It just saw happens it needed freon, which he ended up having to do and we were very displeased. a few other little things, but in all we give it a 2.5 stars this visit They should always cater and be nice to visitors, never blamed them for something, specially when it is not true!

I like that the property was more like a nature retreat with 5 pools and hotel rooms and right across the street from the beach. The hotels restaurant is right across the street and serves delicious food and drinks at the bar. The only “downside” that I hope Expedia and the property will fix is the free airport shuttle. There is no free airport shuttle but they have a private driver you can hire for $35 each way. The driver has a small sedan so anything more than 2 ppl I would suggest find alternative transportation. They have uber and you might be able to get an uber driver from airport to property but not from property to airport because it’s 30 mins away from town/airport so plan accordingly. The property has lush plants and trees all over as well as parrots and monkeys you can see! The waves are very big and rough at the beach which is black sand by the way so @swimming wouldn’t be advisable but still a beautiful site to see and you can definitely go down there and get your lower body wet without risking yourself. Aside from the shuttle issue and the way it’s listed on Expedia this property is great and I will return! Ask for room 21 if you are a couple. Great private balcony/deck overlooking the ferocious Pacific Ocean. The sound of the waves is beautiful. There’s also security on site 24/7 which is great. Long sandy beach not much to do in the hotel after 10 pm. Quit place lots of vegetation and areas to relax.
Not very happy that the owner retain your documents at check in like your passport or DUI. Instead of a credit card.
Over all love this place but I really dislike the fact that they forced you to surrender your documents like Drivers license/DUI or Passport.
