The level \"excellent\" offered as an option in this survey for how helpful the staff was in an insufficient measure. I have never felt more welcomed and appreciated when checking in for a stay. We were treated warmly and were even given a small history of the founding and survival of the business through the years. We were made to feel very special.

We had a great two-night getaway in a premium oceanfront room. The flusher broke in the bathroom during our stay and was almost immediately fixed (though it wasn’t a big deal for us and could’ve waited). The owner was very friendly and attentive. We loved having the balcony to relax on and the proximity to all the things on the boardwalk. We will definitely be returning!

Good room size and right on the boardwalk. Room was clean and had a nice balcony. Only down side was the shop under us with music during the day,but you expect that at a busy part of Ocean City.

Teh staff gave our room to another guest and told us they would call them to get the key and then give us the room after 8PM that night. We said no thanks and they downgraded us to a lower room. When we asked for the difference in price they told us we requested the down grade (because we didn't want to wait until late at night to get our room and we didn't trust it would be clean). Eventually they said \"Whatever, and handed us a $20 bill.\"

Staff was very friendly. The view was exceptional. We were oceanfront with a balcony. The hotel needs updating for sure. We had a king sized bed and the mattress was soft but the bed or frame was lopsided.ended up with a pinched nerve after three nights. Our room was also right above a cantina and on the boardwalk. Weekend noise is crazy. During the week it was quiet by 11 pm. If you don’t mind the outdated makeup of the motel this is a great place for convenience. Everything is right there.

Kind Staff - Mediocre Stay
The staff was overall very helpful and kind. The rooms were decent for the price. The bedding had hair all over and inside it from the previous guest and most likely wasn't changed. We had to ask it to be replaced. By far my largest problem was other guests smoking tons of marijuana. The hallways smelled heavily of it. Also, when using the very dusty AC unit, the marijuana smell came into the room from outside. I have a somewhat sensitive nose. So despite the kindness of the staff, the time in the room was not the most pleasant. I'd consider staying again if the rooms were updated and smoking marijuana was banned on property.

I have been staying here for the past 3 years and I love it. I love being right on the boardwalk and being close to all the shops and waking up and watching the sunrise out on the ocean. I stayed on the 1st floor the past 2 years and I had a room on the second floor this time. I must say, I like the 1st floor better. All in all,it was great and I will be coming back

Amazing view of the ocean from the balcony and from inside the room. The back wall is basically windows. We left the curtains wide open the entire time to get a great view of the ocean. Great location on the boardwalk conveniently located close to all the action. The businesses under the hotel all offer a discount if you show them the room key, a candy shop, pizza shop, a food shop that stays open late into the night. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. I was there with my 10yr old daughter for our annual dad/daughter end of summer trip. The lady behind the desk took the time to seaech for specific coupons for her and I to use. We will definitely stay here again

The beds were comfortable a coffee make or a kettle to warm up water for coffee or tea would’ve been great but they only had microwave and a tv (we made it work for our coffee) other than that it was a great stay motel was right in front of the beach the pool was deep (3ft-8ft) the parking was good to we were actual able to leave our car there after checking out until 2:00 to do our last walk on the border

Great stay staff is very nice. Only thing was they leave an envelope for a tip for room service but they don’t clean the room or make the bed they just leave towels on the bed for you. I had a room for my family of 4 and they only gave us 2 towels. My daughter asked them about the beds but unless you need fresh sheets they don’t tidy up and you can only get fresh sheets once on your stay.

It was like their own personal reunion and home. I never complain at places but i went to the desk to complain and they did nothing. 2 other guests, that im aware of, did the same. Absolutely nothing was done. So 2 days of our trip was soent listening to loud rap music through the walls and being unable to wven use the pool. At 1400$ for 3 nights, it was complete bs. Idk if new owners took over but this place has gone completely downhill in a year. The staff was so friendly last year, this year they didnt even look at the guests when they walked by all day.

The location to the boardwalk is great. Just steps away, that's the reason it gets 3 stars. Otherwise, the walls are thin. It's very noisy. A fire alarm goes off and the hotel gets evacuated. The air conditioner in the room didn't work. I think the staff tried their best, but we didnt have a great experience

The allowance and encouraging of smoking everywhere but inside the rooms sadly ruined the experience. There were smoke buckets outside every room in the walkways, and on every balcony. Every time we went out to the balcony, we smelled smoke. When we went to the boardwalk, we had to pass by others sitting in the open walkways smoking. I asked 2 separate people at the front desk on 2 separate days about this, and they both said the same thing. \"Yes, its totally fine. Just don't smoke in the room.\" On Hotels.com it is listed as a smoke free property, which means smoking is prohibited in all areas of a property. I can see if people are sneaking it, but when you have buckets filled with sand everywhere for cigarette butts, then you are actively helping and encouraging your guests to smoke.

I must admit I was skeptical when I booked this establishment because I have been to Ocean City many times and never looked at this place as somewhere I could stay. Either because of affordability or because of how I perceived it to look. I was wrong. This establishment was affordable AND while \"mature\" you can see that they are upgrading from inside out.
Obviously this place needs nothing because the LOCATION is PERFECT. Add the friendliness of the staff, and their willingness to make your stay the best in OC only adds to the overall experience.
Nothing is perfect, and yes the electrical outlets could be upgraded. But think about it, I literally commented on the outlets as a \"negative\". That was my only concern charging my 8 devices. Maybe I didn't need all 8. And I didn't because again LOCATION and service.
You have access to the boardwalk in its grandest! If you want to be in the midst of action this is it.

The office staff are super friendly. The motel is right on the boardwalk with easy access to everything. It's an older motel, definitely could use some TLC. The first room my husband and son were in smelled like smoke as a man constantly stood outside the door and smoked and the rooms had wall AC that pulled in smoke. The staff really moved them to another room with no complaints. My biggest issue was the cleaning staff. The first thing I noticed on arrival was the floor was sandy when we first walked in the room. I overheard the neighbor complain about the same thing in their room so I just cleaned ours. We were there for 5 days and they never offered to clean the room or change sheets. Just gave us towels when we asked. I've cleaned hotel rooms before and would never go five days without changing sheets. It's convenient to everything, has a great pool and the office staff couldn't be nicer. Overall, you get what you pay for.

I wanted a place on the boardwalk to meet with family who were staying nearby in a condo. It was a great location - right on the boardwalk, close and easy! I love that the rooms were labeled with their location. I got a room that wasn’t facing the boardwalk or pool and it was quiet.

We enjoy so many walkable places near the Rideau! This was our first stay and we will definitely go back. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Not enough electrical outlets for charging but its an old hotel so its understandable. I'd stay there again, as a secondary choice. Staff was nice.

Was looking for an affordable hotel for one night. For the money, I paid, it exceeded my expectations. The place is an old motor inn. It’s had minimal updates, but it is very clean. It’s a 3-star accommodation so you don’t get all the fluff. However you do get clean, safe, quiet rooms with comfortable beds. I rated it excellent because it exceeded my expectations at the price point I was willing to pay. Also the staff is nice.

This is a nice location but it is about the only good thing about it. Bathroom is small and no space for toiletries, the sink was leaning so you could not even put a toothbrush as it would roll down. Shower would get extremely hot or very cold, shower head leaked. Room was not cleaned well prior to our checkin as I found dried up french fries on the floor. If you don't smoke or have children, this is not the place for you as people are allowed to smoke on the balcony. There is also no sound proofing of any kind, you can hear screaming partiers in the middle of the night or some crazy band performance singing at 5:30 am. The room needs updating, old dresser, walls, chipping tile in the bathroom, everything shows sign of wear. No coffee machine in the room, one in the office but on off season it doesn't open till 9 am. Beds were not comfortable for me.

We chose the Rideau because of its location, as my husband has mobility issues. They were able to provide us with a wheelchair for his use for the duration of our stay at no charge. The staff couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. The only downfall was while housekeeping provided us with new towels everyday our bed was never made after check in. I’m sure this was just an oversight as they were great in every other aspect. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

This had to be one of the best customer service oriented places I have ever stayed at. The owner was very helpful and prompt with any and all issues, and an overall very personable individual. We had an issue our first night with the bar under the hotel partying with loud music until 2am and she got them to stop. That was a godsend with a 4 year old in tow. She even moved us up to the second floor and further away from the noise which was a huge help. My only real “issues” of you can call them that, was that the beds in neither room were not particularly comfortable and were quite noisy, and the water pressure. Other than that great experience and we’ll be back.

The property person kept saying about poolside. She said she spoke to husband and didn't. She said she called but didn't receive one. Only real problem was dirty floors upon arrival. She thought we got them dirty just got there. Only one outlet to charge phone. Beds are old like Grandma. The young lady at desk is nice. Room decent. Bill print out said i paid little over 5 hundred. Was charged around 660 on card. Plus 22.00 additional at arrival. Why why the difference

I did not even want to shower in the place. Even the motel across the street had a full parking lot. There were 3 cars here. DO NOT STAY HERE
