The staff at front desk were lovely, the location is perfect for concerts and the ocean view balcony just right. The room was (surface anyway) pretty clean. But so many things are run down, broken, knackered or rusty from the cracked sink faucet handle to the stained couch to the moldy smelling hallways that you wonder when the last time was that anyone did serious maintenance.

The room was very spacious and comfortable and it was great having a side view of the ocean and just being a few feet from the boardwalk! On the down side they only clean rooms on Wednesday and Saturday...so I called Wednesday morning to be sure our room was being cleaned and they assured me it would be. When we got back to our room at 9:00 pm, nothing had been touched...no new towels, no toilet paper..etc! I called the desk and they did bring up towels but made no effort to reschedule cleaning our room...so room wasn't cleaned or supplies replenished for the whole week we were there! Also early morning truck deliveries were right outside our room which made sleeping past 8 am pretty difficult!

This is a nice hotel with a friendly staff and is very conveniently located on the boardwalk. We stayed Sept 10th through Sept 13th and with parking, we sometimes ended up in the overflow parking lot which is about two blocks away, because of some type of motorcycle event going on in the area with hundreds of bikers in the area. Our dislike is that the bathtub/ shower does not have a \"grab\" bar to prevent a slip and fall.

The property was sorta disjointed. The pool is not connected to the main building. The pool bar is independent of the hotel. The rooms are dated ! The stove in the room has to be from the 60s a coil top that looks dangerous to use. The windows in the room were filthy. The staff member at the front desk check in was either petrified of being fired or NEW. She needed help. Overall experience was meh! I personally would recommend some where else.

I originally booked ocean front on expedia but only got a side view. Lock broken on door, but was fixed. Shortage of wash cloths. Eventually got a second one. Others had same problem. Cleaning seemed to consist of spraying a nasty smelling product. No coffee in lobby and attached coffee shop does not open early. On a good note, employees were friendly and new pool/bar area was nice. We will not go back.

There was a good view of the beach from the balcony, but there was also a good view of all the balconies across the street. I enjoyed the real wood-board boardwalk. The best thing about the Tidelands is the location. It's close to all of the boardwalk, we wrre in the ocean view room with balcony. So many places to eat, a coffeehouse below or cheaper Dunkin Donuts 2 doors down. The staff is also great. Very friendly and helpful. There are two pools, one with a bar with drinks and a snack. Yes its a bit worn and dated, but that's Ocean City in general. This is our second stay and we plan a third for next year.

My friends and I come to the beach the weekend after Labor Day every year. We’ve been coming for years. The Thailand’s Caribbean Inn has been a staple for us for years. The price and the amenities are equal, and the stay is always clean and comfortable. the rooms are updated This year. I will say there could be some updating to the parking situation, the hot water, and the condition of the stairwells other than that, I will probably still stay at the tidelands every year!

Have to admit that after reading some of the previous reviews for Tidelands, that I was concerned about my choice of lodging for our family's stay in ocean city. However, Tidelands proved me wrong! The property could use some updating, but it still has character. Our room there was fine and the beds were comfortable. The staff were great!!! They all responded to needs that we had (like additional towels and assistance with a broken bottle). Very personable. We really liked the outdoor pool with the bar that offered tasty drinks. Would definitely stay there again... Thank you Tidelands for helping to make our vacation a good one!

The best part about this hotel is the location. It’s right on the boardwalk and a very easy walk to the beach. The rooms are in need of an update. The mattress was HORRIBLE. We had to request towels three different times in one day and they were finally brought to the room after the third call at 9pm after waiting all day, not to mention when we checked in, they had no towels available and had to bring some to our room once they had some clean. Overall, I expected much more for the price we paid but unfortunately did not have the best experience.

Only downfall was , I didn’t realize that there are 2 buildings with this hotel. And the building we were in was not directly on the boardwalk. My only complaint is parking. It was impossible to find a parking space. We ended up just paying 50$ to park for the night so we didn’t have to walk far with 2 toddlers.

This place is close to anything and everything you need while enjoying OC. Its right on the boardwalk, shops, entertainment and stores. Always a great place to stay.

Great location! Roof top pool and bar was great, beds and pillows were comfortable. Room could have been cleaner. Sand on the floor from the last people who stayed, dirty corners of the rooms and bathroom, dish soap was cheap and ice machine didnt work and had to walk up to the 4th floor to get ice. We used the pull out sofa and it was covered in crumbs and the mattress was stained. We called for housekeeping several times and it took hours for them to get what we needed. Housekeeping carts were in the hall most of the time so we took what we needed and swept our own floors.

Worst hotel experience ever!
10/10 do NOT recommend. I've never been treated so poorly by a staff member in a hotel. It started off great with check-in, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. We only stayed 3 nights and I was traveling alone with 2 small children. During the second night, at 11:30pm, long after we all fell asleep, the phone rings in the room. I missed the phone because I was asleep and I was confused by what was ringing. I assumed someone called the room by accident, given the time. Then suddenly, someone starts banging on door. I was afraid to open the door but did anyway. Hotel security was standing there, he told me there was an issue with my credit card and if I don't resolve the issue at the front desk by midnight, he threatened to evict us from the room. I told him I couldn't leave because my children were sleeping. I called the front desk and the woman was extremely rude, repeating the same thing hotel security said. She claimed my credit card was declined and I had to come downstairs if I wanted to continue my stay. She also refused to accept my credit card over the phone. When I told her my children were sleeping and I couldn't leave, she said \"we have cameras, your kids will be fine\". Against my better judgment, I went downstairs, only to find out this entire problem was over a $14.95 resort fee! I have never been treated so poorly in a hotel, this should NEVER have happened, it was completely unacceptable to be threatened at 11:30pm at night. I will never stay again.

Stayed for a few days. First night was okay. Second and third night we found roaches. Brought up to girl at the desk and said she would tell the manager. Luckily we checked out that day. Bathroom toilet and sink were barely functioning. Floor was dirty and had squished bugs all over it. Will never stay again.
