Just be careful when booking. Some rooms are really small. Bathroom was small and no safety bars to get in and out of tub (one of reason we left early). No charging ports (USB Ports) for charging cell phones. Because our room was so small, there no chairs or place for computer (no table).. On the plus side, location is good (hotel is on boardwalk), nice big front porch to sit and see ocean and people watch, elevator was fast and there is restaurant attached to hotel.

Loved the location of the hotel as it is very close to everything and on the boardwalk. Parking is very annoying as there were limited spots on-site at the hotel but they had an overflow lot up the street. The walk from the overflow lot was about a block away which wasn't too bad, but it was slightly annoying. The hotel definitely needs a face lift as it does appear to be old and run-down for the price that they charge. The rooms are also extremely small so it is only good for a short stay, I would not stay here for a longer trip (week). I do love that they have a deck on the boardwalk with chairs to sit out and look at the ocean. The staff was nice and our housekeeper was very friendly and helpful in guiding us to the best restaurants in town. Overall it was not bad as we stayed for a weekend and they had a pool, but not sure if I would choose the hotel again.

Stay was good. Room was smaller than what I thought/expected. The room and hotel is older and a little dated, but it was clean and welcoming overall. The price was much higher than usual due to the local events occurring this weekend and proximity to the events. Staff was good. Room was clean. Our view was of the pool side/bar. Parking was a little tough but a guaranteed spot is reserved nearby if the main lot is full.

The staff was excellent. For an ocean view that didn't have a balcony the windows were filthy. I'm paying almost $1,000 it should have been clean. Also the glass partitions down by the rocking chairs were filthy. And the bed blankets look like they were 20 years old. Please upgrade great location. Great staff

The hotel was ok. I mainly picked it because of the location to the Country Calling Festival. Way overpriced for what it is but like I said, I paid for location. Rooms are old but clean. The hallway by the elevator stayed littered with someone's dropped french fries for 2 days. Nice pool, pool bar and good restaurant downstairs. Overall, ok.

Check in was smooth - except that we were not informed that housekeeping needed to be requested. When we returned to the room, there were 2 bath towels laying on the bed and the dirty ones removed. Nothing else was done to the room. There were housekeepers in the hallway. I told them that there were 2 of us in the room and we needed additional towels. She couldn't understand me and called a manager over. He asked me what I wanted. I told him that the was not cleaned, the beds were not made and the trash was not removed. He asked what it was that I wanted again. I said that I didn't care if the beds weren't made but needed towels and cleaning. I received 2 more towels and he said that the hand towels were in the laundry. He would send some up when they were dry. He did not tell me that we had to request housekeeping. We left the room and expected some housekeeping to occur, but nothing was done. We found out that a request needed to be done each day, on our last day there. We have been staying at the hotel for many years but we probably will not return.

I've stayed at Plim Plaza many times over the years... but, sadly, this trip may have been my last. When my husband and I walked into our oceanfront room (#303) after coming off the beach, we were warm and ready for some cool air conditioning. Instead, we were greeted with a musty and broken A/C unit, and loud thumps from the other side of the wall (housekeeping room, I assume). We turned the temp down as low as it would go while unpacking but it never cooled off. I called the front desk and they moved us to a very cool room down the hall. Great... all was good. That night, all we heard was thumping above us and loud music coming off the boardwalk. We eventually fell asleep in the comfortable bed... but not for long. Shortly after 6am, the thumping and stomping from above us and the hallway started again. Overall, the hotel itself just didn't look as clean as it used to be and the musty smell was worse than I remember. This is no slight to the housekeeping staff as they were very attentive. It's just time for the owners to do a massive renovation of this property. I know the prices would go up but this just doesn't seem to be the value it once was... and that is disappointing.

The place feels like it's falling apart. Despite the no smoking signs everywhere, the whole place smelled like smoke and people were out smoking all around the outside entrances. The place was very dirty. Whoever cleaned the room did not even do the bare minimum. There was a used wash cloth hanging on the shower. The staff were friendly enough but obviously stopped caring about the place a long time ago.

So, my recent stay at The Plim Plaza Hotel was awesome! The rooms are teeny-tiny – think generously-sized walk-in closet – but super clean and well-equipped. Mini-fridge, microwave, even an ice bucket! And a smart TV, so you can binge-watch your favorite shows after a day at the beach.

The location? Perfection! Right on the boardwalk, so it's steps away from the sand. Tons of restaurants, bars, and shops nearby, plus plenty of benches for some chill people-watching.

The staff were all incredibly sweet and helpful. I HAVE to give a massive shout-out to Gigi at the front desk – she was a total rockstar! Check-in and check-out were super smooth and fast, and she was always happy to answer questions or help with anything we needed.

The pool was a great size, nice and clean, and usually pretty quiet... except when the live band played. But honestly, their music was fun, and it usually started later in the day, so it was perfect timing for poolside partying! The only little hiccup was the ice machine on our floor being broken, but we easily got ice from another floor. The hotel restaurant was decent for breakfast; nothing fancy, but it did the job.

Overall, for the price (especially considering it was a holiday weekend!), I'd totally stay here again and recommend it to anyone. You won't regret it!

People sitting around smoking at every entrance, the lobby seemed to be open to the public with questionable people hanging out everywhere. Our first room’s bathroom was filled with mold, tv didn’t work and door barely shut. The staff did accommodate us by “upgrading” us to a room that looked more like the pictures we saw when we booked but the bathroom still had mold (just less) and the door still barely shut. The hot tubs were filthy, not maintained and we couldn’t enjoy hanging out on the property due to the smokers/public just trashing the place.

The convenience was great being on the boardwalk and close to everything. The hotel is very outdated and really needs to have an upgrade. When we got there no hot water so we could not get towels. The second night we were there no cable. It’s a non-smoking building, but you could smell marijuana Everywhere. The parking is horrific, especially if you are handicap all the money that this hotel makes there’s no reason why it cannot be updated. There’s no comforters on the bed. You get a sheet in an old polyester blanket. You have a lot of bad reviews, but I don’t see any response back from the hotel. The pool wasn’t cleaned the whole week I was there. I don’t think I’ll be staying there again.

Had to park 3 blocks down and out of site of the hotel. Park at own risk situation accross 2 major roads. Expedia didn't book my name with the hotel correctly. They used my first name twice for the booking and the receptionist couldn't find my name in the booking. The halways were so uneven that it felt like i was walking on thin sheets of bowed plywood. The hallways reaked of pot smoke. My room was not serviced while I was out for the day. At 5:30 PM someone finally came around to ask me if I needed towels. the width between the toilet and the bath tub was tight. I am 6 ft tall so my knees were up against the tub while using the kamode. Had to sit on an angle on the toilet becuase I couldn't fit in there.

Dirty, disappointing, and disrespectful guests

I hate leaving bad reviews, and I never do, but I had to write a review for this place. I will review this as honest as I can. To start, I did think that some of the staff members that I spoke with were very kind and helpful, but some of them didn't seem to care at all. I was first thrown off by the chance of our room not being ready at 4, but I took this with a grain of salt. When we got in our room around 4:15, the first thing we noticed was our bed looked like it was broken as it was sunken in in the middle. My wife and son began to find clumps of hair all over the bed, tangled in the blankets, and all over the bathroom. What did it in for us in our room was the refrigerator had leftover cups with drinks still in them with lip marks. We spoke to the front desk, and this was our first kind encounter as the gentleman was respectful and helpful and moved us to another room.

The new room seemed fine with the exception of a crack above the door (door looked unlevel) that was letting a lot of light in, as well as finding someone's sandals under our bed. What did it in for us was the disrespectful guests on our floor who were constantly smoking weed and cigarettes, arguing, running through the halls at night, and leaving piles of dirty sheets and towels that smelled of human faeces and vomit. We ended up leaving 2 days early. Parking is also an issue here, and we had to park 2 blocks away, but this is common in OC.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location considering it’s right on the boardwalk and close to everything. Other than that, it was awful. Our room was never cleaned, we had to keep going downstairs to get towels, and trash piled up for days. The bathroom faucet fell off, and the bed sheets looked nasty. This place seriously needs a major renovation.

The photos of the property do not match what it appears in person. However, the staff was accommodating and nice, but the hallways and equipment are outdated and needs renovations badly. Parking is very limited, we had to walk about two blocks to park in a lot that was owned by them. We had a flood in the bathroom from water that was leaking from the floor above us and was moved to a room that was dry but again very outdated if you are on a budget and don’t care about amenities in the room then this is a place for you. The hotel is convenient, but as far as aesthetics and upgrades, it is not somewhere I would stay again. They had guest sleeping in the lobby. That’s all you need to know, first impression is the last impression. Definitely got cat fished.

When I first arrived at the property there was no body soap I had to go out and look for someone to bring more and that took forever.. so I had to go back out and luckily, I found a worker working out by the room and came inside and fill the bottle with body soap. No towels either. Room was very small not even space for the amount of money that the room was. I was not happy with my visit other than just the convenience of having the board walk right outside. I would not return.

We were staying for 4 days and 3 nights. We had to ask 3 times for more washcloths and towels. There were four of us and on day one they had only 4 towels and two washcloths. They never came into rhe room to take the trash and only knocked at door and asked if we needed anything and we asked for washcloths and they said we will have to bring them back to you and they never did until asking 3 times. Parking was horrible. The air conditioning front cover kept falling off. There are no mocrowaves in the rooms. For 400 a night you would think they would give enough washcloths and empty the trash!!! The Grand Hotel. The Commander are definitely better!! Parking was also two blocks away

Found bed bugs on the bed as soon as we went into the room. Immediately requested a refund and checked out. I got a receipt saying the money was going to be refunded and had to go back 3 days later before heading home because they were denying a refund. Not sure if it was Expedia lying or the hotel being difficult but finally was approved for a refund. I would NEVER recommend this place. Staff was friendly but that’s about all.

Pool bar nice and rooms do smell clean is about all I can say. Hotel extremely run down. Scuffs on walls and doors everywhere in hotel, stained carpet through out. Our bathroom floor was soft under tiles. Felt like it would collapse at anytime. Parking lot was terrible..not enough parking to accommodate guest and tight small spaces not easy to move around as its a garage under pool area. Elevator doors shut after a few seconds...1 larger Elevator and one really small one to accommodate 181 rooms. Ice machine not working on our floor. The hallways are wavy , uneven, you will trip easily. Same with parking lot, cracked very uneven asphalt. As much as this costs I would recommend investing in property improvements.

Family Getaway at Plim Plaza Hotel in Ocean City

Check-in was smooth and efficient. We arrived before 4:00 pm check-in. The hotel representative gave us bracelets to use the pool. She also promised to \"text\" us when room was ready and she did so. Lobby was updated and comfortable with business area. Although room was small, it was clean. We did hear noise from floor above us. However, Bathroom was updated. Mattresses were comfortable. Great location. One restaurant and bar area (with some entertainment and food) are attached to hotel. Overall, good experience. I have been going to Ocean City for many years and Plim Plaza has been there for many years. So do not expect the \"bells and whistles\" like in more modern hotels. Nonetheless, the hotel is close to boardwalk and beach. Also hotel had free parking.

Good times!

Ok, so parking wasn't the best... but, where your at you won't need your car!... on the beach, has a nice pool and 3 hot tubs, also a bar next to the pool... staff was very nice and assertive! Highly recommend!

The rooms were outdated and tiny. The pool looked dirty so we didn’t go in. We didn’t know we only had parking for 1 vehicle. They should let guests know it’s only 1 parking space per reservation. Lots of smokers near the back entrance, which you have to pass to load and unload.

This hotel is located on 2nd street so it is a convenient location for getting around on the boardwalk. The staff was helpful and the room was decent for the price. The parking area is extremely small and the additional parking is located 2 streets over.

The hotel is not only old, but felling a part. The floor in our bedroom was uneven resulting doors having 2 inch gap In the top left corner and bottom right corner. Simply doors did t fit in the frame. Matt race was so soft, you sit on it and you are inches from the floor. Loud, band outside till 11 pm followed by stereo. You can't sleep how loud is it. Parking limited. Dirty Alley. Everywhere signs no smoking but people smoking there, stuff didn't address this. We got diarrhea from there. It's dirty, roaches, tiny tiny rooms. Not even queen bed for couple. I would never stay there again. Wish I could post pictures here
