NO internet which caused a lot of issue since I needed to work while on vacation. Beds were on the harder side and needed more pillow. The second day I think her name was Beth was helpful and changed our feeling about even staying at this hotel, Had to park 4 blocks away and I was handicap which made it very difficult.

The Ocean 1 is a no frills, older hotel in a great location. It's right on the beach and gives you a great view of the sunrise. The heater didn't work (it was still chilly out) but the staff quicky got us a space heater that worked fine. The toilet seat cover was broken and the toilet roll holder was also, but wasn't a big deal. For the price and location, it worked for us. It was clean and the room was nice. I would stay there again.

I've been thinking about this a lot, because although we had a good deal on the rates, considering we're in the shoulder season, they should be decent.... There was ONE big issue. No WI-FI for the whole 3 days, and we got a couple of responses but none were really valid. No one offered to provide some sort of refund, and we had to pay for some sort of hot spot so my husband could complete a work thing.
The location is perfect for beach and boardwalk, although loud during the day, and even into the night we kept hearing music.
Fairly clean throughout, staff was nice enough, older building and fixtures, nothing fancy. Got the job done, except for Wi-Fi. Parking was fine, but I can see how during the busy season it will fill up fast and then you'll have to park in a further lot. We got lucky with that.

This has been our 3rd summer stay at Ocean 1 and this was also probably our best! In prior years, our room had 2 beds and a small circular table w/ 2 chairs. This year our room had the 2 beds, a cushioned bench, 2 wingback chairs and a large desk w/ rolling chair. We enjoyed having seating options other than just our beds, and overall those items made the room feel much more comfortable than in years past. The hotel staff are all so kind, helpful and just enjoyable to talk to (and this has been consistent throughout the years we have stayed here). The only \"complaint\" I have is the the cleanliness of the bathroom. The drain stopper, which did not sit properly in the drain, had mildew all over it and when we lifted the faucet to turn on the water, we could see where the neck of the faucet had not been cleaned. Dirty bathrooms give me major ick, but everything else was so great that I can't put the rating too low ;) We will be back, for sure!

Let's see... There were no blankets in our room. We had sheets and a duvet. We checked in super late and the TV didn't work. Called the front desk and the worker came up and couldn't get it to work. So he literally just gives up and says \"the best I can do is leave a note for my manager\"-- the manager never followed up with us. I ended up fixing the TV myself. Then we had to ask for blankets the next morning. The balcony doors are not sound proof AT ALL. So unless you are an early riser, like 430-5am do not book, you will not have a good sleep. The garbage trucks come very early morning and the dumpster being picked up sounds like a bomb going off and the reverse beeping goes on for 15 minutes.

Parking wasn’t the greatest as it took second day to finally have them put the extra flow parking in our gps cause we couldn’t find it,at hotel it’s only maybe 15 spots to park,when we walked in our room smelt weird like mildew stinky wet mop but there was still so much sand and stuff on floor like wasn’t swept even the bathroom floor so that’s was weird to smell that and we smelt throw up smell on our 4th floor few times,but our neighbors smoking weed anytime our door was open on deck few times we smelt it bad even with door shut and coming back from wherever we where our room did,staff was all very nice and soon asked for towels we got within a reasonable time too

The cons, no housekeeping at all during your stay, we were unaware we had to request towels, and toliet tissue. Floors seem dirty upon arrival and room reaked of cigarettes. I spoke with front desk all they could do was spray an air freshener, no thanks we kept the door open for air. On the small patio with only 2 chairs(we booked a room suited for 4 people) was an under bed storage container to collect to overflow of water coming from the air conditioner unit. It overflowed and flooded the patio each day of stay. Maintenence came once to deal with it and we emptied it ourselves the remaining days. Zero wifi, had to use hot spots, no cable whatsoever so on the rainy day we again used hotspot for a bit of streaming. Somehow the water had a mildew smell coming right from the faucet. Tub was not cleaned prior, maybe wiped, a few hairs stuck to walls, mildew around the drain stopper, last guests razor cover and hair tie remained on the ledge. Screen door lock was broken, outside access doors did not close properly so they open almost 24 hours a day. Room door itself had to be pulled closed. Room keys worked when they wanted to. Wallpaper peeling off walls, patches in some places of a similar but not same wallpaper. Looked like a recent leak in one corner. No comforters on beds. Just a duvet with no cover and all the snaps hanging off, sheets seemed clean. More to list but I am out characters.

Had a really good experience Aug 2025. Front deck staff were great. Room was big ,clean and price was unbeatable. Location on boardwalk and 1st St was perfect if you want in the fray of things. I did miss having a pool, but not a deal breaker being on the beach. Will stay again!!!

They got our room ready early so that was a place. The location is good! The parking situation is awful. They only have a couple of spaces right at the hotel. The rest of the parking is 2 blocks away. The rooms are kinda small. For the price I was expecting a lot more. Stayed at a much cheaper hotel the night before for half the price and enjoyed it much more. The staff was friendly though.

Property is at a great location. Right on the boardwalk and beach and accessible to all activities. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only thing is that the rooms are old and outdated. Definitely need renovations and parking is not onsite, about two and a half blocks away. Otherwise enjoyed my days at the beach, boardwalk and amusement park. Very convenient

Customer service was good and prime location with boardwalk access. Room had a smoke smell. The wallpaper from the walls was peeling in places. There was a punched hole in the wall. The bathroom smelled of urine and there was no privacy with the balcony. The people on the balcony next to us smoked pot and it seeped into our room. Beds hard too.

The GM and the rest of the staff was friendly and helpful. Overlooking the boardwalk and right on the beach. Conveniently located to food and shops. The only drawback was the shower was difficult to regulate the temperature of the water.
The ocean view was a side view, but we expected that. Next time we stay we are going to upgrade to the oceanfront. We will be back!

My review is messier than the hotel
Location was the selling point for me. Being on first street gives you easy access to the majority of the shops that are still open in October. The hot tub was nice. The tv was tiny in comparison to most tvs but still has HDMI if you’re interested. The balcony was my biggest complaint of this stay, the balconies here are only separated by a half wall. There is also the very small parking lot under the hotel to leave a vehicle. Supposedly there is another lot a few blocks off but not worth it in my opinion. Other than that it could have used an actual deep cleaning, floor boards and the dust on the lamps were the things I noticed.

I was very impressed with the property and I thought everything was very clean until I was getting ready to leave. When I got up on my last day, I pulled the coverlet and top sheet all the way to the bottom of the bed and found dried up blood on the bottom sheet. I thought it might be a stain so I took a wet washcloth and dabbed at it. It came off. I think the sheets were clean and whoever changes them was bleeding and got blood on the sheet. The sheets smelled clean. This won’t prevent me from staying there again since I don’t think I slept in sheets that hadn’t been changed
